I've tried. I've tried to love Louie's - I really have. It's all of 5 minutes from my house and so far out of four orders myself/family have placed online, only one has been fulfilled.
I get it, they make 'x' amount per day and when they're sold out, they're sold out. It's the ole Texas BBQ supply/demand method. All good - i'm used to it being born/raised in Texas. But c'mon now, potatoes last a long time. Trust me, I have 2-3 sitting in a bowl on my counter that've been there about a week and a half. However, it's wild to me that you can "sell out" of a fairly shelf stable staple like a potato. Seems like the "buzz" around LCB on the local Buda groups is the BBQ potato, and with so few "healthy" options in the area - I get it that this is a nice in-between meal somewhere north of healthy but south of the fried fast food on 35 service for many in Buda.
At that, seems like if you are sold out of an item the online ordering system would reflect that. I know it takes an extra bit of time to do so, but i've seen it done on the regular at Valentina's down the road and other similar trucks, and it makes life immensely easier for both staff and those ordering. I appreciate you all trying to call, but being so close by, I left my phone at home, nor was a VM left... so I didn't find out until I got to the truck.
I can say, however, the one meal that we did actually get - it was solid. The meat had good flavor, the potato salad side was fantastic, and the wait to pickup was relatively short. Sadly, it's more of a headache than anything trying to guess what they may have one day and not the other - so until things get fixed or we're looking for a lunch order, we'll probably hold on future ordering and/or hit one of the other BBQ trucks in the S. ATX area.
We have faith in you, Louie!
