Our family had a great time on this tour! Our guide, Angelique, was engaging, very knowledgeable, and easy to listen to. It was very nice she used a microphone so everyone could hear her nice and clear. Even though, the weather was hot and humid, the walk and terrain was easily manageable. The houses and architecture were just beautiful! I felt like I was in another world walking through the courtyards, simply amazing. The stories were the icing on the cake. I would highly recommend this tour, it does not disappoint!

Google
Awesome tour! David was extremely knowledgeable and shows us around an incredible neighbourhood. Can’t imagine a better tour to start with in Louisville. Great representation of the city, interesting history and well worth the trip. Ended up doing both the Original Tour and the Ghost Tour. Both great. Highly recommend.

We had an amazing time on the The Eerie Old Louisville Photo Tour! Our guide, Jamie was not only knowledgeable but also a fantastic storyteller who really brought the city's spooky past to life. From haunted homes to eerie trees, each stop was filled with tales and fascinating local history. The pace was perfect, enough walking to enjoy the sights without being tiring and the atmosphere as we wandered the historic streets at night made everything feel just a bit more eerie (in the best way!). We learned so much about Louisville’s haunted past. Whether you're a skeptic or a believer, this tour is a fun, engaging way to explore the darker side of the city. Highly recommend for locals and visitors alike! Thanks, Jamie!

Google
Our Viator walking tour through Old Historical Louisville to see the homes was incredible! David was a wealth of information, SO very knowledgeable and personable. We enjoyed his tour very much, had no idea there was so much history and interesting stories. I recommend this tour to anyone visiting Louisville, it’s worth every penny and then some!

We took the daytime Old Louisville Walking Tour with Angelique and had a wonderful time! Angelique is extremely knowledgeable about history and architecture. She kept us engaged throughout the entire tour. Highly Recommend.

I have previously taken a ghost tour with this company and enjoyed it. But unfortunately, their “nulu bites and sites” tour is … well, it’s awful. For $129, we were given a cookie, a piece of candy, and a few pieces of ham and cheese on some bread. That’s it. (There were other stops advertised on the site when we booked, but they were all either closed or wouldn’t let us in???) At the end of our 4-ish hour tour we also were served a beer and two pours of bourbon, which nobody wanted on an empty stomach. I’m not sure what went into the thought behind the food, as not much explanation was given, but a food tour this is not. At one point, another guest bought some snacks to share with the group, because we were all famished! Story wise, it was mostly a ghost/murder tour, which wasn’t advertised and personally, not stories I found enjoyable - several gruesome stories involving deaths of children, told in front of various derelict, boarded up buildings or random street corners. At one point we walked about an hour out of NuLu in the hot sun, passing by parking lots and power grids covered in barbed wire, stopping only for more horrifying stories and to go into a church. At one point during this stretch we stopped for yet another gruesome child death story in front of a homeless shelter that I guess used to be a church, and it felt really uncomfortable to be part of a tour group gawking at people clearly struggling. Worst of all, at one point we passed next to someone in an absolutely awful situation in a field with a needle sticking out of their arm, with several other folks hiding in the bushes, staring at us. I really wish I was making this up. I am not sure what the thought was behind this tour, but I absolutely don’t recommend taking it. There is another local company that offers a food tour in NuLu that I will be doing next time.

Google
Angelique was an awesome tour guide. The tour was very informative and it was interesting to hear the stories. I am certain we even caught some ghostly figures in our photos.

I am a local Louisvillian going on three years, and my paranormal romance author best friend Daisy came to town for a visit, so we decided to go on the Louisville ghost tour. We are both blind, so I texted our guide Angelique ahead of time, and she was incredibly accommodating and easygoing. The stories were incredible and realistic, and my friend Daisy got lots of research in for her writing. We also learned some really cool little fun facts about the city along the way. I wish I could give this tour six stars, and I will be recommending to everyone!

Yelp
Gabe was the tour guide and he did an incredible job! GORGEOUS old Louisville tour and as a local it resulted in some new go-to spots for me for nice evening walks. Recommend for anyone visiting or local!

Yelp
I came in town for a work trip back in March and found this tour online. I've been on a few ghost tours across US and this was by far the best! Angelique is a great story teller and you can see the passion. At the end of the tour we got a make a wish(I won't say how..don't want to ruin the surprise!). There was also an option for a Paranormal tour as well! I would highly recommended taking this tour!!

