Lowcountry Fresh Market & Cafe

Grabbed a few snacks and a fantastic coffee from LC Fresh Market. The coffee was some of the best I’ve had in area. Additionally with this, the pastries and bagels were top tier. Additionally the staff were extremely kind and helpful.

Our first visit to Lowcountry Fresh! We stopped here for brunch and were not disappointed! Atmosphere was low key and homey! Shopping after brunch in the market was an adventure too and we met Cindy, who is the owner along with her hubby. So pleasant hearing how they opened the store and will celebrate 5 years of business in April 2026! Check them out, you won't be disappointed either!

I’ve been a loyal supporter of Lowcountry Fresh since it opened and truly believe in its mission to support local farmers and offer fresh, quality food. When they get it right, it’s some of the best around. However, I’ve noticed a few recurring issues that I hope can be addressed to help this business thrive. Customer service has been inconsistent. On many visits, staff seem disengaged or unhappy, and the main register is often left unattended—sometimes with no one available to help, especially toward closing time. It’s also been disappointing to see how often staff turnover happens, just as I start recognizing familiar faces. Food portions are hit or miss. Sandwiches are well done, but salads tend to be mostly lettuce with very minimal toppings, even when extras like chicken are added. For the price, it doesn’t feel like a great value. Lastly, I’ve felt uneasy about being asked to give my credit card number over the phone for small to-go orders. After one such time, I experienced a fraud attempt on my card (though I can’t say for certain it was related, it was enough to make me uncomfortable). I really want to continue supporting LCF and hope to see improvements in service, food consistency, and ordering processes. There’s so much potential here—and I’m rooting for them.

Quick service. Nice atmosphere. We were able to meet for a business brunch and talk with ease on the porch. The place was clean and comfortable. The ingredients were locally sourced. The staff was kind and responsive. It felt like a nice and healthy alternative for a morning meet up. I will come back again.

Our team had a great private celebration there and the food was Amazing!!! Leah and the staff were so attentive! We will be back for sure!! Side note: Cheesecake was so delicious best I have ever had!!

Awesome store.... but its never open? They had holiday hours all throughout January where they appeared to close randomly? 3 customers in the parking lot all trying to buy stuff!

The food was delicious when it came out but we had to wait almost an hour for our breakfast to be served for 3 people. That was a little insane and shouldn’t have to wait that long. We were ready to walk out after being told food takes longer because it’s being made from scratch. Scratch still doesn’t take THAT long for an efficient kitchen. We were given a not so fresh cup of fruit as an apology.

We had a great experience there celebrating an early birthday brunch! Food was delicious, the staff were so welcoming and accommodating and the outside patio was great! We were a group of 9 and the food came out fresh and our coffees cups were always filled! Can’t thank Chef Jared and his staff enough!

Felt like I was in my grandmas kitchen! The portions were massive and the service was wonderful. Sweetest employees with lots of smiles. Get the chicken rice bowl. You'll have enough food to feed a family of 4!

Buyer beware on buying prepared food in the refrigerator case. I purchased the green sauce which stated the ingredients in the photo attached. I was clear with the cashier that I was allergic to cilantro and wanted to make sure that there was no cilantro in the sauce and he confirmed there was no cilantro as it was parsley only based on the ingredients list. Got home excited to try nd there was, in fact, cilantro in the sauce. I not only don't like cilantro, but i'm allergic to it. The container of green sauce costs ten dollars so it was not inexpensive. I contacted the store and spoke to the manager after being put on hold for a bit. I believe his name was Josh. He did apologize by saying that there was a change in the kitchen staff and that there was definitely cilantro in the green sauce even though it wasn't listed. That was it no, option to bring it back for a return or a refund. He just made the excuse that there's a change in kitchen staff and that a mistake was made. Not a good idea to blame someone else instead of making things right. I can't imagine that the store will stay in business for too long as it was empty on a friday afternoon and when I drove five miles down the road to Nantuckets, it was filled with people. I always contact management before I post on yelp. I felt like after that conversation a post was warranted. An expensive store of that nature should train its employees to handle guest complaints better and should be really careful about listing the ingredients in all of their prepackaged goods. Do better!

They don't serve sandwiches on Sundays -- only brunch -- which we didn't know until we got there. For four people, our total came out to $85, and it took 45 minutes to get our food, even though the place was nearly empty. There were only two people working the entire restaurant, and they looked like teenagers. One girl seemed completely lost. I ordered an iced latte, and instead of remaking it when it came out hot, the guy just poured the hot coffee over ice. I had ordered the fried chicken, and 30 minutes after we placed our order, they finally told me they were out of it. We had to ask for all our food to-go because my dad had to leave for work. Overall, the place felt completely unorganized and poorly managed. Definitely won't be coming back. Super disappointed because I used to like this place.

