A Culinary Gem in Cos Cob: Louie's Restaurant Shines Bright I recently had the pleasure of dining at Louie's Restaurant in Cos Cob, and I must say, it was an experience to remember. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was captivated by the inviting ambiance and warm atmosphere. The culinary journey began with an impressive array of appetizers that tantalized the taste buds and left me eager for more. Each dish was meticulously crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, showcasing the chef's expertise and passion for culinary excellence. As the evening progressed, I was treated to a feast for the senses. The main courses were nothing short of extraordinary, with each dish bursting with flavor and presented with elegance. Whether it was the perfectly seared seafood or the succulent cuts of meat, every bite was a testament to the skill and creativity of the kitchen team. Of course, no meal at Louie's would be complete without indulging in one of their decadent desserts. From rich chocolate creations to delicate pastries, each sweet treat was a delightful finale to an unforgettable dining experience. Beyond the exceptional food, the service at Louie's was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond to ensure that every guest felt welcomed and well taken care of. In conclusion, Louie's Restaurant is a true gem in Cos Cob, offering not only outstanding cuisine but also a dining experience that is second to none. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a memorable meal, I highly recommend paying a visit to Louie's. You won't be disappointed. Five stars all around! [Your Name]

Google
An incredibly charming Italian fine dining experience with delicious pastas salads and antipasti. Though a bit noisy in the otherwise splendidly appointed and cozy back room, the attention to detail made for a very special dinner. Food a bit pricey but portions were generous. Don't skip desert either which was delicious and an excellent number of choices from chocolate mousse to blueberry pie. And of course tiramisu.

Google
Food is mediocre. We kept going back thinking maybe it was just an off-night, but every night seems to be an off-night there. The straw that broke the camels back was when we had a reservation & had to wait 45 mins past for our table. Horrible hospitality. Food isn’t anywhere close to good enough to wait that long for a reservation.

Google
Delicious meal, great ambience and attentive service! The filet mignon was cooked perfectly with a crispy crust, and the black truffle fettuccine was rich but not too heavy. can't wait to go back!

Google
Verry good Italian with great service in Cos Cob/Riverside. My go to for a nice pasta dish. The plus is the half price bottle of wine on Mondays and Tuesdays during the summer.

Google
Great ambiance and character. I enjoyed every minute of my visit to my surprise guest at my table (the moose) to the fireplace and the Italian decor. My Shrimp Diavolo was exquisite. I ordered pineapple upside down cake and I can't even describe the yumminess (if that is even a word). I would definitely recommend it.

Google
Hi love, this restaurant in Cos Cob, Connecticut. I wanted to find a traditional, old-school Italian restaurant, and this is it. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. The people are so friendly and the food is excellent. I like traditional Italian food, not nouvelle cuisine! This is where to go if you like steak, pasta, or seafood. Their chicken Parmesan is excellent. They have a large wine selection, and a great bar area where you can have a dinner or a party of 12. The only dish I’ve ever heard anyone complain about in my groups is the pasta Primavera. But everything else has been great. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want traditional Italian food.

Google
Ordered family style. All three entrees were great. Traditional Cesar salad.

Yelp
Went for my birthday, nice atmosphere, quiet Christmas music. Service was good and the food was good as well. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants an atmosphere of loudness plus great music.

Yelp
Pasta dishes were great. Got a big app platter of clams and shrimp. Split one of the pasta dishes, and they brought it over split, which was super nice and not even requested. Bar at the front was pretty busy ended up at a table after getting one drink

Victoria A.

Yelp
This is as fine as Italian cuisine gets. The restaurant has valet parking and clean bathrooms. I have eaten there many times with my family. The desserts are sensational. I don't drink booze so I don't know about the cocktails. The decor is lovely. They take major credit cards and cash. The books on the shelves are authored by some Yale graduates. I have had the shrimp, the veal, the chicken, the lobster pasta and some lamb.

