Yelp
I honestly never write reviews but I just had the most unpleasant experience and after reading the many one star reviews, I think the dermatologists that own this practice should reconsider who they have selected to represent them in front. I was phoned a day or two before my appointment because they had to reschedule and it was such an extremely rude phone call, I wasn't looking forward to my visit today but to no surprise, I was welcomed with the same flippant and coarse attitude I received over the phone. Rude vatas

Yelp
should have listened to the previous reviews. literally made an appointment twice and it was never schedule. they got me in last minute. then I get there and they made me refill out all of the paperwork and submit insurance cards I had already done online to save time. had to leave never even saw the Dr. so ridiculous I'm kind of in just disbelief.

Sally S.

Yelp
The abilities of the front office staff are a joke. It has happened to me twice that I made an appointment at this location, and it was never scheduled on their end. I was having to call and confirm my own appointment, and there was nothing in their schedule for me. This dermatologist needs to revamp the front office staff before she loses more patients. And by the looks of the other reviews, I'm not the only one.

Yelp
The Dermatologist at this location is great, I have been a patient for 7 years and it has reached a point with the front office staff that I can no longer return.

Marjorie M.

Yelp
I'm am appalled at the pricing for this office. I went in as a new patient and got one lesion frozen off. I was just sent a bill of over $600.00 . So with insurance I now have to pay almost $260.00 to get one lesion frozen off. I. can't afford to go to an office that over charges patients like this! This place is a rip off

Yelp
Never use these guys. Terrible, horrible, fraudulent operation. They will charge you for services they don't deliver. I have never had a worse experience in healthcare.

Yelp
I wish that this had been a better experience. My initial experience with the staff and care here was good (back in 2019) but then went down hill (in 2021). It was clear that the front desk was more focused on efficiency than effective care & communication. I had concern about a prescription and was not listened to, to the extent that I started to question my own understanding of what I was asking for and the response I was getting. I have since switched to another dermatologist, and lo and behold - I am being listened to. Don't go here if you want health care providers that truly work with you.

Lisa V.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVE them!! From the front desk, all the way to the back, the staff is absolutely amazing. Super tentative, encouraging, and will make you feel at ease. I appreciate the care they have provided me. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
I was seen by Maggie Catalano, NP and she took excellent care of me. I had to have a couple warts removed from a really sensitive place on my chest (which I was worried about scarring) and it's healed really nicely. I think it's important to note how much detail she considered. I was getting married that same week and she asked me to come back instead of doing it that day. I would have been devastated if I had went through with the procedure that day and it showed in my dress. I think her bedside manor is absolutely wonderful and the fact she asked me questions and took the time to consider my future plans was really brilliant. Thanks so much! I will be handling all my dermatology and Botox needs here! :)

Yelp
Kind, caring staff. Dr. Carretero did an extremely thorough Full Body Check. She addressed my concerns and answered my questions. Highly recommend this office.

Yelp
Sketchy. I went in for some postpartum skin issues - broken blood vessels and 8th-grade worthy acne. 1. IPL Procedure She did IPL to remove the blood vessels. The reason i know she didn't do a good job on the IPL is because i got a second one done by someone else (urbanlaserdenver . com). Not only was the procedure more targeted to problem spots on my face; she includes this follow up appointment where she does extractions and stuff that make the original IPL treatment much more successful. 2. Antibiotic She prescribed me an antibiotic for acne. She only wanted to work with this one specialty pharmacy - Summit. And prescribed a time-release version of the drug, which my insurance is balking at because its way more expensive; and two pharmacists told me the time-release version isn't necessary to treat acne. So between the specialty pharmacy and how hard she's making it to get a version my insurance will pay for and that pharmacists say will work, is this woman in bed with the pharmaceutical companies? What else could explain this behavior?

Yelp
Dr. Carretero is alright but honestly I'm leaving the clinic because her front desk staff are so rude. They make even the simplest interaction difficult and aggressive. Its amazing to me that they refuse to fix this problem.

