The 20 Best Restaurants In Phoenix - Phoenix - The Infatuation

"Lovebite Dumplings is your best bet for a quick meal on Roosevelt Row, and honestly, maybe all of downtown. The grab-and-go dumpling shack specializes in pot stickers, pink rice, noodles, and every box (which includes five pot stickers) is just $12. Mix-and-match your box with rice and noodles and why not go all out: try every dumpling—pork, vegetable, chicken, and shrimp. If you’re looking for fast food that feels like a treat, and not just a last resort, this is the place." - lauren topor

Awesome service, creativity, quality, flavor, and value. I worked in Singapore and loved the unique tasty and super great Dumplings I would enjoy there but could never find in the US. Lovebird, gets it! Perfect. The care, creative energy, and tasty choices are spot on target! Don't miss this wonderful small Dumpling and Noodle cool vibe establishment. See my pix.

Google
Awesome unique restaurant in downtown Phoenix. Friend and I visited downtown to view the street art and found this place. Its like Chipotle for dumplings. Pick your choice of base (noodles, rice, salad) you can have mixture of all 3, then pick 6 dumplings (chicken, pork, shrimp, vegetable), and then sauce yuzu, sriracha, or kewpie. The rice is made with dragonfruit giving it a pink color and a little sweet. You can mix and match all you want. This is a carryout restaurant only. They have a few tables on the sidewalk but no inside room to sit. For less than $20 you get plenty of food.

Google
It’s to go orders only very quick and efficient. The food is so good. I loved all the dumplings you can make some match however, you like both with the base and the type of dumplings price is not cheap but it’s not too expensive to get a box and a drink it’ll cost you like maybe $20.

Google
Great value and great location! It’s nice you can have all 3 bases and an assortment of dumplings. The sauces were yummy too!

MEGHAN CUMA

Google
Great little spot! Yummy Dumplings. I got pork and shrimp. Half noodles half rice. Can’t really beat the price for downtown. Wish they had more drink options other than a few canned things but otherwise I’d come back!

Google
What I got: Pork dumpling with yuzu soy no base Finally tried this place after following the amount of shit talking this place has gotten online over the last I think two years and I have to agree with the people shit talking online. These are God awful taste like frozen dumplings and are not even hot. They came to me lukewarm and that Yuzu soy was by far the saltiest dip I’ve ever had with dumplings it’s five bucks if you don’t pay for a base as in the rice noodles or greens so I think the price is just worthy for the quality of them, but I would not pay 13 bucks for this crap I guess if you’re drunk enough, it’s a good quick snack to get, but there’s so many better dumpling places, especially downtown hard pass for me

Google
The food here is not only tasty but aesthetically pleasing. The dumplings are filling and the rice and noodles are a great pairing (you need to get both). This is a nice casual eat and you get your food really quickly. There is no indoor seating. I got veggie dumplings with rice and noodles, and it lasted me 2 meals. The staff is nice too.

Google
Ordered online for pickup. Amazing food but I ordered a side of rice that was not included in my takeout bag. The receipt with the takeout clearly states 1 side of rice. I would hope with a simple menu it wouldn’t be that hard to mess up. I want the $5 back that I paid for. There’s nothing worse than looking forward to food you ordered and it’s not there.

Yelp
The service and the convenience of this place is amazing! I've been going here since they opened. My only complaint is since I have been going for a while. I've noticed the dumplings to feel kinda raw and not fully cooked all the way through. Which makes me really sad bc I truly love it. But it's so cute in there and the pink rice is everything.

Yelp
This place had been on my list of places to try FO-EVA!!! So excited I finally had the opportunity to check it out with friends. We walked over to this spot around 8pm on a week day. There were a few groups ahead of us despite it being a weekday evening. The restaurant itself is extremely small, not much room at all. There was seating available outside though. A small selection of desserts were available for purchase too. The line also moves fast, since the menu is streamlined and not too many choices to pick from. After you've ordered, your food comes up at the window outside. I ordered noodles as my base and then choose one of each dumpling plus an additional pork and chicken and the kewpie sauce! Portions are good here, I had leftovers for the following day. The food was SOOOO delicious!!!! 10/10, will definitely be coming back here!!

