While the food is an average array of Americana fare (#1), I would argue the actual venue itself is anything but average. During the weekday afternoons, Love Shack is a sleepy lunch spot for folks craving the burger + fries life, but at night at on the weekends, it's a place to indulge, drink and gather. All while enjoying the patio life and catching live music. All this in the in the middle of the Fort Worth Stockyards? Oh yes.
From the outside it might not look like much, but the place goes deep with the outdoor seating and a pseudo stage / amphitheater. There are numerous views to the stage, including a second floor walkup that's is perfect for groups. I could see this place being fun but I'd have to knock off a star for the shoddy customer service. Being patient and prepared will go a long way.
The menu is divided into three main groups of burgers, yard birds (#2), and (hot) dogs. My group and I managed to order a good number of items, which included various burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, fries, and chips. All of it was nice and greasy, but not overly memorable. To maximize the experience, I recommend doubling up the patty for all burgers and go for chips over fries.
Throw in a alcoholic beverage and some stellar company, and it may not matter what the live music act is. Don't take the place too seriously and a good time is likely to be had.
