"Some have argued that these two restaurants, both owned by the National Parks Service (NPS) and merely rented by their operators, will roar back to glory once the pandemic ends. That's likely, as the buildings remain, as do their epic views. But the same folks operated Louis' diner since 1937, so whatever happens in those structures next will be different." - Eve Batey

Great food and great service. The one problem is the run-down decor. Could use a paint job and new flooring. And the benches have seen better days. If you can look past that, you're good. The price is right. Actually cheap.

The price was on the cheaper side is what we feel. our server was friendly and we were able to put in order quickly as well. Definitely would recommend this diner

Google
This was a very good diner with friendly people, great vibes, and inexpensive food. I got the french toast special and it was something. Husband got the country skillet, he says it was fresh, massive, and delicious. Daughter got the side of Biscuit, bacon, and mashed pot, she said it was exceptional for a diner so cheap. Came in hungry, came out full. Epic.

Always a pleasure eating here and so nostalgic. We’ve been eating here for 10 years. We started eating here when I was pregnant with my 9 year old daughter and we just came back with our 3 year old and I’m pregnant again with our 3rd child! So bittersweet. I hope this place stays open for a long time. I almost always get the same thing. The #2 pancake special. I have tried their burritos with green chili and they are always very good. And I usually have to get some chips and salsa every time because the chips are homemade!

My mom and I come here for a special treat every once in a while. Been doing it for years! The service has gotten better, and they definitely need to expand or find a bigger place as it gets busy when church lets out! It's reasonably priced, don't let the other reviews that say it's expensive fool you. Expect to pay 12-20 per person.

Lou Bedan

Google
Definitely recommend this place. Quick friendly service, the breakfast we ordered was great (had the traditional chicken fried steak and eggs), and it is a super reasonable price.

I work in the vicinity decided to try the food. We ordered our food to go and it was delicious. The amount of food and the price was impressive! We will definitely be back. Next time I will dine in! Friendly enviornment

The chile relleno is the best I’ve ever had. The service is amazing and the old school diner feel makes this place my #1 breakfast spot!

Yelp
Not sure how this place has over 4 stars on multiple platforms. I love breakfast food and was really looking forward to this place. My boyfriend and I were greeted and seated promptly when we arrived, but unfortunately, the positives end after that. It took 30 min to place an order because no one knew who was in charge of our table. After about 20 min, I had to flag down a waitress who dismissively waved her hand and said she would find whoever was in charge of our table. After another 10 minutes, our waitress comes over and asks if we're ready to order. No apology, wouldn't look me in the eyes (none of the staff would actually), no smile, nothing. We also noticed that she took the orders of two large tables that came in after us before ours. Obviously, this meant food took another 30 min to come out. The food was fine. Cooked good enough but not particularly memorable. Cheap prices so you could say it's worth it if you consider that. We sat for another 15 min after eating before I had to flag down our waitress for the check. The worst part was probably when I went to pay the bill at the front, the teen boy charged a 20% tip without my permission. I only noticed this after the fact. After I first tapped my card to pay, he quickly turned the card reader back towards himself before having me tap my card again. I thought maybe the card didn't take the first time, but then he mumbled something before disengaging. I walked off without a receipt and confused. I then realized that I was never prompted by the screen for a tip but my card was charged considerably more than our original bill. I left with an incredibly terrible memory and will not be coming back. I also won't be recommending this spot to anyone. Treating your customers like people and not cheating them to get a few extra bucks goes a long way. But times are tough, I guess.

Yelp
I'm here at 7am and they are open, YA! The food here is made fresh and served hot. Everything is pretty consistent with the exception of opening at the scheduled time.

Dave R.

Yelp
Saturday 10:00 AM. Full House attendence!, but was waited on in a timely manner.. I found this location on Yelp a few months ago and was intrigued by the name and wondered if it was the same as the Golden location.....and YES, the same family owns it. Same great menu here that caters to a "down to earth- real people" crowd. Of course, I had to have my cardiac attack favorite, Chicken Fried Chicken (two Statins, please!)....As with the other location, Great job with the meal. I will definitely return!!

