Upon approaching the counter, I inquired about the recommended dishes at the establishment as a first-time customer. The young lady suggested trying the gumbo, which is reportedly a popular choice among patrons. I decided to order the chicken, shrimp, and sausage gumbo, along with a 1/4 chicken meal that included macaroni and cheese and collard greens, as well as a side of chicken red beans and rice.
Unfortunately, I found the overall quality of the food to be subpar. The flavors were lacking and the dishes tasted bland, reminiscent of hospital cafeteria fare. It is my opinion that the Farmington Hills location would benefit from having a chef reassess the recipes and flavors of their menu items. I was disappointed to have spent $32 on a meal that did not meet my expectations.
