Yelp
This place is called a brewery for a reason, the beer is immaculate but avoid the food at all cost. We ordered the pretzel, mac and cheese, and a pepperoni pizza. Can confidently say all the dishes were incredibly mediocre, bland, or just downright bad. Additionally the portion sizes for what you get compared to what you pay for aren't worth it either. The pretzel and pizza were lacking flavor and mid, but I cannot stress this enough, do not get the mac and cheese! It's was easily the most flavorless and worst Mac and cheese I've ever eaten. It tasted like I was chewing on a pencil eraser in grade school as a kid. Positive side of this place is the location is great, vibes are good inside, and the service was pretty decent. Definitely a super friendly wait staff. The beers on tap are always a fantastic selection and no matter what kind of beer you like they will 100% have something you like! Beer = 10/10 Food = 3/10 Service/Ambiance = 7/10

Yelp
Night Shift is one of my favorite local breweries. Great variety of beers with fun names and can packaging. This location is clean and spacious with plenty of seats at the bars and tables. There are several TVs at the bar so this is a great place to have a drink and watch a sports game. During my last visit I had the Ritzy AF (golden ale with toffee, salty crackers, and vanilla) and Hockeyeast Ale (fruity beer with orange zest and lychee) and I enjoyed both. I like how they organize the beers into categories with flavor descriptions. I was also offered a sample of a beet before I ordered a full glass so don't be afraid to ask to try something. Some of the beers are taproom exclusive which is another good reason to come here. They also have wine, cocktails, and mocktails for those who don't want beer. I ordered the Shifty pizza which had a nice balance of sweet, savory, and spicy flavors. The pizza was very filling and made a great meal, but it would also be nice to share. The service was excellent. Bartenders frequently checked in and refilled my water. Ii want to get cans to go so the bartender went downstairs twice to get what I wanted.

Yelp
Came here on a Wednesday evening for an earlyish dinner and the space was very empty - they had a huge amount of tables and the place had barely any other parties so it felt very open and not lively, but was clean and spacious nonetheless. Service was okay - food and drinks came out at a good speed, but our server rarely came down to see or check on us which wasn't great, especially when we needed water or the check. Pizza was yummy, but super expensive for the portion size. It definitely wasn't worth it. Fries were nice though and I thought the size was fair. Drinks were good as well, just not super memorable as I don't recall how my beer was at all. Overall, I probably would come back for drinks and the sharable apps - definitely pass on the pizza.

Yelp
Located on the wharf close to TD Gardens. The brewery is super bright and fun inside. There is a ton of seating inside and an outdoor patio area. We opted to sit at the bar as we only wanted a drink. The service here was not that great. Our server was very rude and unfriendly. She was not helpful at all and it came across as if we were an inconvenience to her. We tasted many beers before trying to select one. We tried the Tuscania, Kolsch Encounters, and Garden Party. None stood out to us so we just settled for a safe wheat one, fruity with a booty. It was ok. We quickly drank and left. They can do a "flight" for you, which are two 4oz pours but the prices vary based on the beer you want. It is just better to get the full pour of your drink.

Yelp
Awesome brewery in walking distance to hotels and the stadium. The inside is large, clean, and has good vibes, good music. Bartenders and staff were all friendly! Large menu of food and drinks. I got 6 tasters because everything sounded great and everything was as expected. I wasn't disappointed in any of the beers. I have to say, I'll be back to try the sours and IPAs, but it'll be hard to beat their dark beers. Favorite was the cinnamon churro, PB & J stout, and ritzy. They all blended so well, didn't sit too heavy, and nice mouth feel. Can't wait to come back

Yelp
A very nice date spot on the water so I could enjoy the sunset on the Charles behind the zakim bridge. I like the walk over here from the lechmere area. I liked going to get ice cream right over the river in Charlestown after. We saw a blue heron on the new bridge on our walk home. Only half of the bridge is built for pedestrians at this time, but it was still a pleasant journey. Staff was helpful but a bit disorganized and didn't know who was at what table. Some stuff could be better marked as well. There was one lanky man I thought really had to pee a lot but it turned out he was a waiter.

