Not a fan of this spot. The bar area has a dj who plays good but very loud music so you have to scream to talk to anyone. There is not enough space to dance so you may want to consider lowering the volume of the music so patrons can talk to each other without having to scream. There is a hookah lounge upstairs. I didn't hear any music up there. The drinks were overpriced. The bartender barely fills the cups as you can see in the photo.

Google
Go to place for Girl's Night Happy Hour! DJ is on point, the $5 Rum Punch packs a mean punch.

Came here on a Tuesday night I believe for their Karaoke night. This took place upstairs and it was a really cozy, intimate environment. Great crowd...great drinks...great song selections (for Hip Hop, Pop and R&B fans). Just wish this place was at least 2 times bigger.

Kable C.

Google
Every time I go here it is always Karaoke and I love every moment of it. I wish they could expand in size, but it is definitely one of the hottest spots for a good time and good drinks! The music be the best!

My fiancé and I stumbled on this spot randomly on a Tuesday night. We heard old school/R&B playing in the background. Come to find out it was Karaoke night. This place was delightful. I appreciate the sweet and friendly bartender, the female manager was very accommodating, and the guy who set us up with the hookah was hella nice. Inside is the main bar, upstairs was low key, but we ended up going outside. They have outside seating that is covered, provided with, tables, chairs, heat lamps. It's tight, but comfortable. That's where they had the Karaoke in this long "shed" I guess you could call it in front of the building next to the sidewalk. We just drank shots and drank beer. Lol we didnt eat, so i'm not sure if they serve food outside. We came to "sing". Overall, we had a blast. The music was dope, service was great. Good vibes. I really can't say this enough---> the staff working on 1/25/22 made the experience a great one and we'll be back.

Google
Lounge of 3 is a hip hop/old school music lover's dream. The drinks are great, the music is great and you will dance until your feet hurt! If you are looking for an unpretentious, relaxed place to hear old school hip hop, r&b and dancehall... Look no further!

Alania P.

Google
My favorite place to frequent in the city. Relaxed environment, great prices, excellent music and one of the few black establishments still in the city! Takes me back to the days when U Street was the place for blacks to enjoy themselves before gentrification. Support Black Business!

Google
Music is on point!!! Drinks are reasonable, crowd is a mix of everything, come as you are, no cover. Did I mention the MUSIC IS ON POINT! If you want the fake club scene go to Park , Lux, or Bar 7. You wanna hear real hip-hop and old school R&B, come here.
google avatar

Toya J.

Yelp
Newly renovated still has some of the best DJ's if you love 90's Hip Hop R&B. Nothing but good things. $5 beers and pure souls, so glad this place survived the pandemic. It's just a cool place to be when you don't want to fight a crowd and actually wanna jam to the music and talk at the same time.

Yelp
First time here and wouldn't be the last time I can definitely say! As usual many of the spots out in DC are very small, but the atmosphere in these spots are always fun and jumping even during this COVID restrictions. There was some issues that I had to just give them 3-stars. The menu for happy hour and I believe the entire night was lacking. Not much variety and you got charged extra for sides (i.e. fries). So they need to upgrade or at least add more to the menu. The bathroom situation was kind of upsetting. Only one bathroom at that time for everybody (male & female) just because they couldn't open the top level due to again...Covid restrictions... But I was told that they will open up the top level and they will hopefully get to stay open later than 10pm starting this past Monday. Because it was not much options open after 10pm. The drinks were good, DJ had the party going, the cooks, and the host who was the only waitress at that time were very friendly and attention. For a spring day it was really cold but got heated after we started drinking and dancing! I will definitely be back downtown when they can stay open after 10! Lol

Yelp
This place has become absolute trash evet since Simon sold it during covid. The last time I visited, I wasn't in the club for more than 2 minutes before a bartender was harassing me to buy a drink or get out. Ummm, I literally just walked in, can you relax? Haven't been back since. Terrible customer service.
google avatar

Yelp
I deducted a star because it wasn't open upstairs! Other than that, it's a cool place and music is always good. The bartender on Wednesday nights is very handsome and very nice. It's always solid when I go !

