The Best Afternoon Tea in the San Francisco Bay Area | Eater SF

"From the same owners at Lovejoy’s in San Francisco, baby sibling Lovey’s in Pacifica also offers tea, scones, sandwiches, and mismatched doilies, but with much easier parking just off Highway One. Afternoon tea is offered on certain days, with reservations required, but as the website notes, there is a “more casual walk-up menu” available for an afternoon pick-me-up." - Dianne de Guzman

Quaint tea shoppe with two friendly women were working there today. We had no reservation but they were able to accommodate us just fine. Luckily the weather was ok to sit outside. Inside is very tiny and seating would be for a few groups of 3 people at best. The ambiance is cute and a little shabby but it has charm. It's like an old fashioned tea cup shop with lovely things to buy too. Much to appreciate beyond the worn yet cute esthetic. The food is good, not fancy, not gourmet or like grandma's either. I'd say it's like a good little bite, tasty, satisfying and definitely worth a try. The warm welcome and continuous smiles will be remembered. I always appreciate a welcoming establishment. I will tell you that you are busing your own table outside and I don't believe that anyone came back to see if any additional service was needed. I felt content and most things that you might need were all with in reach. This is not a royal tea experience. It's a quaint old mom and pop establishment with friendly people. Don't come here expecting a high tea experience this is not the place. I will say I would go back. I really had a great time.

Hands down no other tea place holds a candle to Loveys Tea Shoppe run by its wonderful owner, Gillian! As a family, we have prioritized celebrating many milestones and holidays/birthdays within her tea room. Whenever we visit, we feel quite welcomed and treated so well! The ambiance is exceptionally cozy and relaxing. Best sandwiches, scones, and sweet treats I have ever had, so delicious! Wonderful selection of teas as well. We can't thank Gillian and her staff enough for all that they do! If you are a tea enthusiast and are looking for a great place for tea this is it!

This has always been one of favorite places to patronize, despite the fact that we no longer live in the area we are more than happy to make the trek. The staff have always been amazing, accommodating, welcoming, and made us feel like VIPs. This is such a gem to enjoy quality tea, food, and atmosphere in such a quaint place. The selection of teas varies by season with a wealth of standing options warm and iced all at your fingertips. We love Lovey’s and will continue to make our trek from 3 1/2 hours away to enjoy this gem in Pacifica! Thank you!

Every time I visit northern California, Lovey's Tea Shoppe is on my agenda! It is in a beautiful location with both indoor and outdoor seating. The tea sets are charmingly mismatched, the decor is perfectly cozy and the sandwiches, bakery and tea are delicious. The owner is always so friendly and generous of spirit. I always have to explore the little gift shop, and when I am home in Wisconsin, I order gift packages for myself and as gifts. Truly a gem!

Google
What a gem. We thoroughly enjoyed our tea and sandwiches. The atmosphere is quirky and delightful. We sat inside for warmth, but the outside seating area had a beautiful view and a similar character. The service was super friendly as well. Highly recommended stop on the coast. I can't believe it took me this long to discover it.

Google
An adorable and authentic tea shop! After becoming obsessed with tea houses on a trip to the UK, I visited Lovey's and was impressed with how much it reminded me of tea time overseas. The tea selection is massive, their scones are out of this world, and the whole shop has an adorable and cozy atmosphere. This place is definitely worth a stop!

Lovey's Tea Shoppe is a great tea house. I loved the atmosphere, it's so charming and lovely. The tea is fantastic, the scones were so delicious, the sandwiches were also really good. I came here with my friends and we had an amazing time. It's a great date spot. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming!!

I loved everything about this tea place. Me and my few girl friends came on Friday for high tea and everything was perfect . We each got different types of tea . I got white peach which was amazing with unlimited refill . The sandwiches were delicious and so as scones. Service was great , the ladies were attentive and friendly . We loved the little shop inside where they sell cutest tea pots, cups , teas , scones etc . I ended up getting lychee rose green tea to enjoy at home .

Yelp
This lovely tea shop is charming. Gideon, a lovely lady makes the best scones ever! The shop is charming, and we had tea on their patio long ago. The scones and clotted cream are amazing. The 6 pack of scones are $19 and are the best scones you'll ever taste. Come and try it! Brian & Joyce Granville All the way from Antioch. We always stop here when we visit a friend in Moss Beach! A nice getaway!