Yelp
We came here for dinner before an event at TD Garden. Most other places were 1.5 hours wait for a table but Night Shift was able to accommodate our larger group. The food was very good especially the giant pretzel, pickle chips and without a doubt the star of the night was...... the Figgy Piggy pizza. I will totally be back here!!!!

Danielle P.

Yelp
Solid beer choices and chill vibe. I sat at the bar. Unfortunately they don't do flights, but you can buy 4oz pours (AKA flight size) but expect to pay a pretty penny for them. If you're with a group, you're better off buying full pours and sharing them as a 4 oz pour is half the price of an ENTIRE pour (12oz or 16 oz). Silly. I ordered a pretzel and rosemary truffle fries. I liked the fries better, but I'm a sucker for a pretzel. It's giant, like the menu says. The cheese included was just okay- not a lot of flavor or enough for the amount of pretzel you get. Fries definitely had good flavor, though. And definitely sharing size. So many dries! Anyway, the Hefeweizen was easily my favorite of the ones I tried. I'm not a huge fan of hoppy beers, but they had quite a few of those available. The guy working the bar was attentive and I liked that he automatically gave water regardless of what you ordered.

Yelp
Second time coming here now and still impressed even more so this time because of the big rush of people. We were waiting for the Coheed and Incubus show to open up and wanted a quick bite and could tell every spot nearby TD Garden was busy. Thankfully after checking in here we were at immediately after they confirmed the spots open outside. The rosemary truffle fries and the dip they came with were phenomenal and would suggest sharing an order for your table. Their chicken bacon ranch sandwich was very tasty as well. We tried their pizza last time and you can't go wrong with one of those either! The inside is what you'd expect of a brewery restaurant with bar seating as well as some high tops and lower tables as well. Outside is small amount of metal tables with a close harbor view. Service was a bit slow but under stable with the extreme rush. Worth a stop for beer and bite especially if the patio is available during nice weather.

Kia L.

Yelp
Came here for a company happy hour yesterday. Service was really great and I heard the ale is good! I don't drink beer but I ordered the Spring flower Mocktail. It was really tasty and the elderflower was a nice touch. Everything I tasted here was great. Loved the pizza and wings, nice bar food. I ended my meal with an ice cream sandwich which was perfect!!

Riley S.

Yelp
As a native Detroiter, I believe Night Shift is the #1 spot for Detroit Style Pizza. We accidentally stumbled in on a Celtics game day & were provided with an anticipated 30 minute wait for two. After about 15-20 minutes we were seated at a community style high-top, typical for a brewery. A sour and two stouts were ordered alongside with our pizza. For the three beers and the pizza, I was pleasantly surprised by a roughly $57 check! While the pizza portion is smaller, you can't beat it! I'll be back, but absolutely making reservations and checking scheduled ahead of time.

Kathleen D.

Yelp
I was super bummed to find Night Shift to be pretty much a total letdown. I've had their Nite Lite lager before, and I enjoyed it, so I was really excited to check out some other beers by them. I was visiting friends in Boston for the weekend, so we made our way to the North End to pay a visit. We didn't have a reservation and it was busy since it was a rainy Saturday. We got on the wait list for a table and in the meantime were offered a counter ledge, which worked for us. Our server was deliberately miserable. I am usually pretty understanding when it comes to service workers, being that I work in customer service myself, but her level of blatant apathy, disdain, and irritation couldn't have been any more palpable. Like it or not, that does rub off on a patron's experience. We didn't do anything to deserve that energy. I asked if they offered flights or half-pours. Nope. My friend asked for advice on a good IPA. She answered with the name of one, that was it, no reasoning. Since they didn't offer any sort of taster, all three of us ended up with full pours of drinks we did not like at all. One friend got a hard seltzer can that tasted like cough syrup. My friend's IPA (Fluffy) was pretty foul, and my sour was just okay. We ended up cashing out after our round and moved elsewhere. Night Shift was the only miss that weekend. :-(

Annette H.