Katelyn M.

Yelp
Great breakfast spot! Excellent food and service. Everything was delicious and the vibes were cozy- I'll definitely be back!

Kynton C.

Yelp
Louis' Diner is my kind of breakfast spot. I would go here over the upscale brunch places around town any day of the week. My group of 4 arrived a little before 9 am on a Saturday morning, and we were able to sit down immediately. By the time we left around 10, the restaurant was nearly full, but still had no wait time for smaller groups. The coffee was hot, strong, and fresh. The chicken fried steak skillet was excellent. Over medium eggs were spot on. The staff was very attentive and friendly. They even seemed to know some of the customers by name. That's the best part of a place like this. Save yourself the 90-minute wait at other brunch places and come to Louis' Diner for an excellent breakfast/brunch experience.

Susan J.

Yelp
A great local diner! Fast and friendly service. Food is spot on and just what a diner should be! French toast, pancakes, skillets, omelets....all delicious!!!

Royce R.

Yelp
The owner, Louis has made this right and we appreciate his concern. My mother and I both love the food and are very thankful for his concern. All should try Louis' Diner, the food is great.

Justin U.

Yelp
We went over to Littleton café for lunch and found out that they were finished serving for the day. Heading back into town we noticed Louis' diner. Yelp showed it had four stars so we thought we would try it. The place wasn't crowded. It's a typical diner that's been around for a while. The carpeting is worn, the decor outdated. But I go to restaurants more for the food than the interior decorating. I ordered the French dip with french fries, because it's been a while since I've had that. And it's usually a good choice. The meal was slow in coming, which seems to be a sign of these times with every place being short handed. But the server did a good job of keeping my coffee filled which is a plus. My French dip was good but it only had a few slices of beef, much less than I've ever seen on a French dip sandwich. I don't know if it's because the price of meat has gotten so high and they don't want to raise prices, or what. I would rather they raise prices and serve me a hefty beef sandwich. My wife got a Greek salad which was like none she'd ever had before. It had slices of gyros on it and in general was not particularly tasty. I gave them three stars because I wouldn't have a problem going back, though I know my wife doesn't want to return.

Estefania S.

Yelp
Quick & affordable! A coworker & I stopped by during our lunch break & we received incredibly quick service. Our server was nice & very enjoyable to be around. She took our order almost as soon as we got there & the food came not too long after. I ordered a breakfast burrito & I did not expect it to be smothered in salsa. I'm usually not a fan of smothered burritos because a lot of places just don't get the salsa right but to my surprise the burrito salsa mix was very tasty. Both of our meals were less than $20 & we were back at work with time to spare!

Amy L.

Yelp
Love this spot because I love a local diner that does breakfast food well, consistent, and is reasonably priced. Would much rather come to Louis' for a classic diner breakfast done right, than spend $50 at a mediocre brunch. Both meals plus one coffee = $28. Hard to beat.

Jake D.

Yelp
Swung by this morning while back in town visiting and was happy to see that Louis' hasn't changed. They have a newly printed menu, and it might be a smidge more expensive than I remember, but what isn't!? It's still very fairly priced. Service and food were excellent, just like I remembered.

Pure I.

Yelp
This place has awesome kids specials and I'd recommend the bacon cheeseburger! They are located in a shopping center.

Ester R.

Yelp
Good for fast food and family mom and pop. I had omelet and burger. Simple burger yet great meet and also the price very reasonable.

Sam A.

Yelp
A great local family owned diner. A big local breckfast spot with lunch business too. Good american food served here! Pepsi products. Small strip center parking lot but eazy to find.

Paulette W.

Yelp
Louis Diner is a small restraint with big meals. The breakfast menu can be ordered anytime. The Mexican food on the menu is delicious. I ordered pancakes and eggs with sausage. Service was good and staff was kind.

Sabrina W.

