Louie Coffee Shop

Louie is a quaint, very cute, tucked away coffee shop with a warm atmosphere, wonderful staff and a great café. Food I went out for some errands but as it’s been very cold these days, I went looking for somewhere to have a rest, a warm drink and catch up on a bit of reading. I found Louie tucked away on the northern boundary of Liberty Village on King Street and ordered their London Fog for $4.75. I’d give it 5/5. It was great and to top it off, their teabags are sourced from Pluck. This café knows what they are doing. Pluck uses plastic-free tea bags that are compostable, petroleum free and green bin friendly. Service I’d give it 5/5 stars. The staff here are incredibly nice, helpful and warm. Drink arrived quickly, and they also had a washroom with a hook. Atmosphere I love it here, 5/5 again. It has this cozy feel, the energy of this place is very relaxed, it’s not loud, and it’s a great place to get comfortable and do a bit of reading or catch-up on a bit of work. What I absolutely love about places like this in Toronto is the love that they have for our community. Right behind where I was sitting, they have a Free Community DVD Movie Library where you can pick a DVD to borrow and share one of yours. It’s a small but beautiful gesture to see in the community, circulating that that warmth and love in small ways, while also giving the locals a peaceful, unique and nice place to have a warm drink and enjoy a good book.

Tried matcha latte for the first time and it wasn’t a good one sadly ! It’s a cozy place and the staff were friendly too.

These guys make the best coffee in liberty village, no doubt. Service is always friendly too, unlike Arvo and Brodflour. I appreciate that when ordering a larger sized drink, the amount of espresso you get increases, not just the volume of milk/water.

A hidden gem. Easily some of the best matcha in the city, using the best alternative milk (Milkadamia Barista Macadamia). Friendly staff. Great service. Lots of space to get work done. Big tables with great power outlets and nice window nooks.

Great coffee also tried onion pinwheel loved it. Barista was super friendly. Great Service.100% recommend.

Clean environment, good snack selection, and strong wifi. Perfect place to do work. Though just a little cold. Would give a 4 but felt this place is underrated.

the baristas who work here are SO sweet and friendly every time. this is a great spot to sit and do some work, read, or whatever you like to do at coffee shops! the window seat is perfect for people watching :)

This is a small cafe near Liberty village. They have good coffee, but indoor seating is not available. I recommend checking out if you are in the area for the coffee.

Friendly staff and good coffee! Didn't take a peak too close because I was trying to make a meeting at work, however it looks like they have some sustainable practices in place!

I was looking for Louie and almost missed it. The sign outside says only 'this is a coffee shop'. Makes it feel like a secret coffee shop. Playing 90s R&B, how cool! Food selection has salads, sandwiches, parfaits, muffins, bread and Craigs Cookies! Worth it alone! Staff was welcoming and friendly. Respectable Wifi speeds at 56/84 and there are electrical power outlets. The cafe fits about 14. There were seats available when I came by. Good espresso. I've added Louie to my cafes great for working at in Toronto!

Chill and cool spot to sit down for your coffee. It's only open during the weekdays near Liberty Village so no hopes of getting that coffee during on a Saturday. I was finally able to try this spot after seeing it on several coffee spot lists for Toronto. It has a hipster industrial vibe and lots of tables for your to sit down to work. When I went it was a light crowd so there was more than enough tables for a few lap tops. The noise wasn't too much so it isn't a distracting spot. In addition to their coffee, they had Glory Hole donuts, some packaged salads, and a decent amount of baked goods. I did spy PB so for those who are having nut allergies, unfortunately you probably need to head somewhere else for a snack. Service here is friendly and plentiful. There was at least 4 people behind the counter on a random late Thursday afternoon. Usually I only spy one or two at most in other places so this was a pleasant change. Flat White with almond milk - Though it was made quickly, I probably wouldn't have mind if the barista spent a few more minutes on it. I'm not sure what happened but this was not a good drink. When it was handed to me, it was just warm and by the time I walked to my car just parked outside on the street on a summer day, I could have chugged it if I wanted to. Also, there was way too much overfrothed foam that looks more like a Starbucks cappuccino. The flavour was unfortunate as well... diluted heavily by too much milk. It was closer to a latte... I think it could have been decent. From what I tasted, the beans lean towards a nuttier note but I really can't tell cause it was so watered down. 3/5 For Liberty Village, there's a vacancy of any good coffee spot... Starbucks definitely doesn't count. Sadly Louie Craft doesn't quite get the drinks either to make this one a spot to come back. It's sad to say head to over to Ossington for a good cup but it's the only one nearby.

