13 Essential Rooftop Bars in the Twin Cities

"Cosetta's Louis Ristorante rooftop has stellar views of the city's downtown skyline, the St. Paul Cathedral’s ornate dome, and the picturesque bluffs along the Mississippi River. The atmosphere here is understated and elegant, and the menu, which has old-school Italian feel, features dishes like linguine alle vongole with Manila clams." - Eater Staff

Food was good. We had a party of 8 with three kids. I took a bit longer than we wanted to receive our food. The kid’s food was hot while my meal (Ravoili) was somewhat warm. Normally we eat at the Eatery and Pizzaria which I would prefer next time if I went with the same dynamics of our party. If you don’t have kids with, this place is great for a date or adult outing. They also have a killer outside area!

Tasty and nice ambience - rooftop bar has a nice view of the weather is nice! Cannot remember the type of wine 🍷 but it was excellent! App was a bruschetta caprese very flavorful nice touch of basil and vinaigrette. The veal 🥩 was cooked to perfection - sliced like butter - and the gnocchi 🥔 was a perfect compliment. Caesar salad 🥗 was bright and bursting with a perfect blend of the fresh Parmesan and dressing. Tiramisu was on point and the lemon 🍋 cookie 🍪 was a creamy, tart but sweet little surprise! Would recommend and will come again when in area!

Amazing atmosphere, drinks, and food! Just a beautiful place with delicious everything! There is indoor and outdoor seating. Service was excellent!

I’ve been coming here with my family for years - one of my favorite spots in St. Paul. We sat on the roof for the first time last night and it was a perfect summer night. I got a special - the crab Louis salad - and it was the BEST salad I’ve ever had. Hands down. I hope they put it on the menu…I’d be a regular!! Calm and peaceful atmosphere and speedy service. You can’t go wrong with Louis!

We discovered this gem about two months ago and made a special trip back a couple weeks later because it was so good. They have my favorite dish, pasta with clams (vongole) and my husband has been LOVING the sausage appetizer (the one that isn’t even marked as their house special). I am so happy to have found this restaurant and see a long future eating there!

Google
I love this restaurant! I think they probably have one of the best dessert menus in the Twin Cities! We came here post-show at the Ordway. The rooftop is nice and has a nice atmosphere. First, the server gave us a sampling of their cucumber salad and some bruschetta pomodoro. They were delicious, but because it was my birthday, I wanted pasta. I ordered the Mama C's spaghetti, and my sister ordered the Linguini alla Vongole (clam in white whine sauce). Both were very tasty and satisfying. I also ordered a broccoli rabe on the side to cut through this hearty meal. This meal was complimented by limoncellos... very bright and refreshing! To dessert! I ordered the Dolce Sole, which is a lemon-based dessert. It is decadent and a palate cleanser. A perfect way to cap the evening! FYI these desserts are available for a slightly better price downstairs at Cossetta's.

Excellent Italian restaurant in the heart of Saint Paul . Appetizers and desserts were good. Patio ambience is great

Freaking love this place, so many things to peruse and purchase. I strongly suggest visiting if you're a local or out of town. Update July 12th, '24 Cons: Service wasn't the best. the server wasn't very on top of their game. Had them come back multiple times, forgetting what I ordered. Just didn't feel very oiled as my last time here. Pros: The server was very apologetic. Kind and sweet. Gave us a free dessert at the end of the meal. Food and drinks were delicious. Great amount and quality for the price. Will definitely be coming back again. Cuz at the end of the day, it's one of my go-to fine dining spots in the cities

Yelp
Perfect summer rooftop patio vibes! But I prefer the delectable food downstairs at Cossetta's. Best part is the outdoor patio with breathtaking views of the Cathedral. Apps were just okay. Cocktails were delicious. Service was excellent. Of all the apps we tried, my fav was FRITTO MISTO (the one with Calamari). Pro Tips: you can get the best of both worlds by eating dinner downstairs at Cossetta's first, then coming upstairs to Louis for drinks, apps or desserts. Also, we ordered wine by the bottle and shared for the table.

Yelp
Great service and great food. We have gotten the carpaccio which was okay, the meat was fatty and chewy so it didn't feel the best. Caprese salad was great but some tomatoes were overripe but still was great bite! Ravioli was perfect and Salmonella alla Griglia was tasty! The outdoor bar and seating is pleasing especially in the sunny days!