Yelp
My Mother-in-law made an appointment to see Dr Carretero at the beginning of the summer with respect to hair loss due to stress. Upon arrival, she was brought into the examine room and asked how they could help her today. The young woman took a look at her scalp, pushed her hair to the side, and replied, "Rogaine for women, not men or you will grow facial hair." My mother-in-law then asked to see the Doctor for a first opinion. The young woman said she would check to see if she was available. Dr. Carretero came in a few minutes later, annoyed like she was being interrupted, and said the same thing as the young woman who was sent in to handle the "Doctor's appointment" my mother-in-law made. If you would like to be treated like a woman who doesn't matter, isn't asked about why she is stressed and losing her hair, and isn't worth the Doctor's professional/personal time, please, by all mean's make an appointment here!

Kelly C.

Yelp
Incredibly unprofessional staff. I felt like I was bothering these people the entire time I was there...in and out in about 10 minutes and still don't feel like I was taken care of. Also was unable to fill any "prescriptions" Dr. Carretero prescribed because of their contract with Summit Pharmacy. Was ensured by the front desk I would get a text/phone call from the pharmacy confirming prescriptions and 5 days later still have not had any contact whatsoever. I urge everyone to stay as far away from this place as humanly possible if you are looking for competent healthcare and people who give a damn about their profession.

Yelp
I initially booked an appointment here because of two recommendations from friends and heard great things. I had to cancel my first scheduled appointment due to slipping on ice after a knee surgery and wasn't able to drive immediately after. They were understanding and rescheduled me. I just called to reschedule my next appointment for tomorrow morning because thankfully I was able to book a last minute COVID vaccine this afternoon, and didn't want to cancel last minute tomorrow just in case I had a reaction/feeling too sick to come in. I'm also assuming all doctors offices are not allowing patients if they're showing any sort of cold-like symptoms with or without a vaccine. The receptionist was extremely rude when I asked to reschedule and said I would be charged a $50 cancelation fee since it was my second time rescheduling and it was less than 24 hours in advance. But if I flat out cancelled, there wouldn't be a $50 fee? (Also, please note there was absolutely nothing mentioned in any previous conversation or confirmation text/email about a fee, and I was never asked to give my credit card information to make the appointment). I work in customer service myself, and I completely understand there are certain situations where a cancelation fee must be implemented, especially if someone is flat out cancelling with no intention of rescheduling within 24 hours and the customer is aware of it. But trying to charge someone $50 to RESCHEDULE because they're able to get a COVID vaccine? Ridiculous. Again- I completely understand the necessity of having a cancelation policy or fee, but it has to be communicated by the business up front. Especially during these times, I personally think it's beyond heartless to attempt charging someone $50 for rescheduling because someone is able to get a COVID vaccine to prevent canceling the day of the appointment if they're not feeling well. (Again, possibly having a fever and possibly showing symptoms.) I heard the doctors in this office are fantastic, which is why I booked here to have a full body scan. But the unprofessionalism of their front office completely turned me off, and I will be sure to take my business somewhere else in Denver.

Yelp
Don't go here. Terrible customer service and staff. I went in for a microderm procedure and their machine wasn't working. I wasted 20 minutes waiting for the tech to figure out how to work it, she couldn't so I left on the grounds that there would be discount next time I came in. I called back to try again, giving them the benefit of doubt, and they said "I am sorry, no discount as the machine was working last time, she just didn't know how to adjust the settings when you were here". Sheesh, not my problem. I had been here once before and it is worth noting that there is nothing spa-like about their micorderm procedure either - they quickly wipe your face with a harsh dry towel beforehand and then don't even care to wipe off the millions of dead skin cells with a warm cloth when you're done. Pay a little more money and go elsewhere - it will be far more enjoyable. I will never go back.

Yelp
I recently moved to Denver and I am so happy that I found Dr. Carretero. I feel like doctors are trying to flip patients as quickly as possible in their day but Dr. Carretero isn't like that. She treats you like a human and let's you ask questions. She's also very real. I can be a bit of a hypochondriac sometimes and she helps bring me back to earth :) The office is adorable and her staff is very friendly. If you need a new Dermatologist, this is your lady! Don't wait because her schedule books quickly!