A much needed coffee spot, let me rephrase that, proper coffee house in this area of king street west. Walking in definitely blares an indie feel with its logo prominent on the wall and cute little idioms on napkins but especially above the door. 'this is a coffee shop.' Pretty funny. Great to see the line ups of folks waiting for their order. It's unsuspecting sign and mini sandwich board might make you think people haven't discovered this little gem. Worthwhile place to visit. They use social coffee for their brews. Solid latte and an assortment of treats to choose from.

This place is usually great. Not sure who was working Sept 30 afternoon.mage isn't very friendly. And she doesn't know how to make a vanilla latte. She also gave me sugar and then walked away without giving me a stir stick. Then tried to kick someone out for having 3 people in at once. I would have been gone if she had given me a stir stick.

Cute little spot hidden away. I can't judge their coffee as I just hopped in for a water but I've heard great things. Seem to be very limited to what they sell but and the snacks they had on display looked a bit stale. I would come back to try a coffee in the future to see if it's as good as people say.

This is a trendy place. There are many young crowds and this seems to be very popular place in local. Small coffee is $2.00. It is okay. I can work there for a while. Staff are pleasant and kind not super friendly. Many people are relaxing and chatting. Even though there are people with laptops, it is more socializing place than working place. They have baked goods and these are typical items for coffee shop. It is a standard non franchize coffee place.

Coffee here is excellent and has ruined me for other Java in the city. Have tried a Nutella cookie and also a mini butter tart - both delicious. Seems like a chill spot to hang out or do some work in, but I have only ever taken my drink and treat to go. Yay Louie!!

Louie - Toronto. Great tea lattes. Pastries and coffee not so good, it was kind of acid.

Excellent coffee with the accuracy and perfection of a great barista. The pastries are excellent from the brownies, cookies and carrot cake. For lunch they have a series of fresh baguettes with different fillings. Cool atmosphere and free WiFi.

Reliable place for a good americano. Staff are great. Cookies are really good. Love this place. Sandwiches are good but pricey. They sometimes have kimbap which is a nice change up for lunch.

I found the espresso bitter. They did have almond and coconut mil though which is a plus. I also enjoyed the strawberry scone I had. Didn't have to wait long either for the drinks to be made.

Louie Craft Coffee is a quaint little gem on the outskirts of Liberty Village/Parkdale and it is one of the nicest coffee shops around!!! With a nice, warm decor + a fantastic layout, his place is sure to be a success for many years to come!! They have such a warm, friendly staff on board, and I always leave here with a smile on my face to start my day! :) Opt for ANY java-based drink of choice, and make sure to pair it with any of the mouth-watering desserts or sandwiches available (I usually go for the Brie and Walnut sandwich w/ balsamic and the iced carrot cake for good measure!) Louie easily has my vote for BEST coffee place in Liberty Village!

Very authentic flat white here, friendly staff, comfy environment. It is a small gem on King St west, I was here only for a while but already liked it here. Free wifi available and just enjoy the coffee time for a little bit leisure

This is a neat little coffee shop in the carpet district, literally right beside the shoeless Joe's, this place used to be a hair salon Called Redd, it is now the home to this neat indy coffee shop called Louie, named after one of the owners's dog. Jo, one of the owners, boasts years of experience in the bean and tea industry, yet still has the passion of a green bean. What's super cool is that most of the store's renovation, including the long wooden bench with gas pipe stand just outside the stores east walls, are all hand made, mostly by Jo's father.

I love the old brick building this coffee shop is in and exposed brick inside shop. Nice selection of specialty caffeinated drinks and treats to pair w it. Service Is friendly and inviting. You're instantly felt welcome in this environment and the people working here are great conversationalists. Prices are standard for the drinks and they can be kind of mild in taste but quite good. It is a bit hidden and blends in with the building but that makes it quite cozy.