Yelp
This restaurant holds a special place in my heart, as it's where my boyfriend and I went to on our first ever weekend getaway. Now celebrating three years, we returned and it was just as good as I remembered. The hostess was kind enough to offer us a table in their secondary dining room, which was much quieter and more private than the main area. It was also decorated beautifully for the holidays which added to the cozy atmosphere. Above all else, the highlight of the meal was the portion size. I ordered the chicken parmesan, which came with two large breasts and a generous side of pasta. For $30, I definitely felt I got my money's worth, as I had enough leftover for a second meal.

Mary C T.

Yelp
Service was great and very knowledgeable of food allergies, and the cocktails were wonderful!! Food was incredibly mid, the chicken was dry, the pasta store-bought, and everything was acidic. Waiting over an hour for food, especially when most of what came out was dry, made the $250 price tag incredibly unappealing.

Yelp
We've been to Cosettas and like all the options but wanted to try Louis since it was in the building. Parking can be tricky, but we didn't wait long. The other half of our party didn't wait a few minutes and went to the ramp across the street and had to pay. We got seated right away. The service was great. Not rushed nor were we left looking for our server. Loved the dark wood atmosphere! It bright warm and cozy vibes. Our apps were good. What's not to love about fried cheese! It was like a mozzarella stick but in square form. It was oozing warm cheese. The other app could have been a meal. It was beef with polenta. My aperol spritz was so yummy! Meal was wonderful no complaints from anyone. We took home leftovers. Great tasting authentic canoli. We were 5 minutes too late getting downstairs for gelato! Some wanted to check out all the desserts there. So my hubby didn't get dessert. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Heavy door :) Read lots of mixed reviews, so I'll say I was nervous to try, since no one from our group had been there. I would have felt bad as they came from Chaska. But we all enjoyed the experience.

Yelp
I read reviews of Louis Restaurante & Bar raving about their fun patio, and yet we stopped by in March. Not to worry, it was still excellent!! It has an almost speakeasy vibe with dark wood and a fantastic bar. We grabbed a quick house cocktail (perfect), house caesar (highly recommend), and house-made pasta (Rigatoni and Pappardelle). The food was excellent and the service was delightful. Our servers were bubbly and well-informed when it came to their menu. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of all aspects of this restaurant. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
Food was great. Service was excellent. Staff were attentive. Diners next booth to us are a little too loud, otherwise the ambiance would have been great as well. Complimentary dessert for our birthday celebrant was a nice treat.

Yelp
This beautiful restaurant is the perfect place for a romantic date or a special night out with family. It is small and cozy, but also offers a unique experience with its location above Cosetta's atop the building in historic downtown St. Paul. The patio area is beautifully decorated for the holiday season, which only adds to its charm. They do take reservations, which is a massive perk, especially when Cossetta's on the lower level becomes swamped with people after Wild games, concerts, and shows at the Xcel Center across the street. My family and I made a reservation for after a MN Wild Hockey game. The walk from the Xcel was one block and we simply took the elevator up to level 3 once inside Cossetta's. Louis Restaurant doesn't open until 4pm, but we made our reservation for that time...and glad we did! There were hundreds of people who flocked to Cossetta's (which is one of our favorite eateries), but we were with a family member who couldn't stand for long periods and we also wanted to celebrate her birthday! Louis is the perfect place to do it. The service was courteous and kind, the restaurant itself clean and cozy, and the food was absolutely Devine. The lasagna and spaghetti are always crowd/pleasers. I tried the butternut squash ravioli special and it was one of the most delicious meals I've ever had...absolutely delicious! All food was lightly seasoned and arrived hot. The real treasure are their desserts! There is a full patisserie shop on the lower level, but you may order sampler trays of their items through Louis' or specialty items from their kitchen...either way they will be absolutely delicious

Yelp
We had a delightful experience at Louis. Our server Kaycee was one of the best servers we have had in a long time. She was attentive, pleasant & knowledgeable! Her input was appreciated as we decided what to order. Because parking was a long wait (wild game) I ordered the fruit & cheese plate so the rest of the family could eat something as soon as they made it to the table. It was a good size for a 4 person split. Our number one favorite item was the Figs, delicious!! Everyone enjoyed their entree. Chicken Florentine, Chicken Marsala, grilled salmon and a shrimp & pasta dish. Generous portions and great flavors. We decided to get dessert to go downstairs at the patisserie. If you are looking for a finer dining experience than the first floor of cossetta's climb to the top of the stairs it is worth it.

