Navigate Duluth Dining for Grandma’s Weekend | Eater Twin Cities

"Now open at 1908 West Superior Street in Lincoln Park, Duluth’s first all-local, mostly organic ice cream shop sources local ingredients to churn into super small-batch flavors. Nicole Wilde started the creamery out of a shared commercial kitchen space in Superior and sold her inspired scoops at area farmers markets before opening the storefront; until the shop opened, people could only buy the small containers at a few area retailers or get it a la mode at local cafes. The creamery is part of a new development that includes neighboring Corktown Deli and Brews, tying it into the neighborhood’s burgeoning food scene." - Eater Staff

We waited in line for a while, but once we reached the counter, it was nice to see that they offered samples of their flavors. They don't have the usual options like plain strawberry, chocolate, or vanilla, but the flavors they do have are really tasty. I ordered two scoops of the apple crisp, and I have to admit we couldn't resist and started eating before snapping a picture. It was delicious, and we'll definitely be back the next time we're in town. The customer service was great too. There was a gal working there in a red shirt who wasn't even the one helping us, yet she still took the time to talk and ask where we were visiting from. I also really liked the décor; it added to the overall experience.

Google
Love Creamery is a must-visit for ice cream lovers. They have an incredible variety of unique flavors, the Goat Cheese Honeycomb is a standout, perfectly creamy with sweet crunch, and the Salted Chocolate Brownie is just as amazing. They also offer plenty of vegan ice cream options with vegan toppings, plus homemade waffle cones and even ice cream flights, which are a fun way to sample it all. The shop itself is bright, clean, and welcoming, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. A Duluth gem that combines creativity, quality, and great service.

Google
Flavors and textures. Can't complain. Salted caramel and dark chocolate would be my top 2 out of the 6 I had. Ordering the flight, i expected a sampler portion. And not a feast 😅. Also when they say you can sample to pick your flavors. They are not kidding. They will let you try them all if you must. (Be warned)🤣

Google
Stumbled upon this adorable new ice cream spot while walking around the neighborhood, and I’m so glad I did! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with big smiles and ice-cold water (a total lifesaver on a hot day). The place feels super clean, fresh, and welcoming — you can tell the team takes pride in their shop. They’ve got plenty of seating, both inside and out, which makes it a perfect little hangout spot. Great for dates, families, or just a solo treat-yourself moment. Now, the important part: the ice cream. Absolutely delicious — super creamy, not overly sweet, and you can taste the quality in every bite. We went with the coffee bean, vanilla and salted caramel — they were hits. Also… be warned (in a good way) — the portion sizes are HUGE. I couldn’t finish mine, and that never happens. Extra points for the vibe — music playing softly, cute decor, and just a warm, friendly atmosphere. Feels like the kind of place that will become a regular neighborhood favorite real soon. Highly recommend swinging by if you’re nearby!

Google
So insanely good - highly recommend getting a flight. Easy to share between two or three people. We got a flight with: * Salted Caramel (gf) and fall 2025 seasonal flavors: * London Fog (gf) * Chokeberry Chip (gf) * Cinnamon Snickerdoodle (gf) * Apple Crisp (gf) * Goatcheese Honeycomb (gf) Our favorite was the goat cheese honeycomb hands down (sweet but a lil savory) So insanely tasty! Second fav was London Fog which tasted JUST LIKE the drink! All the other flavors were good too, just hqrd to compete with how exceptional those two were. Staff were efficient and professional - line moves quicker than you’d think!

Google
A not-so-hidden gem! Quaint little shop in Canal Park with some of the best fresh made ice cream/ frozen desserts I've ever had. Everything is thoughtfully labeled as GF, vegan, etc so you can avoid allergens. The flavors appear to differ somewhat between Canal Park and Lincoln Park, so check their website before choosing a location to visit. Highly recommend the London Fog, the flavors are spot on, but you can find more traditional fare if you're not feeling adventurous.

Google
We visited Love Creamery during a recent trip to Duluth and were not disappointed! Unique flavors, delicious ice cream, and friendly staff. We have an adventurous eater and a pickier eater, and everyone was able to find something they liked. The shop was very busy even on a cool, brisk afternoon, but the line moved quickly. Wish we lived closer so we could try more of their interesting flavor offerings! We will definitely be back when we are in Duluth again!