Yelp
I looked through the low-rated reviews to figure out what a lot of customers were complaining about, which basically was parking and staff service. For parking, there is free street parking. Very simple. As for staff service, I haven't had a rude experience yet, mostly because I've been kind in return. Makes a difference. An outlier is insurance, but if you call in advance (like you should with all practitioners) you'll prevent an insurance difficulty by determining whether or whether not you will be covered for a certain service. More importantly, Dr. Carretero's professionalism and experience is quite adequate to my standards. I've been going to multiple dermatologists for over a decade and I'm glad that I've found the light at the end of the tunnel. Dr. Carretero provided me great advice on skin treatment, honest feedback, and alternative solutions. She has a welcoming and comfortable personality, so I didn't hesitate to be open about my skin concerns. I also just did a microdermabrasion facial and I can already see that my skin is improving. It will take more rounds, but the staff there knows what they are doing. Please keep in mind that other reviews may be subjective and written by low-tolerance folks. Thank you, LoHi Derm!

Yelp
Very rude and unhelpful reception staff. Worn down facilities. They sat me in this very strange storage room by myself for no reason, when there is a decent reception/lobby area. They wouldn't let me leave this room.

Yelp
Very quick and easy! The doctor introduced herself by her first name and got straight to the point. I came in to figure out how to better treat my acne, Catherine (Dermatologist) asked me some questions, gave me a sample for the weekend and then gave me the subscription. Done and done. Hopefully, it works!

Yelp
Terrible billing practices!!! They typically prefer to Bill the patient for copays, so when I insisted on paying in person, and they accepted, they ended up double billing me. They sent me the bill for the CO-pay I had already paid every month for more than a year. Each month I received the bill I either called them and left a voicemail or emailed them, explaining that there was a billing discrepancy that needed to be resolved. They never ONCE responded, and just kept sending the same bill. Eventually they sent my $35 copay to collections. Seriously?

Yelp
Can't recommend this place enough for all your skin needs - especially getting your annual skin check! Common folks, we live in Colorado and are high risk for skin cancer, make an appt! Dr. Carretero is wonderful!

Al A.

Yelp
I'm not sure if Dr. Carretero is a bit dense or just doesn't really care about treating acne patients, but my experience seeing her was perhaps the worst dermatologist appointment I've ever had. She spoke to me as if I had no knowledge of acne, my body, and explained certain medications to me as if I was dumb (even though I explained in detail I was already familiar with her suggestions because I've already taken them). It seems this office only wants your money because both times they recommended microdermabrasion, which is a treatment used to diminish the appearance of acne scars, however it doesn't make sense to even pursue an expensive post-acne treatment when I'm still suffering from acne. Some of the other less than intelligent things she has said to me include: not to worry about long term antibiotic use/resistance because new antibiotics are being formulated (???? So I'm supposed to just accept a drug that will foster the growth of resistant bacteria and disrupt my digestive health?). I also mentioned that I identified sugar as a trigger factor in my acne and she looked me straight in the face and said "well sugar actually doesn't trigger acne, it's alcohol that can trigger acne" ..... right. As if alcohol isn't PURE sugar. And for the record, I don't drink. This office only wants to push expensive treatment options not covered by insurance in order to get more $$. If that wasn't bad enough, the doctor treated me as if I had never dealt with acne or seen a dermatologist before. Don't bother wasting your time here.

Yelp
I honestly feel like Dr. Carretero not only has no idea what she's doing with me or treating me for but honestly acts like she doesn't give a shit either. She is never prepared/reviewed my file to remember what treatments I've already tried nor does she spend the time you'd think an experienced doctor would explaining treatment options. I always feel rushed and skirted out or get told by her very, VERY unpleasant staff about shocking diagnoses where bedside manner really would help. I know she's supposed to be one of the best but after months of trusting this practice I feel mislead, mis-cared for and clearly mis-diagnosed. Just want to share so you're not lured by reputation of a doctor who clearly has too many patients to actually give a shit about the ones who aren't cosmetic.

Yelp
It is disappointing having zero help from a staff like the one at Lower Highlands Dermatology. Their front desk personnel is rude and not helpful at all. Prescriptions that have been filled were filled out wrong, and continued to offer no help to resolve the wrongfully filed script. I am in shock that anyone goes here. It is their job to help health/skin issues of their patients, and they are doing horrible. I would not recommend anyone going here and am excited to take my business elsewhere. Thanks for nothing Lower Highlands Dermatology!