Yelp
I've walked by this place many times, but I have never stopped in! What a mistake that was. All of my friends from college were in town, so I decided to have us meet here for a happy hour. It is one of those places that doesn't open until happy hour starts... the times posted on here and on Google are misleading. Google says it opens at 4:00, and Yelp says it opens at 4:30. I was in the area at 4:30, and it definitely didn't open until 5:00. The week before, I called at 4:45 to ask some questions and they were open... so there seems to be some variability there. Anyways, we went in, and we were the first customers! The bar is somewhat small... has around 10-12 seats. There is also a lounge on the second floor, but the bartender wasn't there yet, so it wasn't open. There isn't too much decor to make it stand out, just a few pictures and a sign that hypes the music. That sign is VERY accurate. They play some amazing old school jams in all genres, especially hip-hop. They play new stuff too. Occasionally, though, the music was much louder than it needed to be. But if it got loud the bartender turned it down. It really didn't need to be loud in such a small environment. We all ordered the rum punch first. It's said to be the most popular happy hour drink (which goes until 8, and they have specials after 8 too!), and my MY is it heavy-handed! You see how much liquor goes into them, but they still taste really really good. I tried a margarita too... equal strength. I definitely appreciate the drinks at this place. As for the food, I ordered chicken tenders for myself and got to try others' buffalo wings and fries. All delicious! Usually when you order stuff like this, you only get one ramekin of your sauce, but this place gives two. I never began to run out. WIN! Later on, we went upstairs once it opened. There is a LOT of lounge space and a big dance floor. We claimed a couch and some chairs and were able to just chill for a while. Definitely enjoyed ourselves. All in all, we had a great experience. The bartender was really friendly and had good conversation with us. I am definitely looking forward to returning here. I can see it getting super tight at peak times... I hope I don't accidentally come at that time. Make sure you don't come early, because they may not be open.

Yelp
I can only speak as an out-of-town visitor, but so far this place has never let me down. This place can't ever disappoint cause it's the dopest karaoke spot there is when you wanna get that song and groove that really speaks to you. This spot PLAYS THE JAMS. Leave today's radio nonsense at the doors and give me the real stuff! And the crowd is supportive of whatever you wanna sing. Sing, my friend, sing! It's divey for sure, and not much room to move around. And those drinks can pack a serious punch that'll make you question your weekday evening choices... But nonetheless, it's a U Street mainstay that's a solid option to get the night started or cap the night off. The love for all peoples is strong here, and what more can you ask for than a bar full of love?!

Yelp
SO. MUCH. FUN!!!! On a quick weekend trip with my girls we stopped into this tiny bar with GIANT energy and had a blast! There was a female DJ there who was amazing!!! She was jamming from start to finish and we just danced and danced! The drinks were well-priced and the bartender was on point as well. If you are ever in DC, this is a place to definitely stop by and spend a few hours enjoying the great drinks and great vibes!

Yelp
This place never disappoints. Great DJ, great vibes, great people and great fun! This can be your typical hang out spot any day of the week. With 2 floors of fun you will surely have an awesome time in this place. I find myself landing here after every hair appointment I have especially during the evening hours. Jerri and Simon are some of the best bar staff I have come in contact with in a long time and I consider them family! Always greeted with a warm hello, top notch service with no issues will especially keep me coming back time and time again. One would consider me a regular, but it's just another dope atmosphere with pretty dope people. I love a good price point and happy hour deals. If you are ever in the U Street area, stop by!