Porch is nice and very large. Salad was good. Expensive. Drinks were sad. Felt unorganized. Eh.

Lowcountry fresh is a must stop when one is in Bluffton. They have everything from fresh bread and fruits, to seafood, wine, kombucha, chocolates, and more. I have eaten at the restaurant once and it had to go orders twice. The lox bagel was amazing! That bagel was a bagel dreams are made of! I also loved the hash n grits. Yum! Such a hearty helping in that meal! When you walk in you can order from the counter, and if you are doing a to go order, you can walk around the store and shop. If you are choosing to eat at the establishment, seating is to the left of the counter. The environment is casual and inviting. Very clean! We will continue to come back!

I'm sorry, but I have absolutely no idea why speaking to any management would have changed a thing about our experience. Your incredibly high pricing, lack of appropriate signage and selection of products didn't meet our expectations. Nothing more to say.

I was so disappointed in my recent visit to The Lowcountry Fresh Market & Cafe. In the spring I enjoyed the Shrimp Po Sandwich and now it's been removed from the menu. Last spring my son enjoyed a hot bbq sandwich , gone from the menu.. Today I ordered a roast beef sandwich sandwich. It was thrown together on sourdough bread with the end pieces of a tomato ( the center of the tomato was hard and yellow.) Nothing special about the sandwich for the price. My husband ordered the Carnegie pastrami, we're from NY and the Carnegie deli would never serve ICE COLD pastrami with lettuce. There are also a lot less choices in the salad counter. The sweet potato salad and the quinoa salad were gone from the showcase. Maybe it's a better place for breakfast but nothing special about lunch.

5-22-23 9:30 AM Monday morning When I relocate to this area in the near future, this will be my #1 place for breakfast. Who doesn't love a combination of eating as well as shopping. So we were starving and ordered at the register and they bring you your food. Great gives me time to shop. I picked up a couple of dish towels for the new house. Nice local touches. Than bought stuff to bring home as well as eat on our road trip including popcorn, peach preserves and peaches. Back to the table for breakfast I had two eggs over easy with homemade sausage them make their as well as pancakes. Delicious with a nice cup of hot tea. Hubby had an omelette and coffee. Note the weekend menu is different than during the week but they still were able to get my hubby an omelette that he wanted. Wonderful customer service as they are so accommodating. I love this place once we move we can food shop here as well. Such a clean warm inviting atmosphere. Can't wait until we return.

I have been following lowcountry on IG since they opened and I couldn't wait to try them. It's a very spacious grocer/market with fresh produce and so many other items. I wanted to try some of the desserts but ended up ordering the shrimp po boy and hushpuppies and the sandwich was very good but the hushpuppies were very hard and overcooked.

Super cute spot inside of a fabulous market! the food was OK but I wouldn't say it's the best brunch I've had in town, price was kind of high, considering it was literally in market, but it's very convenient with plenty of space to eat and grab whatever you need while you're there.

Our entire visit was an absolute pleasure. We came right when they opened for breakfast and were not disappointed. The market and cafe were clean and the atmosphere was upbeat. The staff were friendly, helpful, and answered all of our questions. One thing to stress is that we were impressed by the variety of local goods and felt like the experience was very informative. My mom and I have been to South Carolina before but felt like we got to see a different side of the state on this visit. Every good, ingredient, or menu item at this location told the story of the area and of the locals who lovingly pour themselves into their food and products. We ordered the shrimp and grits and can honestly say it was the best. The ingredients were fresh, portions were great, and most of all: you can taste the love. We picked up a few other items like the local honey, pecans, and the kettle corn (which is also amazing!) Another thing to note is the attention to promoting local artists, chefs, and others in the community. We loved seeing the local art and cookbooks on display. Overall, really great place, really great people, and a really great story. We will definitely be back.

We popped in for lunch. Was not at all what we expected. You order your food while standing in line and they bring it to your table. I wanted to check this place out because I saw on Facebook that they were having a wine pairing dinner. The dinner was about $125 per person. I'm glad I went and checked it out. I am not impressed at all. And certainly not fancy enough to warrant half the price of the wine tasting dinner. We ordered a Caesar wrap sandwich. The sandwich did not have much taste. It definitely could have used a little bit of dressing or something. It was extremely dry. I believe the sandwich was $12. Definitely not going back.