Yelp
This restaurant came highly recommended by a neighbor and a friend. I was told to get a table in the bar area so I did. Restaurant has a cool feel of a local pub with few regulars sitting at the bar and guests at tables along side the wall. I noticed they also had rooms with tables off to the side. Hostess was friendly and sat us down immediately. We scanned the menu and ordered Fried Calamari which was very good, if not one of the best I had so far in Greenwich. We also ordered eggplant rolatini and it was ok. For main course hubby got Pasta with seafood and told me it was very, very good. I got the Chicken Romana and I must say it surprised me. Great flavors and the portion was generous, I love to eat so I left satisfied. I took one star off because of the server Oscar. He was friendly but not good at making sure we had our drinks. Liquor is where they make $. My husband had to waive for his attention to get his drink, and when I finished my drink he walked over grabbed my glass and never asked if I'd like another. Never even had a chance to ask as he practically ran away. I signaled the Bar Mate and asked her for another. Don't they realize booz is expensive which increases the total bill and that increases the tip??? I did 20% but with hesitation. I will definitely return for the food.

Yelp
Super cool place! Pretty small on the inside, cool decor and great ambiance. Dishes are on the expensive side but very good! I enjoyed the steak a lot as well as the shrimp appetizer. Service was very friendly and fast. Would go here again!!
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
Dinner here was fairly good. I had the chicken romana and my wife the Bronzino. Both pretty good but nothing great. Prices are high for what you get. All in all not bad but there are better options in Greenwich.
google avatar

Steph H.

Yelp
Excellent service. Accommodating and extremely nice and polite staff. The vibe is cozy and it's always packed so you know it's good. The food comes out so fast and it's hot and fresh. The prices are good for the portions which are so big and delicious. The food was so delicious. We shared a special salad with frisée pecans, gorgonzola, hearts of palm, mango, beets and orange. We also shared the burrata which was creamy and huge. I got the branzino which was delicious warm and perfectly cooked. Definitely feels like a homey classic Italian place. I'll definitely be back.

Lily C.

Yelp
We were there Saturday evening and the restaurant was packed. Luckily we were seating without waiting. It's a very friendly atmosphere but noisy, very noisy! Food is what an Italian restaurant offers, it was nothing to brag about. Overall, we had a pleasant evening. It was suggested to tip $4 for valet parking, we brougt two cars so it was almost $10 we had to spend extra to park.

Nancy D.

Yelp
Louie's is great. Best vodka sauce. Best veal nostro and veal rollatini and if u go in don't be afraid that it's somewhat adjacent to that horrid hellhole Villa Nueva, where the owner is both abusive and anti-female.
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
Classic old timey Italian spot with excellent food and service. Our server was the perfect amount of friendly and fast. Really good marinara (make sure to get a side of this if you order the zucchini and carrot appetizer) Unnecessary valet parking though being the parking lot is right at the side of the restaurant. Also we didn't get bread! The other tables did so I'll know to ask for it at the start of the meal next time. Even though these two things were a bit annoying the delicious food definitely makes up for it!

Yelp
Ok, I'll say it again, yes we must patronize restaurants to help them survive the crazy Pandemic we're living with, but, with a capital B, as a restaurant, you have to do you're part too. I was in Cos Cob, Ct., and found "Louie's " on Yelp. First, it appears that they have a parking lot but , like most restaurants, they've erected a tent for outdoor seating. So I find a parking spot and we're in. Yes all Covid protocols are in place. We opt to sit inside because it's a little chilly outside. I guess most restaurants will have a challenge with outdoor seating as the winter rolls in. MORE REASON TO BE ON TOP OF YOUR GAME. My wife orders Chicken Parm, the same dish she orders in any Italian restaurant we go to. I go with one of their specials, two color pasta with shrimp and lobster and a white wine sauce. First, the chicken parm. My wife says "Yuk", very bland. Well a little disclosure, her name is Karen, and she fits the name. Still love her. I taste her meal, and she is correct. Although it sure looked like chicken it has no taste at all. Next my meal. Yes jumbo shrimp, but taste was just off, not fresh shrimp as far as I'm concerned, and the pasta was flavorless. The lobster, well a lobster tail that was like a piece of rubber. I gave two stars because the staff was on point. Very pleasant and delivered the food perfectly. The decor was old Italian which I liked. BTW, we had an app of fried Calamari. No comment. Sorry a big disappointment. Won't be back but the owner should take a close look at the food their serving and maybe step it up a few notches.

