Louie M's Burgerlust

1/4/26 Edit: Came back recently and this place has really gone downhill. We got a table pretty fast but it took about 25 minutes to get waited on. Our server was frazzled from the start and rather inefficient, overall. She input several pieces of our order wrong, so when the food came out much of it was incorrect, but we’d waited so long we just lived with it. In terms of the food, it was mid at best. Eggs were overcooked, French toast was dry, gravy was still flavorless and from a can (though I was assured it wasn’t). The only good thing I had was something called Orsi bread. On top of that, the prices are rather high. A meal for two people (omelette and eggs Benedict) came to $48, and simply put, the food and service did not equal the cost. The rest of our party had a similar issues. I think I’ll pass on this place in the future. There is a Denny’s nearby and the food is comparable to that, and you won’t have to pay an arm and a leg. Louie M’s is a quaint breakfast/lunch spot with a great, friendly staff and solid food. They have a fun ambiance, with lots of kitschy decor. The pancakes were the standout, being both fluffy but slightly crispy on top. The biscuits and gravy were a little underwhelming, with the biscuits clearly from a bag. But everything else was quite good and this place is definitely worth a try.

Great spot for breakfast, brunch and lunch. Free coffee with any breakfast, great food and service! The prices are a bit high, since burgers are à la carte, but the portions are very large.

The best burger I’ve had in decades! The bread was so great and the meat was so tender! I like that you get to pick the toppings. I had 2 kids and they ate most of their meals (fish sticks and chicken tenders) which is uncommon so I know they loved it. I also got cheese fries which was so yummy, the cheese had a little bit of a kick and I loved it! I can’t wait to go back and try their weeknight specials sometime. Kids got crayons and coloring menu and cool twisty straws.

Old school feel (good vibes) with the brick and memorabilia to honor the name sake. Food was fresh, hot, and delicious. No reinventing the wheel so you won't get a new window into flavor, but it's... clean if that makes sense. Service is super attentive. Did not let me rest on an empty cup unless it was obvious I was ready to pay, while not being fussy or hovering. Side note. Coffee was actually fresh and combined with the atmosphere it was super cozy and satisfying.

I recommend this family owned restaurant! yummy foods! My family of 4 enjoyed all of our meals we chose! Amazing service! Happy, outgoing staff! They go above and beyond for you! Definitely check them out!

Fun place to grab a burger. The burgers were great. Lots of options. If you get a drink, they don’t have whiskey fyi. But there do have rum! I’m certainly impressed by the decorations and atmosphere. The old school sports pictures and results are awesome in the city of Omaha. The only downside was the fries. They were definitely not a highlight.

We were on our way back to Denver and deciding whether to just stop at McDonalds or try something local. Searched best breakfast near me and Louie's showed up. We were not disappointed. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by THE Louie, then pretty sure his son. We had two young ladies assist us that could not have been friendlier if they tried. We really enjoy places with character and charm, and this place is literally covered in it with historical posters, photos, and signs that are reminiscent of when neither them nor the place was considered historical. It is clear the diner has been very well cared for. The age is apparent, but it is very clean and comfortable. The food is simple in concept (diner food), but well executed in flavor. We had the Italian omelet, biscuits and gravy, SpongeBob French Toast, and kids egg and toast. I was intrigued by the Texas Chili omelet and will be trying that at home but know I won't make it as good as it likely is at Louie's. When I got the check, I was shocked it didnt cost more. The other places I eye-balled definitely would have. This was such a comfortable place, and we did not regret our choice.

The burger patty made the burger. Real meat and obviously hand done. The meat was high quality. Got a chance to talk to the owner and found out the meat is delivered daily from a family owned local meat processor (bonus: you get to support two local businesses at one time when you eat here). The food is simple and real. The flavor feels wholesome. The service is friendly and familiar. I was fortunate enough to watch the restaurant fill up with regulars for lunch and hear them all greeted by name. A restaurant that had that many happy regulars has some magic. I'm pretty sure it is the family that owns and operates it. The neighborhood it is in is on the upswing with so many cool historic building. The restaurant has all the eclectic charm and character that it's years of history would demand. All around a great spot for lunch. I look forward to trying breakfast, here.