Yelp
Visited here recently with my husband and family. Lounge of Three is a two story chill spot. The bottom floor features the main entry and a bar that runs the length of the building. During prime time, bodies are scaling the wall and occupying the seats which leaves a narrow pathway for patrons to walk through, single file, toward the stairs which lead to the second floor. The second floor has a much more promising layout. There's a bar and several chairs and seating areas. Lounge of Three is truly a lounge. You'll find a mix of people here, some sitting, some dancing and most drinking. During our time there, the DJ played top hip hop hits and quite a bit old school hip hop too. The atmosphere is pretty casual and easy going. Would love to visit again.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years, and I swear I've written a review about this spot before. Yelp says otherwise, so here we go! Lo3 is a the epitome of a chill-spot. I've had countless head nodding, finger snapping, booty shaking good times in here. The music is ALWAYS amazing. Hip Hop, R&B, and sometimes a little bit of ol' school classic soul thrown in for good measure (none of that trap garbage though. I hope it stays that way, too). Seriously... where do they find these phenomenal DJs?!? One of them did an unforgettable mix of Aretha Franklin and Jay-Z all night! What the...?!? This is not a very large space, and on weekends, it can get pretty packed. It's more comfortable during the week if you're really funny about your personal space (like me), but it's a great place to kick it with friends, watch the game, grab some good eats, and just chill. The drinks are strong, the bartenders are cool as hell, and the food is very good. Try the catfish nuggets. They're my fave! The crowd is cool: late 20-somethings to 40-somethings. Really mellow vibe in here: everyone sipping their drinks, enjoying the music, and just chillin.... having a good time, whatever that means to them. It's not a place where I've ever felt like I've had to been leery of lecherous creepers trying to push up on me, or constantly be wary of a fight (or worse) poppin off. There's no need to drive here: 1.) because parking in the area absolutely sucks and 2.) the U st. Cardozo Metro station is directly across the street (exit on the 10th street side). I've noticed that often a manager/owner will pop up every now and again just to check on things and make sure everyone is having a good time, which I really appreciate. On my last visit, my friends and I came in carrying leftovers from a soul food spot down the street. Security told us that we had to put our food on the window sill by the DJ booth. Wait... I gotta put my food practically on the floor by somebody's dirty sneakers? I wasn't too thrilled about that. Fortunately, the manager was walking by as he was telling us this, and he (the manager) told the bouncer not to worry about it and let us keep our food with us. Definitely appreciated that... It's been a long time, Lo3. Now that I'm back in the city, I'm going to make it a point to reconnect with my old hang out spot.

Yelp
This place is so cute! A coworker and I were scouting places in the district to go to happy hour and we stumbled across this place. We were excited upon arrival to discover that we could sit outside and order hookah to accompany our drinks. We were even happier to discover that Tuesdays are karaoke night! That was sooo fun! Everyone there was so kind and encouraging. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for a good time.

Yelp
I've been to Lounge of Three a couple of times recently. I've walked past it for years and never knew that there was a spacious second level. The crowded downstairs always kept me from going in and checking it out. Depending on the night and time you go there's a different vibe and different amount of people. I definitely prefer the spacious upstairs with the couches than being cramped downstairs. I ordered the catfish nuggets and they were soooo good. The only thing I don't like about the place is that it's so crowded and cramped downstairs with hardly any space to move about and the upstairs bartender gave me hard time about not wanting too much ice in my drink (I'm not an ice fan). Lol it was really pointless and stupid I'll probably never just up and decide to go, but it's definitely a good meetup spot with a friend or two for a quick drink and bite to eat.

Yelp
Music is what made me come in......this place is more of a time machine when it comes to hip hop and I'm all good with that....it was only about 8ish when we arrived but the place was already turned up lol. Old people party fast and are in bed by 11pm...happy hour on the weekends is hard to find in DC so feel free to order a $5 margaritas....not the best but for $5 you can't complain....I write all this as the guy next to me songs montel Jordan to the top of his lungs as his girlfriend proceeds to lean over in my section lol.