Chris G.

Yelp
The new owner has turned this place around. I love Louie's as a neighborhood casual red sauce Italian restaurant. Great food. Great service. I love the bar scene when I want to watch a game with a buddy and have a proper cocktail. Keep up the good work, Pav!
google avatar

Jon H.

Yelp
Great local spot in Cos Cob. It has a lovely bar scene and a spacious dining room. Our food was delicious. We had the chicken Parm and steak. They also have some great bar bites!

John B.

Yelp
Love this place. As close to "original" as you get here in Greenwich and frequent since coming up from the city in 2020
google avatar

Yelp
A solid typical Italian family style food. A tad more sophisticated than comparable Italian restaurants further north in CT. Very reasonable prices for lunch (based on the venue and location), with a discrete and efficient service. Bonus: the drive to get there! From the Den Rd exit on the Merritt to the restaurant is a lovely twisty road. Enjoy it at a slow pace, it is part of the experience going to this restaurant.
google avatar

Kevin O.

Yelp
Neighborhood bar/pub good food pasta fagioli soup is pretty good menu is mixed with mostly Italian dishes nice fireplace in backroom for winter. Parking is valet pretty tight.

James P.

Yelp
Really shouldn't have a bartender working on a Friday night who has to look up how to make a drink on their phone and then make it poorly cause it then ruins the entire night and experience. real shame.
google avatar

Chuck E.

Yelp
I was a bit disappointed. Also, people who knew this place said there are so many better. The couple who brought us are locals so we figured why not. We went on a Thurs night and the place was empty. I also probably ordered the wrong thing. The others in my party seemed to like theirs, but my wife was disappointed as well.

Cindy M.

Yelp
This Restaurant is local treasure! Consistently delicious dishes with excellent service. Lovely warm setting and the bar is fabulous. One of my absolute favorite spots in Greenwich.

Greg M.

Yelp
Overall, I would give a 4.5 but don't have that option. Ambiance - Bar Room (5/5): The bar room at Louie's is great. Great atmosphere and very lively. During the holiday's it is very festive. Service (5/5): Excellent service. The servers are attentive and very helpful in choosing meals and allowing for (slight) modifications for the meals. Food (5/5): Louie's serves solid Italian food. We have eaten here countless times so difficult to go over each dish we have had. In summary, I have really enjoyed the Shrimp Adria (app), Calamari (app), most of the pastas, particularly the Penne all Vodka and the Rigatoni Nonna, and pretty much all of the veal dishes. The Chicken Louie's is great!! The Caesar salad was not bad, but it was not our favorite. Value (4/5): A little on the expensive side.

Yelp
Eat in is fine, pick up is fine, delivery is NOT. Took almost a hour and half for dinner and someone kept hanging up at the restaurant when i called to check on my delivery never got through

Yelp
The food was good. Our company was great. However, there were three things we were VERY put off by: 1. The waiter didn't know when to approach and when to retreat. My friend was in a serious conversation about his health and the waiter kept interrupting, over 5 times. The person during water kept interrupting over and over and filling our glasses like we were in the desert. Waitstaff should understand that while we are there to eat, we may also be catching up after a year or years of not seeing each other. Eating to us was secondary. Please be considerate, read the facial expressions of your guests. Know when to approach and when to hold back. 2. The General Manager kept clapping his hands at his waitstaff like they were horses. It's unnecessary to treat waitstaff like this. And, having eaten in thousands of restaurants all over the world, I've never seen anything like this. There is a sense of bravado, and hubris that was very uncomfortable, like the waitstaff wasn't moving too fast for him. The waitstaff looked uncomfortable. 3. Totally disappointed in the prices. $26 for Penne with Sausage and cream sauce? What? It's a shame that they get away with this. That's $7 worth of product with a 300% markup. I will probably never eat there again. Too bad.