Yelp
Angelique was a great narrator. We had an incredible historical Ghost Tour. Definitely Fun & Spooky Vibes. I loved walking this beautiful yet creepy haunted neighborhood, surrounded by these beautiful Victorian Houses. I was literally in awe of this neighborhood. History at its finest!

Yelp
Fabulous tour! David is extremely friendly and knowledgeable about all things Louisville! We learned so much!!

Yelp
My wife and I were visiting from at Atlanta for her birthday week and decided that it would be cool to do a house tour. We were definitely pleased at how knowledgeable our tour guide Mr. Gabe was and how thorough he was able to break down the history of the homes and its past and present residents. So if you are interested in architecture and history I would undoubtedly say you should get a tour with this company you will thank me later!!!!!

Yelp
Link to full review: https://bit.ly/3LpCqdn This tour was the best I've ever been on...and I've booked a lot of them. Sorry NOLA, none of your tours, wonderful as they've been, top the lovely and mysterious Angelique. The communication was top notch. I received a very detailed text and message in the Get Your Guide app telling me where to meet the guide and giving details about the length of the tour. They sent the messages the day before and on the day, so no chance to forget your booking. The booking in the app is always great. Easy and you can delay payment until close to the date if you wish. I took this tour on my birthday and was quite excited about it. The night didn't disappoint. This was June 2024, and it was HOT in Louisville. The temps were in the 90s and the heat like a wall. Our guide, Angelique, came dressed in costume with a beautiful long skirt and scarf over her hair. It was kind of a gypsy/pirate princess vibe. And she was the most lovely person. Sweet, patient, always answering any question. Her knowledge of the tour and the sites we visited was INCREDIBLE. We all commented to each other how astounding it was that she knew so much about each house, Louisville in general and the history...paranormal or not. It was so hot outside and we walked about 1.5 miles. We were all sweating and had to keep mopping our faces, but Angelique never missed a beat. We told her we couldn't believe she did the tour like the temps were comfortable. When we stopped at the park at a drink stand, I got her a ginger ale hoping it would help cool her down. I was dying (typical Canadian lol) and couldn't believe she never sat on things as we did and was able to talk and tell us stories like it wasn't 93 F at 8PM. My favourite spots on the tour were the First Church of Scientists and house painted pink for women's suffrage, a house that they probably based the first American Horror Story season on and the Conrad-Caldwell House, and the wonderful and very detailed stories she told about them. There were many others. We passed so many beautiful houses, and I snapped a ton of pictures. I also LOVED the witches tree stop and story that related to NOLA. There was a lovely lady on the tour who told me about azaleas and how to plant them after we passed some at a house. Everyone on this vacation (barring the car rental guy) was so friendly and I had awesome experiences meeting everyone I did in Louisville. The night was even more magical as we passed through the park, I think it was Central Park, and the fireflies came out. We could hear actors putting on plays as a free Shakespeare in the Park festival was going on. There was a cute stand there to buy drinks ( I guess Louisville has an open container policy like New Orleans?) with bathrooms. The tour started at 7:30 and was supposed to go 90 minutes, but Angelique kept telling us history and stories until almost 10PM. She even sang a different version of Happy Birthday to me...I won't go into detail and ruin the story. The stories were interesting, some sad and Angelique knew how to tell a great joke. She even gave us cards that referenced an author and some of his books we learned about so we could pick them up. I finished the tour by going back to the Church to try to snap a picture of the sad ghost we had heard about at the beginning of the tour, and Angelique pointed it out to me. No ghost picture, but when I got back to my car, there was this gorgeous light that changed colour. My birthday couldn't have ending up any more perfect. If you find yourself in Louisville, KY, you MUST take this tour, and hope you end up with Angelique for a guide. And it benefits the Filson Historical Society, who keeps all this history safe. At one point, all these houses were slated to be torn down and they were saved, thank god! Old Louisville truly has a magical feel to it that is beyond special and should never be replaced. Thank you, Angelique! Louisville is definitely on my list for future visits so I can learn even more.

Yelp
We loved the ghost tour this past wkd in Louisville! Brenda was awesome - so many great stories and never got annoyed with all our follow-up questions. highly recommend!

Yelp
A nice experience and lovely late night stroll. Our tour guide Quinten was amazing at both storytelling and stating the facts. Old Louisville is stunning and learning about the haunting history made it even more memorable. I highly recommend this tour!!

