Just got back from 8 nights here. The hotel was wonderful and you cannot ask for a better location. I was a bit dissapointed that the old LOVE bar/location has not recovered from the hurricane in 2017, as my wife and I had visited there in 2007 and it is what motivated us to return. Still, the new rooms were very nice and comfortable with excellent views/access of the beach and sunsets. Everything seemed as new and in fact the deck furniture was. Had everything you'd expect, except for a couple of minor things. An ice machine was nowhere to be found and therefore, no ice bucket either. I'm sure they are a hassle, but even the cheapest motel anywhere has one. I was left getting a bag of ice that leaked everywhere on the walk back to the room. It was of course too big for the mini fridge...hence the need for a bucket. Cedric was kind enough to find a large plastic vase for me to use, but hey...it's vacation. Chilled drinks/bottles are to be expected. There are no beach chairs, though that is not a big issue to me, more so to my wife. There are many beach clubs available a very short walk away. The bed was firm and very comfortable. A minor gripe...the mattress being firm and new, I could feel all of the raised areas of the mattress design. A soft mattress topper would go a long way to remove that very slight annoyance. The last issue was the lack of a TV. No, I didn't go to St. Martin to watch TV, but on any trip, we like to have a movie evening and just stay in bed all day once in a while. Any cheap motel anywhere has one and from what I could see, all the surrounding properties did as well. What did they do great? Everything else. Cedric arranged our 20th anniversary dinner at Le Cottage for us and ensured a very nice bottle of champagne was in our room for our arrival. He even provided a second wonderful bottle that my brother had called and ordered for us. Anything we needed he did his best to accomodate us. We met Selena a few times as well and she was a delight. Room was cleaned everyday. Coffee and the fixings, juices and pastries were refreshed daily. The juices were awesome BTW. LOVE is really in the greatest spot. It is a quick walk from the top floor to the beach, which we would do several times a day when sitting on the deck watching nothing in particular. The sand is powdery soft. The current/waves almost non-existant. The entry into the water was soft and sandy as well with no rocks or sharp/hard objects. We saw stingrays jump from the water. Everyday a fish would come up to my feet and look at them (maybe protecting his turf?), and a baby stingray swam around our feet one day. The weather and breeze were fantastic! Anything you want to eat or drink is literally steps away. The sunsets were spectacular. It was absolutely heaven. My few minor issues did not detract from my experience at all...just suggestions to up the experience a bit and put you on par with what you have to offer overall. I will and would return in a heartbeat and recommend LOVE to anyone.