Max S.

Yelp
So I overheard someone talking about Louie's just a few days ago. I knew they way they were talking they knew homemade Italian food. I was right! Great quality, great price (for area) absolutely feel like I was in grandma's kitchen. Great price point on wines and a great pour. Old school atmosphere so come dressed relaxed and yes the cheese cake is actually ricotta!! Thanks for a great meal
google avatar

Yelp
Atmosphere Great, Food OK A group of us repaired to Louie's for lunch after tramping around nearby Pomerance/Montgomery Pinetum Park, owed by the Town of Greenwich. Louie's has a lot of character, and on a weekday at lunchtime it wasn't very crowded so we weren't rushed by staff. Most of us ordered either meatball or Italian sausage sandwiches, washed down by good beer. In a town of wine bars featuring healthy but overpriced portions, Louie's is a throwback to an earlier era.

Yelp
I like this place a lot. Pleasant atmosphere, nice professional staff, and great food. They have done a great job with COVID protocols too.

Yelp
food was great as usual. bill was curious. 2 deserts were added we did not order. when i pointed it out, waiter said it was the bill for the other table. curious they ordered exactly what we ordered just with 2 deserts. mgmt may want to look into that. waiter was very nice and service was good though. bill was corrected we come here a bit but i guess i'll be looking at the bill closely from now on

Lisa L.

Yelp
It is so disappointing to see what has become of this restaurant. I used to go for dinner and decided to get a lunch take out since I have not been there for a while. The order was a mess. One entree was left out completely, and the entrees that I did get were cold and the fries were mushy. I called immediately to get a refund for the items that were not included, and have yet to receive that back. I can only hope that the food and service gets better or this place will sadly go under.

Mike R.

Yelp
Ambience is great. It reminded me of a very old school Italian restaurant which I love. The wine list was also great. The service seemed understaffed or poorly trained. I found it odd to not receive bread for the table which couldn't be more of an Italian complimentary. The entrees were not great. I ordered the steak and it came with onions and cheese on top which is odd, also it was extremely thin. A $40+ steak and ur making me a thin Philly cheesesteak? I think they can make it into a gem but just need new management to fix things. Hopefully, they realize that because I'll go every weekend.
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
We really enjoyed the food but the cheesecake was terrible (docking 1 star)

Scott F.

Yelp
Nice Ambience yet the food at best is Mediocre. My wife order a special dover sole and it was not edible which the waiters and waitress found quite funny.Never going back
google avatar

Leroy F.

Yelp
Don't listen to all the negativity! Look at the place when you drive up...people! It is what it is. Love the bar. Even when I was there by myself. The tender was professional and friendly. It feels like a hometown bar. I visit this place once a year and it has not changed. Dinner, drinks, old chairs and tables? All the same. That's a plus. The Grilled octopus with beans is one of the best you'll ever have. I know I run the risk of having the prices rise if you all follow my lead but what ever it takes to keep this on the menu? So be it.
google avatar

Erik R.

Yelp
I have to admit, I really did not expect to like this place as much as I did. The decor is nothing to write home about and reminds me of so many neighborhood family restaurants. They have a decent wine list with a number of options to drink by the glass. The food was the shining star though. Everyone at our table ordered salads which were all good (not spectacular). The pasta however was fantastic. The favorite dishes around the table were the bolognese and the Pene alla Vodka. Portions were huge.
google avatar

Bobby J.