Yelp
Two, three years ago. This place would have gotten 5 stars from me. Now? Not so much. Used to be my husband and I's go to spot. Great Dj, good vibes and strong drinks. One of U Street's gems. I'm unsure what happened, but it's turned into just another bar on U street. $20 cover charge with 5 people inside. Walked right back out and was rudely told we wouldn't get our cover charge back as "it doesn't work like that here." I blame myself for trying again, as we had a similar negative experience when we came here for my bday last year. (Was SUPER disappointed) But again, this place used to be one of my fav spots. (We live in Baltimore now and looked forward to coming back to our turn up spot, huge disappointment) Dunno if there's new management or what-- but we want the original lounge of three back! ‍

Yelp
Aside from fighting, getting teen pregnant, and smoking, all we had to do for fun growing up in upstate New York, was memorizing Wu-Tang lyrics. There's NOTHING that makes me happier than hearing obscure tracks from Raekwon, Ghostface, GZA, Method Man, and yes, even Cappadonna. One of my favorite dates ever, was listening to Only Built 4 Cuban Linx in some dude's car, because he was similarly attuned to the allusions - it was exciting to be around someone who appreciated such an important part of my identity. I had a Wu-Tang Forever silver chain that I used to wear (rarely) to bougie black events, as a reminder to the elitists, that there are black intellectuals from all classes. Anyways, so Lounge of Three gained a place in my heart when the DJ played, "It's Yourz" from Wu-Tang Forever, and many other songs that I haven't heard in a long time. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I went to the Lounge of Three of few weeks back to enjoy a happy hour with some friends. We tried to enter right when they opened (which was 4:30 from what we saw online) but the staff inside was still setting up at that time. A few minutes after 5pm, the doors opened up and we strolled in. Being the first guests--the bartender needed a few more minutes to get set up, then promptly greeted and served us. On the first floor, there are only bar stools available -- so we each grabbed a stool and order a round of rum punches. These drinks were strong....very strong...but really tasty! Can't beat a strong, delicious drink for only $5. The bartender was very friendly and welcoming, made some nice bar top conversation. We ordered a variety of food items from their happy hour menu: the buffalo wings, chicken tenders, fries, and chicken sandwiches. Everything came out piping hot and it was good! We were all definitely pleased with our food. On the first floor they have a DJ who plays a variety of hip hop and pop music. He played a great mix of old school and today's top 40 jams -- definitely created a fun happy hour environment. My friend requested a song at one point, and the DJ worked the request into his set, cool! At some points, it was difficult to have conversation at the bar because the music was very loud. I don't think it would hurt the vibe to turn it down a bit. Once the upstairs level was opened up, we made our way to the second floor. There is a nice sized lounge, a second smaller bar and a small dance floor on the next level. We grabbed a big sectional couch and some chairs and enjoyed the environment and our remaining drinks. I was glad that a friend recommended we try this place out, it was a great find. If you decide to stop through, I recommend going on the earlier side to ensure you have a spot to sit and relax.

Yelp
I'm from New Jersey, an Came into town for the Redskins vs cowgirls game & needed a place to unwind the day before the game, so after NUMEROUS & I do mean NUMEROUS searches, we finally came across this place... No dress code, nice & friendly , only down side was they didn't sell food, but bartender said it was a popular soul food place two doors down, An they food was EXCELLENT, bartender allowed us to eat at bar!!! It's a small but cozy place, music was EXCELLENT, played a lot of ole school jams , mind you this was a woman DJ, she was sooooooooo good, I had to tell the bartender to send her a round on me!!!! When I come back into town, I'll DEFINITELY return to this place, VERY VERY NICE ESTABLISHMENT... GO REDSKINS

Yelp
Small and intimate, but I like that about L.O.T. It's like walking into a 90's hip hop and r&b house party, stepping into the decade. A refreshing change, really, and gives a uniqueness to the place. There's no cover to get in, the dress is casual, and the music is always going. I haven't had the opportunity to eat here, but I've had a drink or two. The bartenders and bouncers have been great. I usually go straight upstairs to where people can sit or dance. The crowd is older, more relaxed and ready for a great time belting out their favorite jams.