Yelp
Went for tea service with a few friends. The atmosphere is shabby but not chic. The mismatched cups, saucers and tea pots are charming. The tea options are excellent with something for every taste. The food was traditional English tea food and rather uninspired. The lemon curd was very good. The rest was ok. The chance to chat and sit and enjoy each other's company in an inrushes manner was delightful. The price of $50/person sans tip seemed a bit steep but that is the Peninsula these days. I won't rush back but it was a fun experience and now my curiosity has been met.

Yelp
A quaint little old fashioned British tea shop off the highway that's a definite stop if you're on a road-trip. Reservations are recommended but not required and walk ins are welcome if they' have space. We had their tea sandwich platter with a couple of other extras and deliciousness was in full effect! They have a nice selection of teas and some flavors I haven't seen before so now it's an excuse to come back. In addition to the full service tea they also cater to the kiddos with their Wee Tea service. They have outdoor seating as well and this is first come first serve. Overall it was a nice little experience and their service was good. And that's my take, Peace...

Yelp
A cute, quaint place to have afternoon tea in Pacifica right off the Coastal Highway 1. I've been to the SF location and used to frequent the Redwood City until they closed August 2021. Glad to have an opportunity to bring a friend to enjoy a relaxing treat: Tea sandwiches * Cucumber with Dill Cream Cheese * Roast Beef & Horseradish * Bay Shrimp & Mayonnaise * Green Apple w/ Cheddar & Marionberry Jam delicious scones, crumpet and finish off with a sweet treat of spiced petit four. So happy to know the owner, Gina who operated the Redwood City location own this cute spot! Always accommodating with my online orders, responsive, hospitable and very friendly. There was another person there helping today and she was so sweet and explained everything as items served. Thank you! :) Pricing reasonable and highly recommend a stop to enjoy simple and light, yet satisfying treats...items are available to go with tea packages and scones available online. Plan ahead and make it a trip to Pacifica for afternoon tea, peruse Downtown, walk the Municipal Pier, or go for a 1.5 tour of Mazza Castle about 10 mins away. You'll learn some local history and see some wonderful views. Make arrangements for tea and the tour online beforehand :)

Yelp
I was looking for some loose leaf Earl Grey. I was thinking about World Market and then realized we have a tea shot right in Pacifica. I was able to buy the tea online and then pick it up the next day they were open. The tea it makes is very rich and seems high quality. I will be back!

Yelp
Had our first Mommy/Daughter tea time here and it was perfect! Service was excellent, food was good, tea was lovely. The place itself is quite small, cute and cozy, but glad to have found a reservation and prepaid on their website about a week before. We were there for about an hour and half. My faves were the warm scone and salmon tea sandwich. My mini-me's fave was the Nutella sandwich (of course), strawberries, and paired with regular milk (she opted out of the hot chocolate). Would def come back!

Yelp
If I could provide more than 5-stars I would! We love this place and made the trek from Visalia to Pacifica to enjoy this out of this world location near Rockaway Beach. The ambiance here is very quaint, like walking into your grandmothers house and you have no idea the kind of adventure you are about to experience. We have been coming here for years, yesterday we joined their flower pressing workshop, this was an absolute wonderful experience to work up an appetite. Flowers that have been dried and pressed into glass create a wonderful keepsake to take home. The staff here were excellent and made us feel right at home; their tea selection is outstanding, their Mint raspberry was decadent and light, and the right amount of chocolate flavor! Their sandwiches we could not wrong, all their finger food are made and served with tea. They also offer iced teas if hot tea is not your thing; we loved their Pacifica Blue tea! The service is wonderful, so much attention to detail, a huge shout out to the two ladies that made our family outing here 5-Stars Plus! They knew we might have been late due to traffic and amazingly we made it on time; they still made us feel special along with the groups that kept arriving after us. Truly, this place is must, they have the best scones anywhere and their British double cream, wow I'm getting hungry again, I'll have to let that one marinate with all of you! Enjoy! Thank you again ladies! Truly a wonderful experience, and we'll be back!

Yelp
Although this tea time was very casual, it provided everything that you would expect. At $25 per person it was very affordable & everything was delicious!

