Where to Get Satisfying Salads in San Diego - Eater San Diego

"Loving Hut lost no abundance when translating their Heavenly Salad to takeout. The clear clam shell bursts with shredded cabbage, carrots, onions, and bell pepper with thin strips of fried tofu and soy protein, a handful of Vietnamese mints (like pepper and fish mint), and crushed peanuts with tamarind-spiced sweet and sour dressing." - Kelly Bone

20 Vegan Burgers To Try in San Diego - Eater San Diego

"Though steaming bowls of pho and cool summer rolls dominate the menu at Loving Hut on El Cajon Blvd., the American dishes do not pander to timid tastes. The house-made mushroom patty of the Loving Hut Burger comes smothered in thick oyster mushroom sauce, cupped by iceberg lettuce with tomatoes, pickles, onions, and more sauteed mushrooms. Served with a pile of fries, this is one of the best veggie burger bargains in the city." - Kelly Bone

Okay, I liked the Loving Hut I went to in San Francisco and thought this one in San Diego would be similar. It wasn’t. The food was tasty but didn’t stand out in any particular way. The service was poor. The cashier hardly engaged the customers unless asked to. I had to ask for water, dishes and a serving spoon - things that should just be usually done. Then the floor was sticky as if mopped with dirty water. Not going back. So disappointed for a what could be a great place for vegans.

Google
Heard good things about it. Went to try it. Empty place. Dirty kitchen. Saw red flags but still decided to order. They served old microwave food, yucky. Overpriced for disgusting stuff. $9 for a single piece of fried oyster Mushroom. Danny at register was chill. He was quick to help out.

Google
I ordered on uber eats so can’t speak on atmosphere & service too much but if you are going to order or eat in listen to me! I spent 40 mins combing through reviews. I decided to order the garlic noodles with the shrimp & the Mongolian beef. I wanted to try it for myself but could’ve used the advice of one review let me just say it lacks flavor and not that much garlicky. It’s literally noodles nothing special. The shrimp however is good and seasoned nice. Someone said it reminded them of imitation fish meat that’s spot on. Tastes good to me. Now the beef lacks flavor I really was thinking I was going to get saucy WELL seasoned food. Nope. That’s disappointing. The noodles came with a free Thai tea that is ok. I ended up spending near 50$. For the noodles to be around 16$ with a few shrimps is just not it. Charging for utensils crazy. Especially spending that kind of $. On top of charging for a little siracha pack still crazy. I put it in the details they didn’t give it to me. I wonder would the mock chicken meal have been more flavorful. Welp at least I can say I tried it.

Google
We stop here about once a month or so and always get bounce between our favorite spicy cha cha and the Bahn mi but everything is outstanding. The Bahn mi tastes just like you'd remember and the cha cha are faux shrimp that are equally convincing and delicious. In a strip mall of chains, this place is a jewel.

I got the Royal Noodle Soup! My husband got the crispy spring rolls and Cha Cha noodles! Everything was delicious 🍜🍜🍜

What a wonderful place. Great customer service and absolutely delicious food with excellent flavors. And I loved the plate presentation. They have a large selection of food dishes to choose from.

Yelp
Somewhere between a 3.5 and 4 stars. Service was efficient if not overly friendly. Broad menu means there's something for everyone. Clean restaurant. Standard portion sizes. I enjoyed their garlic chicken bowl and crispy veggie dumplings.