Yelp
1.5 stars. Go for drinks and eat elsewhere unless you have a niche for throwing away unwanted money on subpar everything. For the prices he charges for what is NOT House made pasta and IS frozen fish added he should be thrilled he's allowed to walk around with a smile on his face. Actually god bless him for having suckers as regulars. THERES NOTHING YOU CAN GET HERE THAT YOU CANT GET ELSEWHERE FOR LESS MONEY (and better quality) Just like the decor this place has an identity and menu crises. My second trip here in as many months and I should have stopped after one. App sizes are ridiculously small for the price and the pasta is ALL over priced..... you can stop reading and just go eat elsewhere right now !!! Or Where to start --- first trip I watched every table around us get delivered an amuse bouche of sorts that I couldn't make out... we did not get it. After being seated next to a roaring fire which de-robed us for survival purposes (We snuck to the other side of the table) ... ambience is one thing but heating your entire small restaurant (exaggerating) at the sufferance of those closest is absurd. Bread came about 10 seconds before apps Filet mignonette carpaccio app- I know what carpaccio means but this was sliced so thin I literally had to scrape it off the plate with my butter knife. $16??? Tiny caprese salad - $14...... chicken parm - bland Rigatoni - decent meat sauce - ok - but NOT for $26 Tiramisu - below average Coffee 3$ - delicious!!! Trip 2 - Shrimp Adria - 3 medium sized shrimp sharing probably less than 1 piece of bacon wrapped lightly around $16 At over 5$ per shrimp I expected more. 4 would have been acceptable. Sauce was delicious. I get more shrimp from Valbella and capital grille for the same money ??? You buddy ... you are NO CAPITAL OR VALBELLA!!! The special tonight was a black linguine fra diavolo with lobster, shrimp and scallops. It was very good for $30 bucks but the house sauce was weak , not spicy at all and loaded with garlic ... loaded. After eating 2 pieces accidentally hoping they were fish .... I pulled out about 9 more pieces of very very strong garlic. Now I've eaten garlic raw and put it in smoothies but the over powering presence in this dish was unacceptable.... COOK THE SAUCE LONGER!!! It's lazy .... We had coffee dessert beverages that were good. My espresso martini was delish and my friends chocolate coffee something was also good ... but way too much whipped cream and not worth $15 a pop. Well the martini was ... I always pay between 12-16 for that martini but the coffee drink not worth 8$. After Perusing the menu further I saw that they charge$15 for a coffee with amaretto ??? If a coffee is 3$ then the amaretto is $12????? NO EFFIN WAY ... let the spoiled Greenwich locals foot the electric bill for This almost complete waste of time. THERES NOTHING YOU CAN GET HERE THAT YOU CANT GET ELSEWHERE THATS BETTER FOR LESS MONEY. Just like the decor this place has an identity and menu crises.

Yelp
I have a coupon that I bought a while ago. I thought it is a good idea to use it here otherwise I would not have tried this place. Parking situation is an issue. I do not like valet and that is the only option here. That said, the place is fuller than I thought early on a Sunday with several families visiting. Space is tight but manageable. It is a little darker Food quality is better than I thought given the low ratings from previous yelpers. That said, price is expensive for the volume of food you get for a family restaurant. I would come back, but only if I have a coupon in my pocket with a small party (aka 2 persons).
google avatar

Caitlin S.

Yelp
"Z" the new bartender is so pleasant, helpful and damn, does he know how to shake up a martini! My martini stayed cold all the way to the bottom - but let's be honest, it didn't survive long enough to get warm. Their Pasta e Fagioli soup is out of this world. Very heavy and can be a dinner. I haven't had a better version of this soup anywhere else (except my mom's). Louie's has my favorite pasta dish - their Spaghetti Bolognese. The red sauce seems to have a touch of cream so it's more of a meaty pink sauce. It's rare to find the perfect pasta to sauce ratio and Louie's masters it. Order it with a glass of the Montepulciano, and it's heaven for dinner. Another favorite entree, Chicken Louie's, which is chicken in a sharp, very slightly creamy lemon sauce with the most perfectly cooked, fresh asparagus. It sounds simple, but is out of this world. I've always been too full for dessert :)

Mallory H.