We have had a highly satisfying breakfast at Burger Lust many times and today was no exception. A few things have changed since we were last here, but the most important things stayed the same. The inside still has that homey, diner vibe with a pay phone on the wall in the next room, brick walls and interesting antiques on display. One change is the paper menus the size of placemats. I much prefer those to the plastic ones that to me felt syrup sticky. Also the same is the array of condiments on the table-- you don't have to ask for it, it's already there. The service and food were excellent as usual. Bookguy had overeasy eggs, English muffin, ham steak, and a sheaf of perfect hashbrowns. My breakfast consisted of a veggie omelette, the same generous hashbrowns, and a biscuit. I love the biscuits with strawberry jam. The only thing that marred our visit was the strong cigarette odor that came in with a customer. We thought he must be one of those heavy smokers who always wear that scent like cologne. Later we decided it was coming from outside because there's outdoor seating, where smokers sit. It was of short duration, so not a big issue and didn't keep us from enjoying our meal.

Such a cool place. Historical. Free coffee with every breakfast meal. French toast was outstanding. Awesome service & people--super fast!!!

Great Omaha burger place! Wife had the chorizo scrambled and I had the Trish burger. Chorizo was excellent and fresh. The half pound burger was tasty and not greasy. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

Omaha gem! Had tomato soup and BLT for a Tuesday lunch special and it was delicious. Staff seems great. It's a hidden gem in town, come enjoy!

The food is really good. Service great. BUT...WHY IN THE WORLD DONT RESTAURANT OWNERS EVER LOOK UP????? Everything above eye level is gross and filthy. Especially in the older side. I would be afraid to eat under those fans if they were running! Clean above eye level for gods sake.

First time visiting. As soon as we walked in there was a strong odor of something like chemicals or cleaner. It didn't bother us too much though. The waiter greeted us and sat us down immediately. Husband ordered a cheeseburger with a fried egg and I ordered the guacamole bacon burger. It only took about 10 mins for the food to come out. They forgot the fried egg for my husbands burger but the waiter had them add it. I was slightly disappointed with the guacamole on the guacamole burger. It looked like it came out of a store bought tube. I was expecting home made guacamole and it just didn't taste or look like it. The burger itself was big and juicy but the guac threw it all off. Overall, I was not impressed with my food but the place was nice and the waiter was attentive and friendly so I will be giving them a second chance and returning to try out the breakfast.

All around a great local place to come to. The food comes out fast and hot. And it's delicious! The staff are on point from the welcome to the service keeping our drinks full. They keep a clean business. The ambiance is old town Omaha. Lots of history, very cool.

Great local spot for a good diner style meal! Came here with coworkers this morning for breakfast and had a great time. Didn't feel rushed, had a table to accommodate us and always were refilling waters. Meal was good, the selection of toast was great! I got raisin toast! Overall it is pricey but the breakfast comes with a lot! The ham and cheese omelette is very good and you can tell the ham is good quality. Expensive but worth it imo.

Burgers and onion rings were fantastic. We would gladly take the family back here. Service was good and extremely attentive.

Louie M's is a great breakfast and lunch spot. It's 2 small spaces, one a small diner and the other an older brick building. You can customize almost everything on the menu, and you'll find something you'll love. I usually go for breakfast, but the burgers are great too. The owners are attentive and hardworking. Highly recommend.

Been coming here since I was 8 years old, excellent service always happy to attend you, food is always on time and delicious. this time I went I was attended by Adan such a lovely guy definitely deserves a raise for his customer service and hard work keep it up louie M's burger lust doing a great job.

Great burger, old school diner vibe with great service. Burger was awesome, as well as the giant portion of a chorizo breakfast.

Very good diner; burgers are tasty and gigantic. The verde pork stew is the gem of the menu IMO, rich with layers of flavor. Service was friendly and we had a good time. Check out the old timey stove on the right hand side, it fits right in with the decor.