Yelp
This place used to be the best vegan in town with multiple locations but now things have changed over the years, I didn't visit for many years until today, and surprisingly they don't open early anymore, and on a Sunday it's even later, they started at 12 PM weekends and 11:30 AM weekdays with the exception of Monday because they will be closed. The menu seems to stay the same, so did the food quality, the differences are the prices and the way they serve them. I was told by the staff that everything will be in plastic containers and utensils, I don't know when they started doing it, but my guess was either Covid or they wanted to cut cost. At least when I ordered the noodles soup it came in an actual bowl, and it was steaming hot. Another change would be the decor on the wall, they used to put a wall of celebrities who are practicing or a long time vegan includes Ellen Degeneres and a few people now have been diseased. Also some Zen items and music with a tv screen showing some guru teaching about enlightenment; now everything was just simple, nothing against it, I just missed the old days

Yelp
The staff is super friendly and their food is so flavorful. They do their seasoning very well, especially for vegetarian dishes! I'm not even vegetarian and I love this place. Parking is great since there's a lot. I tried the Cha Cha Garlic Noodle and it's like the perfect balance between garlic, onion, and tanginess. It's super savory so I really recommend. My friend got the Garlic Butter Fried Rice and hers was amazing as well, perfectly spiced and seasoned. Highly recommend for anyone!

Yelp
I enjoyed the casual Oder at the counter service. It was not busy and the Latin girl behind the counter was kind and helpful. I couldn't decide what to order so I went with the appetizer sample. It was a generous portion that offered a tasty variety. This place is super casual and I would recommend it if you are looking for casual Asian vegan spot.

Yelp
Super disappointed. Showed up about 8:25 and was told that we could not dine in. We could only order to go. Frustrating as we had driven down from Oceanside to dine here with my mother. Love the vegan restaurant that we haven't been to in so long but who refuses dine in half an hour before closing? And we weren't the only people ordering.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and save your time, energy, and money coming to this place. Went here years ago, but decided to visit again since I was in town. It seems only visitors come to this place as I didn't see any locals whatsoever. It was completely dead. Only customers dining in was my partner and I and another table who was visiting out of state. Their open light was off so wasn't sure if they were open. Upon entering, we stated this to the worker and she said they're open. Trying to hint her that they should turn on their open sign, yet she still didn't get the message and their open sign remained off. Brenda was not friendly, and not welcoming. Did not smile and almost looked disappointed that customers walked in. Customer service here is nonexistent. They ask for a tip upon ordering, yet this place is not the type that's provides full service. You order at the counter, not at the table. Once you pay, they bring you the food. That's it. There were only two parties in the entire place but we had to keep ringing the bell at the front to get any kind of attention. Was not busy at all. It was horrible. Worker was hiding in the back the entire time and did not tend the front end of the restaurant to take care of customers. The entire duration of our stay, Brenda spent most of her time in the back hiding and arguing with the cook. Her and the cook speaking Spanish so loudly you can hear them shouting. Instead of hiding in the back, tend to your customers and ask if they need anything instead of yapping your mouth all day long. The restaurant just opened, yet no one was at the front minding the store. No service. Do not come here. Waste of money. The food was mediocre also. Not how I remembered it to be..

Yelp
Updating my review to write about my newest obsession with another menu item-- the cha cha garlic noodles. Very simple, basically garlicky lo mein noodles with a shrimp (?) meat substitute that has a hint of spiciness to it. It's so good and I always have enough left over for the next day. The taste is a little one-note, but if garlicky carbs is what you're craving it hits the spot. The lemongrass tofu and garlic noodles keep me coming back. The royal noodle soup is pretty good too, and it's a huge portion.