Yelp
Mediocre Italian. Can be a fun bar scene and some Dishes are very good (polpo and beans) but the Louie's chicken is very meh. Pastas soso. Salads weak. When they have sole it's very good.
google avatar

M S.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS AWFUL, SKIP IT. We were given a gift certificate/card during the holidays to eat at Louie's and were told the certificate would be honored in Darien or Greenwich. So we stopped by Greenwich to try it out. That night there was only valet parking which is strange for a backwater / sleepy town like Greenwich. It seemed most of the waitstaff was foreign and didn't speak english well. 3 different people came for our order and another one served us in uncoordinated fashion. The meal was mediocre and the sort of stuff you can get in Port Chester or Stamford for much less. We spent the value of the certificate. When the bill came we gave them the electronic coupon / card and they said they couldn't validate that it was one of theirs, despite it having the Louie's logo and serial #. They said the gift card was from the Darien restaurant which has the same owners and logo. Instead of calling up the Darien restaurant and figuring out what happened and doing an accounting transaction to honor the card, the manager loudly harangued me, the only non-anglo person in the restaurant, about why they wouldn't honor it. Finally I asked him if we could just pay the bill and leave. In front of everyone at the restaurant he pointed his finger, 6 inches from my face while standing over me and yelled that I was rude for trying to understand the situation developing at a restaurant not honoring their gift certificates that otherwise I wouldn't step in my whole life. The owners should fire this guy right away. No one should buy their gift certificates. I'm already communicating to the guy who bought a bunch of these coupons to not do it this holiday season. THIS PLACE IS AWFUL, SKIP IT.
google avatar

Julie K.

Yelp
Rude, rude, rude. Went to Alba's in Port Chester instead. Night and day! Will never return to Louie's.

Brikitta H.

Yelp
If I could leave them less than one star I would. I have never in my life had such a bad dining experience. I went with my family for a graduation celebration and my kid brother found hair in his food that came spiraling out of the sausage and was imbedded in the sauce of his Rigatoni Nonna .We told the very nice server and they remade the food that took 15 minutes, which was nothing compared to the original 40 or so minutes for our food to come out. We understand the restaurant was busy and the issue is with the managers gross mishandling of the situation. The manager came to the table and was highly rude, contradicting every statement that my mother made and was practically yelling at my mother. We paid the bill of nearly $300 and the manager followed my mom out of the restaurant. We will report them to the Health department and shut down for such a serious health hazard. We will also be contacting the OSHA and FDA because there are likely other hazards in the kitchen.

Yelp
Not sure about all the baas reviews. Louie's has consistently had solid food. Great piccata, Veal, chicken Louie and pasta dishes like ravioli or specials. Salads that have fresh interesting ingredients. The desserts are to die for. The prices at Louie's Are in line with the area it is in. Was there last night and sure it was busy and a little tight but that is the charm. I don't recommend going for a romantic dinner, but i do recommend going for traditional Italian food done well.
google avatar

Eric M.

Yelp
Seated immediately- at the fireplace!!! Manager was very nice. They gave my fiancé a rose for Valentine's Day, nice touch The bruschetta they gave for free was amazing. Very flavorful tomatoes. Also the olive oil for the bread was phenomenal. Definitely extremely high quality. Impressive attention to detail if something fairly insignificant like the oil and bruschetta at the table is off the charts I had the Halibut, fiancé had the bolognese. Phenomenal. And they weren't stingy with the sauce either. Whole top of the pasta was covered Great service. I believe her name was Elke And we weren't rushed out the door either. They let us hang a bit 6 stars if i could
google avatar

Emma R.

Yelp
Louie's has a big reputation around town, but after a few trips we have found the food and wine to be quite expensive for what it is. It's just okay as far as authentic Italian food goes. The ambiance can be fun, but don't sit in the bar room if you're looking for a date - it feels like a sports bar and the menu is the same as the much nicer dining room.

Nina S.

