The place is cute and cozy, it has a very different feel than the downtown location but in a good way. They have a very limited bar. I think they only offered sangria and beer/ale. And it was overpriced for the small portion size. The food did not disappoint. We ordered the king crab and garlic noodles and cornbread; all were delectable. I really enjoyed the sauce. I’d revisit.

Main complaint is that the seasoning was too salty and had too much garlic. Second complaint is that we didn’t know how we were going to be seated and stood their food 10mins before figuring it out ourselves. My other complaint is that the lobster tail had parts of it that did not look cooked all the way. beignets We’re also just a weird bread with powder on it. That place was go expensive for me to have problems like this.

Lowcountry does not take reservations, but they were more than willing to accommodate our group of 8 people. Luckily there was no wait to be seated. The staff is very friendly. You order at the counter, and they will bring the food to you. They have sinks near the check out counter which is perfect for when you finish your seafood boil and don't want to go all the way to the bathroom. Their seafood boil is tasty, but their spice level is tame. I recommend ordering the garlic noodles alongside your seafood boil.

This place can get expensive but worth it. My wife and I ordered two build-your-own with lobster, king crab legs, and other additions to our mixes and we're not disappointed. We like spicy but decided to go with 'hot,' and it was a perfect point of heat and flavor. I liked the 'everythang' sauce which was very garlicky and wife enjoyed her Cajun.

The everything sauce in Hot is in fact EVERYTHING. We got Combo D + a lobster tail and it was very filling! As we walked in everything was clean. You go to the counter and order and they bring your food out. Complimentary utensils, bibs, cups, to-go bags and tinfoil for left overs. As for the food: Comes with plenty of shrimp and everything is drenched in sauce. The sauce isn’t unbearable either it’s the perfect level of spice and salty. The atmosphere was super calm but we did arrive around 5pm. It started getting busy at 6pm. Service was fast and they were all super attentive. I would return again.

The server was absolutely disrespectful from the time we walked in the door. We were placed in a sitting area to the far right. Minutes later this new server arrived and asked that we move to a different area because the area we was originally sat in was for party’s of 6 and more. It was myself plus 2 others. When we got placed for different seatings the young lady who was sitting by her self was able to stay in the area we was originally placed in that was supposed to be for parties of 6. Nevertheless when starting to place the order the server at the counter was very nasty and unpleasant. She was rushing us basically to order our food. When ordering my food, i ordered a #7 with extra potatoes. During ordering our food we was told that majority of the items was out for the night. I also ordered a frozen margarita due to them not having ice for drinks, and no liqueurs for the other mixed drinks besides the frozen drinks. The server also messed up on giving my friend her proper change back that she had paid for. The server had to recalculate everything on her phone. Instead of giving us our receipts, she placed are receipts in the bucket and left from behind the counter as if we had pissed her off. So forth, our food was brought out to us, they gave us the dessert in place of the cornbread. Keep in mind i stated i order a frozen margarita due to them being out of everything. While waiting on the food and when the food arrived we never received our drinks. Guest of 4 came inside the facility and asked for frozen drinks as well and they drinks was brought out right away to them. She never once checked on us. But the new guest she was pleasant and checking in on there tables. We wrapped our food up to go and went back to the counter for a refund for our drinks and she basically still didn’t issue out the right full refund. In all this was my first time visiting this new spot and everything was just very disappointing. Never will i ever go to that location again. I do food reviews for fun on restaurants my followers or friends and family wants to know if they are good quality restaurants. I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Hopefully the staff will be better or do better. Hopefully the store inventory employees can really monitor the things they order so they can be prepared through the night.

There were no attendants at the front of house to seat us. Finally, an aggravated female worker emerged from the back. We received the opposite of a warm welcome from her. She gave off a dark somber Wednesday Addams vibe. She sat us, spoke quickly and left. The seating is not very accommodating. Expect to be cramped and crammed into a corner and sat in small uncomfortable metal chairs. When you scan the barcode for the menu don't exit out accidentally because you won't be able to go back in. After being seated, you have to place your order at the counter. Mariana aka Wednesday Addams was very short tempered and aggravated if you didn't know what you wanted to order or had any questions. The $13 margarita was not worth it. The crab legs were tasty excluding the sauce. The sauce had way too much lemon and garlic. I love a good crab boil, but this low country location was not worth the hassle. The male worker and the other other female server was nice, polite, welcoming and accommodating.