Yelp
I had the chance to check out this vegan franchise once again in El Cajon and it was a great experience overall! Customer Service: The staff here are friendly, attentive, and quick to help. Service like this definitely makes a difference! Atmosphere: It was surprisingly empty during lunch, which made for a calm dining experience. The decor and interior was clean and inviting. Menu: The menu is more extensive than the other locations I've visited offering a great variety of options to satisfy everyone. Picture menu items were helpful as well! Parking: Parking can be hit or miss. We got lucky, but the spaces are pretty tight, so be careful if you're driving a bigger car. Restroom: Could be cleaner, and the soap dispenser needs refilling, just a small detail, but worth noting. Food: The food is the real star! Everything was delicious. I brought my non-vegan co-workers, and they were blown away by how close the mock meats tasted to real meat. A definite win for introducing people to vegan options. Papaya heavenly salad- Asian inspired salad with shredded green papaya, cabbage, carrots, onions, bell pepper, tofu, soy protein, mints, peanuts with homemade sweet and sour dressing. It's refreshing, light, and filling! If you love salty and a slight bit of spice then this is a go to! It's a must get when I see it in the menu. Lucky Mongo -Chickenlike soy fillet tossed in Mongolian sauce with green onions with a side salad of lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, carrots with a light house dressing. It was plentiful and my co-worker enjoyed this and even had leftovers to take home. Fabulous Mongolian- Mongolian style sauce stir fry with textured soy slices mixed with red and green peppers, onions, green onions, celery and garnished with cilantro. Co-worker finished off her plate and enjoyed the dish. She agreed that she could've been fooled thinking it was real meat! Crispy Vegetable Dumplings -Devoured within seconds that I didn't have time to take a photo. LOL Crispy Chik Sandwich - Crispy soy chicken patty on a buttered toasted sesame seed bun with sriracha mayo sauce, pickles, onions and lettuce. Side of fries. The cleanest plate with no morsel left to be found! Overall, a solid spot for vegan food with a few minor areas for improvement. I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Haven't been here in years, the decor is more modern and cleaner looking. We got the Cha Cha Garlic noodles which had a nice rich umami flavor with garlic and peanut flavor, with 4 pieces of shrimp shaped fried tofu pieces. Wish there were more veggies, but I did enjoy the scallions. The service is good, but note you do sit down and then go up to order, she doesn't come to the table to take your order. It is in the H&R Block / Wingstop / Subways. There's plenty of parking!

Yelp
I used to really like this restaurant and came here often but unfortunately it's not the same anymore. The prices have gone up, the customer service has gone down, and now they serve dine-in customers in to-go containers. The last time I actually burned myself with the pho because those containers aren't made for eating hot soup from. It honestly makes me sad and disappointed to see how much things have changed, it used to be such a great spot, and now it's always empty. I really hope they can bring back the quality and service they once had.

Yelp
Food: 10/10 Value/Cost: 8/10 Ambiance: 7/10 Service: 7/10 I took my parents here for Father's Day & we were PLEASANTLY surprised at how tasty the food was here! We've been going to The Loving Hut in Mira Mesa for years, and this time around my dad wanted us to try this location -- we had gone to the MM location for his birthday several weeks ago and he really didn't like how oily the dishes were... So when we got here and every dish was fresh & light on the oil, we were super happy! EVERYTHING was tasty! What we ordered: Royal Noodle Soup: their version of Bun Bo Hue -- honestly, it tasted as CLOSE as you can possibly get to a meat/non-vegan version of Bun Bo Hue! My dad's been vegan for over 30 yrs and he was SO happy with it. My mom's been a meat eater her whole life (and had just cooked some homemade bun bo hue herself) and even she was genuinely impressed! Shrimp Rolls: This was probably one of everyone's favorite top dish -- it was so fresh, and we had a BLAST trying to fit the giant spring roll into our mouths, haha. The dipping sauce was absolute PERFECTION -- we loved it so much, I got up to order a second order of this! Garlic Butter Fried Rice: This dish came out first, and I guess we were all hungry because the four of us DESCENDED on this dish, hahaha. SO good -- though my mom thought it was just a touch too salty. The rest of us thought it had a really unique combination of flavors, and there was just something about it that made us not stop being able to eat it! Haha. Coco Tofu: This was really tasty & unique as well! This one came out last though, so we were all pretty full by the time it came. I loved the salad that complimented it! Pandan cake: Okay -- this was a crowd favorite. Everyone LOVED that it was just the PERFECT level of sweetness -- I wish we had ordered one of these to go! Two cons: 1) The service was interesting.... Only one person behind the register, and this poor gal had to run around sort-of helping everyone as well. It was kind of a "get-up-and-ask-for-everything-you-need" kind of place, and my boyfriend commented that it would've been better if they just left things out for us to grab what we needed, rather than him having to wait for the one gal to come out from out back and ask her every time we needed something -- like water, ice, plates, utensils... it sure was a strange setup, but I guess it does save on cost. 2) The sticky floors! I don't get why restaurants like these (including the MM Loving Hut) always have the stickiest floors. I felt like the floors at this location were sticky enough that day to pull of the bottom of my wedges, haha. Overall though, we LOVED our experience here, and we will definitely be back! :) WELL DONE, chef!!! Perfection!