Yelp
Food and drinks spot on! Went here before a Boston Celtics game. Staff friendly and great location!

Liliana U.

Yelp
Drinks: Nice selection of beers with a combination of fun unique flavors and classic styles. They don't offer flights but they do offer 2 small pours at a time which works just as well! Service: the beertender was great! Very warm and welcoming. Had some great recommendations. Ambiance: tons of singles, couples and groups of friends. Very family friendly as well and saw a whole team of underage kids and coaches enjoying food there.

Yelp
I came here with my brother and nephew on a Tuesday night and the place was slammed and is very noisy with a young energetic crowd. We sat at a table for four and the service was very quick. I tried the 87 beer, there beers are $7-$9 for a 12 ounce pour which seems the going price these days, but a little disappointing as the beer was just okay. I ordered the wedge salad with added chicken and we also wings and fried pickles for the table, which are a house specialty. The portions here are huge and the food was pretty good. They actually need to reduce the portions or get bigger plates as the salad was hard to eat. My slightly lower than perfect score is due to the chicken (a on the salad) did not taste freshly cooked, maybe reheated, and the beer was not great. The wings were decent but the sauce was too sweet for me.

Channon F.

Yelp
Awesome sours! Amazing Fish tacos and the wings really really good and spicy . Staff and service so nice and just so great! There was a game happening so not so busy. Would highly recommend

Yelp
BLUF - overall good place but what makes it go this place a three star star over a four star was the week service. The high prices for the area means that you really want to get good quality service and quick service with your meal. The lax approach taken by our server was a little bit. Disappointing. The location reminds me of a sports bar brewery. The beer were overall pretty good and I definitely recommend trying the different flights. Getting to the location because of construction also made it a little bit difficult to find the place.

Megan Y.

Yelp
Came here for a private event tonight and was impressed with almost everything! It's an enormous place, big enough to host at least 500 of us, and the drinks were good too. My partner got the seasonal pumpkin beer and I got the white wine and we both enjoyed them. For food, we tried the fried chicken sliders, foccacia beef burgers, pizzas, wings, pretzels and another flatbread type sandwich with what tasted like caramelized onions and tomatoes, it was DELICIOUS! The burger was a bit dry, but everything else was very good, especially for a brewery.

Brooke C.

Yelp
The view from the patio is breathtaking. That was the best part for sure. I didn't love my beer personally. I did appreciate that they had some cool non alcoholic beer options for the person I went with. Our waiter did check in a bunch and keep our service moving quickly. Only other negative thing was that our table was super unstable and our paper menus were flying off in the wind. Wind is to be expected for this location so I think it would be wise for them to invest in some more heavyweight menus

Austin J.

Yelp
We live close bye and we have been here almost a year and We never gave it a try because we figured it was just bar food. So wrong was I. Great beer and my wife who likes wine is always dissatisfied at bar food places but had no complaints here. Try the wings, trust me, they took a wing and elevated it. Simply awesome. The pizza's are fantastic. It can get crazy when there's a garden event but so does every place. Just go already. It's on my short list of go to places now.

Diane S.

Yelp
Great deep dish pizza. Fantastic selection of beers. Fun location. Would love to go back in the nice weather

Tara L.

Yelp
Beer was good. Food was fair. Location is great. Atmosphere was ok, but the service was deplorable. The first bartender was attentive, it went downhill from there. It was a Sunday midday with lots of empty tables (waiting for a rush prior to a Bruins game). Employees outnumbered patrons while I was there but you'd never know it by the lack of service. I felt as if I was imposing by trying to pay my tab. The 2nd bartender was rude, dismissive, and obnoxious. The other patrons and I had a good laugh while we waited for her to grace us with her presence. I won't be back.

Jackie L.

Yelp
Night shift brewing is a really cool spot in boston to grab a beer. It's right on the harbor. You can make a reservation or just walk in and sit at the bar. Service is very good. They have great detroit style pizza. We also had the truffle fries. The view is fabulous. It's a nice spot to check out if you're in from out of town!

John E.