Yelp
We go to Louie's about 2 times a month. We were very disappointed tonight. The special that I ordered was spaghetti w Lobster, shrimp and broccoli rabe. It came out in7 minutes. The shrimp was cooked from frozen for sure. Not sure about the lobster but it was dry. Pecan pie on the SPECIALS tasted like it was out of a box and nuked. Neighborhood restaurant but sorry Louies.. we r done w you! Valets were great though.
google avatar

Yelp
So, great neighborhood bar, the food is just not good! They just boosted their prices so if you want to pay $14 for a dinner size Caesar salad which was drenched in oil and tasteless then I would recommend this place. We have been coming here for years and years, so again great bar, not a place to dine. Everything is just so so now and it's a shame. Definitely not authentic Italian if that's what you're looking for. Waiters and waitresses are drab, but again when people read reviews they want to know how the food is and I'm telling you it's bland and extremely overpriced, and it is not something I would normally say. I just do not recommend this anymore, it used to be packed all the time you could tell now that there are places to sit and places at the bar. Look for something else.
google avatar

Kelly S.

Yelp
I have been coming to this restaurant for about 6 years now, to celebrate special occasions like birthdays or Mother's Day, or just for small lunches. The food is great with large portions, and a wide variety of choices from different kinds of meats, deserts, and drinks - nice cocktails too. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the staff is friendly. It is the most comfortable restaurant atmosphere that I have been in. There are 3 sections - a main dining area, the bar area, and a side one. They do a nice job of sticking to the Italy theme. It is very family-friendly. Although I wish that they changed the menu more often. They need to change it up to keep it fresh and new. It is overpriced, I believe. Although I still enjoy going there overall. On a busy day there is valet parking, otherwise on quiet days or non-busy times, you should be able to find ample parking on your own.

jayne m.

Yelp
Sadly looking forward to this restaurant as we heard great things about it. Unfortunately, the experience is more than the food. The service was horrible, didn't refill water glasses or ask us if we wanted more drinks , as an example. It seemed we were putting the waitress out as she was just standing there talking with the other servers. Not to Mention the place is so loud, you can not hear a conversation. To top it off when we complained as we left, management wasn't sorry. Just said too bad. There are many other really good Italian restaurants in the area where they appreciate your business.

Yelp
Food was good (not great) but good. Both the apps and main entrees were tasty. Wait staff was nice. Seated right away. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The dining area is super noisy. Everything is just a little bit pricey. Parking is an issue, they make you valet your car.

Yelp
I had a horrible experience here on a recent Saturday night. They only take reservations for parties of 6 or more, and we were four so we had no choice but to go and wait - ok, fine. We arrived at 7:30 to a packed restaurant - the tables were full and the bar and lobby were literally shoulder-to-shoulder. The hostess said it would be maybe 30 minutes and we agreed, figuring if it's that busy then the food has to be worth it. Well, we waited 90 minutes. No, that's not a typo - we arrived at 7:30 and were seated at 9 PM. NINE! Ridiculous. While we spent eternity in the lobby, several large parties with reservations arrived and were seated. The curious thing was that we noticed the hostess was taking down people's names but every so often she would skip a line. Now I can't say this for certain, but it seemed as if when "regulars" would stroll in and request a table, they would get one of those cozy open spots on the list, have a glass of wine, and be seated within a few minutes. I understand that it's in the restaurant's best interest to show some favoritism to regular customers, but this was ridiculous. Finally - the food. It was very good, I'll give them that, but not amazing. I had the veal picatta and they gave me, literally, two veal chops and almost nothing else on the plate. I asked the waiter if it came with pasta and he reassured me that it came with roasted potatoes. It did. Two slices of roasted potato rested on a piece of cauliflower and that was it. It was a bit peculiar. My boyfriend had the lobster ravioli, which turned out to be cheese ravioli with a lobster sauce. For the low, low price of $23 he got three actual bites of lobster meat in the sauce! How spectacular! I'm never going back. If you're craving Italian, go to Mike's in Norwalk - it's amazing. So those are my thoughts about Louie's. Oh, and the house chardonnay is ten bucks a glass. Awesome.

Yelp
Awful. We ordered the hot antipast. The shrimp was beyond over cooked and sauce had no flavor. The calamari was hit and miss and sauce with it bland and cool, the rolatini was cool and the clams were oily. I had no confidence to order anything else so we went elsewhere as we were hungry. Used to be a good place but 10+ years since we have been there. Won't go back.