I came here last minute on a Sunday night. It wasn’t packed initially but after about 730 pm it started to pick up. I was immediately greeted by a young lady and sat at a table where the menu is scan by phone. When you figure out what you want then you go up to the counter and place your order pay and wait on them to bring your food. I ordered the crab and shrimp it canes with corn, potatoes, and complimentary cornbread. I got spice level hot which was good. The restaurant is clean and has a lovely atmosphere. They played good music and I really enjoyed my experience overall. I will be returning!

Yelp
Decor is so beautiful here with the Chinatown vibes! Low Country was running an anniversary special which was a $35 combo with lobster, shrimp, corn, cornbread and potatoes. We added on sausage and noodles and got the special sauce, hottest level of spice. You Order at the counter then take a number and water and utensils/napkins are self-serve. They bring your order to you and the bibs to your table. All the components of the combo were good. The lobster tail a little small but the shrimp was plump and corn had a good crunch. I especially liked the cornbread for the flavor and wasn't dry! The hottest spice level had a really good kick too! Will be back!

Yelp
Upon walking in we were seated right away and the service is quick and easy. The look of this place is very nice and I love the architecture. Very unique and fits the theme of China Town. Floral and lots of acccents with vibrant colors. Elegant look and has music playing in the background. The way you order is very interesting because you have to go up to a register and order there. They have a lot of good options in their menu (a bit pricey though), but the taste of the food will determine if the price worth it. I also like how you can make your own seafood boil too. But I prefer getting a menu item since you would be spending more money. Food came in very quick, maybe took like 10 minutes. The food was okay. The one I got wasn't too bad, but I will say that it was very salty. I got weak sauce w garlic. Wouldn't recommend. Also, the hot level is very spicy. Atleast for me. My mom and sister got it and I tried it, I couldn't finish all of the noodles I borrowed to try. No seasoning, just full on spice. I did make a pretty good dent in my bag by the end though. I just wish it wasn't so salty and had more seasoning. Even though this is my first seafood boil spot, I wouldn't come here again, neither would I consider it the best. I wouldn't recommend this business. I'd prefer you and myself to adventure more and pass on this place for another if you're craving seafood boil.

Yelp
The only thing good is the flavor's they used on the seafood. I gotten garlic and there was enough garlic on the seafood to scare off any vampires. Now the bad part is the food, we ordered the lobster combo $35, it was not fresh but all frozen as the lobster tail and crab cluster was mushy. I ordered thru the website online app which you pay with credit card and you can't cancel the order. The app said my order is done after 30 min but the food took 90 min which I waited in the restaurant. There were tables that I saw was waiting longer than I was for their food. I don't think I will ever come back here again, They charge 3.25% for using a credit card.

Yelp
I've been hearing and seeing this place from friends & social media. Haven't had a chance to and I'm glad that I finally got to! My friend and I went and they still had their New Year combo special, which was a 4 oz lobster tail, 1 snow crab cluster, 1/2 lb shrimp, 3 pieces of potatoes, 2 pieces of corn, and 2 pieces of cornbread all for $32. What a deal! The flavor hit the spot for me. It was at the perfect spice level for me and the sauce was on point! A lot of seafood boil spots I find the sauce can be salty but this was not the case for me. I can't wait to be back again.

Tabitha W.

Yelp
Shrimp overcooked and sausage was missing from order. It had no flavor and taste like vinegar. I prefer butter flavored seasoning. The broccoli was overcooked. The corn was ok.

Angela L.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the seafood boil here!! It was very flavour and good. We ordered at the counter and took a seat while they brought it to us when it's done. The only thing is I wish it was more spicy even tho I got the spiciest option. The garlic noodle was also very good, I'll definitely come visit it again should I end up in Chicago next time!!

Yelp
Food was good but preparation and presentation lacks quality for customer service and good management. Looks like every Lowcountry Restaurant does the same type of serving. They serve your hot boil food in plastic bags and this causes the plastic to release its chemicals to the food. I prefer my food not to be contaminated by plastic bleaching at all. This should also be part of food safety service management. And who in the world can eat crab legs with plastic utensils and why would the customer have to ask twice to lower/ change the music. The ambiance is for the customers. Service production of food very low . Flavors good but hopefully learning.

Liz W.

Yelp
The food was very good, but nothing set them apart from other boil in bag places that I have been to. The bar was also closed on the day that we went, and we couldn't get the cocktails that we had been looking forward to all day. :( The staff was friendly though, and the music was good.

Yelp
Customer service was OK. When I returned about the hair in my food, the guy Matt was nice but I just couldn't get pass why he would ask if I wanted to keep the food after I returned it for hair being in it. Did he really believe I would take that back and eat it?! I suggested they wear hair nets because this was disgusting. I also suggested a manager really should be there AT ALL TIMES!!! But my receipt says I was served by a manager. I was told there was no manager on duty tonight 8/17/2023 between 9:40pm/10:10pm oh and the Cajun, ridiculously hot needs seasoning.