Yelp
I booked an appointment with Dr. Carretero but when I got there I was told my appointment would not actually be with her, but with one of her staff. They checked for cancerous moles and told me they weren't sure about one but I should get it removed "just in case." I asked if it would be covered by my insurance and they said yes. Later, I got a very large bill not only from the dermatologist but another one from the lab they sent it to as well and they were very unhelpful when I called the front desk multiple times to inquire about why this was. Seemed to me like this wasn't even necessary in the first place and they were just trying to get money off of me. Will not be going back.

Kelsey A.

Yelp
I saw Dr. Carretero for a skin cancer screen as well as concerns for acne. Her bedside manner was lacking & at no point did I feel she was able to provide compassionate care. I was told since I am trying to conceive, "Well, since you are trying to get pregnant, there isn't much we can do." When asked if I should discontinue my current skin care regimen, her response, " It doesn't matter, it's probably not helping." Skin is so personal & Dr. Carretero did not provide any compassion for me in that moment. I believe my face to face time with her was less 10 minutes, I received a non-itemized bill of $110, which I happily paid, but was referred to " billing" for a break down of my costs. Overall, I have no plans to go back. At the bare minimum, skilled staff should be able to be kind to a patient & that was not present here.

Yelp
Scheduled an apt to have something looked at. While I'm there they tell me I'm due for my annual (not a new patient). I asked if they could fit me in with my already scheduled apt as I'm standing there and she tells me the doctor has done too many today and can't add me, even though I'm already seeing the doctor and have a 45 min window apt. So I said can I see her today and tie in an exam under this copay? Nope. Waste of time. This is your industry, understand people are leaving work to see you and figure out what we need before we show up. Had you called and told me this prior I would have rescheduled to combine. Doctor who doesn't care about her patients.

Yelp
So sad to share this. It's been 6 months. I have a hypo-pigmented scar on the bridge of my nose from IPL. The tiny spot I asked to get "zapped" is fine and healed. But while I was laying on the table, the doc decided to "hit" other spots. Ones I didn't see or approve of. Two of them blistered immediately- before I got home. And by evening had burst. I called the next day and asked for a game plan. It took them 4 days to call back. I kept in touch throughout the healing process. Did everything I was told. I never received a call from the doc. I shared photos via email and all. Now I have a white scar down the bridge of my nose. I'm told that there is nothing I can do. I'm so so so sad. I've cried a lot already. The next call is to a couple plastic surgeons, but I'm told that when something is HYPO pigmented, there's not a lot of hope. Something becomes white when the burn is so deep it destroys the melanin. I'm gonna keep being hopeful b/c I have to, but please be mindful at this clinic. Over communicate. Be a self advocate. Or go somewhere else. I'll tell you all one thing- you're beautiful and whatever u think is wrong or needs a little help will become invisible to you if you are looking at the scar I'm looking at. I don't notice a single wrinkle any more. Anyway, good luck, be careful, it's your face, and know how beautiful you are without the "help."

Yelp
I love coming here. I can always get an appointment, and they get me in quick for reoccurring cysts. They also don't make you "wait a year" if something looks funny. They will remove the moles anyway, which I like.
google avatar

Emily N.

Yelp
I have been seeing Dr. Carretero for years now and I have always received excellent care from her & her staff. It is so nice to be able to go in for my annual "mole patrol" and walk out looking 10 years younger too! Additionally, the office itself is gorgeous with an amazing view of Denver and has a spa-like atmosphere that I wish all of my doctors had.

Resident N.

Yelp
This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a doctor. Dr. C wasn't honest with representing her work. There is a big difference between removing and shaving moles. Shaved moles can grow back, removed are gone forever. I didn't know she was shaving them and that they could grow back because she never mentioned it. A little spot was left on one of them. On top of that she had an attitude and was rude. Her nurse assistant was rolling her eyes and the front desk girl didn't know what she was doing with my insurance information. Dr. C said it would cost $100 per mole because insurance won't cover it. However I received an enormous bill from the lab charging me extra money. I called to complain about misrepresentation. Dr.C wasn't cooperative saying that she was "clear" on the price (she wasn't). I finally called the lab and they told me that the doctors' office never gave them my insurance info (which they had) and that's why they were charging me. The charge was removed by the lab after I gave them my insurance information. I suggest you avoid this place.

Abryanna A.