Yelp
I really wanted to enjoy this place again, as I've supported it in the past during COVID. I love supporting mom-and-pop shops, especially when it comes to vegan food. I've had great experiences at other Loving Hut locations in Orange County, but unfortunately, this visit to the El Cajon location was the opposite in terms of customer experience. When we arrived at 12:10 PM, the "Open" sign was still off. I lightly joked about thinking they were closed (trying not to sound rude), but the host/Brenda simply said, "Oh, we just opened." The sign stayed off the entire time we were there. Throughout our visit, the host spent most of her time in the back chatting with the chef, wearing AirPods, and was not attentive to customers. After we received our food, I had to go to the counter multiple times to ring the chime for service. The same thing happened to the family that came in after us. There was no smile or welcoming attitude from the staff, which really impacts the dining experience. Overall, we will not be returning due to the poor customer service. My suggestion to the owners: train your staff on attentiveness, professionalism, and basic hospitality. A smile and a little engagement go a long way in customer retention--unless you plan to keep the "Closed" sign on forever. Also, you might want to fix the missing "E" in your "Vegan" sign out front--it's a small detail, but it reflects the larger issue of care and presentation. If you'd like, I can also make a shorter, punchier version that's better suited for Yelp or Google Reviews while keeping your points intact. That way, it gets read without people skipping over details. Would you like me to do that?

Yelp
I haven't been here in over a decade but the goodness has not changed! Can't go wrong with the Lemongrass Chicken. The portion size is enormous and it's just bursting with flavour! The restaurant has been remodeled with a fresh and modern feel which makes me love it even more. The only negative was that it wasn't busy during my visit (only one other patron dining) so I couldn't understand why the tables were not bused. Only 2 clean tables were available. Maybe they were short staffed, but I was too busy devouring my meal!
google avatar

Yelp
I LOVE LOVING HUT. All of the food here is fantastic, I would recommend trying the whole menu. The fresh summer rolls were fantastic, the perfect amount of food for a light meal. Plus the peanut sauce it came with was made with pineapple! It was very unique and delicious. The Katsu curry was also delicious, the katsu was perfectly crispy and so flavorful. The location was very quiet when I went, we were the only people eating there, but there were many pick up order. There was plenty of seating inside, no outside seating. The parking was fairly easy, they have a lot that they share with multiple stores.

Yelp
Loving Hut is our family's favorite spot for delicious plant-based cuisine. We always enjoy classics like the Lucky Monggo and Lucky Lemongrass, but the Pho soup is also a standout. Their salads are fresh and flavorful, and the appetizers never disappoint--especially the cream cheese wontons and Impossible egg rolls. Whether you're a long-time vegan or just looking to try something new, Loving Hut offers a satisfying and flavorful experience every time.

Yelp
I really like this spot! The food came out quickly and tasted great. Service was fast and friendly, and I appreciated that the menu was displayed with photos on a big screen, it makes ordering super easy. The tables were clean and well kept. Prices are a little on the higher side, especially for a banh mi, but that seems pretty standard for vegan food. Overall, I'd definitely come back.