Yelp
Nice craft beer spot right next to TD Garden. View of the canal and stadium with an outside patio. Better than average bar food - we tried the Nashville hot chicken and it was great. The wait staff was equally great and the atmosphere was uniquely Night Shift. Must check this spot when watching Celtics.

Kaori M.

Yelp
Irish beers are good Food are very American and not good, as a eater this is a big minus even if it is a bar Location is good Only outside tables are good Inside is too loud and air is not good quality Service is good

Shanna B.

Yelp
Absolutely DELICIOUS food. I always come back for the Shifty pizza. Service is great and food comes out fast. Great space in a great part of Boston. We will be back again and again!

Stephanie S.

Yelp
I liked this brewery. It's a pretty big space with an outdoor area as well. We shared the pickle chips, these were really tasty and crunchy. I had the Oktoberfest beer, it was a solid German style beer.

Alana K.

Yelp
I came here with a couple friends on a Sunday afternoon around 4. We had to problem getting seating. Our waitress was really nice. It took a while for us to decide what to order, but she was patient while we figured it out. I ordered the Birthday Brownie stout, which was good. They have a pretty varied selection of beers. For food, 7 of us shared two pizzas, which was the perfect afternoon snack. We ordered the Figgy Piggy (prosciutto, burrata, & tomato-fig jam) and the Green Mile (broccolini, olives, fresh ricotta, & red sauce). My favorite was the Figgy Piggy. Overall, good drinks and good food. I would definitely come back!

Warren J.

Yelp
Amazing brewery. Best place to go and hang out with associates, friends, family or coworkers. Whether to just go for a drink and food or to hang out before the game. Love this spot!

Allison T.

Yelp
one of the best pizzas i've had! i don't love the beer selection but one of my favorite spots for bar food in Boston! Amazing pretzel too

John M.

Yelp
Went for dinner before a concert. Ordered the chicken wings with Sriracha and sesame seeds, avocado toast salad and the hot chicken sandwich. Flavors were good and the environment was great for drinks and food before a show.

Michael W.

Yelp
Night Shift at Lovejoy Wharf is a fun treat. I typically come here before a Bruins came to grab a beer and some food. Night Shift is, of course, known for their beers, and on that front, this location does not disappoint. Anyone who even remotely enjoys beer is very likely to find something on the menu- a mixture of mainstays and rotating offerings- that they will like. The menu is thoughtfully curated, and everything is decent to great. I especially like any of their baked goods, like the giant pretzel and the flatbreads. It can get extremely busy and chaotic during the TD Garden event windows, and this does impact the service and the ambience, but if you're feeling a little generous in terms of time and noise levels, you can't really go wrong in terms of a pre or post game spot for a bite and a sip.

Amber P.

Yelp
This place is so fun! Lots of beer/seltzer options and the food is decent. Def go here if you are in the area

Steve A.

Yelp
Another one of these Boston breweries. It looks classy and trendy but it's actually more like a casual sports bar with loud ass fans. Night Shift has a couple brewpubs with this one being on Lovejoy Wharf. Kind of expensive compared to other craft breweries around here. There's also some expensive food too. It has a pretty decent draft list of their craft beers. Many beers have a fruity flavor. They have a few sours. Of course there's the usual IPA. They have a pretty okay variety. I like the Whirlpool the best. It's $9.50 for a pint. That's a lot even for a craft beer unfortunately. It's a New England Pale Ale. This has hints of clementine and grapefruit. Also there's food. Mostly stuff like pizza. A lot of common foods for a bar. Unfortunately the food is pretty expensive. It has some cheaper smaller bites. They have Marinated Olives. It's $4.50 for a good amount. These are tossed in garlic confit and lemon. Cool place to chill out awhile. Its high prices are the only bad thing about it. There's lots of TVs so you can watch sports and other fun stuff.

Alexandra K.