Google
Very good, homemade, lots of flavors some are very unique but they always have vanilla and then like chocolate, strawberry, caramel type options for more picky people. It switches out so it’s not always the same flavors which is also fun! My favorite ones have been salted caramel, lucky charms and then fruit goat cheese or milk ones! Their waffle cones are also the best ever!!! They make them homemade and put chocolate at the bottom so the ice cream won’t leak and it’s very yummy. In my top 3 ice cream places in Duluth.

Yelp
TLDR: The gem of Duluth! We happened across Love Creamery after having dinner at a mediocre Italian restaurant. So glad we stopped by! Goat Cheese Honeycomb is absolutely the tits! Creamy, crunchy and rich. 100% would eat again. Also, the store is so cute!! And the staff are all friendly. I tried a couple other imaginative flavors before choosing my scoop and, honestly, it was one of the hardest decisions I've made all month. (I know, I'm sheltered.) DEFINITELY stop by if you're in the area! This may be the best ice cream in Minnesota.

Yelp
Wow, Great stuff here! There was a line out the door, and I was reluctant to wait because it's just ice cream right? I am glad I queued up. They put together some really incredible flavors...pairings I would never thought would play nice together. The cardamon goat cheese was surprisingly excellent. Not sure I could eat more than a scoop, but that was enjoyable. The strawberry basis was quite wonderfully too. I ended up getting a waffle cone with the salted honey peanut butter and jelly. I would have bought a number of quarts to take home with, but they would not have made the trip in this heat. I will certainly hit this place up again when I am in Duluth. Also...They do have vegan options.

Yelp
Strawberry, butter pecan, honeycomb goat cheese! All flavors were spot on! Perfect for hot humid day when you're in Duluth. They have two locations within two mile radius, of course this one near the lake and the tower bridge so it was perfect place to chill and cool down. Team members are friendly, but limited parking so plan ahead or park at a nearby lot and walk to here.

Yelp
Stopped here while visiting some family friends and touring Duluth. Was definitely impressed with this ice cream and get the hype around it. There is supposedly always a line, but it moves fairly fast and isn't a bad thing to be outside if it's a nice day. On a busy weekend, I wouldn't expect to be able to sit inside. It's more of a grab and go or find a place outside. There's limited indoor and outdoor seating at the shop. The inside walls are painted by a local artist and the ingredients are locally sourced. There's a decent variety of options for being such a small space. You can even get a sample platter if you're with a group and want to try a few different flavors. As a chocolate fan, I couldn't help but choose the dark chocolate ice cream. Definitely would get it again! It was fresh and good quality chocolate. I would recommend pairing it with the coffee ice cream, too. Overall, a great experience. A small comes with two scoops and it felt like plenty for me. There are changing menu items, so make sure to look online before you go.

Yelp
Stopped at this cute ice cream shop to try it out and it was a great time! The ice cream was delicious, the decor was fun, and service was friendly. We will definitely come again! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Love Creamery knows the way straight to a vegan's heart. I've been dairy free for over one year and ice cream without dairy is hard to get right. Of course you can get sorbet at most ice cream parlors but what I crave are those creamery scoops. I was excited to see vegan ice cream listed proudly on the sign of Love Creamery. I stopped by and tried their vegan chai ice cream and fell in love. We ended up buying two to go pints to bring to a graduation ice cream party so that our vegan and dairy free friends could join in on the fun. So glad we found this spot in Duluth and would recommend it if you are in town.

Yelp
How much do I love this place? First of all, GF and vegan options? Heck yes! Inventive flavors? Check! Excellent customer service? In spades. So adorable. Totally yummy. I'm 100% obsessed. And I highly recommend both the goat cheese and honey, and the lemon curd raspberry.

Yelp
Cute ice cream shop right in canal park. Satisfied our sweet tooth on a hot afternoon. They have classic flavors and unique flavors. I enjoyed an espresso with a scoop of ice cream.
google avatar

Anika J.

Yelp
After going here I knew I needed to leave a review. This place is so cute inside. With everything from the cutest tiny spoons to colorful outdoor patio. The flavors are unique and creative but they also have the classic flavors. Ice cream is pretty good. Some flavors were really sweet but at the end of the day it's ice cream. When I tell you I haven't interacted with a more friendly employee, I mean it. They were so accommodating and caring. Worth checking out for a sweet treat!