Yelp
Very cute and cozy (read: tiny) tea shop serving high tea in Pacifica. You book a tea time online for Fridays, Saturdays, and occasionally on Thursdays or Sundays (depending on time of year). There are usually 2 seatings: 11:00am and 2:00pm. And it's typically $50 for 4 savory tea sandwiches, green salad mix, scone with clotted cream and jam, buttered crumpet, and one sweet from a selection of cookies or mini-cakes--taxes and gratuity included in the $50. The sandwiches are fine--nothing spectacular or particular: a thin slice of roast beef with horseradish mayo, cucumber and cream cheese, cheddar and apple, and I think there was a smoked salmon one. The scone by far was the star--we had a choice of currant or lemon ginger. Warm and very tender, paired perfectly with the clotted cream and raspberry jam. The crumpet was OK--a bit tough and could have risen a bit more. The cookie from the sweets selection was a standard sugar cookie that had cute decorations. Tea selection was pretty extensive. I enjoyed my jasmine green tea, but my companion thought her Darjeeling was a bit weak. The interior is charming, like grandma's parlor with its wallpaper print and ceramic tea ware. It's a quite a small space, which probably could fit about 10-12 people in total. The value is pretty good! No one left feeling hungry, and we enjoyed our time there, nibbling and sipping and conversing. Would definitely come back for small group outings!

Yelp
Lovey's is more like a cafe with bland food than a proper tea shop. As other reviewers have mentioned, if you're a walk-in customer, you order at the counter, and they bring you "afternoon tea" in disposable paper cups and plastic platters. Apparently you need a reservation to get cute china tea cups. This is incredibly disappointing because china is frankly what makes afternoon tea feel like afternoon tea. The paper cups just felt super tacky. My friends and I were the only customers in the shop for a while, so it wasn't like they didn't have the time/resources to offer real service. On the plus side, their walk-in menu is cheaper than their full service menu (because you get less food). The food was all right. The sandwiches tasted like air, but the scones were warm and buttery. I did get hungry about half an hour later, and I'm not a particularly big eater. If you decide to go here, I'd recommend eating a lot beforehand. I'm vegan now so I probably won't go out for afternoon tea again. But if I did, Lovey's would be the last place I'd choose. And I've been to some mediocre places (Leland's, Crown & Crumpet). Lovey's is owned by the same people who own Lovejoy's (I think??) but for some reason Lovejoy's is a million times better.... Two stars because the staff was friendly and the decor was cute.

Yelp
Open only on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 11 am-4 pm. Looked online to see if I could reserve an "Afternoon Tea Time" but only doing "Walk-Ups" no reservations needed. When we entered the store at 11 am. We were shown the daily menu on the wall to the right of the cash register along with tea choices. We got the chicken salad and 2 tea sandwiches 1 ham and apricot jam and the other cucumber with cream cheese. Came with tea and a scone. Purchased separately a sugar cookie. Sat down inside at the only 4 seater table that had a wrinkled linen tablecloth. A bit crowded with 3 other 2 seater tables. (Outside was cold and noisy traffic) When our tea came out we couldn't believe it came in a brown paper cup. Aksed if we could get a porcelain tea cup and was told they don't serve anything with china on "Walk-up" Days but you can purchase one that ranges from $3-5 dollars and wash it for you. So we did that and came home with a souvenir. lol When our chicken salad came it was served on a clear plastic platter. The chicken in the salad was disappointing and did not taste good at all! The dressing and greens were good. Next came the tea sandwiches. Ham one was not very tasty but the cucumber one was good. Last was the scone shaped like a circle and one seemed not cooked all the way through and they tasted like cornmeal. The jam was good and the sugar cookie was the best! One other thing was our tea got cold towards the end and we never got asked if we wanted more hot water. Oh well, the place has a lot of potential but next trip we will have to pass on tea time or just stop for the cookies:)

Yelp
A much abbreviated but no less.a charming version of the Lovejoy tea shops in San Francisco. The walk-up menus are more casual. Cozy indoor seating and outdoor patio-like seating are also available. Much more casual and aligned with the locale.

Yelp
It is always wonderful going to Lovey's for high tea. The food and teas are wonderful, the shoppe is very cut and charming and the service is always wonderful. Gillian and her tea room have been part of our families shared memories and many milestones have been celebrated there.
google avatar

Aarie C.