Yelp
So sad to be writing this. We ordered a heavenly salad, online from their website via Clover, as we have before. After the initial time stated as we ordered of 10-15 minutes, the wait jumped to 25 minutes. So I hung out before going to pick it up. I arrived on time, only to be told there'd be a further 30 minute wait. Shocked, I asked for a refund. The young guy behind the counter said he was in training and didn't know how to do a refund. I insisted that he find someone who did. He went in the back several times, saying he needed to get management on the phone. After about 10 minutes of standing around, he came back with a new estimate of 15 minutes. I asked to speak to management. After another 10 minutes, a woman came out, and said she would refund me. When I complained that they need to close down taking new online orders if they got way behind, she said management wouldn't allow them to do that. I asked to speak to management, but she said they were not available and I could come in on Saturday (3 days later) when they would be in the restaurant. She flat out refused to give me a number to call to speak with someone myself--she wasn't going to let me "bother" them. Well, they've lost me as a customer. There is no salad good enough to put up with that kind of rude incompetence.

Yelp
This was a most unfortunate food experience, despite the fact that I was looking forward to trying their vegan fare. I don't know where to begin... The Beyond Burger was overcooked and simply lacked flavor, and the bun was crushed, as the entire burger lacked any sort of presentation. Also, I requested avocado, yet they put less than a spoonful, which is very surprising for a vegan restaurant. Furthermore, the French Fries were overfried so badly that they were dark brown and as hard as a rock. I was worried that I might break a tooth, as they were harder than croutons, so I had to throw them out. Sadly, they were completely inedible! The Garlic Chicken Bahn Mi was haphazardly put together in terms of the condiments being bunched up at the end of the sandwich, and the mushroom tapenade had very little flavor to speak of. Also, I requested a side salad with the Bahn Mi, however they gave me more of the inedible rock hard French Fries. Another surprising move for a restaurant that touts its vegan dishes. Additionally, the Spring Rolls were only approximately 3 inches long, which is probably the smallest set of spring rolls that I have ever eaten in my entire life. This was a prime example of Shrinkflation 101... Finally, I was hoping that the Royal Soup would make up for the accompanying blunders, but I was once again sorely disappointed. Instead of Royal Soup, it should be called Peasant Soup. Then, charging customers for packets of hoisin sauce was ultimately the coup de gras... After spending $75, and having to throw away half of the food, I must say that I feel completely ripped off!

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick dinner before our rose society meeting- always good options. Nearly had the place to ourselves, fast service and great food. Only request is the option of boba straws- jelly coffee is a little hard to drink with a normal straw.

Yelp
I literally stopped mid-meal to write this. What I got: Banh Mi (bacon/western style menu) Impossible BBQ Noodles Both are amazing & everything you would hope for. The banh mi is loaded with ingredients that were carefully distributed on the bread. The mushroom pate offers that extra umami and moisture so the sandwich isn't too dry. The noodle dish is a Vietnamese vermicelli rice bowl. So delicious and the typical fish sauce is provided (sans fish) to take this awesome bowl of food to 10/10. The spring rolls were fresh and crispy, the meat was delicious and it had all the fixin's. Highly recommend.

Natasha Y.

Yelp
The Bacon Banh Mi is what dreams are made of, it's the best Banh Mi that I've ever had, vegan or not! BEST! This Loving Hut is apparently not associated with the Loving Hut in Mira Mesa, we asked after seeing the menu was completely different. The service wasn't friendly either which is always a shame, no one seems to wanna work and everyone seems depressed at both locations. The butter garlic fried rice was great too, it needed some veggies I think but all in all it was great! The fries were grroooossssss and flavorless and the burger was alright and had a very hard bun. The cheese wontons were not cream cheese wontons like I thought, they had cheddar cheese in them which is super weird, I believe the cheese was Violife, I love that cheese but not in a wonton.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful vegan restaurant in North Park district of San Diego!!! Vegan or not you will find it full of taste and options! Who would have thought!!!??? Located in a strip mall - it is easily accessible, and the only down side to the establishment might be parking spots. Service is prompt and friendly and everything is made on site! Manager and employees are all passionate vegans and will even take orders for off menu items. Happy employees create happy ambience.... Cha Cha Garlic Noodles with what appeared to be tofu version of shrimp was delightful. Lucky Mongo was also pretty good - Chicken like fillets in Mongolian sauce.... At the end of the meal vegan cookies were great ending to already good meal.

