The Enchanted Cave | Best caves you can stay in

"Set into hills, surrounded by acres of wild bushland, you’ll find this one-bedroom, self-contained cave, cleverly carved into the natural contours of the local rock. There’s a modern kitchenette, fireplace and views out onto a forested valley. A true wild cave sleep experience, without sacrificing on home comforts. " - Matthew Roach

💡An undisturbed adult weekend away for two—surrounded by nature. Nailed it! We enjoyed our stay in both the Love Tee Pee and the Love Studio, which are exactly as they appear on the website. Both feature fireplaces, spa baths, and separate lounge, kitchen, and bedroom areas. They are designed with 90% window walls, offering breathtaking, sweeping views. (Though, I can't forget to mention the indoor drop toilets, which were not our favorite.) + The fireplace was roaring upon our arrival, which was a lovely, warm welcome on a chilly day. + We saw so many different bird species while relaxing and enjoying the view from the spa. + The surrounding town's felt 🏳️‍🌈 comfortable. - The Love Studio's fireplace was a little too small to adequately warm the space. - The spaces didn't feel entirely private when needed, as there were no curtains around the bathing areas. - It is a bit expensive for a single night's stay, especially when it is a two night minimum.

Had the most amazing stay at the love cabins recently, staying in the dream cabin which sleeps 4 people. Bed on the ground floor and bed on the mezzanine level. The views you wake up to are incredible, completely sprawled and uninterrupted! There is a private heated spa next to the cabin, you can open all the windows and feels like your outside right in nature. The cabin itself was comfy and clean and had all the amenities like a hot shower and local honey! Beds were comfy and we felt truly safe and secure (despite been in 600 acres of scared bushland). It was great that on arrival we were given clear instructions how to navigate around the property as it is super private, but if you need something the owners are nearby. We also did the glow worm tour which an absolute highlight! Would 100% recommend and plan to go back another time.

We had the great pleasure of staying at the Love Cabins for a dear friends wedding and we were absolutely delighted with our Teepee cabin. A gorgeous cabin complete with outdoor seating area and BBQ, kitchen, lounge area, toilet and gorgeous sunken bath looking out over beautiful bush land in complete privacy. Sitting in that for a couple of hours was a truly peaceful experience. You enter into the teepee bedroom from the cabin itself and it’s another delightful dimension. Lovely light, comfy bed and wonderful to wake up in.in the morning. We would highly recommend staying here and intend to have many more visits ourselves. Perfect place to relax and leave a busy life aside for a few days and regenerate.

If you are looking for an amazing weekend away with your partner where you can disconnect from your everyday routine, relax and completely enjoy each others company this is the perfect place to do it!! We stayed in the love cabin and so much imagination has been put into this place this place which you just don’t find in a hotel room. The spa under the trees, the cozy fireplace, the comfortable bed and everything you need is there to complete your stay. We highly recommend and can’t wait to go back! Very unique and special experience! Thank you!

Stayed in the treehouse the last couple of days. Incredible place to stay; relaxing, beautiful views, simple, offline. Short drive to some incredible walks and swims (Wheeny Falls) and recommend Hillbilly Cider too down the road. Edit: we have also now stayed at the Love Cabin “Love Studio” which was just as delightful, although we didn’t get the memo about bringing towels! The tea towel got good use! Wonderful location, cannot recommend highly enough.

Booked for 2 nights and 3 days, was able to stay there for 40 minutes only. Bed should literally be burnt that’s how filthy it is. Chair, couch, cushions literally made me want to vomit. The “spa” was so dirty with hair. It was surreal that a “living” place like this exists in Australia, yet alone advertised as business. It was so so so bad and for $2000. I’m actually going to ask for you to be inspected. The existence of this is outrageous. In regards to food, you need to take your own because there is nothing close by but the problem is, you can’t use any of what’s available to cook because it is so filthy. The only way I could justify a place like this is if we were naked apes in a time before clothes were even a thing.

We stayed in the Love Studio over the weekend for our wedding anniversary and it was quite enjoyable bar a few things. Pros: We walked into the Love Studio and was mesmerised buy its unique beauty and that spa bath was great we used it so many times! Waking up in the morning to that amazing view looking over the mountains from your bed was unreal. I loved how the fire place kept the cabin so cozy it was a great weekend Cons: As we were pulling up to the Love Studio we noticed people inside and we were a little concerned, we then pulled up and out came Lionel and a couple that wanted to view the room which I thought was an odd thing to be doing when you had it booked out and it was 6.30pm so well past check in so they should have arranged to do that when the room was vacant. I totally understand it being in the bush but the webs throughout were as if they never get cleaned and wasn’t the best thing to look at when opening my eyes in the morning and seeing webs above me. I would recommend a better mattress as we left with sore backs to to it being so hard and uncomfortable. Overall we had an unforgettable weekend.