Yelp
Like others, I was disappointed with the tea being served in disposable cups, accoutrements in plastic, and plates being replaced by takeout containers. Call me hoity toity, but "Queen's Service" without a tiered treat stand or ceramic cups was perplexing, especially considering that they have loads of china for sale in their shop. Are they a thrift store that happens to serve tea? Sandwiches were dainty enough and the petit fours were cute though. The patio is cute, although unpleasantly smushed between the highway and a dirt road leading to an apartment building's parking lot. I guess we were just lucky to have been able to eat here considering the inconsistent hours?

Yelp
FINALLY got to swing by after driving by it for years, and already can't wait to go back. First off, the staff was LOVELY. Super helpful with recommendations and very accommodating. The scones were soft and crumbly, raspberry preserves were delicious and the clotted cream was great. We got the cucumber and dill, and salmon and capers sandwiches - both were great. My only gripe was with how the tea is served. I think there's a difference in types of service because I read a few signs talking about times for different service. We got two different types of tea to try but they were served in MASSIVE to go cups. It was hard to accurately portion sugar and milk and it ended up getting cold quickly. I definitely plan on coming back and will probably just ask for a smaller cup. Overall very nice with a cute outdoor seating and sweet gifts up front.

Yelp
I have been going to Lovey's Tea Shopp for years. In my opinion it is the gold standard of tea rooms par excellence. My wife and I have tried tearooms around the state and around the world. Lovey's is the tearoom by which we judge all others.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been a loyal customer of the owner, Gillian, since I was in high school (over 30 years) - across Lovejoy's and now Lovey's - and have finally decided I can no longer tolerate her nasty attitude without compromising myself. And, I am not the only one to mention this. Lovejoy's was eventually sold and I feel Gillian should do the same with Lovey's. The quality and quantity of food has gone down downhill, and I've been willing to turn a blind eye in order to have a fun, nostalgic tea experience, but I can no longer tolerate giving my hard earned money to someone who does not treat their customers with decency and baseline respect. It's very unfortunate.

Yelp
What a charming tea house and tea shoppe in Pacifica. The eclectic atmosphere and mix-matched settings add to the cuteness. My friend and I came to celebrate her birthday. The tea selection was ample with lots of varieties to temp your taste. The teared tea sandwiches, and fresh spring salad were enjoyed. We loved the scones which we had a choice of variety... the crumpet with heart shaped butter pat. The service was attentive and friendly. The shoppe filled with lots of teas to purchase, tea accessories and fun gift items. It's a great place to share a pot of tea. There is indoor and outdoor patio seating. Reservations can be made online to ensure a place is set for you.

Jayme D.

Yelp
Stopped in for tea and was disappointed at the disposable cups and tray of stodgy tea sandwiches. We thought it strange that we had to have reservations to get real teacups and a real pot of tea. Such a tacky arrangement for paying customers and makes no sense. I mean spending more than 50 bucks for paper cups. The proprietors obviously have no sense of ambience which is dismal cause the place has potential. The scones are perfect and delicious, the tea was tasty and better than most. Not sure I would stop in again, not memorable enough. Lastly, again for ambience the staff might want to rethink their wardrobe. Jeans and t-shirts really distracted from the English tea theme.

Yelp
After dining at several English Tea rooms in the Bay Area, Lovey's is by far the best experience we've had. 5 star all around - Quality of Food Level of Service Variety of Menu Options Amount of Food Flavor Ability to Customize Order Ambiance

Yelp
Cute lil tea shop. Chestnut tea was so good! Literally smells like milk tea without the sugar. Who knew English tea could be better than the boba shop/Asian tea. The little sandwiches were nice to snack on. Def a cute place to go with your friends/live out ur tea time fantasies without being super Bougie. Service was standard -- I wish the tea was served in some tea ware but am glad I got a full big cup with their current layout.

Yelp
My team of 7 had the Royal Afternoon Tea on a Friday afternoon for a team building event. It was the talk of the office! We had an absolutely fabulous time with Gina and Gillian. The food was delicious and we felt well taken care of. The tea blending workshop was awesome and we learned so much! Can't wait to come back with the entire company in the future!