Yelp
Upscale restaurant having an off night in the kitchen. We had three mains and two salads for our dinners: the endive salad was disappointing, long unnchopped pieces mixed in with the rest. Caprese salad, loads of mozzarella but no basil? Rigatoni with vodka sauce as a special, some pasta tough (cooked short of al dente) though the sauce was excellent. Ordered a glass of wine to have with dinner and it arrived when I was half-done. Server was lovely and could see the dinners were off. Save your money and try the cheaper market on the first floor, I guess.

Yelp
Great restaurant in the heart of St. Paul! We stopped here before an event and had great service and the food was delicious! I had the FILLETTO ALLA GRIGLIA and it was cooked to perfection! If your looking for a fancy dinner or a good date night meal, Louis is the place to go!

Yelp
We ate at Louis Ristorante to celebrate a special occasion. Our food was great. Members in our party ordered Chicken Parmesan, lasagna, and shrimp pasta with pesto (cannot remember the menu name). Tiramisu and creme brûlée for dessert. Everyone's food was great. Great ambiance.

Yelp
We went here to celebrate our family July birthdays. I have to admit I was thinking it would just be more Cosetta's food but I was very wrong. It was a rainy night so we had to sit inside but the patio and views are beautiful. The indoor decor is dark and cozy. I chose the special pork chop meal and it was excellent. The pork chop was juicy and flavorful. The calamata olives, tomatoes, onions, and broccoli accompaniment gave the meal a very Mediterranean vibe. Delicious. The rest of my family also enjoyed their dinners very much. Great choice. Because we were celebrating birthdays, the two birthday girls got a free dessert - what a great treat. Parking behind Cosetta's is a nightmare so get there early enough to find some on street parking.

Yelp
As visitors, we were told to go to Cossetta for the best Italian food, but we didn't really want to order in line and have the cafeteria feel, so we headed all the way to the 3rd floor to "Louis", very confused if it was the same restaurant and food or not. The outdoor patio was very nice and the weather perfect for it. The tables are tiny though, you can barely have 2 plates on there. I didn't like being served my water in a plastic cup (why?!) but the espresso martini was good (on the sweet side), and the waitress was nice. The fried mozzarella was giant and delicious, I recommend to share (see the pic), and I got their famous chicken Marsala and polenta and loved it. Overall I recommend for a good Italian. For 2 beers, one espresso martini, the app and 2 dishes we ended up at just over $100, so on the pricey side.

Yelp
Ordered a margarita & I sent it back.... It was a 3/10... yes it was that bad. For dinner I ordered the pasta special, shrimp, pesto pasta. Flavor was great, portion was nice but they put 3 shrimp on the plate for almost $30.00!! Pasta is cheap they didn't need to skimp on the shrimp. It was beautiful weather so I sat on the outdoor patio which is really nice. All in all because of the patio and the flavor of the dish I would give it three stars. I wouldn't go out of my way to come back, but I would come here to have a beer (not mixed drink) on the patio!

Yelp
After exploring the city on foot for hours, I needed a simple meal and glass of wine to regroup and rest. This was perfection. The greeting was warm and accommodating, even without a reservation, on an extremely busy evening. The pasta e fagioli, caprese salad, fresh bread, and glass of Chianti was exactly right..delicious, flavorful, all excellent quality. The service provided by Olive was outstanding in every way. A complete joy of a meal...seated in a peaceful corner at a window overlooking the gorgeous Cathedral of Saint Paul. Memorable.

Yelp
I was impressed with our meal last night and the drink. For appetizer, I would recommend the Caesar Salad with with crispy asaigo and brick crostini. The Asiago was really good and baked perfectly. I also enjoyed their Pollo Florentine, which is chicken scaloppine sautéed in garlic, topped with spinach, and mozzarella with a lemon and white wine sauce served with creamy polenta. Everything was tasty, but wish I would have chose a different side than the creamy polenta. I had a Wild Mule cocktail and that was made just how I like em! Very historic place with a ton of old photos and the service was AMAZING and on point.