Yelp
The food was amazing, well priced, and delicious! The B&G special was HUGE and cheap!! The service could have been better. If you order a cup of coffee expect to only have the one cup lol. Our server was gone for most of the meal, which is fine, it just would have been lovely to have coffee throughout the meal.

Cierra M.

Yelp
This place was so bad. I still feel sick thinking about this food. The layout is so horrible and the workers are laid back and not in the good way at all. I think it's a family business with how unprofessional they are. The coffee was horrible, toast was somehow terrible and the dishes looked good but tasted like wet garbage. The photos on the menu look so disgusting I'm surprised more people don't walk out after seeing the pictures. I figured this place was going to be way better based on the 4 star average. It should have negative stars

amanda a.

Yelp
Picked this place at random when my parents were in town. I'm so glad I did! Great prices, decent portions, and delicious food!! The staff was super sweet and attentive. The table next to us must have been "regulars", as the cooks came out from the kitchen to greet them, hug them and ask how their food was. I thought that was really nice. The chorizo omelet did not disappoint.

Angie Y.

Yelp
A tiny diner on a corner that is run by a local Mexican family. Their menu consists of a few classic diner dishes and the rest of the options are Mexican dishes such as burritos, skillets, and tamales..etc. We came around lunch time and the diner was packed - it seems like this place is a locals' favorite hangout spot. I ordered a patty melt that was served on rye and alongside fries. It was pretty good - the beef patty was flavorful and the outside was toasted well. The fries were skinny fries that remind you of the shoe string potatoes you get at McDonalds. Given this was my first time in Colorado I also ordered a cup of green chili. The chili was spicy, zesty, and full of vegetables like jalapeños, corn, tomatoes, and chicken. If I knew how good this cup of soup was going to be I would have ordered a bowl. It also comes with a complimentary tortilla on the side for dipping. Overall this diner is nothing special - prices are reasonable and service is pretty friendly and quick.

Alice A.

Yelp
WOW! My experience was like the soup nazi episode out of Seinfeld. If I hadn't lived it, I wouldn't believe it! Let me just preface by saying I always sympathize with restaurants having grown up working in my dad's restaurants. I know how hard this business can be. We had our 14 year old grandson and his 4 year old sister with us, so we couldn't wait around for 89-120 minutes at Toast. We drove by this place and thought they would be less busy. When we first walked in, I knew the food was good, because you definitely wouldn't be here for the ambiance. LOL! This place looks like it's been here for a hundred years with lots of regulars. They were pretty busy on Sunday at 11:30, but we didn't have to wait for a booth. You sit wherever you want. We were greeted quickly enough and beverages brought promptly. This first server didn't speak much English. The menu was so extensive I couldn't decide what to order, which is unusual for me. Another server took our order and was very pleasant. She even recommended the tamale special when I asked what I should get. After that, we never saw her again nor the first server, not even to refill our coffees! About 30 minutes in, no one came by to explain what the hold up was. In culinary school, my chef instructors always said that breakfast should take 15 minutes tops. I looked around and no one had any food either. And no one was complaining. There were older folks and families with little kids. By now, all the tables were occupied. The weird thing is, all the servers were just standing behind a counter avoiding eye contact! It would have gone a long way for them to come by, apologize, refill our coffees, offer the kids crayons, etc., but no, nada! About 40 minutes in, I'm fixing to go up with my coffee mug and ask them politely how much longer, when our food suddenly appeared! Although 2 entrees at a time instead of all 4. But we weren't gonna complain; we were starving! A note on the food, it was good but not worth the wait. Lol! So, we're all quietly scarfing down our food when I hear this lady dropping F bombs and cussing out a customer because he said it looked like someone took a bite of his toast. She threw plates down and yelled how dare he complain about the slow service; "LOOK WHAT YOU ORDERED! DO YOU THINK THAT CAN COME OUT FAST? SHOW SOME RESPECT!!!" It was so loud; everyone was scared to move. The customer left with his kid. Now, I was also taught that the customer is always right. Guess they don't have the same philosophy at Louis' Diner. I hope you read your reviews Luis! Your staff need some serious retraining or you might loose all your customers. Next time we'll just wait at Toast! Lol!