Yelp
Small and mighty! This place is quaint and delicious. In a popular area with an upbeat modern hipster vibe but not too hipster for the purists. If I had known this place was here before then I would have been chowing down on these bomb@$$ dumplings a long time ago. I ordered take out / pick up as I work in downtown and was pleasantly surprised on how easy it was to order from their website. Fast and friendly service was awesome. I had the Lovebox with noodles, fried noodles and choice of 6 dumplings. I had to add a couple of extra ones because they are so good. The flavor of the shrimp, pork and chicken filling inside the soft fresh cooked dumplings is perfect. Do yourself a favor and add siracha if you like it spicy. Definitely my new favorite place for dumplings while at work or in the downtown area.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place. When we got there, the staff was super friendly. But ... the food falls flat. Got rice with salad mix, a mix of dumplings, and Kewpie mayo with Sriracha. It had no salt, barely any flavor, and the dumpling's texture was ... okay. Like if I got frozen dumplings and boiled it. Meh. There's a reason everyone seems to like it for late night, nothing else is open and/or they're high. Otherwise it's just ... ok. I went once. I lived a block away. And yet never went back.

Yelp
I ordered catering for my birthday and I highly recommend it!! The owner was very helpful and I was able to have the best birthday with my friends. There was a slight mix up with one of the boxes but it was immediately fixed. The food is so good- all my friends and I loved it! We ate everything and it was perfectly filling. The pink rice is sweet and my favorite! The vegetable potstickers were fab and I'll definitely order them again. All the employees are incredibly kind and I was able to get my stuff delivered (because I ordered catering) and the food arrived right on time! Everything was great! If you're having a party you definitely should order through Lovebite

Yelp
My friend and I are self-appointed dumpling aficionados. We find dumpling places in the greater Phoenix area and hit them up for lunch. We both really enjoyed our experience at LoveBite. The idea behind the menu is super simple and quite cute. We built our boxes with the help of the friendly clerk and sat outside to enjoy them al fresco. Seating is limited and free parking is sparse, but we made it work. I really enjoyed the pink rice and noodles (I had half and half of each for my base). I found the dumplings to be a wonderful texture and very light. The pricing is very reasonable as well, which is always a perk!

Yelp
It was very close to the Nash Jazz venue where i had to see a concert. Good thing it was relatively quick since everything was pre-prepared. There was only one woman working so a little bit of a bottleneck. The pink rice is very cute and tasted a little coconuttty. The dumplings i honestly could not tell the difference between the shrimp and chicken.

Yelp
I have been meaning to try this place for a long time, and I was so happy I finally got to it. This place is perfect! The location makes it for a great stop at the end of your night in downtown phx. I got the veggie dumplings with half rice and half noodles. It was delicious! The sauces that came on top were great and everything was flavorful. One think I will say is I wish the food was a little hotter, although because we ate it outside right away that wasn't a huge issue. The ladies helping us on Saturday night were so friendly and amazing. I very much recommend this place!

Yelp
I was really excited to try a pink food place! I did half rice and half noodles with chicken dumplings and yuzo sauce on the side. The noodles were luke warm, I think if the noodles were a tad hotter it would be perfect. The Ube rice was pretty good. The chicken dumplings were luke warm as well. Makes me wonder how long the food had been sitting out as it didn't taste fresh and was at a luke warm room temperature. It was good but I wouldn't say the best I've ever tasted. Need more flavorful sauces. I do like plain and simple but this was really plain. Also another suggestion would be to have maybe wonton chips as an option instead of crispy onions which I declined having it on my meal. The cheesecake was really good! Well can you call it cheesecake if there was no cheesecake crust? That's what makes a cheesecake! It's purple but didn't taste like ube to me. It was good non-the-less. The packaging is what I found to be impressive and high quality. Loved the box the meal comes in as well as the bag (which reminds me of MAC makeup bags lol). Definitely room for improvement. The focus needs to be on the food to match the beautiful packaging.

Yelp
If LoveBite wasn't such an already great name, I might suggest they change their name to "Damn Good Dumplings" because let me tell you, these were some damn good dumplings. The texture and flavors were perfect. The dumplings were beautiful. The pink rice was such a fun touch. The sauce and spice an amazing compliment to the already great flavors. True to their name, I loved every bite. Also, the branding and box truly deserve some love. That packaging and presentation was top tier. So happy to have found this place. It's one of those spots you want to share with people because you know they'll love it. I will definitely be filling my mouth with more of these lovely little bites in the near future!