Yelp
My wife and I recently went here for a date night it was the first night either of us have ever been to this restaurant. My only complaint is we had an 8:45 reservation and they stopped taking dinner orders at 9:00 I'll put that on me although they should have been a little more clear when we made the reservation. The servers were prompt and very helpful. The atmosphere was amazing old school Italian with pictures all over the wall and old 1930s music playing. The atmosphere is one of the main things I would go again for it was really nice. We had a very nice loaf of table bread that was made that day served with fresh olive oil and pepper cracked. For a main course we had the lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs both were amazing and very traditional Italian not American style. My wife had a glass of wine she enjoyed from their extensive wine list. By the time we got done with our main meals we were so full that we didn't do dessert although they have amazing desserts. One of the interesting things is that to get here you have to walk up six flights of stairs in a very small staircase. I would say this also led to the ambience. I will definitely be back again to try everything else on the amazing menu.

Yelp
I had a dinner date here with my girlfriends and we decided to hit up the rooftop. The restaurant does not take any reservations for rooftop seating, so it is first come, first serve. However when we got there at 6:30 PM, they were able to find a table to accommodate the four of us. It took a while for the waiter to come around and even longer for the food to come out but that was fine since it was such a beautiful evening. If you like Italian food, you should definitely check out this place.
google avatar

Kathleen K.

Yelp
Cozy & delicious meal at Louis!!! We heard it was the best Caesar salad in town, so the majority of us started with a salad. I had the Brick chicken and it was tasty and fresh, perfectly timed. (The spinach was a little forgettable, and I probably would have been more into the greenery if I hadn't started with a salad, so my fault!) The Bruschetta Pomodoro starter tasted like a garden. The place itself has amazing traditional Italian restaurant energy. It was an elegant place and would be a nice chill dinner spot for a celebration. Our server Jen was wonderful to us, and we made it to our musical on time! Another thing to note- we had one vegan with us and many of the dishes and sauces cannot be altered to accommodate, but she survived with some spaghetti! We had a big round table which made for great conversation. Busy parking lot & street parking. Nice bathrooms! Lots of stairs, but an elevator is available. Nice and close to Xcel and Ordway etc.
google avatar

Caryn M.

Yelp
The food tasted ok. However, I am removing stars due to the service. Our server, Jen, was condescending and rude. It wasn't what she said, but how she said it. If I wasn't traveling with a group I would have walked out. Be aware, they do not cater to substitutions unless it's an allergy. If you have ANY sensitivities I don't recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
10/10 experience at the bar. Jack and Kyle went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of. They went above and beyond to make sure my needs were met. I will be returning!!!

Yelp
5/31/22: Located in St. Paul, Louis (a little nicer) is upstairs from their sister restaurant, Cossetta (more casual). There's a small, free parking lot with limited space. There's also paid parking down the street. We were in the private room and had 2 servers for our group of ~20 (there's a minimum purchase amount you'll need to spend). The service was quite attentive & excellent. There are clean restrooms upstairs. The appetizers were good, especially the bruschetta, the salad was excellent (and my favorite food of the night), the salmon was good (at least it wasn't dry or overcooked), the sides of potatoes & asparagus were good, and the desserts were from Cossetta. I tried all four desserts: listed from the best/most favorite down to my least fave were chocolate torte (so rich & delicious), mango mousse (reminded me of a Filipino dessert. At least it didn't taste like fake mango), tiramisu (good, but I actually like tiramisu better from other restaurants I've tried), and finally, raspberry mousse (nothing memorable). So if you're dining downstairs, chocolate lovers, get the chocolate torte! You're welcome. If you're more of a lighter sweets/fruity desserts person, then the mango mousse will satisfy you. I tried a sparkling white wine with my appetizers & opted for that with my dinner as well. They also had white & red wine to pair with your entree selections (we had a choice among five entrees, which is rare and quite accommodating for a wedding reception). I absolutely loved their high end brand tea that they serve, which went nicely with my desserts. Overall, while nothing fancy, it was a nice, quiet & intimate dining venue for a small wedding dinner reception. One of the better wedding meals I've had throughout the years.

