Lovebirds Wine Bar Review - Greenpoint - New York - The Infatuation

"Give us a glass of wine in a cozy bar called Lovebirds, and we expect to fall in love immediately, or at least have a really great date. This Greenpoint wine bar across from McGolrick Park does their best to make that happen. Stills of iconic couples grace the walls, and if Lucy and Ricardo, or Katie and Hubble don’t inspire your own meet-cute story, it wasn’t meant to be. They’ve got a great wine list, a few small plates, and there’s always dessert, like their fantastic poppyseed cheesecake. But they don’t overdo the romance, and you can just as easily meet up with a friend here during the day, when they serve wine and coffee but no food. Jenny is incredible. Omg I got trapped in the heavy pouring rain and stopped by. She showed me all the great wines and gave me a sample and I enjoyed the conversations. I will be coming back and recommending everyone to come here!!!

You’ll wanna hang. Which is strange for a bottle shop. But the space itself looks like something out of Architecture Digest, or the heart of Brooklyn, where it is. The wine? Top notch. The staff? Always on point — with wine recs, tunes, and attitude. And they even have a cute lil sister restaurant in greenpoint, because of course they do. 10/10; the future is weird, but I will Lovebirds forever.

I am a lover of “weird” wines. The kind of wines you have to warn your basic cousin Erica about. Not in a “I know what I’m talking about” sense because trust, I don’t. I do know what I’m talking about when it comes to a place that will help me find these types of wines. Everyone who works here is not only incredibly friendly and wonderful, and does so when every moment of everyday would give you a reason to not be, but are also so incredibly knowledgeable and engaged. You can ask for a wine for your cousin, or ask for a wine that’ll really leave you confuddled, and they’ll help in every way, every time. A gem of a place and 5 stars isn’t nearly enough.

Fabulous, well curated selection with lots of geographic and stylistic variety. Cute, comfortable shopping environment and great staff recommendations! Lots of wines that aren't at other local wine shops (although can't go wrong with Henry's and Irving Bottle!). If you've been frequenting the same shops, stop by Lovebirds for some new things! Solid pricing too--lots of wines around $20.

Very helpful and knowledgable staff --- Ive been to all the other wine shops nearby and they either all have the same generic stock or its super pretentious!!! NOT HERE -- very chill and warm staff, I will often stop by here with my dog (yes pet friendly!). Tastings happen often and its a great opportunity to meet folks that live nearby. Keep up the great work!!