Yelp
I came here on a hot, sunny Sunday afternoon with my mom. We had just walked from the beach and needed something to cool us down. This place caught my eye and reading the reviews from Yelp got me even more curious. The place is cute and quaint inside and I'm glad we decided to come in. It was great to have some rest from our walk and my mom appreciated the fact that she could sit down. We were greeted at the door when we entered despite the fact that she was busy with guests. The customer service was so nice. The personnel gave suggestions to what would be good and was very accommodating. The berry tea had mint and berries with it. It was very refreshing. Everything came out warm and placed beautifully on a tray. The crumpets are delicious with the fresh lemon curd. The blank currant scones were amazing with the heavy cream and jam. The other scone was lemon something. Thought it was still good, I preferred the blank currant. I would love to come back again to try other things.

Yelp
Gotta love Lovey's! Charming and quaint. Came here twice... once with a group of friends and the other time with mom, aunt and sister. Both times were fun and memorable experiences. Fabulous teas and bites!

Yelp
The tea was amazing. If it's available, I recommend the pea flower tea. Not only is it blue, but it's delicate flavor is so soothing and light. The owners are wonderful and the service was great.

Yelp
This is my first high tea/tea party experience and I absolutely loved it. This establishment is so pretty, fun, and unique. I enjoyed the entire experience from start to finish. The staff is lovely, the tea leaf reader was insightful, The teas were delightful, food and desserts delicious. I look forward to bringing my mom, daughters, and sisters here next time!

Yelp
Absolutely everything about this place is a delight, from the ease of online ordering, to the helpfulness of the staff, to the deliciousness of the tea and food. I placed an online order in advance for their tea for one. I chose their ham sandwiches, strawberry and cream cheese sandwiches, and chocolate tea. I indicated to warm up my scone and tea. The shop was easy to find with ample parking. There was a bit of a wait to pick up my order as the shop was a bit busy. When my order was brought out beautifully wrapped on a tea tray with dried flowers, I was flummoxed. I am used to take out orders being thrown haphazardly into a bag, and was planning to just eat said bag food in my car. This was a whole presentation. The shop assistant noticed my flabbergasted state and gently walked me through how to best set up my tea, indicating that future orders could be bagged if needed. But at this point, I was all in. Being from out of town, I took my tea to a nearby beach, set up shop on a small cliff, and enjoyed a transcendent experience of tea by the sea. In my reverie, I'd forgotten to grab a fork and so I didn't get to enjoy the salad. But everything else was an absolute delight. In particular, I am still dreaming about my scone. If you enjoy tea, or just want a comforting yet elevated experience, this place is a can't-miss.

Yelp
My bestie and I had our afternoon tea here back in late September, and it was a lovely experience. She knew that I had Lovey's bookmarked for awhile, but haven't gotten the chance to try them out yet. So she made a reservation for us with ordering ahead the items that we were going to have. I chose the rose tea which was pretty lovely tasting. I remember she got coffee instead of tea that day. Upon arriving there, I really need to use the restroom so the lady gave me the key and told me direction of the restroom. It's so cute inside there! And clean too! Our tea set was served in a silver plastic-y but elegant platter. It's supposed to be like a one time used type of dishware, but I took it home anyways because I thought maybe my mom would want to reuse it. ? Lol Service was friendly and attentive. We had a lovely experience there, and the food was delish. :)

Yelp
Once a month, I travel to Pacifica, CA to visit a little tea house called Lovey's Tea Shop, located 3 short blocks from Rockaway Beach. The tiny tea house is full of cute little knickknacks to purchase and the two ladies that own the place, always welcome me with a warm smile. Once I get seated at a table for two, I order their "Healthy Tea" with my usual alterations: smoked salmon, no salad dressing or citrus fruit, extra cheese and a side of their coleslaw. Tea-wise, they have one of the largest tea selections I've ever seen! I usually blend two different flavors together for a more interesting brew. Some of my favorite blends are: Spiced Citrus and Chocolate Chip black teas Hazelnut and Strawberry black teas Peach and Strawberry white teas Since my last visit was close to the Christmas season, I was able to blend Candy Cane and Chocolate Chip black teas together. This tea blend tasted like Christmas in my teacup - peppermint and chocolate. The aroma of the tea in my teacup had visions of chocolate covered candy canes dancing in my head... If you are ever in Pacifica, CA and want to try a unique place to have a healthy or traditional High Tea, be sure to visit Lovey's Tea Shop.

Dot M.

