Quince and Cotogna Restaurant Owners to Open New Gelato and Coffee Shop in Jackson Square - Eater SF
"The National Park Service, which owns the former Louis’ Restaurant space also above Ocean Beach, is not looking for a new vendor to move into the building." - Lauren Saria
Louis’ Restaurant, the 83-Year-Old Diner at Ocean Beach, Is Permanently Closed - Eater SF
"Since February 14, 1937, the Hountlas family has operated Louis’, a midcentury-looking diner clinging to the cliff above San Francisco’s Ocean Beach. That 83-year run has officially ended, the family announced Monday night, as the pandemic made the restaurant’s reopening impossible. Now the fate of the building lies with the National Park Service, which says it hasn’t decided what to do with the iconic space." - Eve Batey
This place is a lot cheaper than the cliff house but I think it has a much better view of the ocean and the greenery nearby. It was awesome watching the sunset while eating a hot grilled cheese sandwich (it was chilly that day). The staff are friendly. There’s quite a few options available. Slightly overpriced. They only accept cash. There is an atm inside the cafe. I would definitely go again.

awesome little diner with a wonderful history. The food here isn’t SUPER cheap but it’s also not crazy expensive by sf standards. For what it’s worth you get a bunch of food with your serving.
The coffee is hot and comforting. The view is amazing. The service is kind and friendly. It’s an old SF place that seems to have an old SF feel. IMHO, it’s worth the visit.

Gorgeous views. Went before the rush of people so we didn’t even have to wait. Prices are about standard. Staff was super sweet. And my French dip was delicious, added cheddar cheese to it!

Incredible views without having to spend $70 a plate at the Cliff House a block away! The food is reasonably priced and you can't beat the view! The patty melt burger on rye bread was delicious, fries were meh. Cash only so have some cash on hand.

The perfect and affordable way to fill your empty stomach after a walk on the Coast Trail, while enjoying magnificent views to the Pacific Ocean at Land's End. Good value for money, especially considering the location.