Kristin Z.

Yelp
This place is honestly great, the food and service are top notch! The prices are amazing and it is just good old fashion yumminess. Green chili was great as well!

Stacie W.

Yelp
This was our first time to Louis' Diner for breakfast. It was super busy and it's a small place so we had to wait a little while. Hubby had the chicken fried steak. It was really good! The gravy was thick and peppery and the chicken fried steak was really flavorful. Sonny had the huevos rancheros. He really liked it. The tortilla that came with it was a little crispy and the hash browns were more like fried potatoes. Not the usual grated potatoes. I had the chile relleno breakfast. The eggs were a little cold, but I only eat the whites anyway, so not a huge deal. The rellenos were really good and the green chile wasn't too spicy. I would like to go back for lunch sometime to try the enchiladas, unless they serve them for breakfast too?? Cheers!

Marilyn C.

Yelp
It's a great little cafe. Good breakfasts. Good food. Wait staff awesome. Coffee cup is never empty.

Loreal W.

Yelp
When we lived in this area, this was our favorite little breakfast spot. I would always get the Chili Relleno breakfast. I don't think it's on the menu but you can ask for it! They always have a busy breakfast crowd but staff is friendly and food comes out fast.

Kevin K.

Yelp
Food was ok nothing to scream about. My burrito came out cold in the middle. I would never send it back. You just never know what they would do. If you want service good luck with that. Being a former FOH manager myself if you got time to lean ( in this case seat) you have time to clean

Richard G.

Yelp
First time to this diner. Tried the chli relleno breakfast and loved it. Just the right amount of heat on the chili. My son had the biscuits and gravy and gave it an 8 out of 10. The biscuits were moist and very tasty. Wanting to try the chicken fried steak next time. Lots of Mexican food on the menu too.

Chrissy H.

Yelp
Had to kill a few hours on a delayed-open morning at the Littleton DMV. I decided to find a diner rather than go back home. Found Louis' on Yelp, and knew I had found the right spot. Easy to navigate to, I found parking right out front. I appreciated how they kept their walkway cleared and salted so there were no treacherous moments waking in. I was told to seat myself, so I chose a spot against the back wall. They were moderately busy, and someone stopped by to give me a menu and take my drink order quickly. I perused the menu items (there are quite a few things to choose from) and quickly got my order in. I enjoyed a cup of fresh decaf (they brewed a fresh pot) while I waited for my meal. Once my food arrived, I ate my meal contentedly. My eggs were cooked perfectly, and my bacon was just the right amount of floppy for me. While I ate, several larger parties were seated. A lot of folks looked to be regulars. Once I was done, I stopped to use the ladies room. This is my only complaint - the women's restroom door wouldn't lock! It didn't fully engage in the door jamb. I really had to empty my poor bladder before driving over all the ice and snow, so I made a quick judgement call on using the facilities with speed. Once I washed my hands, I grabbed my check and walked up to the counter to pay for my meal. My waitress completed the transaction - she was very pleasant. I went back to Louis' maybe three weeks later. Had an equally satisfying meal. I will go back again, and will update my rating to 5 stars once the bathroom door is fixed.

Maria M.

Yelp
I honestly think that this is the best restaurant ever because my brother works at this restaurant and I like the food

Vicki S.

Yelp
I like Loius we have gone her for years . However they have one waitress that is hateful rude and has only waited on us twice and gotten order wrong and then blames on us she needs to be fired

Cash O.

Yelp
This place is good, but I wouldn't choose to eat here, it's crowded, hot, and loud and annoying. Although the food is good the experience wasn't too enjoyable.

Theresa R.

Yelp
No reason to go back we had breakfast this morning. Husband got the house skillet, the green chili is awful, the pork was dry and overcooked had the texture of flaked tuna, the coffee is weak and water downed, my breakfast the sausage Benedict was ok but the sausage was low quality had some brittle pieces within and the gravy was too salty so lacked flavor. Service was friendly. The place was pretty empty. The owner claims best "green chilly" I guess that should of been a clue ... can't spell and he is giving himself too much credit.