I don't mean any disrespect to the burgers or the lunch menu, but I think this semi old school diner-influenced restaurant should be called Louie M's Breakfast Lust. You've got breakfast sandwiches, eggs and omelets, breakfast breads and more. I especially like the "Ole" portion of the menu, which features your favorite South-of-the-border-themed dishes. All served in heaping portions. I highly recommend the Huevos Rancheros. It's a busy and popular place. A wait will form during peak times.

Local. Breakfast. This is a place that once you have tried it, it will be on the list to come to each time your in Omaha or on your routine if you live here. The service is hands down awesome. The servers were nice, engaging and really seem to care about what they are doing. Great group of people. They will tell you all about the specials which all sound amazing. The food, that is what you want to read about. Now this is a "burger" shop nestled in a neighborhood but really it's THE BREAKFAST PLACE. Slider - ok this isn't just a sausage, egg and cheese on a dinner roll (yes it is) but it's a huge piece of sausage and absolutely wonderful. Ordering one you will be disappointed because you will want another. Trust me on this...lather this up with strawberry or grape jelly and you have a sweet and savory breakfast sandwich. Pancake - THE CAKE - holy moly talk about plate size with some depth. check out the picture, you aren't leaving hungry. Breakfast burrito - ok when I read the menu I honestly thought about asking for the green chili pork sauce on the side - but this stuff makes the plate. A hint of spice is just perfect add to the bacon sausage Hashbrown burrito mix. Absolutely enjoyed it....don't let the size deceive you it's a lot of food. Definitely enjoyed our experience.

is a very bad service, bad quality in products and very expensive. They hay a worst Italian food in town!

Edit I just realized I've left two reviews lol oops Our new favorite breakfast spot. Each servers are so nice so are the ones that clean the tables. Food is good. Atmosphere is good and the prices are decent coffee comes with your breakfast I guess depending on what you're ordering and if you don't get hashbrowns and toast, they take a couple dollars off.

Louie M's never disappoints. They have something for everyone. Breakfast, brunch, & lunch! The staff is incredibly welcoming and you always get checked on to make sure you have everything you need. They provide an assortment of hot sauces on the table to spice up your meal. The Bloody Mary is perfect.

Found out about this place from a friend recently after years of living in the area. Some of the best breakfast food we've ever had here in Omaha. Still have yet to try a burger (was going to try one for dinner only to see they are only a brunch place and close at 3 all week), but all the breakfast dishes have been phenomenal. The green chili in particular is something special not seen in other Midwestern joints east of Colorado. I like to smother everything with it. The ambiance is a diner classic--we only have a few of these left in the US, so we need to keep them alive. The service is great, they keep a keen eye on your coffee, filling it up very frequently. Truly a great restaurant. The only downside are it's hours, but beggars can't be choosers.

We grabbed some take out on the way home from the zoo for lunch. I decided to try their Italian Burger based on their recommendation and I definitely see why. It was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time! Perfect combination of parmesan and mozzarella cheeses with their marinara sauce on the side - yum! You have a variety of side options to choose from as well. I saw pictures of their onion rings so I went with those. Highly recommend them. Flakey and crunchy, but not overly greasy, just the way I like my onion rings. My wife had their chicken Philly. Their chicken was tender and seasoned well (I tried a bite so I could comment) but I still preferred my burger ;) I'd love to come back to try their breakfast options because they looked just as good as my lunch when I went inside to pick it up!

Food was fine, but just basic. Nothing to get too excited about. The amount of condiments on my table was pretty amusing though

Well I went to Burger Lust for the first time. Was really craving a buyer today. Now I must admit I am the type that like thin, crispy charred burgers. Burger lust are good size burger but it had a good char on it. Great flavor too. I ordered the Swiss mushroom burger and added sautéed jalapeños to it. It was very delicious! Bun was toasted nicely as well. Now anyone that knows me knows I love corned beef hash. I noticed on their menu they have homemade corned beef hash! So I'm Look forward to my next visit to burger lust

Service is awesome! Food is great too but everyone here is concerned with you having a great meal. We came here for breakfast. I didn't feel like eggs so I opted for a Rueben. The corned beef was tender, bread toasted just right and sauce to the right amount. The bite of cinnamon roll I was able to steal from my son was fluffy with a sweet frosting. My husband had the 'Three Pigs' (bacon, sausage and ham) that he was very happy to finish. Refills on pop on point, alcohol available if you want to start Saturday off with a bang...or just help with Friday night recovery, and numerous hot sauces on the table to add a little spice to your meal.