Yelp
This was by far the worst Seafood restaurant experience I've ever had. To say I am beyond disappointed is an understatement. First of all the ordering process is cold and impersonal. You scan the QR code, order your food and pay at the table before your food comes out. Although a member of the staff greeted us and seated us, that was the extent of their interaction with us as customers. They may as well have a drive through. Now on to the food. Horrible! The Everythang seasoning was disgusting!! The garlic was so overpowering that the food had a strong chemical taste. It was inedible. Upon my first complaint to one of the workers, he suggested that I get a side of lemon pepper to drown out the chemical taste. When he brought me out a cup of lemon pepper sauce, it too was loaded with garlic!! It didn't make a difference when I tasted it. Actually it made it taste even worse. Upon my second complaint I was informed that they don't give refunds for their food. The best they could do was offer me a 25% discount on my next visit. First he said to any location, then he changed it and said the discount would only be valid at the Chinatown location. Really? Do they think I would ever want to go back there again? He said next time just ask for easy or no garlic. I have eaten at several seafood places in the past and I have never been to one that uses more garlic than sauce. I held my appetite all day waiting for them to open at 5pm just to receive food that was inedible. The amount of money we spent on that food was ridiculous for us to be utterly dissatisfied was extremely disappointing. Low Country will never have my business again.

Cory W.

Yelp
I went to this place yesterday and I enjoyed myself. Food was nice for the price. and I will be going back there again. You need to try it out one day.

Rita T.

Yelp
The food is good but they don't answer their phone. I recommend they add steamed rice as a side on the food service apps because you can't order it online. I always try to call but they don't answer the line.

Yelp
Me and my girlfriend got takeout. We ordered the snow crab and shrimp boil. We got the everything seasoning "hot", which is the next step up from no spice. The boil was so spicy we couldn't even enjoy it. We ate a good amount and both of us had very bad stomach aches. We also didn't get our side of noodles we ordered. I heard Lowcountry is very good but from what i gathered the Chinatown location is not. I would be willing to try a different location.

Lala O.

Yelp
I was underwhelmed for my first experience. We had to all go up to the stand and place orders. They did bring it to the table. Our server was super friendly and nice. I ordered a garlic boil. Man oh man was it garlicky! I love garlic but this tasted like a garlic boil. The garlic overpowered the food. It was tasty but it was a little salty. I actually have made better boils at home.

Saul M.

Yelp
The service was really bad I waited two hours for my food other costumers would come and get seated and served right away i ask for my food and they just say there bagging it up but nothing they just keep on serving other people DA FUCKKK

Manuel M.

Yelp
Wow! What a food experience! Just got back from an amazing feast at Lowcountry in Chinatown. From the service to the food, we ate like royalty and enjoyed a variety of food options at a reasonable price. First, we shared the payday containing mouthwatering, sweet, tender crab clusters. The jumbo shrimp complemented the potatoes, corn cob, and cornbread. We selected hot spice with everything seasoning (garlic, lemon pepper, and Cajun spice) that perfectly seasoned the entire bag. We also tried the shrimp and noodle, chicken wings, popcorn chicken, dirty rice, and Cajun fries. For dessert, we devoured the fried Oreo and Beignet. Each food item was tasty and left you wanting more. If you're looking for an enjoyable meal with friends and family, Lowcountry is the place to go. Be prepared to wear a bib and enjoy!

Yelp
We came here to celebrate my sister's birthday and food was good but the customer service was even more better than the food. I wish I got his name but the three people there working February 23 so sweet and very helpful. Thank you for the great experience! very clean too!

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem!!! I saw this location online but little reviews but i seen current reviews, so I decided to drive there and see the restaurant. I arrived on Tuesday at 6:30pm plenty of parking (pay meter) and they also have a parking lot but its pay by hour. There was couple people its a small restaurant so my daughter liked it and we came on her BD May 5th at 5pm right when they opened. We had a group of 18. They accommodated us with joining tables. The music was 90 R&B which we enjoyed. Food was great. Drinks were awesome. Everyone had leftovers. I will definitely be coming back!! The price is worth the amount of food you get.