Yelp
Oh gosh, where do I begin?! This local gem deserves and extra star. Everything is FRESH with handmade jam from a local vendor. My personal fave is the traditional cucumber sandwich, but the egg salad is another favorite (has capers and a little bite to it which is delish!) If you want a sweet sandwich, try the mandarin or strawberry. The sandwiches do change seasonally and there is a ham sandwich with rosemary prosecco orange jam that I miss, so I am hoping that comes back soon, I think it's now mango chutney instead (still yummy!) Hand blended teas are not just for enjoying while visiting: you must buy the samples and try them at home! I love the samples and steeping my own tea now. The lady gray is AMAZING! If you want to try an old school tea like they dumped in the Boston Harbor, they have it (can't think of the name of it, but it's a smoky tea and highly unusual.) I also love the white peach; pomm green tea; china rose, and seriously, I can't even name them all. And, while you're savoring the meal and thinking about your next tea experience, check out their special events. They've done all sorts of classes too. The shop also sells china and many other items. If you want to pick up a new habit, get a teapot, tea cup, strainer and some samples. Super helpful and friendly. Local tip, book your tea in advance. It's popular and a very small spot with only a few tables. If you can't get a seat inside, depending on weather you can dine outside. You can also order takeout. I love the takeout and breaking out the finery at home. Had a friend over yesterday and she loved it. Photo was from a takeout during the pandemic. Fun habit, I LOVE Loveys!

Yelp
I first visited Lovey's Tea Shoppe as a young girl about 10 years ago when they opened and I remember having the best experience! I was in town after Mother's Day, and decided to take my mom for a belated afternoon tea celebration. It was as good as I remember it if not better!! Both ladies working were so nice and attentive. I loved all the little knickknacks on the walls and table settings. The tea and finger sandwiches were delicious! I think the little marzipan desserts were my favorite at the end. I definitely will be coming back much sooner than another 10 years :)
google avatar

Jon Ernest B.

Yelp
My family was going into the tea shop. The lady at the front did not respond nor pay attention to my family. Since they weren't served at the front, they just found a seat and sat down. She then walked up to my family and caused a scene at the restaurant, yelling at them because they didn't order, even though she did not serve them at the front. I'm writing this because my family deserves respect, and does not deserve this type of poor treatment.

Yelp
So if I have a craving for English tea and scones, petit fours, crumpets and finger sandwiches, I go the Lovey's! Their food and teas are delicious! . The owners Muna and Gillian are the best!! They are the best tea shoppe in CA!!!

Yelp
I've been here a few times and always had a great experience! The scones are to die for! The sandwiches are so good too! The owner is a really nice lady and she has created a wonderful friendly environment!

Yelp
I took my sister for afternoon tea for her birthday. It was a really nice experience! The choice of teas was amazing, the assortment of delicacies yummy, and the service impeccable.

Yelp
If you want to have a quick afternoon tea bite, this is the place! The sandwiches and tea were delicious. One update- they no longer have their high tea menu, only their basic menu. Their tea selection is exactly the same. It's a very quaint space with limited seating so arrive early! We were so lucky to also be able to check out several local small businesses that were hosted right outside the shoppe. I ate everything before I even remembered to take a picture

Yelp
This is a very charming tea shop located right off Highway 1 in Pacifica. This is very similar to Lovejoy's in Redwood City, as a matter of fact, they feature the same menu. However the biggest difference is location; the ocean breeze, the brightness and the airiness of the tea salon. The tea room is like a large open dining room in a old Victorian home--it's quiet airy inside, with a very cozy feel. Large, small & medium tables to accommodate small to large tea parties. We came here for a special farewell for a friend who was moving out of the country. The staff surprised us with a special treat for the guest of honor--totally unexpected and very nice of them. The menu offers the standard afternoon tea fare--different levels, for light appetites or a full blown afternoon tea set complete with mini sandwiches, fresh fruits, salad, scone and a crumpet with preserves, clotted cream & lemon curd. A platter of deliciousness! If afternoon tea isn't your thing, you can order sausage rolls, shepherd's pie, salad, scones or crumpets. It is worth the trek to Pacifica for afternoon tea. While this place didn't appear to be quite busy on the day of our visit, I would still recommend making reservations.

