I discovered LouLou on the final day of my trip to Paris, and I wish I had discovered it sooner! Pretty much the entire menu can be made gluten-free, and I was spoilt for choice; if I had stayed longer, I would have liked to return to try many dishes. In the end, I went for the fish and chips. The location is a short walk away from Notre Dame and Pantheon with Metro access nearby, but it is worth making a special trip to visit, especially if you are gluten-free.
The food was really good, it was super tasty and fresh, the batter was crispy, and the fish was of very good quality. The salad was good, especially with the dressing, and I also liked the pureed peas too which elevated the dish. Portion size was slightly small, especially for the price, but I did enjoy my food. I did find this place to be a little pricey, with my food coming to €30, there was also a small fee for paying via the QR code, so I opted to pay with a waitress instead.
For my drink, I went for the orange iced tea. I wasn’t a huge fan of this as it was slightly bitter, but again, it was fresh, and garnished with a generous chunk of lemon.
The staff were friendly, although I would have liked them to repeat gluten-free back to me so I felt more confident and relaxed eating here. The overall ambience was pretty comfortable and relaxed; it felt like a casual vibe yet with high-quality food.