Yelp
Enjoyed the veggie dumplings and Ube cookie the most. My build-a-box had veggie dumplings, chicken dumplings, salad, noodles, with Yuzu Soy sauce and Kewpie sauce. $12 a box and cookies are $5. No indoor seating, just outdoor seating.

Yelp
*Takeout order: I hate to leave this review because I really wanted to like this place. However, these were the worst dumplings and noodles I've ever had. No flavor like nothing was there... dipped it in the yuzu soy sauce and still nada. Pretty bummed out :(

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! From the dedication to the care in their customer service, to the food, to the branding, to the values. We ordered a large order for our company lunch, and everyone was amazed by the quality especially for the price. We love to support a local restaurant and especially one that pays their employees livable wages. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Really, this is a 5 in concept but a 3.5 star overall. I love a great dumpling. On a recent trip abroad I broke my number one travel rule - never eat at the same place twice. But we'd stumbled upon a dumpling (gyoza) shop. I immediately said I need one of these near work. I'd eat dumplings 2-3 times a week! So back to Lovebite...the packaging is magic. Very cute. Your pack of chopsticks forms the handle for your little box of Lovebite. I got pork dumplings over noodles with the yuzu soy dipping sauce. The sauce was awesome! The dumplings were flavorful and five was the exact right number to serve with the noodles. They could kick it up to another level if they made the dumplings in-house. I think these were standard food-service pre-made. I'd have generously given four or five stars if they were house made. The noodles were a great texture and had some seasoning and flavor. They just lacked something. Maybe onion flavor? If they cooked the noodle with more green or white onion and maybe a little togarashi for some spicy notes, they'd really hit a home run. I'll be back, Lovebite! Love the concept. Hope to try more combos in the near future.

Yelp
In general, I like the overall concept and simplicity! You choose your base, what types of dumplings you want, and then finally your choice of dipping sauces. The noodles and rice are infused with dragon fruit, which gives them an interesting a unique pink color, however, I didn't taste any hint of dragon fruit so it might just be for coloring purposes? Unfortunately, I found the noodles to lack any flavor at all, but the dumplings were decent. The food was served at room temperature, so I wish the food was hotter since it tasted like the noodles and dumplings had been sitting for a while now. Again, I like the overall concept and packaging but was a bit disappointed by the overall flavors (or lack there of).

Yelp
Three steps to happiness: 1.) Choose your base - (Pink) Rice, salad, or noodles 2.) Choose your dumplings - Pork, veggie, chicken, or shrimp 3.) Choose your sauce - Kewpie, yuzu soy sauce, or Sriracha Sitting pretty in the historic Roosevelt Row district is the Instagram-worthy Lovesack Dumpling. It's a cute dumpling stand where five dumplings will cost you $12 with the option of paying $3 more to get an addition of five dumplings. You can mix your base, dumplings, and sauce. I recommend the fragrant pink rice with some pork dumplings and all three sauces. The shrimp dumplings are pale and lacked flavor, so I'd pass on shrimp if I were to come again. The meat to wrapper ratio also isn't the best. The food is served at room temperature, so if you're expecting some hot comfort food, this won't be for you. There's very limited outdoor seating, so expect to take your to-go box home. It's a great Instagrammable place. While decent, I would not be in a rush to come back. It's not a place I'd tell people that they had to try while in Roosevelt Row, but hey, support local!

Yelp
I appreciate what they are trying to do here. A group and their family coming together to create a food location that is affordable, healthy, and filling. The concept is thoughtful and as a new business, they are clearly soaring. A party of 6 came to this location and have found that the line can go crazy long! This must be the help from social media, news, and word-of-mouth. The line was moving pretty slow and hopefully something to address in the future. The staff were very friendly during our interactions and they were apologetic of the wait. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners and the parents who were enjoyable to conversation with. Because of the long wait we even got free drinks! A nice gesture and very appreciative. The food was a bit of a letdown. They were out of noodles and only had rice and salad leftover. The rice was a mixture of overcooked and undercooked rice, but also tasted bland. It is infused with coconut milk, lemongrass, and dragonfruit but we did not taste any of that. I wish they gave more dumplings with every order because the ratio is not enough with the base. The dumplings tasted good, but you can tell it is not made in-house and frozen. This is a great concept, and the price is affordable. A lot of areas for improvement and with the right changes I can see this growing even more.