Yelp
Our family greatly enjoyed meeting at Lovey's for tea & scones (and more!) all through the Covid years - it was a wonderful way to enjoy each other's company, even my son's dog, on their patio savoring tasty tea and great food. This summer, Lovey's was the caterer for our daughter's bridal shower in our backyard. Gillian was so helpful in collaboratively planning what to serve, how much we would need, and providing the beautiful china tea pots and tiered serving trays for each table. Her pricing was very reasonable. The multi-generational group all loved their "afternoon tea party." I highly recommend stopping at Lovey's for a formal tea, and informal tea on their patio, and to consider them for catering your next afternoon tea!

Yelp
Cute shop. Love all the variety of loose leaf teas. Since it's Covid times, there is only outdoor sandwich seating. A bit noisy from the car traffic and dust coming out. Love all the pots. Sandwiches were okay. Beware the floor in the patio area is a bit cracked and you may accidentally trip over.

Yelp
It was my first time at Lovey's and I loved it so much. The staff were so nice and the place is so quaint. Six of us made a reservation and the inside was just big enough to fit us all. We had the full afternoon tea service with the finger sandwiches, our own pots of tea (bottom less!), crumpets, scones and petit fours. Their tea selection is extensive with both caffeine and decaf options. They also have tea cup sets and tea for sale in their little shop. Would love to come back!

Yelp
My little girl and I LOVE this place. She's only 2 but she loves going to High Tea and we've been taking a tour of all of the tea shops in the city and Peninsula. So far, Lovey's is one of our faves. The women who work here provide outstanding service. I love how quaint it is and the sandwiches and tea are delicious. Their decaf black lavender tea is our absolute fave. The next time we stop by, we're definitely buying some of this to take home. We usually get the queen's tea because it has a little bit of everything and you're definitely getting the most bang for your buck with this choice. If we're really hungry, we'll order an extra sandwich or two or order a sausage roll. Make reservations if you want your own table. We usually stroll in during opening and sit in their community table. I highly recommend Lovey's! Great place for high tea and the ladies who run this place are amazing.

Yelp
Two years ago my girlfriend and I came here on a whim while driving up and down Highway 101. We walked in and immediately fell in love with the place. We both love tea, and its awesome that its loose leaf! At the time, she and I were not dating. We return today together, enjoying a meal together as a couple. The things that stand out to me the most about this place are the customer service, and the products. Everything from their looseleaf tea, to their baked goods, and their hospitality makes you want to come back! I would probably rent out an Air BnB if they had one. And I would not be surprised if they did have one. Everything here is home, even though my home looks nothing like this. If you're reading this review and are looking for a place to go that is far away from coffee shops, Internet cafés, or just a busy city, I invite you to come to Lovey's tea shoppe. You're guaranteed to feel good here.

Yelp
We've tried different tea places through the years but Lovey's is my gold standard! During these pandemic times, they're offering outdoor dining but we've mainly stayed with takeaway. If you're craving scrumptious tea sandwiches, crumpets, scones, and a soothing pot of tea, this is the place for you! It's easy to order and pay through their website. Pick-up is very easy with parking in front. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Cute little tea shop in Pacifica with food and trinkets for sale. They had an event so we couldn't sit inside but they have outside seating! Service was very friendly and helpful!

Yelp
What a magical charming location in Pacifica! The owners are such lovely women, and customer service is their #1 priority. Support local + women businesses ~ score! The tea for two is always the way to go, as you get to choose from a variety of sandwiches and two bottomless pots of tea. They make the best scones, and the 3-tiered stand will display all these delightful bites beautifully. At times, they're too adorable to eat...who am I kidding! We scarfed them down so quick, we ordered more scones ~ perhaps another tier next time j/k. Dessert is a must-have, from truffles to petit fours all made with love. They have two other locations in the Bay Area, one in SF (Lovejoy's Tea Room). I'd rather not stress over parking. Another location in Redwood City, and they're working on a fourth location in Oregon coming soon. Can't wait to come back! 'Til next time ~ keep calm, drink tea and see you on Yelp (SYOY)!

Yelp
We ordered scones and crumpets ahead of time and picked them up On our way out heading back to Castro Valley. Glad we had them on our list as we enjoyed them immensely when we got home. The lemon curd and the cream Added extra yummy to the scones and crumpets. The bag presentation wrapped carefully and beautifully was a bonus. I have had their tea in the past and it was a great selection fresh and delicious. If you haven't tried it book an appointment or order online and you will be glad you did it's well worth it. Bon appétit