Everything about this spot is perfect! The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable about coffee. The space is bright, airy, and full of character. The coffee is fantastic, made with with tasty and high quality beans, and there's always new blends coming in. If you're hungry, go for a scone, chocolate chip sea salt cookie, or a donut if you're lucky to grab one! This is the ultimate neighbourhood cafe and I'm proud to call it my own! Now let's convince them to open on weekends!

This is my daily spot in liberty village. I'm a coffee snob and they produce a consistently good coffee. The owners and staff are super friendly and its impeccably clean. I come here every morning, the balzaks down the street and the Starbucks nearby have nothing on this. Their lunch sandwiches are also pretty spot on. Stop by for a friendly good coffee/espresso and not too loud of an atmosphere.

Wow! Amazing little espresso bar. They take great care on all their drinks. Great quality beans (from Social), high end equipment, and they know how to use it. They pull great shots, and make a fine cappuccino or latte. It's also a nice quiet spot to pull out your laptop, and work for a bit.

Finally had a chance to check this cafe out. Had some cookies as I was craving for it. I had nutella and coffee toffee. Since I had it to go I warmed them up at home and man it was good I esp like the nutella one. I liked the vibe of the cafe. Clean and cozy. Staff was nice too. Will definitely get some cup of joe here to try the next time!

First of all, the space is very nice - a bit stereotypical for a Hipster Indie Coffee House but i can't really complain, the style is popular for a reason. Super delicious latte, technologically proficient servers, friendly staff - can't wait to go back. Seems to be the best coffee option in Liberty Village and it basically beats everything else in terms of price for what you get. The hot chocolate and pastries look great, but I'm trying to watch my weight! Maybe soon :(

My favourite coffee spot in the city. The staff are super friendly and make a point to remember your name and your coffee of choice. The cookies and sandwiches are super delicious and fresh. Free high speed WiFi and power sockets all around. Bright, airy and cozy. What else can you ask for? A++++!

Very cute little coffee shop. Impeccably clean, I couldn't see one thing out of place or anything needing even a wipe. Wonderfully friendly staff. Very reasonably priced great selection. Offering skim, almond, soy and lactose free milk. The ambiance is bright and warm. I love the yellow tables with suede lining around the edges. I had a london fog which had a lovely flavour and was made to perfection. They also have a loyalty program you must check in to before you order. I assume they have free wifi, as everyone else had a laptop. Would definitely go back.

The best way to start you day is with a fine coffee product crafted by great people. if you in the area I highly recommend that you stop by. Try the Flat White ..you will not be disappointed.

very respectable locally sourced coffee. high quality beans and machines with knowledgeable owners who live in the area and staff the shop personally. solid, proper espresso, very nice americano. simple pastries and not much food for now, which is fine by me because they take their coffee seriously. pleasant brick-and-beam interior makes a nice addition to an otherwise fairly dead strip of king street. free wifi, good music. decent place to hang with a laptop. not necessarily a place you'd travel far to experience because there's not much else in the direct area, but for those working or living nearby or passing through, Louie's is definitely worth a visit.

Their drip coffee is nothing special. Small and cute place. Haven't had their specialty coffees to judge those.

Haven't had a chance to try their food yet, but the drinks are spectacular. Both hot and cold coffee beverages are very well prepared by skilled baristas. Extremely friendly staff and great casual atmosphere. My go-to coffee place in Liberty Village.

Louie Coffee is the best--wonderful espresso, fresh baked goods (get the chocolate banana bread!), healthy green smoothies, surprisingly great lunch sandwiches, and the friendliest staff this side of Lake Ontario. I've gotten to know them over my morning coffee (and yes, banana bread) order every morning. You should too. Jo and Monica and co. are doing things the right way: using quality beans and equipment and truly caring about their customers.

Louie's americanos are what get me out of bed in the mornings. I work in advertising for an agency in Liberty Village and am relieved that we finally have a specialty coffee spot that delivers the goods. The staff in genuinely nice, real and make the neighbourhood feel more like a community. Oh and their sandwiches are amazing and a total deal! Fresh daily baked baguettes w/ brie & turkey for $7.50, common!

I would really like to love this place because it's super convenient, the lattes and Expresso are good but the customer service is not that great. I've been there a few times and every time the baristas were talking to each other loudly throughout our entire interaction and I felt invisible.

Found this place by accident today, and happy I did. Had the best cappuccino I've had in the city. Next time I end up there it won't be by chance!