Yelp
I have been a patient since 2014! I am glad to say that I continue to return for services. I started going to the office because I suffered from acne, for 4 years prior, and had seen various dermatologist. Dr. Carretero and her team have helped with the acne beyond my expectations. Not only is my cystic acne gone, they have also treated my scars. I have had microdermabrasion and IPL treatments to get rid of the scaring. My face looks younger in my mid 30's than it did in my 20's with the acne. Overall, I have had nothing but good experiences with the staff and will continue to be a loyal patient.

L S.

Yelp
Receptionist is really not helpful and has an overall bad attitude. Don't know her name but have called the office for help with prescription renewals and she is rude.

Yelp
Worst experience ever in 20 years of getting botox. I was referred by a close friend of Dr. Carretero and I might as well have been a homeless person begging for free botox, for the way I was treated. I made an appointment online for BOTOX which is offered/adverstised online, yet when I arrived was told they "don't keep it at the office but can get it in". So I was railroaded into Xeomin which did next to nothing. It literally lasted two weeks. When I called to ask for a touch up I was scheduled and the entire office staff was defensive upon my arrival. I didn't want to spend another $480 when I had just been there 6 weeks prior. The Dr. informed me that she would lose money and couldn't do any less than $240 and used Dysport around my eyes only. When that did nothing, she told me my cheeks were pushing the crows feet and making it worse! WOW, insult after insult. She did 3 "shots" on each side for crows feet and I was scheduled to come in AGAIN for more on August 1, to spend even MORE money, another $240 for the forehead! If I were new to this, I might have continued to fall for the scam, but I called my plastic surgeon (key word-plastic surgeon) from Chicago that I went to for years, he assured me I wasn't crazy and this was not right. He explained it was most likely diluted quite a bit and you need 2-3 times MORE Dysport than Botox. SO, when I went in today, under the guise of getting a touch up (7 weeks after the FIRST appt. and $720 later), I was met with rude staff, defensive conversation and was now told that my "11's" were not able to be fixed because, at rest they are permanent lines. THEN WHY DID YOU TAKE MY MONEY TO FIX THE VERY PROBLEM I CAME IN TO SOLVE 7 WEEKS AGO???? She offered me a free facial because I was unhappy? REALLY? Have your staff do grunt work that costs YOU nothing, after you've taken my money and given me NO results? NEVER have I been treated so poorly nor have I ever spent that much on botox in such a short amount of time! My face would be FROZEN had I been at a REAL DOCTOR who knows what they are doing and doesn't rip people off by diluting the product. I am appalled at the rude comments and the lack of effort to solve the problem! Throw your money out the window and let it land on someone who it might actually help instead of giving it to this ripoff artist. It would've been so much easier to make things right than let me continue my bad reviews. But apparently, she can afford to lose clients.

Imran R.

Yelp
My experience with the Nurse Practitioner at this location was a good one and so this is not about the course of treatment I recieved. This is about an issue that arose from a miscommunication by the office about my prescriptions. I addressed the issue with the office manager and did not recieve anything close to what would be considered good customer/patient service. For this reason I would not recommend anyone use this office because office managers play a pivotal role with any issues that may arise with the office, especially financial ones.

Yelp
This is a great dermatology office. The staff is very helpful and friendly! Dr. Carretero is very knowledgeable and knows what she is doing. The office itself is very pretty and has a great view of downtown. Highly recommend!

Yelp
This place is awful. I go to a dermatologist about acne. I've been going for almost 10 years. I was previously prescribed, by a different dermatologist, two topical creams, one for the morning and one for the evening. They were working alright. I'd have a break out every now and then but it was mostly under control. One of the creams was fairly harsh on my skin and I did suffer from chronic dry skin which was a bit exacerbated in Denver, but I wasn't exactly vigilant about moisturizing either. This place decided that I needed to abandon both of my topical creams in favor of a different cream at night time and an antibiotic because I was having some dry skin. Fine. I told them my pharmacy was Walgreens and they informed me that I couldn't go to Walgreens because they'd give me the generic version and I apparently NEEDED the brand name version. This seemed a little fishy to me but I consented. On my way out, I scheduled a follow-up appointment and the receptionist gave me an appointment card. In the mean time, this pill was NOT working for me. I was having break outs all the time, chronic headaches, and the antibiotic was causing my fingernails to split and crack. I went in for my appointment, which was conveniently scheduled RIGHT before I would lose my insurance and was told that no, my appointment was not when my appointment card indicated, if was in fact in a month. Given that this was their error and that I was about to lose my insurance, I asked them to please squeeze me in because what I was prescribed was not working. They said no, and that my "trial period" for the medication wasn't up and therefore my insurance wouldn't pay for anything else. This was said to me without anyone even consulting my insurance and seems like a complete lie. I've worked with other doctors in the past when a certain pill was having unexpected side effects and ALL of them immediately prescribed me something else with no hassle from my insurance company. I question whether I needed to be switched off of my original prescription or just advised to use a dermatologist recommended moisturizer. I feel as though this doctor was getting some sort of benefit from prescribing me this particular pill, which HAD to be brand name. I'll NEVER go back.