Yelp
One of my go-top vegan spots in San Diego. I love getting their cha cha garlic noodles or the vegan shrimp tacos whenever I'm in the mood for vegan shrimp.

Julie C.

Yelp
The food was good, the service was pleasant for take out. We were just visiting for the weekend and we would come back on another visit.

Yelp
Always loved their food..we haven't been here in a while and I was shocked with the changes they did to their menu and venue. The menu is no longer a book - it's been cut by 80% - luckily my favorite lucky mongo is still there. Venue is in the process of renovation.

D C.

Yelp
This place is in a strip type mall. Parking is a bit of a challenge. They share parking with a launder mat, a wing place with beer and a Mexican joint. It's an open space with maybe 10 tables. You order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The hostess/server was very friendly. The food was delicious, as expected and very filling. Service after you received your food was, well let's just say they left you alone to enjoy your meal. It seems they do quite a bit of takeout. Good for them. I do recommend, as I stated earlier the food was delicious. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Got the Chacha Noodle. All the reviews were saying this is so amazing , even the cashier said it was the best seller. I gotta say, I was very disappointed. It taste like pure sodium. It wasn't good at all. Smelt amazing, looks great. It's not.

Yelp
HYPES: 8 months preggo & this plate was the ultimate cravings satisfied! the egg noodles were perfectly seasoned to perfection with just right amount of garlic. the cha cha pieces tastes just like shrimp and are fried perfectly! i dunno how they pack this much flavor into this dish, but im here for it! GRIPES: i should have ordered a drink! next time for sure!

Yelp
Haven't been to this vegan place in over 10 years!! I came back because of a special BOGO on Facebook messenger. And I am really enjoying the food. The garlic noodles are my absolute favorite--whether you get them as is or make them a little spicy. They have the Thai flavors of the red chili pepper, garlic, onion, butter with the noodles. The original order is with "cha cha" (which is vegan for wanna be fried shrimp)--which had 4 pieces. It was fine but I preferred the mock chicken (tastes pretty close to chicken and very similar texture to real chicken) as my protein. I also got a lot more "meat" when I substituted chicken for "cha cha." I did not care for the mock beef so much though because it was dry and didn't quite taste like beef. We also enjoyed the spicy rice (again selected mock chicken instead of "cha cha"), but I preferred the butter rice (a little sweet and tasted similar to the garlic noodles) that came with bits of fried tofu. Just wish it had more fried tofu!! However, i would say the noodles are superior to rice by far!! I commend MADISON for being so friendly and helpful, on the phone and in person upon my pickup, several times. She was the person helping me everytime!

Shreya N.

Yelp
I visited Loving Hut on a Sunday afternoon craving some good rice and let me say that craving was satisfied. We ordered the garlic butter fried rice and the cha cha garlic noodles and the dishes were so flavorful! The portion size was also excellent for the prize. The dishes came out in like 10 minutes and service was kind. The ambiance inside is lovely and pleasant. I will be coming back!
google avatar

Paul B.

Yelp
I would say, the rice was good, but compared to the noodles the noodles definitely would have won. The service was good, my wife said Madison was amazing and kind. The Ambiance is very simple a natural vibe. I would recommend, especially if your vegan!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is great!!! We love this place. But if ordering take out, PLEASE do yourself a favor and take everything out and inspect before leaving. They like to place sauces at the bottom of the bag without any other protection so by the time you get home you end up spending the next half an hour cleaning up your car. Don't let this happen to you!