Yelp
Best Ice Cream in Minnesota hands down we absolutely love this place. The mural and decor is outstanding, the flavors compelling and the six scoop sampler is a must

David L.

Yelp
Ice cream was tasty. Very unusual flavors that aren't available anywhere else. Definitely good quality. Appreciated the ice cream flights available and would recommend that to everyone.

Yelp
What a great treat after breakfast. They are now on fall hours and open at noon, so we had an hour rest. I had a single milk chocolate cone. Just delicious. They even have chocolate flavor lip gloss. I even bought a pink t-shirt. A nice bathroom for customers. We ate on the patio cause it was cold inside with the AC. We'll always stop here before leaving Duluth and maybe some in between times. I love the location and that it's away from all the busyness.
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
The ice cream was delicious and the service was good. Be forewarned, it's expensive. Definitely a tourist trap.
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
Such a neat little place! The ice cream was spectacular. There was a line of about 10-12 people ahead of us but it did not take long. Seating is very limited inside, there are a few outdoor tables and some lovely benches out front. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Youssef A.

Yelp
6 out of 5 for the salted caramel ice cream 0 out of 5 for the waffle cone: three of us it, and they all agreed it has no taste and it's not even crunchy. How can you miss that!?!?!?!? At least get one of the two RIGHT! The chef should work on improving the waffle ASAP. Dog friendly place. Excellent location for tourists. Very polite staff.
google avatar

Christina E.

Yelp
There was only one gal working when we swung in today so I'm thankful there wasn't a line! It's a casual atmosphere with a couple tables inside and a larger patio for outdoor seating. The gal was attentive and friendly as we sampled multiple flavors. Both of us ended up with the Salted Caramel Crack Cookie flavor. It was top notch! I also thought the Goat Cheese Honeycomb was delightful and different. A small serving was definitely filling!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute ice cream place in Duluth. "Love" the name and the decor. Very unique flavors. I got the goat cheese rhubarb and the banana chip ones. Definitely liked them. But it's not in my top 5 of all time so I'm gonna say 4 star. Worth having if you are in Duluth for sure.

Yelp
I found out about this place when i was shopping in the building next to it. The staff at one of the shops was telling me that I should try the ice cream shop in the parking lot and that I should definitely try the coffee with ice cream. We ran down those steps to the ice cream shop and tried a bunch of stuff lol. My daughter had the fruity pebbles mix and my wife had the lavender ice cream. I of course had the coffee with Carmel ice cream in it. The staff here is very hardworking and friendly. I love this place and will be back asap!
google avatar

Caitlin P.

Yelp
Delish ice cream. Line was out the door earlier in the night. We stopped in after dinner for an affogato and a scoop. The gal at cheese ice cream with a double shoot was so refreshing Highly recommend this spot. I'm sure the staff was tired after a busy day, but they were extremely helpful, kind and patient! Thanks for a great experience all around!
google avatar

Tiffany A.

Yelp
Got a medium sized ice cream and split it with two flavors - honey lavender (delicious) and rhubarb crisp (good, interesting to not have it paired with strawberry). I liked the chalkboard they had to write down new flavor suggestions.
google avatar

Yelp
I LOVE Love Creamery :) Has to be my favorite ice cream shop of all time. Delicious ice cream flavors with many gluten free and or vegan options, and the cones are gluten free and vegan! The service is wonderful and they are very conscious and considerate of allergies and dietary needs. You can enjoy your treat in the shop or outside in the summertime! Make sure to get a punch card!
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
Stopped by here spontaneously after dinner and got a small scoop of the salted caramel. The ice cream was delicious and almost had like a stretchy consistency. The portions were also generous. I got the small cup and they filled it to brim and then add an additional scoop on top!
google avatar

Mason Y.

Yelp
Love love this ice cream shop! Pun intended. First of all they give generous tasting portions and seem to have varying flavors depending on the season. We tried 2 small sizes: salted caramel and peach sorbet. I loved the peach sorbet- it was as if they blended entire peaches and froze it, and then added very little in addition. It was very creamy despite being vegan! The salted caramel was delicious -- great after taste and very creamy. A tad too rich after eating half of the cup.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
This place was great! I loved all their vegan options . Their macadamia flavor was my favorite! The friends I went with had the diary options and they loved it as well! Decoration is so cute and fits the vibe of the place. They also sell really cute knickknacks!