Gregory B.

Yelp
I come here a good amount with my family when I'm looking for an inexpensive traditional breakfast. No mimosas are fancy garnishes, just good breakfast food and giant portions.

Jeremy M.

Yelp
Not terrible, but definitely nothing special. Typical diner food but not the best. Service was fast and waitress was nice. The prices are good which makes it more worth it. In my opinion the hash browns were gross.

Lynda S.

Yelp
Out antique shopping with my friends and found this restaurant listed on yelp so decided to try it out. Food was just ok but the reason we won't return is that the service was terrible! Just say'en !

Diane D.

Yelp
The food is fresh and hot. The employees are friendly and always have a smile. The coffee fresh and bold tasting, excellent!! They have real half and half cream! I love the seat yourself policy! The vegetables in our skillets were fresh and crispy! Many choices for such a quaint restaurant.

Karla W.

Yelp
My favorite go to for breakfast.. best chicken steak ever... owner and staff are the friendliest ever!! It's soo close and we love supporting local family business!!!

St L.

Yelp
We enjoyed our in-person breakfast here with our two teens-they went for the pancake specials and they were delighted by fluffy pancakes, crispy bacon, link sausage and hash browns- yet they could not finish - those are generous portions! And The Hash Browns were among the best we have ever had...real potatoes both tender and crisp, real perfection here! Dearest had biscuits (perfect and tender)and gravy, with over-easy eggs that were On Point, oozing rich yolk on those perfect hash browns. I had an excellent omelette and added a little sass with their Chuluro hot sauce. This breakfast will hold us well through midday. Coffee was great with refills offered often, and water was refilled often as well- great, friendly, attentive service. We'll be back!

Sharla C.

Yelp
This place is AMAZING!!! All dine-in restaurants are supposed to be closed by 8am due to the Coronavirus. We luckily arrived at this place at 7:15am and I'm ecstatic we made it in time! I've never seen or heard of this place, but it is now my absolute FAVORITE!!!! I ordered the cinnamon roll french toast and it is so delicious it doesn't even need syrup!!! I love this place... I love the food... the hostess greeted us with enthusiasm and was extremely kind. If I could give this place more stars I would. I definitely will be returning when this stuff blows over. Phenomenal!!!!

Xavier M.

Yelp
DO NOT GO HERE , treated so poorly and the food was just disgusting, to afraid to send it back because this is the type of place to spit in your food ! Nothing but dirty looks IF U DONT LIKE YOUR JOB QUITT !

Dana K.

Yelp
I had a super crispy chili rellenos platter for lunch, left stuffed for about $7. The staff was friendly from the minute I walked in even though I have never been here. You could tell that they had regular customers who ate there all the time, but I was just as welcome as the regulars. The staff help each other out when the food is up, and when drinks need refilling. Service was fast and friendly. I thought the decor was cute, the booths were comfortable. It is on Littleton Blvd in a strip mall and has lots of parking.

Lynn N.

Yelp
It is a great family place. The food is awesome they have a good variety of options and reasonable prices check it out you will not be disappointed

Kimberly S.