Yelp
Great experience, average food at best. Loved the ambiance, really nice setting. Server was super nice and knowledgable on the menu. Drinks were...fine? Got a tanqueray and tonic and it was ok. Other half got a mule and it was ok. Oddly enough, the highest end bourbon they had was makers mark. Got a couple of appetizers, they weren't very good. Got the Spiedini and the Meatballs. Meatballs were not good, really dry and not much flavor. Spiedini was cooked well, but zero flavor. Ceasar salad was really good. Got an order of the chicken parm and the rigatoni norcino. Chicken parm was decent, nothing special. Rigatoni was better, but still nothing special. Honestly, it's like slightly elevated olive garden food. Would eat here again if we had to, but certainly wouldn't seek it out.

Mandy C.

Yelp
I wish I could say something nice about the food here but we've been 3 times in the last few years with distance between each visit, hoping the food would be better because the ambiance and service is so great. The food is basically cafeteria food that you pay top dollar for. The last time we were there we ordered the calamari (flavorless and greasy), Burrata (tomatoes just diced bushel boy mush) I would never have even served them to company let alone serve them at a restaurant and charge $19. That Burrata comes with one small wedge of bread. My boyfriend ordered the Linguine with Clam Sauce. At nearly $40 dollars a plate, this should be SENSATIONAL. Trust me, it's not. I ordered the Charcuterie which was just odd. The meat was fine. Hard to mess up olives. But served with two small twisted pieces of very chewy bread. Try making a bread stick work with your Charcuterie meat and cheese. Not exactly an ideal pairing. I suggest the kitchen staff visit a place like Bar LA Grasa or Tongue in Cheek where you'll be hard pressed to try something that doesn't become your new favorite thing. I know this review is harsh but a restaurant that charges as much as Louis should have spectacular food. It just isn't worth ever going back at this point.

Yelp
Awesome setting with outstanding food. Go for the home made sausage. Service was spot on even with the pre-hockey game crowd

Yelp
Visited Louis Ristorante for the first time about one week ago and the food was decent, as well until we were asked if we would like anything more... Then never saw our waiter again. Also, take note that the patio outside is overrun with wasps and no staff seem to care when you complain as they land on you and your food.

Peter B.

Yelp
I had dinner at Louis several months ago, and it was quite good - good enough that I recommended it to family and friends tonight. Frankly, it was one of the most underwhelming meals we had all had in a long time. To start, cocktails were marginal, at best. I've had better Manhattans at a brew pub. The charcuterie board was attractive, but quite bland. I'm a die hard "leave the gun, take the cannoli" 100% Italian Italian. I know my stuff. Almost everything on it was "Midwest Italian", lacking depth and complexity. My brother and I both agreed we could do far better in our kitchens. Entrees? I'm a little embarrassed that I recommended the veal saltimbocca from my last visit, this time, served over-salted and with almost inedible broccolini. My lobster risotto was so over-seasoned and heavily flavored that the ample lobster simply vanished, completely overpowered. It's a shame I couldn't actually taste the lobster. What's the point? In contrast, the special pasta my second brother ordered was unremarkable and bland. Three Ultra-Italian brothers and my sister-in-law, and I don't think any of us have been so unimpressed at a $300 meal. A high point - the arugula salad with a lemon vinaigrette was very good - though the parmigiana really needed to be sharper for the exciting dressing. Come on Cosetta's! My family has been dining at your home for decades. You can do better. Please don't embarrass our people again.

Santina U.

Yelp
My cousin and I came here before a concert. I'm glad I made a reservation because it was PACKED. First things first, the food was excellent. I got the arrabiata with shrimp, a Caesar salad and for apps we got the bruschetta. Now the service, I know it was busy but our server only checked on us when she brought out the food. The complimentary bread came out after the app and salad was gone. And we seemed to get our food after many people who arrived after us got their food and left. The atmosphere, SO loud. We could barely have a conversation. I think I would come back if there wasn't an event at the Xcel and hopefully it'd be better.
google avatar

Jon N.

Yelp
Come here regularly every 4 months and take out clients every time. I have not had one bad dish here. My colleague and I eat her multiple days. Only 1 bad experience with a frustrated server of the dozen or so times I've been here, but management made it all good.

Jim R.