Yelp
Be careful to confirm that your visit will be covered by your insurance company. I asked and they said they bill Cigna, but then I got a $280 bill because while they will bill Cigna, they are not a provider. When I called to find out what went wrong, the apathy of the office staff was ridiculous. I was told that they don't know if they are providers and it's up to the patient to determine that. While I agree it is my responsibility to check, I would think they would also know this - and be honest when someone asks if their insurance will cover the visit. Dr. Carretero is great but the office staff need to be trained.

Yelp
We selected Dr. Carretero originally based on the office location. But after further research discovered that she was from Michigan (as are we) and of course, wanted to support her practice. I called to schedule our first appointment for a yearly check up and almost hung up on the receptionist... She could not have been any more condescending or rude!!! This woman sounded angry that all we wanted to do was schedule a yearly check up... Really?? After the appointment was made... I decided that everyone has bad days and maybe this was the receptionists day to be miserable. We showed up early for our appointment and once again the woman at the front desk was less than thrilled that we were there! It took a lot of convincing to keep my husband from walking out the door! However, we stayed and went thru with our scheduled time. Although nothing was terrible with Dr. Carretero there was nothing great either. Her personality is not very warm and she had NO emotion about us all being from the same area in Michigan! I guess I treat people differently... I am kind and welcoming!!! Both of our exams came out fine and we decided that if and when we needed a dermatologist we would probably seek out another practice. Who knew that today my husband would wake up with a rash on his eyelid this morning???!!! He stopped into the practice today in hope that Dr. Carretero could quickly look at his eyelid. (BTW this rash was discussed during the initial exam but he was told to come in if and when it reappeared so that it could be properly diagnosed). Doing as he was told was a complete mistake... The receptionist treated my husband as if he was a vagrant off the street. He begged her to talk to Dr. Carretero and the receptionist denied him. She did finally talk to Dr. Carretero who instructed her staff to inform my husband that they "are not a walk-in" clinic and that she had scheduled him an appointment for September. We will be picking up our medical records and NEVER going back!! So much for supporting those with similar roots and background...

Yelp
I've got fair Irish skin and have been in the Colorado sun too long. I was a tad late for the appt, called and they couldn't have been nicer. Got there, enjoyed the Denver skyline view while waiting and totally loved Dr. Carretero as well as the staff. Place is busy but I didn't feel rushed. FYI also goes by PRIMA CLINIC if you're calling 411 for their phone number... Let's face it. In Colorado we're outside a lot. I agree with Kate G - there's no reason not to give yourself the piece of mind and get your skin checked regularly. Have you seen the people with lopped off ears after 75 years of Colorado sun? Do it. I'll be back.

Yelp
I first went to Dr. Carretero because she was close to downtown and there was an available appointment. Man, did I ever get lucky. I have always hated going to the dermatologist because no one wants to talk about how bad their skin is. Dr. Carretero never made me feel uncomfortable, and her frank and easy going manner made me instantly at ease. We talked about why I was there, and went over a couple of treatment options, and though the medicine she prescribed me was super pricey, she also gave me coupon cards that knocked the price significantly down to "affordable" from "OHMYGOD ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" As mentioned by Kate G., she never pushed expensive treatments or skin cream (in fact, she told me to keep using my drug-store Aveeno face stuff) or tried to upsell you, and patiently looked at a mole I was concerned about. I left feeling like everything I needed had been taken care of. I've been back a few times since the initial appointment for follow-ups and they're always quick and pleasant, though I know if I had questions or wanted to try a different treatment route Dr. Carretero would take the time to listen to me and try to find a new solution. I wouldn't trust my face to anyone else, and have recommended her to several friends. I also saw Katharine, the in-house aesthetician, several times. She is absolutely lovely and did wonders for my face. I love her so much, and as soon as my budget gets back on track, I'll be going back for more micro-derm. She's really cognizant about your level of comfort and making sure you're not in too much pain (scrubbing off a layer of skin is bound to hurt, but she makes it as pleasant as possible!). So yeah, if you're looking for a dermatologist that is friendly, servicey and accessible, go to Lower Highlands Dermatology at Prima. Dr. Carretero will do you right.