Yelp
Why haven't we been to Louis' Diner before now? I honestly don't know. Louis' Diner is a neighborhood staple in the Littleton area. Having now been here twice in the last week, I can see why. Louis' Diner is small inside, with approximately 9-10 tables, 6 booths, and 2 booths that can seat approximately 5-6 people. If you have a large party, I would think the restaurant could push the tables together to seat about 10, or more, people. The ceiling is low white tile, and the palate colors inside are browns, tans, and oranges. The table are close together, with very little space between them. There is carpet on the floor, which helps muffle the noise, but I'm sure it's hard to keep clean, as you would have to constantly vacuum the carpet. There is a tv in the corner as well. When you walk in, the hostess/cashier stand is at the kitchen counter area, which you cannot sit at. This is not directly inside the door, as there are tables directly by the door. There will probably be a wait for you, as the restaurant is popular, and there is no waiting area. The parking lot is a private lot, shared by all of the stores/merchants in the shopping center strip mall. Louis' Diner opens daily, 6:00 am to 3:00 pm. They serve breakfast and lunch items. These include: breakfast burritos, omelettes, biscuits and gravy, meat and eggs, chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, pancakes, waffles, french toast, all types of skillets, soups, chilis, salads, sandwiches, hamburgers, melts, Mexican entrees, pork chops, and a Kids' menu. There is so much more as well. I have enjoyed their meat and eggs breakfast several times now, and have not been disappointed. The eggs are cooked to order, the potatoes are good, and the coffee is hot. It's easy to get a refill on your coffee too, which is important to me. I like my coffee. Family members have had the omelettes, and the pancakes. Nothing has disappointed any of us. Service is good, quick, and friendly. There is music playing in the background as well. It can get noisy, but that's ok. As I stated above, there is very little room between tables, so baby strollers will have to remain outside, or in your car. Louis' Diner is a good place to enjoy food, and conversation. See you there!

dana P.

Yelp
So the yelp reviews as of late haven't been the best at giving solid recommendations for dining experiences, but here I will agree.. This is definitely a small family run business, with few booths and few tables. We have gone here 4 times already so I will say we are happy with the place. We have only gone for breakfast- I had the pork chops a couple of times and we have also enjoyed country fried steak and country fried chicken. Ok, so we are a bit of comfort food fans, but I will say they do it well. The last time we had the pork chops, it was missing seasoning and was a poor cut, but they rectified that by replacing it. The service was a bit spotty this last time also (slow and not really friendly), but I am willing to give it a pass once (nothing to do with lack of staffing and too busy- 5 gals, 5 tables). Normally, service is good. Anyway, pricing is very fair and competitive, and again, its a local business which I continue to support. We have it on the favorite list. By the way, they have a big menu with lots of options and even have Mexican dishes which is fabulous since we love Mexican food too!! Check it out.. You will leave full and satisfied.

Amy Z.

Yelp
I almost didn't want to eat at this place cuz it looked bland from the outside. Never judge a book by its cover! One of the most huge variety menus I've encountered in a very long time. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the country fried steak. My friend's father apparently always orders in the Mexican and swears it's the best. Then my buddy is a vegetarian, so whatever, lol. I definitely recommend eating here!! The service was also outstanding. It's been a long time I've been this impressed with the restaurant and I really almost protested going when my buddy recommended it. I'm glad I went. There is definitely something for everybody on this menu and it's all very tasty.

Gerald S.

Yelp
All things considered, this is my favorite restaurant in town. Have a tried everything, But what I have tried as all been good. The staff is dedicated and works hard to please everyone. The California skillet is perhaps my favorite, though I know not everyone will agree with me.

Chris H.

Yelp
absolutely delicious! The prices: amazingly affordable and great portions! I ordered the chicken fried steak. Came out perfectly crisp, served with a side of skillet potatoes and some toast. Because I'm a huge green chili aficionado i ordered a cup of it and poured it over the potatoes. Comes with a soft, warm, and tasty tortilla. The chili wasn't too hot and tasted great! Friendly, courteous and fast service! A small hole-in-the-wall in Littleton's woodlawn shopping center on windemere and w littleton blvd. A hidden gem in which i'll be sure to return! **called in on Mike Boyles 710 KNUS radio show to offer praise**

Jacques D.

Yelp
I love this place. The food is awesome and the portions legit. The ladies are sweet as pie and I always feel welcome. Thank you

Claire F.

Yelp
I'm not sure how this place has four stars. The food (particularly the French dip) is just bad and the service is poor

Leslie S.

Yelp
Great skillets and really good Mexican food. Service is prompt and friendly. We love this place and try to go every Friday night.

Annette B.

Yelp
Actually, a nice little diner. It has reasonable prices. I had the enchiladas. They were good. The green chili in the sauce was great.