Yelp
Small family dinner with two young kids(5 and 7) . Our waiter went out of his way to make the kids feel special, speaking to them directly. Recommended Super Tuscan was spot on and there take on a mule well made. Cheese board was a good starter for the table. My linguine with clams was excellent well spiced with red pepper and the background of lemon finished each bite delightfully. Just enough sauce to finish with good bread. Sausage and peppers ,pork chop and chicken dish's all well done. Kids pastas were perfect for them , finished off theirs with a very good chocolate gelato. The service all around professional and attentive! Very airy with a delightful evening breeze blowing through the bar. Thank you for a very nice evening!

Yelp
Louis is the upstairs, higher-end sister to Cossetta's. We were excited to go for a birthday celebration. The space itself looks like a classic old-school Italian restaurant complete with dim, intimate lighting and old photos on the walls. This is not the place to come for modern, creative cuisine- instead it is old-school traditional Italian fare. Our server was kind, but had no knowledge of the wine menu, which was disappointing. She had to ask the bartender for wine recommendations, and even he didn't seem to have the knowledge to educate us on the wine menu. Overall, this was an OK experience- I guess I was expecting more from this higher-end restaurant.

Shelly E.

Yelp
My husband had their LASAGNE DELLA NONNA and farmer's salad for dinner. He got so sick from the food. Throwing up twice. I had PENNE ALL' ARRABBIATA and side of meatballs. I had a stomach ache. Called and talked with the manager the next day to tell them. He apologized and would tell the chef. We will not go back there at all ever.

Joseph O.

Yelp
It was okay, but not exceptional and not worth the high price. Everything was too salty. The pasta was definitely not al-dente, it seemed overcooked. Ironically, the food was worse than Cossetta's downstairs, but at about 50% higher prices. The server was vaguely condescending to us the whole time, like somehow constantly reminding us we were out of place there. Also, we didn't really intend to eat here. I was with a party that wanted to reserve a table to eat at Cossetta's together. One of our group called to reserve a table, and we were told we had a table reserved at Cossetta's. . .but when we got there we were lead upstairs to Louis. It wasn't clear until we were arriving at the table that we weren't eating at Cossetta's and were eating at a place that was more expensive and not the atmosphere we were looking for. If Cossetta's couldn't handle a reserved party, we would have appreciated that and made other plans. The decor and ambiance are high-class, but it felt like a "bait & switch" to call Cossetta's and say we'd like a table there to eat, to meet at Cossetta's and see the food there, then be lead to a different place with a different (and more expensive) menu and more formal dining environment (complete with a server who was always passive-aggressively reminding us we really weren't dressed or fitting in to the more upscale environment we didn't expect to be eating at).

Tanya K.

Yelp
Louis has my heart. The staff are the sweetest, the food is delicious and the whole place feels like a warm Italian hug. My favorite spot in St. Paul Rigatoni norcino is my all time favorite & you can add Chicken or shrimp, I've had both & they're phenomenal. I'm not much of a bread eater but here you have to be, the bread + olive oil + cracked pepper. Chef's kiss.

Yelp
Take the stairs or grab an elevator and get your ass up to this restaurant. Everything downstairs is excellent too but your money is best spent on the top floor. Treat yourself, you will thank me for it. The service is impeccable and the food is otherworldly, everything from the sauce to the steak is premium. The patio is lovely but I highly recommend the ambience in the main room.

Yelp
What a treat to eat on the patio during nice weather days in St. Paul! My friend and I came during Happy Hour on a Friday, and though it was sunny, it was really windy! However, we got to treat ourselves to some local beer and a bellini to end! Service was phenomenal from beginning to end, and appreciated our waitress' recomendations too. To start we had the arancini, meatballs, and spiedini di mozzarella (rec from the waitress). The mozzarella was so incredibly fluffy, light, and amazingly good. WOW. Don't feel like I'd find that anywhere else as usually it's heavy as heck. The sauce it was in paired perfectly. The arancini was great too, tons of toppings inside and fried to perfection. The meatballs were just ok to me but not a big fan of them to begin with! Wanted some pasta, and there were only a few options unfortunately for the patio area. Ordered the rigatoni norcino but subbed for spaghetti. The moment I had the pasta in my mouth, it was....heavy and rich central! Omg. Not in a good way. We couldn't really eat this pasta, though the ingredients were all great. We also ordered a salad with chicken which was really good. Lastly, they surprised my friend with a tiramisu and I normally do not like this dessert at all. It was fantastic here. Not too sweet at all. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Yelp
Ambiance and restaurant setting is very nice. Rooftop bar probably is the Main attraction besides if you consider the restaurants history with it. Customer service wasn't excellent but good. No complaints. But here's why the 3 stars: The restaurant food is so so and mediocre but at a higher price. No authenticity about being Italian or anything. Food did not look or taste homemade. You can get these dishes and platter at Whole Foods or Other hot food at grocery stores and it would taste the same or even better depends on who is cooking or prepping that day. So if your there to have drinks and enjoy the rooftop bar then it's good. But if your talking about the food, over priced and not authentic or tasty where you can get these dishes at Olive Garden or other Italian food restaurants and chain for a cheaper price. Basically is over priced mediocre food ; your just paying for the ambiance and rooftop bar.