Fantastic place lives up to expectation. Drop toilet in the cave but i didn’t care i use them quite often and dont mind them. Waking up to a amazing view every morning was so worth it. My 2 night stay has helped calm and rejuvenate me so much.. shower, rooftop bath and spa exceeded my expectations. I could stay here forever if i could, this cave reminded me what home is for me! I felt safe here, i really will come back again. I miss it already , cant wait to experience the other great cabins especially the secret treehouse!!

Yelp
It's got potential . That is why it gets two stars. I feel misled. For the $372 AUD per night price tag (on par with a luxury resort), I feel the accommodation falls short and not worthy of such a steep price. When I booked the Wollemi Wilderness Cabin for a part of our Australian holiday, I was so excited! I couldn't wait to surprise and impress my husband with the coolest accommodation ever. This was going to be a great place for us to reconnect with one another however, it just didn't inspire romance for several reasons. WHAT I LIKED The view. The sound of the bush coming alive at night. The remote location. WHAT I DISLIKED The remote location. I know I said I liked it, but it was also a pain to get from the cabin to the main road. You drive on an unpaved road for several kilometers which is extremely narrow and treacherous to travel on in the dark, because, well, it's DARK. And there is a lot of wildlife. And big bugs. And did I mention the road is very narrow? If you do any sightseeing, you had better be back at the cabin before dark. The lack of comfort. How do you not have an air-conditioner for 41 Celsius temperatures during the summer??? That would have been GREAT information to know prior to booking the accommodation. The cabin was blazing hot when we arrived and remained weltering and uncomfortable for the two nights we were there. There wasn't even cold water in the refrigerator waiting for us. I sent the owner an email shortly after arriving to inquire on how we were supposed to cool the cabin down. The one floor fan in the bedroom was not going to cut it. He stopped by the cabin to offer his "suggestions" which was that 1) the weather should be cooling down soon and 2) he opened the sliding door and the front door to try to get a cross breeze. I pointed out that doing so was allowing insects inside the cabin as there are no screen doors on either one. He was quite dismissive saying they only come in with the light, meanwhile I'm watching all sorts of flying things come in. The result: There wasn't a cross breeze and it never cooled down to a comfortable temperature and we were miserable. Who wants to get it on when you are already a sweaty gross mess before the lovin' starts to happen? The lack of general maintenance and cleanliness of the cabin. The furniture was old and worn, the bookshelf with games and books was unkempt, the provided dishtowels had a gross, musty smell, the only toilet was a composting toilet complete with flying insects in the toilet and in the bathroom (this would have been important information to know upon booking), the screens on windows were not properly aligned (letting bugs in if you open the window) and the amount of spider/cob webs and live insects INSIDE the cabin (before he let MORE inside) indicated the interior floorboards, windows, ceilings of the cabin never get any type of cleaning attention (see photos). I understand we are in "the bush", however, I don't think any of those flying bugs paid any part of my accommodation cost, so I shouldn't have to share it with them. Finally, let's talk about the bed. We both tossed and turned all night as the mattress was very uncomfortable. The bed linens were old, scratchy and too heavy for the hot summer weather, let alone to create a romantic environment. They looked and felt like they were obtained at the Salvation Army. Moving on to dinnertime. As I prepared to grill some steak for dinner, I go out to the BBQ to warm it up and guess what? There is no propane! If you know you are having guests stay at your accommodation it should be fully stocked with everything they need. I ended up cooking the steaks on the stove (a heinous crime, I know). I missed out on the experience of having a glass or two of wine whilst grilling our ribeye steaks on the deck overlooking the bush and the gorgeous view. I get dinner ready and set the table only to notice there are no paper towels or napkins. How are you supposed to wipe your hands and face while eating your meal? For the price tag I expected this place to be spotless, comfortable, and immaculate. Instead it was like I was attending grade school summer camp. I was ready to pack up after the first night and find another accommodation except for the fact I paid so much for this place and most everything else was already sold out since it was the high season. The website describes the Love Cabins as a romantic Blue Mountains getaway and "stunning" with "new" interior design concepts. Only if they mean "stunning" in a bad way. I seriously hated every minute here and the ironic part is that this was the accommodation I was most excited about on our trip to Australia. I probably wouldn't be so bitter if I paid $79 AUD per night instead of $372 AUD. Maybe a visit in the winter would have been more inspiring. Probably not though.