Yelp
This bar was a great Experience!! I had a chance to meet the owner and everything was genuine, clean, and great service. I purchased food from a few doors up and had a chance to sit outside and eat, relax and enjoy my hookah. I highly recommend this spot

Yelp
I was never that good at playing the game Operation when I was younger. Just when I thought I had that wish bone on lock, the painful, gut wrenching buzz would aggressively taunt me, reminding me that I suck. Fast forward 20 years later and I am faced with this challenge in a bar. A dim lit bar. A dim lit bar with some kind of SoCo and lime type concoction in my hand that Ive been nursing all night. The challenges of Operation are only magnified in this environment, so I didn't even bother to test myself. Kind of random though isn't it? That's okay. So is Lounge of Three. Located on the relatively drab intersection of U and 10th Street, I could have easily walked by this place and never really noticed. Luckily, a special someone was hip to the streets and decided to throw her birthday party there. While the space isn't huge, there are two floors. The first floor is a bit narrow with the bar dominating the majority of the space. The upper level has some lounge space, a big screen television and a back bar. The food I tried was pretty average bar food. I tried the fried catfish nuggets with sweet potato fries. I liked that the kitchen was open so late, but maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. Don't get me wrong, it was pretty good, just not quite great. The music was on point though. Lots of mellow hip hop and reggae, although no one was really dancing per say. Lounge of Three is one of those places that is a great discovery. I've lived in the DC area for most of my life and no matter how well I think I know the area, I'm still consistently getting put on to cool new places. Lounge of Three is one of those cool places.

Yelp
Dope music, great food, and affordable drinks. Love it. The fries and chicken wings are amazing and the owner is a super nice guy. Just visiting and would love to come back when I'm in DC again. I love the atmosphere.

Yelp
It's a little hole in the wall bar. The music is the best part about the place but at the same time I couldn't hold a conversation because it was so loud. The outside is definitely an after thought and thrown together. They had box fans outside and I got a dozen mosquitoe bites. Just felt really hood. I was starving when the waitress told me they ONLY had chicken tenders or chicken wings. She said I could buy something somewhere else and bring it back lol. If I'm walking by I might stop in. Definitely wouldn't make an effort again.

Yelp
How do you review something when you barely remember that you were there? Bwahhahaha! Like this! Alright, this place is located on the U Street Corridor, accessible to metro and what not. Small row home conversion, no cover upon entry (score)! Upstairs, strobe lights, and pretty decent music. Extremely small floor for dancing, gets crowded easily. It was fair to middling in this place for me. I need room! Personal space indeed. Three feet three feet!!!!
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Lounge of Three is a cool little spot right on U Street. The place is not very big even though it is two levels. The area is very narrow especially downstairs with the bar area taking up the majority of the space. The upstairs provides a little more room for moving about and possibly dancing. The happy hour deal are top notch, the rum punch was strong and cheap and the rail drinks are also inexpensive even the higher end drinks are reasonably priced especially for the area. Music is probably the best thing going for Lounge of Three, great mix of old school hip hop and R and B, while I was there they played very few modern songs which is okay with me as modern music sucks. Going here was like a going back to my childhood and the dances of blacked out house parties. All in all a cool place to hit up happy hour and enjoy some tunes before moving on to greener pastures on U Street.

Yelp
Found this spot surfing online. This black owned business is located in a busy eclectic area with lots of local shops and eatery's nearby. The music was great and the atmosphere was very down home and friendly. I'm from a small country town and this reminded me of the local juke joint. The drinks were great also. I had an ol fashioned and my husband a Long Island Iced Tea. Dress is comfortable and casual. We ate wings and fries that were both over fried. The waitress said that's all they were serving, but still a great place overall. The upstairs was closed, which was disappointing but we sat outside in the patio area. I would definitely come again when I'm in DC.