Yelp
I relocated from Houston to Chicago about two years ago and one of the things that I miss the most is fresh seafood; so I was on the hunt for a place who offered crab legs. This place did not disappoint!!!! The seafood was fresh, served hot and seasoned very well. Although a bit more costly compared to Houston it's well worth it! I don't mind a slightly higher price for just as good of quality. The service was great!!!! The wine prices were affordable and it wasn't over crowded like I heard other locations are. I loved that we were able to walk right in and get a table. There was no long wait for a table or our food. The street parking was easy and they also have a public parking garage nearby. I will definitely be returning. This is my new favorite seafood spot!!!!!!

Kim H.

Yelp
I went to Low Country in Chinatown Feb 14, 2024 and it was NOT crowded. it was 4 of us they ordered the seafood bags, I ordered wings and fries. all of their bags came I'm still waiting. People came in after me and received their food. my daughter asked where was my food they said give them 5 minute. 10 minutes passed still nothing. So i decided I wanted my money back beca everyone at my table were finished eating. I asked how can I be accommodated the young boy said wait for your food and I can give you a dessert or your money back. I asked for a manager they said they don't have one. they did not apologize their noodles and rice were cold. their customer service is HORRIBLE when they asked for the food to be heated they were told take it to the register. Their noodles were DRY asked the waitress for sauce once again she said you have to go to the register and ask for me. the place was not packed at all. I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone unless you want cold food, they forget to cook your food and horrible service... NEVER EVER AGAIN and the seats are hard ass hell and the air was on it's too damn cold in there. spend your money where you get great HOT FOOD AND GET CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY NEVER TRIED TO FIND A SOLUTION OR APOLOGIZE FOR FORGETTING TO COOK MY WINGS AND FRIES

Breonne C.

Yelp
The crab boil was great, the crab was fresh and the seasoning was right on point. I will be back!

Nichelle F.

Yelp
I love the food, always fresh and well seasoned. I am able to place order on the way home and pick up is always ready and waiting. The staff is friendly, clean and courteous. I love their weekday specials great deals!!!

Laura C.

Yelp
I just flew in from Austin, arrived luggage in hand from a delayed flight (staying next door). My husband sent pictures from last night and I set my heart on having seafood for dinner - mind you I am starving! We arrived at 923 and the waitresses turned us away saying the diner closed at 920, You should change your hours if you are going to turn away 2 paying guests 40 minutes before your published closing time. What a disappointment!!!

K G.

Yelp
12/31/2022 I don't want to give Lowcountry Chinatown 2 stars, so to be kind, I'll start with 3 stars. My family tried Lowcountry based on a few recommendations, but unfortunately it did not live up to the expectation for us. We chose the Chinatown location only because of logistics. The combination of sauces was not a great choice....the garlic was WAY to overpowering. I ordered the vegetable boil with a side of bbq fried chicken wings. The veggies were mushy with way to much garlic and greasy. The wings were the best part of my meal. My hubby order the New Years Eve Special, which included lobster. He had to spit out the lobster after taking a bite; the texture was extremely mushy and the taste was awful. Based on his description, I'm not sure if the lobster was old (not fresh) or just overcooked. My family related that they might try Lowcountry again, maybe a different location, but definitely not the "Everythang" sauce---maybe Cajun. I, on the other hand, will only get the chicken wings. I do realize that not all recommendations work for everyone/everybody, so because of that, this location gets barely 3 stars. If you choose to try LC, I would suggest asking the staff about their sauces to hopefully get a better understanding of their product. ....there was nothing special about the ambiance of this location.

Faron S.

Yelp
Terrible service. We walked in at 9:23 on a Thursday night, straight from the airport (with luggage), and they wouldn't seat us - even though they close at 10:00 and weren't crowded.

Fe M.

Yelp
This new location is a little hidden gem. The inside decor is beautiful and the staff was very friendly and professional. I had the build your bag with mussels, king crab legs, shrimp potatoes, corn and eggs. I mistakenly added chicken wings too because I thought it was the fried wings that I usually get on the side. I didn't know that it was an option to put in the bag which was my mistake. I ordered online (which I love) and did pick-up, the process was smooth and my order was right. The food tasted just as good as the other locations that I have tried but I will say the garlic was a tad bit more powerful at this location. The only thing I didn't like was that they don't really have a parking lot. It's more of street parking but now that I think of it the other two locations I have been to didn't really have a parking lot either. I will definitely be going back and because this location isn't really super popular yet it wasn't extremely busy and kinda quiet so next time I will dine-in to enjoy the decor and the atmosphere more.

Angela O.

Yelp
I was so eager to try this location and the food had way to much garlic! You didn't taste any but garlic. So not worth the $71 I spent. The boil had over cooked shrimp mushy and soaked in garlic. Definitely if you go get sauce on the side.