Yelp
I am doing 4 stars because we absolutely love this establishment and frequent it but had a really subpar experience tonight. The drinks are great, food is usually amazing, but the service was really lacking aside from the one bartender with the hanging earring who went above and beyond. We ordered a standard pizza to go (our usual) and what we received was legit thin crust compared to what we were supposed to get (Detroit style). At first I assumed it was because we ordered at 7:30 PM, but a woman whose pizza came out 25 min after ours was as usual and perfect looking. I can only guess someone no showed a to go pizza and they reheated and gave it to us which is lame as hell. The dough was flat, stale, and disgusting. I will be back because this pizza is my comfort food as someone on the spectrum but this was disappointing

Sharon L.

Yelp
Night shift brewery is a great place to grab a drink with friends and try some different beers. However what really stood out to me was the food the offered as well. The lime lite wings were very nicely cooked, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. It had a really nice tangy-ness to it that makes the taste de looks and unique. The Roni Roni Roni pizza had a super soft dough that was crispy on the bottom and warm in the middle. It was loaded with pepperoni and cheese. Lastly the Nashville chicken sandwich has a nice kick of spice and comes in a large portion. The fries were also super delicious. Great place to grab some dinner and drinks!!

Larry B.

Yelp
I wish I took pictures but.... My party of 12 had a fantastic time. The beers and food were all great. The pizzas were fantastic. Josh, our server was excellent. He couldn't have taken care of us any better. I recommend this place for a group Larry/dinner/event wholeheartedly. I will return. Lively and loud indoors. Live musician was good. Hopefully next time it won't rain and the outdoor area can be utilized.

Dave H.

Yelp
Good spot but what happened to the size of the pizza? It used to be much larger(same size as the pan). It's now significantly thinner and smaller, but priced the same.

Katie N.

Yelp
Cute place! They have an excellent beer selection from hoppy to sours. Pizza was decent and not too greasy. Plenty of clean bathrooms.

Alicia C.

Yelp
Fun hangout spot with all the modern fixings of a great and versatile brewery (sours, eclectic branding, and a generous food menu). I got the Parlor Trick: Mango Sherbet -- was a mild sour. Didn't really get a lot of mango notes, but it was easy to drink. For food, got the olives and the Shifty pizza. Olives were a great value -- honestly maybe too many for two people. Very sour as well, so might want to pair with something else for apps. Pizza was great! Loved the hot honey on ricotta and how bready the dough was. Would say it was more Sicilian than Detroit style though. Ambience: Really loud, really crowded on a Friday night. We did not make a reservation and they said they were only honoring reservations for the tables but we could hang out at the bar and wait for seats to open up there. That worked pretty well and took about 15-20 minutes for 2 seats to open up (5:30pm on a Friday night). The bar has TVs for a sports bar setup. Crowd looked like mostly young professionals. They had gender neutral bathrooms and a privacy room for nursing mothers. I had a great time here and while it was crowded, atmosphere was nice and buzzing and everything I had was tasty. Definitely come check this place out!

Painty P.

Yelp
First time visitors. Very large, mostly hard-surfaced interior. Some outdoor seating the but area looks terrible, especially compared to the place next door (Alcove) with a really nice outdoor section. Had a reservation, plenty of empty seats but they put 4 of us directly next to a server station where servers were standing literally 2 feet away to put in orders and chat (no partition between us). We asked to move tables, and got a table with wobbly legs. Which we noticed the next table did too (you can see the table leg pads broken off); furniture is cheap and in poor repair. And the server put us right next to a large table with several toddlers - guess they decided to punish us for asking for a swap. Beer list as way too many IPAs on it, but a couple of other beers were good. Wings were rubbery and didn't like sauce. Pretzel good, but again mustard not great. Liked the Poke Nachos! Two people had salads they liked. I can't say much about the beer, it was good - but I disliked most of the rest of the experience and would not go back.

Doris P.

Yelp
I had a fun time here when I was in Boston with friends during Memorial Day weekend. They have many beers on tap and so many selections of drinks. All our drinks were good. The service was good and our serve made sure to check in with us every now and then. They have tv screens to watch games and many seats spread out throughout the establishment. They have outdoor seating as well. The only downside is that we were hoping they had board games and something to do other than just drink or eat. The bathrooms were also co-ed which was interesting but the decor was very pretty. We didn't get to try their food except truffle fries, very good!