Yelp
I stopped by Lounge of Three on Tuesday for the weekly karaoke night. It was my first time at the venue, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The place is narrow and small like most bar/lounges on U Street. There was one bartender working the second floor bar, so drink service was slow and food service was moving at a snail's pace. Happy hour was still in effect when I got there at 6pm, so I took advantage of the special pricing and got myself a drink. I have to admit I was turned off by the drinks being served in a plastic cup, but I let it slide. The karaoke festivities begun around 8pm. People began taking their turn at the mic, belting out their favorite tunes. There were some real singers in the building! Still other brave souls simply went up on the stage and had fun with their songs. One guy took us back to the nineties with LL Cool J's "Around The Way Girl" and another lady got all the ladies in the crowd singing along with her to SWV's "Weak". There were a lot of people in the room and it got quite hot up there despite cool air being pumped in every so often. All in all, I had a great time and will definitely be back.

Yelp
I have passed by/peeked in this establishment many times in the past (on weekends) but always thought "I'll pass". When I agreed to meet a friend here (on a weekday), I had no idea this is where I was meeting them since I didn't know the place by name. I suppose I could have complained or insisted that we move on to another location. As most have noted, the space is very small - but note that I speak for the lower level (bar area) as the upper level seemed to be 'closed'. It is probably best to venture in with a friend or two since it doesn't seem like the kind of bar where a solo social butterfly hang out and have fun. The DJ played a wonderful...wonderful...did I say wonderful? blend of music. For bar food, the garlic wine shrimp and broiled tilapia sandwich/pita were very good. One can't go wrong with a $2 margarita. In the end, I'm glad that we stayed and I would go again.

Yelp
This place is the size of my closet. Not much to it (on the first level, that is). Good crowd. Small tables. Loud (but not clear) tunes. If/when you find seat, stay put. Move your feet, lose your seat.

Yelp
Lounge of 3 is such a nice little spot! I came here for a birthday happy hour last weekend. When you first come in, there are 15-20 barstools around a bar. To access more seating, go upstairs. The seating upstairs features comfy couches, upholstered chairs, and a large booth in the back. It's very homey. It's also not huge, so come early! From what I observed (it was a Friday), people came early and stayed! The rum punch is amazing. The margaritas are amazing. These are $5 during happy hour (which runs until 8:00). Our food was delicious, we had wings, chicken tenders, fries (sweet potato, regular potato, or a mix!), and steak and cheese sandwiches. The ambiance is really what made me love this place. The lighting is low, with moving red and green lights in the space. The lighting, comfy seating, and the DJ's skillful mix of hip-hop, R&B, and top 40 hits that spanned decades beg you to come on in and relax for a while. Come early, and plan to stay. It's worth the trip.

Yelp
We decided to stroll around & ended up popping our head in. Nice little pub with a live DJ spinning old school, new school R&B & Rap. It's a tight in a good way space & we were able to grab seats at the bar. Had a few cocktails & ended up playing Blackjack. They had a game box in the corner of the bar, nice touch for the card/game players :-) A very nice mixed crowd & I enjoyed seeing that. It turned into standing room/ wall leaning only by 10, so noted for the round two visit. Another DJ got on the 1's & 2's & we played more cards & had a few more rounds & enjoyed the ambience of the cozy bar front.

Yelp
I came here with some friends and waited at the bar for 5 mins. After 5 mins of no service, I tried to go to the bathroom and one of the bartenders ( who ignored us) tried to stop me by saying "the bathroom is for customers only." I told her that my sister was going to order for me when a bartender came over and that was trying to use the bathroom. She said she didn't care and that I needed to order first, so I left. Again, this is after we waited at the bar for 5 mins. She was so rude and I was ready to spend money there. This place is terrible and I will never go there again.