Yelp
I will start by saying my family and I used to come here all the time, however ever since new management the food flavor has declined. When we went in tonight we noticed the new set up and it looked nice...for the most part. The benches looked nice until we got to the table and saw they were dirty and stained, they really need to deep clean them and keep them clean. The bathroom trash looked like it hasn't been taken out in days. Lastly the water pitchers need to be properly cleaned, there was a white residue that could have been mold on the pouring part. At the end of the day the food wasn't terrible but its not the loving Hut that kept us coming back.

Yelp
Went to San Diego and this spot showed up near my daughter's food choice. I was not disappointed. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall area. So there's parking.

Yelp
tasty food that is healthy. it is really vegetarian food. calling it vegan makes it sound like 'weird food' which it is not. Highly recommend.

Yelp
For lent this year, I gave up meat. My friend and I have been frequenting this spot and I have to say it has stolen our hearts and made eating vegan way more enjoyable than anticipated. The garlic noodles with spicy cha cha are sooo good and flavorful. The spicy cha chas are imitation shrimp and feels like im eating imitation crab. They definitely taste great on their own but found that with some sweet n sour sauce they are FIREEE. We also got a side of fries which were thick and solid, nothing special but they were good enough to finish. Ive tried their other location in Mira Mesa and this location definitely has better seating and spaciousness. The staff is always friendly no matter where you go. I will be back!

Yelp
We got food to go, just one dish. Vegan chicken with broccoli. No where in the description did it say the sauce would be so hot and spicy. The vegan meat was deep fried and rubbery and very oily. The vegetables were barely steamed: cabbage straight up raw and broccoli still very crisp. I can't speak to service as we did a to go order. Service looked ok. Ambiance is ok: it is located in a very busy strip mall wear parking spaces are super busy and very tight spaces. I was disappointed in this meal, as we try to eat vegan and support local businesses. This was just plain inedible and it went right into the garbage. This is definitely NOT healthy vegan food. The restaurant could do better by describing the sauces in more details or giving option not to have red hot chili flakes but I just think overall this is a fried "meat"vegan substitute kinda place. Sorry to say I do not recommend at all. We wasted our money here.

Yelp
Had to write a review for this delicious meal. I used to come here often, but haven't been here in years because I moved. My fiancé hasn't been here, not very familiar with vegan food. The place looks great. Bathroom clean. Dining experience lovely. Staff very kind, friendly and attentive. Cheese Wontons (5): similar to cheddar filling rather than cream cheese. Cheese melty and delicious. Wontons Crisp, not greasy. Fiancé liked these. Heavenly salad: Refreshing, love the mint. Crisp veg. I used to order this all the time. It's still good. Fiancé okayed it. Thinks he would enjoy it more on a hot summer day. Beyond Loving burger w/ fries: Impressed by flavor and texture of the patty. Pickles were crisp. Satisfying burger. Good, decent fries; seasoned, not greasy. Fiancé loved this burger. He's an in n out kinda guy, used to work for them and never had a vegan burger. He kept expressing how impressed he was. Cha Cha Garlic Noodles: The person who took our order said this was a customer favorite. It is.... This was my favorite. I don't recall seeing it when I used to come here years ago. Garlic flavor is soooo good! The "shrimp" crisp, not greasy, nice texture, hint of heat/spicy. Noodles coated w/ flavorful oil w/ tasty garlic flavor. This dish is perfect. Please don't change it ever. Fiancé loved this and says ditto. *We would order all these dishes again. Can't wait to explore the rest of their menu.

Yelp
Great food for Vegans!! A must-have if you are new to the vegan lifestyle!! The prices are what you expect in this area, but the food is amazing!

Yelp
Service left much to be desired. Food was just ok. Server forgot our tea until after we got our food. Total depressing vibe.