Best burger in Omaha! Cool dive bar/diner chilli cheese fries and burger for days I good beer, bloody Mary's all so good!

Pretty good Burgers and even better breakfast. The atmosphere is one of the better parts but it was enjoyable to sit down.

The best burger and service I've had in a long time! Prices were easy on the pocketbook and the selections were amazing.

First things first, the Bloody Mary here is one of the very best I have ever had. Worth a trip here for one of those alone. It seems like this joint is always busy, but they have the room for everyone in there. The burgers as the name suggests are amazing and the fries compliment them very well. They have large selection of burgers, sandwiches, soups and Great Breakfast choices. The service was super to say the least. It is obvious to me that Louie M's has been around for awhile and for good reason. I really love a place where the owners greet you and make sure you have what you need. Sadly, places like this are few and far between. I sure am glad Louis M's is not that far away from me, because I will be going back sooner rather than later. Do not hesitate to get the Clam Chowder it is delicious

Absolutely great food! Everyone was friendly while the place was hopping busy. Capri is a doll and a hoot. Did I mention that the food was fantastic?! Very cool nostalgia if you're in to old buildings. Loved it.

Food incredible Staff friendly but overworked. Really loved the breakfast offerings here. Had the egg sandwich and hashbrowns. One of those places you could return multiple times in order to try everything on the menu. Casual dining room. Street parking, but oddly plentiful. Lots of group tables and individual tables as well. Menu oddity: Pepsi fountain products, but real cane sugar Coca-Cola bottled in Mexico.

Great home made breakfasts and lunch. Friendly staff and the ambience is really fun. It is situated in a quiet South Omaha neighborhood. It sits in an old drug store and extends into a next door building that was once a theater, very cool. Burgers naturally are good. Home made corned beef hash is worth a trip across town. Ask for Orsi's toast with your breakfast. Highly recommended.

Cool blast from the past diner with a character of a waitress. Ordered: dijon mushroom swiss burger with fries (LOVE that this place doesn't make their burgers and fries overly salty, fries are more like thinner and slightly floppy like McD's), side of wheat toast (oldie but goodie with the butter), and a dinner salad (they accidentally brought out the classic chef salad w/ pita bread which costs more but charged me for the dinner salad price). Shoutout to the many hot sauces, jams, coffee sugar/cream, butter, and other fixin's, just about everything you need already on the table. Between the friendly staff, and the leftovers that fed me for 4 breakfasts, this place was great.

The previous night our neighbors were saying "You gotta try Louie M's for the best burgers" and I need very little convincing to go eat a burger. My husband grew up going here because his family is rooted in Omaha. Me...not so much so it was a treat to get to experience a bit of his childhood. The restaurant has a very nostalgic Omaha feel to it. Names and signs longtime residents should be able to recognize. We headed this way after church today and only had to wait maybe 10 minutes before our table of 6 (2 adults, 4 kids) were seated. The place was packed which tells me it's a not-so-secret Omaha staple. Our server was very friendly and quick with the drinks. In fact, every stop was appropriately spaced out (food order, food drop off, food check in, refills, etc.) I also LOVE places where it seems that servers work together to help deliver food, refills, etc. Louie M's definitely showed they have teamwork- makes for more efficient service and happy guests. My husband and I ordered the Guac and Mushroom/Swiss burgers to share and an order of onion rings. Our kids did pancakes and chicken fingers :) The burgers were really good and juicy. The flavor of the guac burger was incredible where the mushroom and swiss fell a bit flat for me. From what I could tell, very little seasoning goes on the actual meat and they rely on the toppings to flavor the burger. I think some salt and pepper would have gone a long way for the mushroom and swiss burger. The onion rings were also huge and crunchy, but would've loved a bit of seasoning on them too. The cherry on top was the owner walking around and engaging with each table. He was helping buss, interacted with our kids, and checked in on us while we were there. Overall, happy with our experience! My husband and I both agreed we would be ordering the guac burger for ourselves the next time we go.