Katie B.

Yelp
So many good options to get and the best part is you can try before you decide. Flavors change with seasons.

Kirk A.

Yelp
Very good ice cream! Just perfect! great service! Great location and neat! Recommend this place!
google avatar

Katie H.

Yelp
Best ice cream in Duluth! Super rich and creamy, lots of flavor options. There's usually a line out the door but it moves fast. Very cute interior.
google avatar

Emily A.

Yelp
My friend and I went while on a girl's trip, and got the flight. It was delicious and was a great serving size for two! Our favorite flavors were lavender honey and salted caramel. The interior was cute, and there was plenty of space to sit on a Wednesday afternoon. Finally, the service was speedy and super friendly! Highly recommend-- and try the flight!
google avatar

LaRae D.

Yelp
Great selection of unique flavors- an ice cream lover's dream! Add this to your Duluth itinerary!
google avatar

Andrécito C.

Yelp
Amazing. The flavors, went twice in one day. I have zero shame. Plus they have gluten free cones and vegan for those with allergies.
google avatar

Autumn P.

Yelp
One of the cutest ice cream shops I've ever stepped foot in. There was a very long line when we arrived but it went surprisingly quick! Service was great - the workers are friendly and willing to answer any questions. To top it off the ice cream was delicious! Very unique flavors to choose from - there's something for everyone. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
Love creamery is the best!! A must visit every time I am in Duluth. Friendly staff, fun & welcoming environment, DELICIOUS ice cream!!

Laurel B.

Yelp
Great local flavors, some non dairy, and vegan. Blueberry goat cheese was awesome. Dog friendly.
google avatar

Boris L.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Stop by here get the flight. We love the people and the flavors. The decor also helps. Definitely worth the stop. Check out the flavors at the two locations as they differ a bit.

Emily E.

Yelp
So so tasty! I would eat this every day if I lived in Duluth! Our whole family enjoyed their flavors. Love the reusable tasting spoons too!
google avatar

Lainey D.

Yelp
ZAMN. the line was out the door, and i see why. Top 5 best ice cream i've ever had. Get DARK CHOCOLATE!!! Tastes like a fudgecicle.
google avatar

Henry H.

Yelp
The Milk Chocolate ice cream was below average and overpriced. Nice atmosphere and staff, but wasn't for me.

Scott G.

Yelp
This place was crowded so we had high hopes. I got the dark chocolate on a waffle cone, my wife got dirty chai on a waffle cone. Both of our cones were soft and very stale. My chocolate was overly/artificially sweet. The dirty chai was a bit better but after a couple bites it wasn't worth eating either. We both threw out our full cones - mine while still in the restaurant, my wife about 100 feet later on the street. Very poor ice cream selection- I don't need the basic flavors but everything was odd and pretentious.

Marzouk A.

Yelp
Highy recommend and will definitely stop agian next visit. We were in Duluth on Sunday to bring our dog Halie to emergency vet. Looking for some comfort food came across this little creamery andthey were open! They make thier own waffle cones. We had one big scoop of roasted cherry, on my and big scoop of vanilla, luscious. I told them we were here with our dogs and she came back with two cups of pet ice cream. Bacon and Halie never lefted there heads until every drop was gone , they both give Love Creamery a five paw approval. Thank you so much!

Emily K.

Yelp
This is the best ice cream shop I have been to!! I live in Duluth and have gone many times, and am never disappointed. I love how they always have fun flavors, and the workers are nice and helpful. Their punchcard has really good rewards as well. The inside of both of the locations is cute and always clean, and I highly recommend stopping here either as a local or tourist!

Seg J.

Yelp
We stopped here while passing through Duluth at the kid's insistence. I'm not much of an ice cream fan and the lines were long but we stayed and I figured I would just skip the ice cream. Then I had a sample. This ice cream was something special. I had the strawberry rhubarb and it was delicious. Everyone in the family was impressed with how good this place was and we will definitely go back whenever we're in Duluth.