Yelp
My wife wanted me to try vegan food and I wasn't sure because I've never tried it! We came here because we heard amazing things . We shared our apps of the summer roll and the impossible crispy roll. So good my favorite was the summer roll ! Our sever was very helpful she helped us pick out our items and explain the menu ! I got the garlic cha cha shrimp noodles and they were soo good ! My wife got the pho Thai noodles and she loved it also ! They also have so much variety of drinks here. My favorite was the cold brew coffee. So much room to sit and very clean restaurant!

Yelp
I really, really appreciate a convenient, affordable, and healthy option for a single person who eats out more than cooking at home. And to have there be a vegan restaurant that is not trendy or pretentious is priceless. I have stopped in here every so often over the years and have enjoyed my experiences overall. Recently I ate at a different loving hut location a couple times and can't help but compare experiences. I find the other location to have a much more vibrant menu and friendlier, more personable service. Coming back to my neighborhood location, I feel like they are lacking. When I'm in the area near the other location, it's one of my top choices and I crave it. When I'm in North Park, it's still a good choice but not nearly as exciting. I really do appreciate North Park Loving Hut, and can only imagine the struggle of keeping a restaurant alive while keeping up on rent as well as the crazy prices of all the other expenses. I would be crushed if I drove by and they weren't there. I also feel like there's a lot of room for innovation and improvement, however I still am grateful to have them.

Yelp
Delicious vegan food! We got the Cha Cha Garlic Noodles, Royal Noodle Soup, Blissful Pho, and Coco Tofu. The Cha Cha Garlic Noodles came with fried "shrimp" and super garlicky noodles. It was delicious and a large portion, but since it's so flavorful, would probably want to order another dish so your mouth can take a break from the garlic. The Royal Noodle Soup is a vegan "Bun Bo Hue" which was delicious as well. The noodles really hit the spot. The Blissful Pho was stellar. One of the best vegan pho broths I've had! The Coco Tofu was packed with flavor and texture. The tofu is coated in coconut shaving and I think coconut sugar as well but it's not tooooo coconut-y. It's perfectly juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The long grain white rice is also kind of addicting. The Coco Tofu is definitely one of my favorite dishes. Parking is easy as it's in a plaza with a lot. Plenty of seating indoors if you want to dine in, but also great for take out! Their dishwasher was broken when we ate so all of the food came out in to-go containers, so it was a bit difficult to eat the noodle soups but thankfully they gave us a third bowl to help us put the noodles and soup into. Overall, would definitely go again. If I lived nearby, I'd probably be here every day.

Yelp
Service was great, a lot of people tend to order takeout but it's worth dining in so all the fried food is fresh and extra crispy. We got the cha cha noodles, the summer roles, a salad and the curry. Everything was great, the pineapple peanut sauce with the summer roles was a little too fruity and sweet for me but the salad dressing was the perfect consistency with a nice hit of basil. Ordering the noodles and soups for takeout could still be well worth it, but definitely dining in again for all the crispy soy chicken and fried tofu!

Yelp
I'm not sure if I have the right location because I ordered through Uber Eats, but everything was delicious and had good portions. I ordered the crispy rolls which were really good, cha cha noodles which were delicious, and cheese wontons which were amazing. If anything could have been better, I'd say the noodles were a bit too oily. But overall I enjoyed everything enough to order here again. My absolute favorite were the cheese wontons, perfect crisp on the outside and creamy vegan cheese goodness inside!

Yelp
My coworker was vegan and we decided to try this place out since it was around the area and it had decent reviews. Parking was decent since it was in a small little shopping center and it was easy to locate. Once inside the staff was very sweet and helpful with the menu. I ended up ordering the cheese wontons, and the Fabulous Mongolian plate. My coworker ordered the Coco Tofu. After we ordered some Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies. The taste was decent, especially since I'm not a vegan myself. But the dishes still had flavor and the meal was satisfying, especially the cookies. But if I was in the area and someone wanted to try vegan again, I would certainly try this place again.