Yelp
We had a great time on our Ghost Tour with Quentin despite it being rainy. We love a ghost tour when visiting a city. You get so much information. Quentin even told my group a ghost story about the inn we were staying at because it wasn't on the tour.

Yelp
The ghost tour was such a fantastic tour. We went as part of our date night and it was such a fun experience. Brenda our tour guide was so friendly and professional. Her delivery of the material was educational and entertaining. We walked around old Louisville and learned about the different ghost stories and legends, some dating back hundreds of years and other haunting a bit more modern. We felt very safe and cared for on our tour. Brenda did a great job answering our questions, keeping us safe when crossing any busier intersections and making sure we all had a great time. Now I want to do the other Louisville tours in this series. Was a perfect ending to our date night. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to learn more about Louisvilles history and some of the creepier legends lurking in those old Victorians! Truly a haunted city!

Yelp
This tour was fantastic! Have our tour guide was great, he provided so much great information and the neighborhood we walked through were amazing. I would recommend this tour to everyone that comes to Louisville.

Yelp
A group of friend and I decided to try the Old Louisville Ghost Tour through Louisville Historic Tour and had a great time! The tour took place in what is known as one of the most haunted neighborhoods in America. It was very easy to find the meeting spot and checkin. Our tour guide was very engaging and clearly knew the history of all of the stops along the tour. She told plenty of spooky stories and answered any questions. The tour took just over an hour and a half. We walked around the neighborhood and saw 10+ haunted houses along the way. There were plenty of breaks along the way as we stopped to discuss the history, so even though it ended up being a longer walk, everyone was able to complete it easily. We had a great time and would definitely be interested in doing another tour through Louisville Historic Tours!

Amanda M.

Yelp
My husband and I had a great time on our walking tour. We had beautiful weather, and our tour guide, Quentin, was very knowledgeable, entertaining, and enthusiastic about the sordid history of Louisville. We enjoyed the dark and light hearted tales. The microphone worked well so we could all hear well. And I appreciated the time he took to answer questions between stops, adding more insight and understanding. The website recommended parking as well as area restaurants and lodging. We took the advice and stayed at the DuPont bed and breakfasts, which added to our spooky date night theme. We would recommend this unique learning experience that offered a dark look into Louisville history.

Kevin F.

Yelp
Angelique was wonderful, great stories and history! Enjoyed the tour. Had my own experience in Louisville back in the 80's staying at a friend's house! Really enjoyed seeing the Pink House and the Murder House.. Thank you, Angelique!!!

Tom Y.

Yelp
Outstanding tour! Thanks, Angelique! Incredible depth of knowledge about the neighborhood and its history. Beautiful area of Louisville to visit too.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Our tour guide was Brenda. While she was clearly knowledgeable, the tour was more historical and not the least bit spooky. Stories were presented in a very matter of fact matter, with no theatricality.

Laura D.

Yelp
Wonderful tour of Old Louisville. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the architecture and the stories behind these old homes. A lovely area to walk. A great time to learn the history of Louisville.

The H.

Yelp
Such an interesting neighborhood. Stay in a B&B, take a ghost walk tour. Such a haunted place! Shakespeare in the Park. Old Louisville Tavern is worth stopping in at.

Yelp
Loved this walking tour of old Louisville. Visited historic and haunted sites with personal and anecdotes from guide David Domine.

Yelp
We took the house tour with Gabe. We went through about six neighborhoods, sauntering at an easy pace. He answered our questions and was friendly and informative. He shared stories about the house Tom Cruise grew up in, showed us the different types of tobacco which decorated the tobacco baron's house, showed us a pink house which may have earlier had ladies of the evening but ladies from the temperance movement took it over with Woman Power. A perfect introduction to the 1800s and early 1900s architecture in Louisville. Note: The 90 minute tour took about 2 hours so plan accordingly.

Preston W.