Yelp
This place is so cute! It's a tiny place with a little outdoor seating. The dumplings were great! I liked the veggie best and my husband loved the pork ones. Definitely get the fried onions! The parking lot directly behind them was $30 on a Friday afternoon so beware, but that's not their fault.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped by for a late lunch on Friday and there was a party of three ahead of us. We heard the employee explain to them how the process worked so when it was our turn we knew how to order. It's very easy and there is literally just three steps when picking what you want. I ordered half noodles / half rice and I got three pork and 2 chicken dumplings with soy sauce and siracha. My sister had the half rice / half noodles as well and she got one veggie, two pork, and two chicken with all three sauces (soy, kewpie, and siracha). We also bought a Poppi drink and our total was about $38 - with a tip. We sat down outside as they had a few tables with an umbrella set up. The tables were dirty and had not been cleaned so we did our best to wipe ours off. It was time for the best part - time to eat. I opened my cute little box and quickly noticed that the dumplings were mixed together so I had no idea which was which. Both the pork and chicken looked and tasted the same.... and they tasted really good!!! The inside mixture was great as it was very flavorful and not dry. My sisters veggie dumpling was also delicious and the inside mixture was really good. The dumplings were unfortunately not hot though and they were barely lukewarm. This also went for the rice and noodles. Nothing was hot and my food got cold really quick.... The employee was very nice and friendly and she had a very approachable vibe. Overall, this place is super cute and I enjoyed the colors, logos, and atmosphere. Prices are reasonable for the area and the service was great but just wish the food would've been hot.

Yelp
I like the concept, and love dumplings. Sadly, this is one that is better in theory than practice. The dumplings didn't taste fresh and the bottom of my box leaked. There really isn't room to sit, so it is more of a to go spot, and more of an appetizer feel. I thought the green base was good, and the staff was friendly, but the quality of the dumplings feels close to what I can get from Costco for less.

Yelp
I ordered the build your own box and got a variety of veggie, chicken and shrimp. The veggie and chicken were my favorite! We ordered takeout but noticed the food wasn't as warm as we hoped it would be. Not a problem after putting it in the microwave! The service is fast and friendly. Parking can be tricky but once you get into the lot there's plenty of space!
google avatar

Yasmin T.

Yelp
This place is so cute and you can tell the owners had such a vision when opening it. I love the outdoor tables you can sit at however I do see that being a challenge in the summer. The service was quick and the team working was extremely friendly and efficient. The food was not impressive. The price point is amazing but the quality is not there in my opinion. The rice and noodles were bland and the dumplings maybe a little notch above the ones you'd get in the freezer section. Maybe it was an off day I just was not impressed overall.

Yelp
Ate this at first Friday a couple months ago. I was fairly toasted at the time and this REALLY REALLY hit the spot. It was like time stopped around me, the chaos was silenced.... People were getting arrested for fighting, there were the Palestine protests going down...All that faded away when I was face down into this box of noodles and dumpling, crushing them going to town on a random chair on the curb...it was spiritual. I think about them often, and I hope to make it back soon.

Yelp
Love! Such a cool aesthetic inside and out. Love their branding, packaging, and decor as well as the food! They keep the process simple - Choose a base of noodles, rice, or greens. Then choose your dumplings (you get 5) I tried both the chicken and pork. Pork dumplings were fantastic! Also the kewpie mayo is the best sauce for any of your choices! Great service here everyone was so friendly and happy to be working even with a line out the door. They will do very well no doubt. Note: This is super instagramable and tasty food but it is not traditional. Not a bad thing at all but someone expecting what they know would probably have an issue with that. I on the other hand am obsessed and will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
What a gem on 116 Roosevelt Street in downtown Phoenix! Quick reasonably priced gourmet food we tried the chicken, shrimp, and vegetable dumplings with coconut milk steamed lemongrass rice and yakisoba sesame noodles. There were four amazing sauces to try! The place is immaculate. The server was so kind and helpful with ordering and describing the menu. Definitely worth stopping in!
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
Such a cool little spot in downtown phx! I've never really been into dumplings but my gosh were these yummy. My favorite were the chicken and I loved the noodles and rice which are made with coconut and dragonfruit. I can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Alex L.

