The 14 Best Bars In Shoreditch - London - The Infatuation

"This handsome basement bar beneath British restaurant, Counter 71, specialises in American whisky. But forget that and direct your attention towards the expert classics and the London Negroni which tastes like it’s been infused with the soul of an orange. It can be quiet during the week, but the bar staff are always down for a nerdy chat about vermouth." - heidi lauth beasley, jake missing

Lowcountry Review - Shoreditch - London - The Infatuation

"When we first visited Lowcountry in Shoreditch, there was a schnauzer roaming the banquette like he was on a press tour. And it says a lot about this handsome basement bar, beneath British restaurant Counter 71, that a meet-and-greet with canine Clooney was not the highlight of our night. The highlight was the cocktails. This intimate whisky-specialist bar does the classics so well you’ll feel like you’re discovering them all over again, for the very first time. The London Negroni tastes like it’s been infused with the soul of an orange and the martinez comes with a side of genuinely interesting bar chat about how it’s technically the forefather of the martini. This place can be quiet during the week but it’s a great respite from the chaos of Old Street, and the martini flight for two is prime date night material." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

Lowcountry - Review - London - The Infatuation

"This is the kind of special relationship we can get on board with. Counter 71 is a restaurant that champions the British Isles, but its downstairs cellar bar, Lowcountry, is all about smoky American whiskey and Southern shrimp and grits prawn toast. Inspired by the chef’s childhood in Alabama and South Carolina, there are Southern-leaning drinks and the house cocktail is a beer with a shot of bourbon or rye on the side. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

An absolute gem of a cocktail bar. Ryan and the team were so welcoming and looked after us all night. They were happy to talk us through the cocktails in detail and make recommendations based on our preferences. The cocktails are world class - some of the best I’ve ever had. The Fat Fashion was my favourite of the night. The decor is brilliant and the place has a great vibe and atmosphere. I can’t recommend it enough and look forward to coming back.

What a gem a little off the beaten path in Shoreditch. The best selection of bourbon in London, solid cocktails and bar snacks. The staff are delightful as well.

Really cool bar, great staff. I've been several times now. Really good cocktails and a really good selection of bourbons and ryes if you're a whisky lover at good prices. Bar snacks were also delicious, we've ordered a number of them several times.

Exceptional cocktails, some of the best in the city. Exceptional service (friendly, professional). A bit out of the way, but that adds to the feeling of being in a private, underground cocktail bar. I recommend and will go again.

My neighbourhood bar that does excellent drinks. I discovered it when dinning at the Counter 71 restaurant upstairs. Came back for this night that they do guest bartender competition. Great vibe, cool crowd, awesome drinks.

New spot, especially good if you're into American whisky & cocktails. Just came for drinks but said food menu to be added soon. 2nd visit and casual food offering of burgers and fries was very tasty. Great updated selection of cocktails, the bacon fat washed old fashioned was our favourite!

I would give this 100/5 if I could... impeccable service - we felt like we were at our very own cocktail masterclass - Ryan was so fascinating and knowledgeable and took his time helping our indecisive brains choose from the ample options on the menu. Truly an unforgettable experience - perfect for date night or a girly catch up/

Honestly had the worst experience here. Booked two weeks in advance as part of an invitation I received. They were overbooked and didn’t have a table for us. There was no apology and they took no responsibility. We got a couple of chairs in the end, awkwardly positioned and no table. The service was terrible. Shame, as the cocktails were good and it was great inside. I’m sure it will get better, as they are new and they will put this down to bad night/teething issues. But it doesn’t excuse them from being rude and not being good hosts. We were trying to be good sports about it and very understanding, but the server was such a douche that we just had to leave. They should really be ashamed of themselves. Put themselves in the position of the customer.