Yelp
This place is really cool if you're looking for a date night with lots of delicious food. The staff is nice and the roof top is a really nice touch. Their food is really good and I like that they offer a seasonal menu. Another plus side is the fact that the downstairs area is a another total different eating facility. You can get stuff to go fir lunch the next day or get some bomb gelato and pastries. Overall, it was a really nice experience.

Yelp
I was so happy when the rooftop at Cosetta opened some years ago. While I love the "cafeteria style" below, Louis offers a more traditional, authentic Italian meal. If you can snag a seat outside during the warmer months, do, you won't be disappointed. Food and drink more spendy than what you have downstairs. Portions are huge, easily splittable, if you'd like to go that route. Had the chicken parm last time I was here. Wasn't out if this world, but was very serviceable. Hubs had the veal saltimbocca. He seemed to enjoy it, although he said he would have preferred the crisp of a breaded chicken. There were also some specials listed on the chalkboard. We found out those are typically only for the patio, but if you ask your server nicely, they will make them for you. Arancini were on that menu and they are my absolute favorite Italian snack, so I appreciate that the kitchen made them for us. Also had an Aperol Spritz to drink and it was a pleasant sipper with my meal.

Yelp
Fantastic dinner with friends. Had Cioppino! Highly recommend it. All desserts are delicious!

Yelp
If the weather is nice, eat outside! It's a lot more of a casual atmosphere! We came for the Cioppino but it wasn't on the outside menu. Asked our great server Liz about it and she said it was available on the full menu but we could still order it outside. I highly recommend you get this and share it with someone because it's huge! And DELICIOUS! The Frito Misto was also huge and quite tasty! Skip the tiramisu as it's mostly only mousse, hardly any ladyfingers.

Yelp
Never had a bad meal here! The polenta is to die for and always good specials and drinks. The service is always very good, probably could use a fee more bussers. It can get really loud in there when its full but if you go when there's NOT an event at the X - it's delightful:)

Yelp
I made a reservation for Louis Ristorante after a friend recommended I grab dinner at Cossetta before going to a Minnesota Wild game. It really was the perfect location and a quick walk to the Xcel Energy Center. The food was pretty good--leaps and bounds above an Olive Garden, but still not out of the park as some other Italian restaurants I've been to. The service, however, was incredible! Our waitress was so sweet and checked on us often. We started our meal with the Spiedini di Mozzarella. As expected with a block of fried cheese, it was scrumptious. We then moved on to share a tasty Formaggi & Frutta board. I'm a total sucker for a good cheese board, who isn't? The toasted bread was coated in this perfectly sweet honey, a move I'll definitely try to recreate for my boards at home. After that came the Rigatoni Norcini. It was packed with flavor but I must say it took me out for the count. That pasta sat in my stomach like a brick.. not ideal for trying to enjoy a hockey game moments after. The cherry on top was the free dessert I got to choose for celebrating my birthday. While their dessert menu consisted of all my favorite things, my stomach was at capacity so I had to settle for the vanilla gelato. Luckily, the dessert was quietly dropped off with a lit candle and they held off on singing Happy Birthday, which was the real treat.

Yelp
I'm writing this review two days after. That's how much of an impression the food here left on me. I had been to this bar multiple times for drinks but I finally got food two days ago. I got the lasagna and OMG it was good. Very very good. Get the lasagna. It is super good. I also got the focaccia and the tiramisu. Both okay. The tiramisu wasn't the classic tiramisu which I love. Overall, best lasagna I'v had