Yelp
was really excited to support a black business in the area. sadly, i won't be coming back. the drinks were just OK and the prices were good but the service? trash. from the moment i entered i felt attitude from the hostess (ironic, right?) and although our waitress was good it really ruined the experience. we were waiting to be helped for thirty minutes to make happy hour prices. we placed an order at 7:59 and while this may have been a little late, the hostess argued with us when we asked the waitress if we could still get happy hour prices. the minute difference lost them a lifetime of service from me. not saying you shouldn't check this place out because your experience may be different than mine but as for me and my house? we shall NEVER return here. good luck with the bar.

Yelp
I went to Lounge of Three for happy hour after work on a Friday night. My friend and I went to chill and wait for a larger group to arrive. Set Up: The lounge is 2 levels and the lower level is a bit tight, it's where the bar is so that's to be expected. A simple "excuse me" gets you around that though :) The upper level could be described the same as the lower level BUT there are leather chairs and stools along with the bar that take it from cramped to cozy. Drinks/Happy hour: My group only had the white wine which was ok. I'm not really a wine chick but it was fine. They had some great drink and food specials. Lots of under $5 specials. The chicken tenders were on point. I'm as posh as they come but I can get down with some good chicken tenders :) I really enjoyed the scene. It was a nice spot of people just relaxing and having fun. Service was decent and pretty quick. The hip-hop was pure hip-hop (aka old school to some folks--and I'm mid 20s mind you) and I LOVE anywhere that's close to the metro. The U Street/Cardozo metro is right across the street (10th and U side). Literally. You can't miss it. From me 3 stars is GOOD (versus just being average). When I go again, I may do another review if my opinion changes. Nice U Street spot, I'd definitely go again...see you there!

Yelp
Went back to LO3 on a Wednesday night for a birthday get together. Arrived around 6:30pm and since the upstairs wasn't open, folks made room for me at the bar. There were a few people eating, but after they left, my party was the only one there. The DJ was playing some great hip hop, although it was a bit loud for such a small establishment. I ordered the shrimp quesadillas, and despite the bartender warning me that they would take a while because they were frozen (ummmm, ok), 45 mins later....they were delicious! Lucky for them (and me!) the food was better this time around :)

Yelp
The drinks are pretty good and so is the music. A lil mix of old school and new school made for a pretty nice atmosphere to unwind in on a Saturday night. Good crowd to walk into

Yelp
Cool spot that's a bit more subdued, but gets the right crowd. Great place if you want to have some nice drinks and just watch some spots with no frills. Also, the DJs here are quality. I highly recommend going Friday during happy hour and Sunday evening. If you like 70s to early 2000s music, you'll definitely take a nice trip to nostalgia. Overall, a nice place to catch a two-step and just relax a bit before your late evening shenanigans.

Yelp
The bartender looked gruff, the DJ looked gruff, the patrons looked gruff, the homegirl & I were tired of all the lame bars/clubs in the area and just wanted booze and good jams. The basics. No BS. That's what we got at this joint. They say the dive bar is dead in DC. I disagree.

Yelp
Old Head Central lol. That's the quickest way to describe Lounge of Three. So far I haven't found any cover on the the few nights I've stopped by, mostly during the week. They have some decent drink specials and every time I've stopped in they've got henny on special, not that I drink much cognac but if you're a henny fan maybe stop by for that. There isn't a whole lot of space on the first floor but the music is usually pretty good, a lot of hip hop. It might switch up to a younger crowd on the weekends but weekdays the old heads rule lol. Not a bad U street bar though.

Yelp
Cool little spot that plays 90's Hip Hop & R&B. The drinks are ok DEPENDING on the bartender. Darryl is The BEST bartender. Friday's are the best day. There's 2 floors but the 1st floor is usually pretty packed because it's so narrow. I do usually have a good time when I go though.