Yelp
Cool branding and very friendly, personable staff. Theres only some outdoor seating as this is more aimed as a to-go concept. It's located on the historic Roosevelt Row so be mindful of (paid) parking. The interior is aesthetic. It's small, inviting ,and straightforward. You get to start with a base of veggies, dragon fruit infused noodles, and coconut purple/pink rice. Next you choose 5 dumplings from pork, shrimp, chicken, and veggie. Then finish off with sriracha, kewpie Mayo, and yuzu soy. When I ordered noodles with pork and shrimp dumplings I think they were okay. Flavor is so-so and I decided I was unable to continue finishing the noodles. Realistically I believe these are marketed more for "Western palates" as they aren't authentic. But that doesn't necessarily mean they're not good. There could be an improvement in flavor, texture, and overall culture lol Just expect the obvious. I went during their soft opening so I understand they are still working and developing. Love their branding and their friendly employees!
google avatar

Yelp
Lovesack (ñame subject to change as the jerks at Lovesac think it's too close to their name and suing) Dumplings was incredible. Quick service. The dumplings tasted great. There's no seating inside, as it's a quick grab and go spot, but they had some seating setup outside. We loved it. Saw it on Instagram so decided to try. Met the owners parents outside. Very nice people, and got the story of the name situation! Too crazy. Hopefully they come up with a new name and stick around for the foreseeable future because their food is too good!
google avatar

Theresa S.

Yelp
Saw this place on social media and my friend and I decided to stop by. The inside is quite small and there isn't any seating except for a table outside. But the person who helped us was extremely nice and explained everything to us. I got both the rice and noodles with 2 chicken and 3 shrimp dumplings. The rice was good. The noodles had a sesame, savory, taste to them! The chicken dumplings were so so good, but the shrimp really had a nice soft flavor which I enjoyed. I topped mine with the kewpie and sriracha, not too spicy but very flavorful. My friend was able to order the sauces on the side which we appreciated. We brought our meals that were packaged in the cutest box to a nearby bar and enjoyed the meal there! Will most definitely be back!
google avatar

Mary T.

Yelp
Came on a Monday at noon after the soft opening and luckily there was no line! I opted to try all the dumpling flavors plus an extra chicken. For the base- I chose rice. I was a little disappointed that they ran out of noodles being that it was only noon. I was recommended the yuzu sauce for the rice so I went with that with a little sriracha The amount of rice is super generous and I would have loved a little more flavoring to the dumplings- perhaps more sauce on the dumplings or extra sauce on the side Customer service was excellent and they have a great variety of drink options! Would love to come back and try the dumplings with noodles
google avatar

Katie A.

Yelp
Amazing concept that is incredibly well executed! You can't find a better deal for this much food in this area. I was able to try the chicken and noodles (with sriracha and kewpie) as well as the rice and pork (yuzu soy sauce). The pink rice is amazing and the noodles were great. The flavors and textures are great, the sauce is unbelievable, and the environment is so fun. Don't forget to ask about how to use the fork/chopsticks!!
google avatar

Jenae W.

Yelp
The food was good for the price. The rice was good, the dumplings tasted like they were the frozen kind from Costco but weren't bad and the noodles were a little mushy when we went. Nonetheless it was only $12 per box so we weren't expecting anything too fancy! Would come back if we needed something quick and we were in the area but probably wouldn't go out of our way.
google avatar

Yelp
I very much enjoyed everything about Lovebite. While they are not the best dumplings i've ever had, for a fast food sort of restaurant my meal was delicious. The concept in general is really cool and unique, really glad they opened up in downtown Phoenix. The ambiance and packaging is so cute. The service is kind and inviting. I had the veggie dumplings over rice, and got all three sauces. The noodles were super yummy, and the dumplings were great as well. I do recommend getting all 3 sauces as they do go a bit light and I don't think it would have been nearly as good without all of them. The only thing I would suggest is making the dumplings fresh, although I understand that it is more of a fast food joint. I would absolutely recommend Lovebite and will definitely be coming back.
google avatar

Caroline E.

