This used to be my favorite bakery when I worked in downtown. I would stop by for the eclairs with real custard and heavy layer of chocolate. It's been a while since I left work last June, and haven't had a chance to come over since then.
Now it's limited to 3 people per entry, so I waited outside. I've learned to layer up clothing for these reasons, and it was good to see it being busy. I was saddened to hear eclair was taken off due to its short shelf life, and probably wasn't suitable with less foot traffic.
So I went with veggie (roasted bell pepper) croissant, as I wanted something I can walk and eat. It's $3.75, but I was charged $4.75 (price for the ham filling) - I let it go, since it's a new item and mistakes happen. I already paid 15% tip too, so it came out higher than I've initially expected.
I bit into the croissant and cheese. It was soft, moist, and satisfyingly savory. What was disappointing is the filling - it was almost empty. I had to eat half just to reach the stuffing.... barely a teaspoon.
For the price point it wasn't worth it, and I am still quite hungry as I write this. Even Costco croissants are more filling than this for fraction of the price - without fillings. I'm aware profit margin is slim in food industry, but little extra love on the filling would be appreciated.