Haley I.

Yelp
Excellent atmosphere! Inside is massive - tons of seating. Neat artwork. Amazing patio with a view of the water. Very cool. We tried lots of things! The pretzel was delicious but it was small. The mustard sauce had a great flavor but it was very liquidy. The wings were good. Loved the dipping sauce. A bit pricey ($14) for ~5 wings. They are the whole wing though. Nashville hot chicken sandwich - as a midwesterner I can say this was not Nashville hot chicken. It was delicious, but definitely would rename it to just a spicy chicken sandwich. The hot honey was a nice addition. The fries were great! Tons of them too. THE PIZZAAAA. Seriously just skip everything else and get all of the pizzas. The Honky Tonk was so freaking good. My only regret is I wasn't able to try them all!

Jen C.

Yelp
I came with 2 friends on a Wednesday afternoon, which also happened to be the Celtics home game (so it was packed). Luckily, we had a reservation. We ordered The Green Mile and the Forager pizzas along with a basket of truffle fries. For drinks, I ordered the Berry Blast hard seltzer and Cherry Apricot Twister. The truffle fries came in a HUGE basket and I dug in as soon as it came to the table - super delicious and addicting! Both pizzas were very good, however The Green Mile was my favorite of the two. I enjoyed the cherry apricot twister - it wasn't as sour as I was anticipating. However, the berry blast seltzer was definitely not something I would order again. Overall, my friends and I had a great experience and we'll definitely return for the truffle fries!

Sasi M.

Yelp
Excellent beer, good food and great views. That sums it all up. Top it off with friendly hosts and pleasant service, and you have yourself the perfect evening. Most breweries tend to focus just on the drinks and food is almost an afterthought. However, this location had a good selection of tasty, fresh food options in addition to their own beer selection on tap. The pizza was a good size, the wings were perfectly cooked, and their DUA DIPA is an excellent NE style IPA. They're kid-friendly and provided separate chairs, menu and water cups for the kids. There's considerable space inside and outside, and is setup well for both small and larger groups.

Alex B.

Yelp
I saw this place while walking to Charlestown and admired the view. I had been looking for a place to stop for some local brews and this fit the bill, so upon returning from seeing the USS Constitution and the Bunker Hill monument, I checked it out. The bar was open, so I sat down and caught up on some sports. The staff was nice, and took great care of me when I was ready to order. I asked for bartender's recommendation between the chips and the pretzel since I was only looking for something light to eat, and she recommended the latter. I went ahead and ordered the Nite Lite Lager to go along with it to start. The pretzel was pretty standard fare, but if you like big fluffy, salty pretzels like me, it was the perfect thing for the moment. The honey mustard served with it took it to the next level. It wasn't what I think of your typical condiment, but had a bit of a horseradish-style bite to it combined with the sweetness of the honey that made it very interesting to the palate. The lager was very refreshing and was definitely one of the tastier lighter lagers that I've had over the many breweries I've been to. I'd happy purchase it in stores if I ever see it locally back home. The cider was on the drier side for those who prefer it that way, but was very tasty. Luckily this place has a little something for anyone. Coming here on a beautiful day like this past Sunday makes it amazing with the view out on the water and plenty more nearby. If you're in the area, I definitely recommend this place.

JM B.

Yelp
Good food, nice atmosphere- definitely light on serving staff. The wait was lengthy on food and refilling the beers. Overall good experience since the food was good & our party was excited to socialize.

Colleen L.

Yelp
Wings were not great. The taste was funny... wish there were more flavors. Waste of money unfortunately. Waitor seemed very overwhelmed. I am not sure yet if I'll go back....

Kristen Z.

Yelp
Just ate dinner there and our service was absolutely horrendous. Our waiter was never around, never asked if we wanted more drinks nor did he ever check on us once during dinner. All the servers were sitting at a table with who liked the manager doing nothing. Our waiter disappeared all the time. To boot they canceled our reservation on operable so we couldn't leave a review on there. Very disappointing with regards to the service. Pizza was good