Yelp
Horrible customer service!!! I was turned away for not arriving 15 minutes early to the appointment. I was told the night before that I needed to arrive 15 mins early but had prior work meetings right before and could not make this early arrival work although I still arrived on time for my appointment. I was told the doctor was running behind but they still turned me away because I didn't arrive early. They were rude and not at all understanding of my situation. They need to give their patients (especially new ones) more than a few hours notice to arrive early and include it in their emails that are sent out to confirm the appointment! Based on my treatment today, I would not recommend this office to anyone.

Yelp
I absolutely love LoHi Derm! The entire staff is very professional, yet fun and warm! I have been coming for a couple of years for Disport, Dermaplanning and for all of my dermatological needs!! Look no further for the best in the business!!! Thanks LoHi Dermatology and Dr. Carretero!! Jamiria V.

Yelp
I've seen both Dr. Carretero and the nurse/aesthetician - Maggie. I came in for one issue and Dr. Carretero proactively pointed out an irregular skin mark I hadn't noticed. And Maggie did a great job of treating my skin - it looks fantastic. I got carded when I went out tonight!

Yelp
I went for wart treatment in February & followed up with several visits. As always, I checked with my insurance to make sure I knew what I would be responsible for paying. However come to find out I could have gone to my follow up appointments without filing a claim for those visits and saved myself over $50 per followup. Now they tell me that & say it's too late now! I didn't receive my first bill until July and find out I owe over $300 out of pocket... my insurance estimated $270 total. When I asked the office why they didn't tell me I could pay just $50 for a followup instead of filing an insurance claim, they said it's not their responsibility to tell me that... how many people are experts at this stuff?!?! Help a customer out! Veronica in billing was happy to tell me what they aren't responsible for & couldn't care less about helping me. Not good customer service & I still have a wart that will need to be treated elsewhere for more $$. The second star is for the doctor's fun personally & good sense of humor.

Yelp
The NP is nice but the Ms. MD was condescending, unfriendly, sour face and did not explained all the services available as well as discourage me to use other services. In addition it is overpriced! The front desk lady extremely unfriendly, unkind and rude just like the doctor. I wonder how the NP was able to have a smile on her face. It must be a horrible place to work. I would NOT recommend. Denver has great places with very kind people.

Yelp
An esthetician (waxing, facials, etc) at a dermatologists office - brilliant! The office is beautiful and easy to get to and Katheryn is fantastic! I have been going to Katheryn for years (before she came to this office) but I LOVE her even more at this location! Free parking, no tipping, and I can bring my daughter along (ie. no babysitter needed!). I go to Katheryn for a Brazilian wax and she does a great job. I never feel uncomfortable and the results are great.

Yelp
I have been going here for a few years and it is time for me to move on. My problem is that they never tell me whats wrong (I had a bad rash in my face for example) and what the options for treatment were. Instead they just gave me a cream an hurried on. Every time I have been there I feel like I left with more questions than I had going in and that I was disturbing them. I pay a lot of money to go to see a dermatologist and I want more then 5 minutes of their time.

Yelp
So mind blown of the call I just made to this office to reschedule an appointment from when I was sick (A week or so ago). I woke up with a fever and was told not to come in but to reschedule when I was feeling better. When I just called back to reschedule, a lady on the phone told me I owed $50.00 for a no-show fee? Shocked, I asked politely why. She put me on a 5 minute hold and then referred to appointments in 2012-2014 (YEARS AGO!) that I had to call and reschedule on...Ultimately, if you have life priorities such as work, family issues, etc. DO NOT book an appointment here. You will be charged $50.00 for not attending. Aren't offices supposed to want your insurance? She just lost mine.