Yelp
Gabe was a fantastic tour guide! He was knowledgeable and entertaining! The architecture was impressive, and the history came alive. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
We did this tour with Susan. Very easy to get a Lyft to and from our downtown hotel. She was a hoot and we were fortunate enough on a Wednesday morning tour to be the only two people. She was able to take a few phone pictures for us. Lots of history and her personal story telling of her haunted house in the area. One of the home owners was talking a walk and we even talked with her for a couple minutes. If you like to see old homes and the history (look up witches tree) it's a fun tour.
google avatar

Yelp
A+ tour. David's tour was just fantastic. A nice casual stroll probably just over a mile with lots of interesting history, and beautiful houses and neighborhoods. David knows a great deal about the history and area. He gave us a nice didactic style talk mixed with great convo answering our questions. We were just in town for a few days so a quick (was about 90 minutes) tour was perfect and helped us get a feel for Louisville. We did have our 7 year old daughter with, and although she isn't big on architecture it totally still worked to have her with. Booked from the website, easy and straightforward and a great value. He was very available for questions via text for phone. Highly recommended.

Yelp
I did the haunted history tour and LOVED it. Well behaved dogs are allowed on the tour and our group was small so I brought my dog along...which was a godsend as we were on a road trip and she had been stuffed in the car all day. The houses were gorgeous and David was a fascinating story teller. I appreciated that he was dressed like a normal person rather than in some type of cloak. The confirmation email was very informative and I knew exactly where to meet. Overall this tour was a great value and a great way to learn some of Louisville's history. I highly recommend this tour!

Sue K.

Yelp
Great walk with Liam through Old Louisville. Entertaining and informative. Liam had a good speaking style, projecting well to the group. Lots of fun.

Yelp
Fabulous tour. The actors are so fantastic. Well thought out great walking pace great stories. I loved it.

Kyle E.

Yelp
Fantastic tour by the amazing David Domine! He has such passion for these beautiful pieces of architecture. The ghost stories were amazing as were the details of the area. Exercise while looking at amazing buildings and learning about Old Louisville. Great experience.

Targa N.

Yelp
Our guide Liam was funny, knowledgeable and entertaining...made the 90 minutes fly by.

Yelp
I was invited by a group to join them on a haunted tour of Old Louisville. I had attended a special event sort of like that once that wasn't great, so I was hesitant. But our group was large enough to get a small discount, so I was swayed. We needed cash to hand over when our tour began, so be advised. And exact bills were appreciated. We met at a closed coffee shop just up from Central Park and waited about 10-ish minutes for everyone to show up. We got the run down of the night, and got ready to do our broad loop of the area around Central Park. Part way through, we stopped to pee in the park, but that might be because we were asking a lot of questions and extending the tour time. Also, it was just before St James Art Show, so there were plenty of port-a-potties to be found...the park potties were definitely locked. So...probably best to pee beforehand. David D is a fountain of knowledge and spooky stories from Old Louisville, having literally written the books on it and being a former resident of our first haunted stop on the tour. Super informative, the right level of spooky, and a surprise stop at the Witches Tree...It was an amazing way to spend an early fall night with friends. If you are into spooky history, I would certainly recommend a walking tour with David and Louisville Historic Tours.

Yelp
Great tour. Came from California for a conference. Saw beautiful homes and what might be ghost.:) highly recommend!

Andrea B.

Yelp
We had an AMAZING experience on the Glitter Ball Tour tonight !!! David is extraordinarily knowledgeable about Old Louisville and was just really fun to hang out with ! We loved the check in at Birdie and VI's -such a cool and eclectic experience and a great way to start off the tour with a tasty beverage from a huge selection of beers and ciders. We highly recommend this tour for both locals and visitors to Louisville !!!

Sean S.

Yelp
Amazing tour by David Domine! I went last year and the year before that for the Ghost Tour and the Victorian ghost walk. Both are fantastic productions. David is a wealth of knowledge and the tour is super interesting. It's a great way to change up a date night and do something different. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Sofia A.

Yelp
The sister and I were on a business trip in Louisville. We heard the East Coast has a lot of history, so we decided to take a tour of Old Louisville. It's $20 per person for a 90 minute walking tour (good exercise). Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. We saw tons of old houses, big and small, from Victorian style to Romanesque. The neighborhood is very well preserved; there's so much greenery everywhere. You can smell magnolias in the neighborhood known as "Millionaire's Row". We highly recommend this tour, especially if you're from the West Coast and don't get to see this much history often.
google avatar

Rebecca E.

Yelp
Excellent tour! Guides are very knowledgeable and have a genuine love of the city to share. Local history and lore are well-researched and even give locals a new love of the city by telling us new things we never imagined and showing off the real gems of the community. Guides are also very personable.
google avatar

Tanya P.