Yelp
Ghetto Dive (Positive Connotation) I think Ive found my two favorite kinds of places mixed into one. Lo3 Its ghetto, like the wing place in my old 'hood but its also divey like the hipster joints in Provy, RI. Its all that and a bag of chips without the "Sharkeisha" attitude. (Am I not PC for saying what everybody is thinking????) lol Cmon I know yall been to the wing place in your hood and gotten a lil Sharkeisha attitude with your wings and alize. ' Anyway back to this joint. So its a small bar with an upper and lower level. The drink specials were dabomb.com. 4 dollar rails, I believe and bites that were under 5. I'll be back. I was impressed with the dela decor ooo we we cherie amour, bring your amour here for a cozy intimate conversation on the upper level. Ill be back!

Yelp
The only issue with this place is space.. Other than that, I love the bartenders and the DJ is always on point.. I've at, drank, and relived bits of my youth here.. Definitely worth checking out.. An unsuspecting good-time could await you..

Yelp
I went here with friends during Howard homecoming. This place is the worst establishment in Washington DC. Please stay away at all costs. When we ordered food the manager said that our party overwhelmed their kitchen. Mind you, we ordered our food one day in advance. We waited 4 hours to be served and then we were met with bad attitudes by the manager and staff.

Yelp
Accidentally stumbled upon this place when looking for a place to drink with friends after Brunch. Lily, the owner and bartender recognized that we had a small group coming and was able to accommodate us extremely well. She opened up their upstairs area and let us take control of the music. The bar had a wide array of alcohol, from affordable whiskeys to top shelf tequilas. My group was expected to order food along with alcohol and the food was a great addition surprisingly. Our drink orders, although vast were delivered to us in the with great timeliness. We ordered hookah which was set up perfectly for our people to kickback and relax with, in their comfortable upstairs lounge. We lost the receipt after running up a tab, and Lilly was able to email the receipt the next day after I called, which was perfectly convenient. We will be back at this place for chill and relaxed nights in the district

Yelp
Three stars for Lo3. Personally not feelin' it. I think I'm being kinda generous despite our consensus of "one'n'done." I was sympathetic to Hannah's complaint that none of their drink menus had prices listed. I only gave a crap because of the $10 minimum for plastic. Draft beers in sizable mugs, but still marked up enough to raise an eyebrow. Dim local sports bar, intimate space, a few U St skirts pregaming at a table nearby. Three screens tuned to two channels. Tunes were chill, a little funky, and worthy of the headbanging warning sign. Projector screen got rolled up so the DJ could set up. I don't see myself dropping in again.

Yelp
New Spots on U st. come and go faster than the green line train to greenbelt. This spot seems to have the right spark to become a lasting fixture on the strip. It's for all intents a lounge as its name implies. I went after work on a wednesday night and it seems that the local afterwork crowd has taking a liking to it. the decor is welcoming, but kinda dark and classy. There is a bar upstairs and downstairs, they do have a pretty nice menu with appetizers and entrees. this is not a dive bar so you can take a few ppl here and have a decent amount of drinks without sticking to the swill on the bottom of the floor. It's a nice place with 2 levels which is a definite plus, but the place is small (prolly seats and holds like 70 ppl MAX.) There is a DJ on some nights that spins a nice mix of tunes from hip hop to r&b oldies. I liked the layout of it all, very cozy and low key and easy. It's a welcome addition to the u st corridor. lets treat it like a spring flower in bloom and let it grow!

Yelp
Lounge of Three, I went there on a Wednesday night and the vibe was smooth. But it was really the music that made the experience and was the icing on the cake. I didn't stay on the lower level for long due to the area not being spacious but I went to the second level with my friends; the girl bartender definitely was making the drinks right, even though they were in plastic cups lol $6!! But none the less, the scene was a mix of young and grown which was cool. Drama free so I can always dig a space where I can connect with others, listen to good tunes, and sip. I'll be visiting again for sure!