Saw the episode on diners and drive in's. Came by and got a huge half pound burger and cheese fries. The burger was delicious and they did not skimp on the cheese fries. When I am back in Omaha I will be back.

I would do 4.75 stars if I could lol I didn't like the coffee at all but everything else was amazing. We sat at the counter. Our waitress was very friendly and very good at her job. I got the chicken philly with peppers onion and mushrooms with a side of fries. Husband got Cajun burger with a side of onion rings. Truly when I tell you every single part of our food was delicious. Down to the perfectly toasted bread used for my sandwich. The ranch is probably Kraft brand, mixed with ketchup makes a nice fry sauce. Husband said his burger was so good he considered ordering another one but then he would've been miserably full. Eat here! Support local! The food is very good.

After the Zoo we were looking for something simple and classic. We also wanted to be able to sit down and enjoy ourselves. BIL2 picked this place and it was a great choice. Our full order consisted of 2 Chef Salads, 2 Chocolate Malts, 3 Cheeseburgers, 1 Veggie Burger, Chicken Tenders, 1 basket of fries and 1 basket of onion rings. The salads were good, pretty standard, however they were so huge, both Mother's thought they should have gotten one and spilt it. The 3 who got the cheeseburgers noticed the server didn't ask how they wanted their burgers cooked. I got the veggie burger so I couldn't really chime in on that. Each did say that their Burgers were nice and juicy. My veggie burger was topped with onions Green peppers and Swiss cheese. I like to eat veggie burgers at home and because of the simple flavor of them I always add hot sauce. So just like home, I added Sriracha to my burger as if it were ketchup and it was delicious! This also keeps my burger from getting eaten by anyone else because others in the party think Sriracha is hot. We are our way through our meal and had a lovely time conversing as well. The servers were all wonderful and very helpful when I was asking questions in the beginning about different dishes. This place is great and I know I'd come back here again.

I was quite disappointed I chose to come to this place (only because I could not enjoy the food) My family loved their burgers and we will definitely be returning when I am also able to enjoy food.. Service was phenomenal even though I was under the weather and could only enjoy about 4 bites of soup...

Breakfast was great. Corned beef hash was clearly homemade and crispy. Waitress was helpful and fun! Interesting old school vibe.

I had the breakfast burrito with green salsa. It was very tasty and filling. My daughter had the chili burger and loved it. The waitress was very nice, funny and friendly. I would suggest stopping in for sure. I am not from Nebraska however I felt very welcome and my family loved the food Bacon Cheeseburger, Chili Cheese Burger.

Really good own Louie M's was as good as reviews made it appear. Our burgers were sub par and the fries average. Service was okay and the restaurant appeared clean. Not much to say about this one. Happy eating Yelpers!

Great place for breakfast, can't wait to try the biscuits & gravy next time. I had a burger & it was good, could use some more seasoning for my liking. But the meat was good and it was a huge patty! I also prefer my guac chunky w chunks of avocado and this was very smooth, almost seemed like fake avocado but I don't believe it was. Lots of condiments, employees are friendly, and it is a nice comfy atmosphere. Will be coming back to try the breakfast, I really want some pancakes & biscuits & gravy. A few friends and I have decided to try local restaurants and this was our first choice. Was greeted got a table right away. Wasn't super busy but probably due to Covid. We came during dinner (which they only offer on Friday and Saturday.) Loved the old cafe style and seemed to be a lot of regulars inside as the waitresses knew their names. Ordered the Trish Burger with black olives with a chocolate shake. Everything came out great and was one of the better hamburgers I've had in awhile. All hamburgers come with fries and 1 onion ring. Overall this place was great and wished I'd heard of it years ago. They are known for the breakfast and I'm looking forward to trying their breakfast menu!

Hungry for a good thick tasty burger- go here. I'd give it a 4.5 if I could. Had the Italian burger - so big really couldn't help eat the cheese fries. Restaurant is clean and old fashion. Stuff was wonderful & attentive. We were glad to have experienced this place.