Yelp
My GFs and I love David D and the wonderful tours he sets up. We took the haunted walking tour and were able to go inside several of the beautiful downtown homes. Everyone is so kind and informative and the close up view of the homes at night is simply amazing. I live in the area and love the opportunity to see inside the houses like music to my soul. The cost is not high and the walk is at an easy pace. Locals and visitors alike will have a great time.
google avatar

Holiday M.

Yelp
By far the best walking tour I've taken. Captivating stories, rich history, spooky tales, my group was very impressed, and that is not the easiest task when your group happens to be 4 teenage girls! Nary a phone screen was attended (yay real life!... er... ghost life?) David Domine is a treasure to his community.
google avatar

Carley S.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful. We were only here for a day, their time slots were booked by a field trip, but DAVID SAVED THE DAY! He came early, created a new time for our tour and took me and my friend on a tour. IN THE SAME DAY AS WE CALLED. He was wonderful, knowledgeable, and the epitome of customer service. The tour was so beautiful and perfectly paced. You have to take this tour with David!

Nathan D.

Yelp
David really made the history of Old Louisville come to life and his knowledge of the area, its history and legends is excellent. The tour was very engaging and I highly recommend!
google avatar

Allison L.

Yelp
My husband and I went on the Grand Walking Tour and had a nice time. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and had some great stories about the beautiful mansions we saw. I guess he used to work in the beautiful Conrad-Caldwell House Museum, so he brought us in and showed us around a little. The 2 hour tour encompassed an absolutely gorgeous neighborhood filled with stunning architecture that we would not have seen if not on the tour. I thought the $15 pp we payed was a little steep but didn't regret paying it. There is a bathroom at the center. They accept credit cards. Bring your own water. The lady we checked in with almost seemed surprised that she had customers. But that might have to do with the fact that it's kind of a chore actually finding tour info- when I googled it, it led me to a self-guided tour website, which I then had to click around to about 3 other links to find the tour information. Also, they recently moved, so the bottom of the website says the tours leave from 2 different locations. The 4th street address is correct.
google avatar

Erin K.

Yelp
David is very well informed on the history of old Louisville, a great story teller, and everything was very well organized.
google avatar

Katie R.

Yelp
I cannot say enough about Louisville Historic Tours. I am here on business and my colleagues don't join me until tomorrow, so I decided to venture out and see the city with who turned out to be a delightful tour guide, published author, food writer and professor at the local university. The tour was thoughtful but not slow, exciting but not rushed, and David was able to answer all my questions and then some. You don't want to miss this one. Makes me want to relocate and buy one of these Victorian beauties for myself.

Katie S.

Yelp
We took the ghost tour. David the guide was very knowledgeable and a great story teller. He was willing to answer questions and listen to guest. The historic home are beautiful.
google avatar

Marti A.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed this experience! The Homes were beautiful. The walk was pleasant. Our guide's superlative knowledge was the icing on the top! I would recommend this tour to locals and visitors alike!

Nancy D.

Yelp
My cousin and I went on this walking tour on Sunday and truly enjoyed every minute of it. Though not a native of Louisville, our guide Bill was thoroughly familiar with the houses and churches in the historic section of the city. He shared with us about the original owners of many of the mansions and about the unique architectural details of these homes (such as the fleurs de lis and the large windows). We also learned from Bill about St. James Court, Central Park, and the Conrad-Caldwell Museum and the early history of that part of the city which was home to the movers and shakers of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Bill interspersed the information with intriguing stories about ghosts who were thought by many residents to inhabit some of these buildings. Highly recommended for learning about the history of Louisville and getting a little exercise at the same time.

Michele Z.

Yelp
Excellent! The tour guide is thoroughly knowledgable and provides an entertaining overview of Old Louisville's history, architecture, and ghostly lore. A must for visitors and residents!
google avatar

Laura H.

Yelp
I went on the evening Ghost Tour with David Domine. The stories were so interesting that as you were standing in front of the houses, you could imagine you were there when history happened. The Old Louisville area has so much history and architecture to be explored. The tour is a great way to see the neighborhood. I would do the tour again.

Scott G.

Yelp
Great tour and very interesting history! Dave is a great tour guide and a great story teller. Perfect hour and a half walking tour and great opportunity to see some absolutely beautiful homes in historic old Louisville!