High prices low inventory. Check out Nantucket Meat and Fish Market for a far better experience and fresh foods.

Wonderful Breakfast, eggs cooked perfectly, tasty bacon, amazingly seasoned breakfast potatoes and grilled sour dough, what could be better! Check out the amazing market while there, and grab dinner and other gifts and groceries too!

As someone who lives in Manhattan but is from the south, I love seeing businesses like this open up and serve great quality coffees, pastries, and food and have a lovely selection of specialty groceries to choose from. So happy with this place and I love the aesthetic and vibe!

It's good and it's fresh. The prices are a rip off. They're approaching NYC prices, but there the person behind the counter makes 120k per year. We rich fat cows and bulls are the number 1 reason for inflation in Bluffton. We don't seem to care about prices for excellent or crap. Sad.

I was really hoping this was more like Fresh Market Grocery store. I have tried all there baked good , Sides and some breakfast , everything was bland and dry . They need to up the ante on there chef and hire someone who knows how to bake and cook. This store seems like somone opened it just as a write off . The store is empty half the time , no selection . They should go check out Fresh Market and copy them, They would be much more successful . The workers get 5 stars because they are always so friendly.

If you're open until 7pm, a customer should be able to get take-out sandwiches made at 6:40pm.

Grabbed coffee and sandwiches for the road and was very impressed with great food, service & produce/deli. All baked breads, scones, treats are fresh baked on site.....& the few we sampled were amazing. What a gem for folks who live around this place!!!

Combo supermarket and lunch spot. Regional food. Loved the shrimp salad sandwich. Potato salad on the side. Lovely staff, too! These people know local quality foods, and the people bringing back foods from black history here.

The atmosphere was so welcoming, and building is adorable. The staff was so friendly. The food and coffee was DELICIOUS. But these apple butterscotch pancakes with the syrup were.. to die for!

Wonderful, helpful folks. Local produce and meats. Some of the best fresh breads in a town that desperately needs good bread. Their wine dinner events are not to be missed. Great cafe setting for a relaxed breakfast or lunch

We had lunch and the BLT was very good. My wife had the Turkey sandwich which was very good too. Fries were a bit undercooked.

This is truly a southern gem. Low Country Fresh is a fairly modern-appearing establishment; in fact, it looks more like a "tourist trap souveneir shop" from the outside. I was visiting local friends in the area who suggested we go there for lunch and I'm glad we did. Inside, it looked more like a nice deli than restaurant, but it's apparently both. We ordered lunch at the counter, then went outside to the screened porch waited (and waited) for lunch. The food was definitely worth exercising a bit of patience! I had the Pecan Smoked brisket rice bowl and it was delivered piping hot with delicious, tender, flavorful slices of beef brisket, red peas, broiled fresh vegetables, served over a bed of Carolina gold rice. It couldn't have been more fresh if we'd been sitting in the kitchen. Chef Delores is amazing and her talents are worth the wait.

Amazing fresh food! Their menu was great with tons of options, but the market itself was incredible! So many fresh foods to choose from, I couldn't make up my mind! Also, get the Apple pancakes. No regrets.

The staff there are less than friendly. The prices are inflated significantly compared to other vegetable or fruit stands in the area or places, like Whole Foods where you can get really good produce.

I am a Dr who just moved in close to this place and decided to try it out and bought a already cooked chicken breast for $7.50. An hour or so later I heated and started to eat it and it was the toughest, old tasting piece of chicken I have ever eaten. OK, stuff happens but since I can walk to the place I took it back and the "manager" on duty (7pm on 6-11-24!) never said a word except that "we don't give refunds on food that was over 1/2 eaten!!" I told him to look in the same container he put it in a long with the price tag on top. I said maybe I can get something else, other than the horrible chicken, and he then told me that I had ordered 2 chicken breasts and ate 1 and brought the other one back!!! I told him to look at the price tag he put on and tell me if it was one or two pieces and did he really think I had nothing better to do than come back and try after eating 1 piece and getting credit or replacement for another piece! He and another manager then told me to leave or they will call the police! I never got my money back or any replacement! A VERY EXPENSIVE and unprofessional place to go,,,,plus all the additional sides under glass looked like they have been there for days! Stay Away!

Unique facility and, pretty much, concept for this area. A real special resource! raw and prepared foods as well as a small dining area. They have classes and other activities.

Stopped for a quick lunch. I had a fabulous BLT sandwich . I loved the tomato's which were very ripe and had a wonderful flavor. The bread was homemade and very good. I will definitely be back soon. They also carry fantastic ice cream that is made in Savannah. Love the store.