Yelp
This place is a cutie little dumpling spot! We chose rice as the base (it's just white rice that's colored) and we got 10 dumplings. We got a combination of pork, chicken, and shrimp and got the yuzu soy sauce that comes on the side with crunchy onions on top. The dumplings, rice, and sauce were all really good just couldn't tell the difference between any of the dumplings. Would come back though!
google avatar

Kaelyn C.

Yelp
I wasn't sure what to expect when I walked in, but wow--this place blew me away! My uncle and I stopped by for a quick bite while waiting for our family to finish getting tattoos, and it ended up being the best decision ever. The food was amazing, and the service was absolutely top-tier. I'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
NO NOTES FOR LOVEBITE my favorite lunch spot - it's quick and so so good, the veggie and chicken dumps especially.

Madison C.

Yelp
We loooooved Lovebite and will be back. The staff was so kind and we loved the food. We got the unique pleasure of meeting the owner as well who handles all of their social media. She seems to really support her staff which we love!!! Recommend this as a late night snack while walking DTPHX!! On god, on Heaven, they are the BEST!

David L.

Yelp
Delicious and fast service. They offer to explain the ordering process for you if you're new to this sort of thing. They also prepare your dish quickly and are happy to answer any questions or provide extra information. There is only outdoor seating, but the indoors is air conditioned and provides water.
google avatar

Ariana T.

Yelp
Walking by and notice everyone with cute boxes so we decided to stop and try it out. Fast pace place with helpful and friendly service. So you get to choose the base you could split or stick with one I got the rice and noodles also with the dumplings they have four type we got chicken and pork and all 3 sauce . I would honestly skip on the rice the noodles were so good and the dumplings as well.. this was a shareable box
google avatar

Janet R.

Yelp
This place is wonderful, the food is incredibly flavorful! They do need to re-do their organization system, because our tickets were lost for a solid 40 minutes and it was incredibly hot outside... We sat there sweating and had to come to the window a few times to ask where our orders were. They did feel bad about our order and did give us free dessert, which was great! But, maybe work on your ticketing system a little so you don't lose anything!
google avatar

Breanne C.

Yelp
Amazing!!! The service was friendly, fast, and helpful for my first time trying the place. They let me try the rice first before I made my decision. I got half rice, half noodles, crispy onions, 2 pork dumplings, 2 chicken dumplings, 1 veggie dumpling, and all 3 sauces. I will 100% be coming back here! The place is super cute with good vibes & great music. Nice outdoor seating area. LOVE!

Yelp
Very cute concept, affordable and chill as a takeout spot. I loved the pink rice with a coconut flavor. We had a variety of the dumplings and I will say I feel like you could make similar dumplings from frozen at home. The service was quick though.

Yelp
Uh no... I ordered on DoorDash. I don't even want to give them the benefit of the doubt that one of the errors was my Dashers fault, because the most unforgivable one was the problem with the food. I ordered two dumpling boxes and a cheesecake. They forgot about my cheesecake. Which I don't even know what to say about that. When you get your mouth ready for cheesecake and it doesn't show up, you feel like you wanna pull your hair out. But the most unforgivable one was they gave me a box with all the fixings, the sauces the noodles and the second box was just dry ass noodles and dry dumplings. I mean??? DoorDash refunded me and the entire purchase and I will absolutely never go back there again. Clearly fixable mistakes and they just said WGAF.

Yelp
I was really excited when I saw this place was opening. Great concept but the food sadly didn't live up to the hype. The dumplings tasted store bought and I could not distinguish between the different fillings and the sauce didn't add much. The rice was hard but the purple color was a fun twist. Service was quick but one of the employees kept pulling at the front of her hair which was off putting.

Yelp
Staff is amazing and friendly! Food is great, but always seem to be out of something whether it's noodles or a certain dumpling unfortunately.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but unfortunately it was disappointing. The shrimp dumplings were white instead and the ratio to carb(base) and dumplings were off. The packaging was super cute but the actual quality of the food could be better. It'd also help maybe to pan fry it and include sauces on the side. Maybe an additional veggie in the box or something may help too
