I come to LPM every year for a birthday meal with my mum. It’s my favourite restaurant — not just in London — but of anywhere I’ve ever eaten across the world. The food is always exquisite. The service however, let us down this time, which was unusual. I waited over 30 min for my drink and had to ask three waiters for it before it eventually arrived, however they did remove it from the bill which was a nice gesture. Our table also wasn’t cleaned up properly between courses which was a bit annoying. The main waiter we had looked as though he didn’t really want to be there… Highlight of the meal for me is always the calamari and any of their fabulous desserts. It’s still my favourite place and I will return again and again! ❤️

We had an amazing experience at La Petite Maison! The atmosphere was warm, friendly, and perfect for both family gatherings and friends’ dinners, with a beautiful decor and soft lighting – even great for a business meeting. I came with my little sister and my brother: the welcome was wonderful. We waited for a few minutes at the bar while our table was being prepared (and it was really quick!). The team was very attentive without being pushy, always giving great advice. We shared a sea bream, a tomato salad, a burrata salad, some gnocchi, and some wine – it was more than enough and the flavors and textures were absolutely outstanding. Honestly, it was a better experience than what I had in Nice and Cannes. Big thanks to the whole team – I will definitely be back!

This French cuisine was new experience of us. Need smart casual dress code. Atmosphere very nice. Most of customers are business people. Food was very nice and fresh. We have tried here first time. Lovely time here and service was amazing.

Just wow. What a great night we had here. The food and drinks were second to none. Service was pleasant and unobtrusive. Celebrated a special birthday here. The staff brought out a cake, and the restaurant sang happy birthday. Truly a night to remember for more reasons than one.

Safe choice for excellent food and very nice atmosphere. I have been going there for few years already. I miss the friendly service I used to get years ago. They should work on that. Every dish we had was excellent . I am loyal to the burrata as a side dish . Fish of the day was great and the crème brulle for dessert was best in class. I would come again.

LPM is one of the best restaurants in London. It has a lovely atmosphere and a beautiful french menu. Everything we tried were just amazing. Especially the tuna tartare was next level.

As a loyal customer of LPM across the globe, I usually visit at least once a week, no matter where I am. Unfortunately, the London branch has been my worst experience so far. We had made a reservation well in advance, yet when we arrived, our table wasn’t ready. We had to wait 20 minutes before being seated, and when we finally were, it was at a table at the far end of the street, which I found quite disappointing. To make matters worse, the food took a long time to arrive, and the service was extremely poor – far below the standard I’m used to at other LPM locations. Overall, it was a frustrating experience that didn’t reflect the quality I’ve come to expect from LPM.

Google
I’ve been to La Petite Maison London many times, and it continues to impress every single visit. The food is always exceptional – fresh oysters, flavorful carpaccio, tender octopus, and perfectly cooked pasta. The desserts are just as memorable. The service is warm, attentive, and consistent, which makes every experience feel special. The wine list is impressive, and I have to mention Alice, the sommelier – she’s amazing. Her knowledge and recommendations elevate the entire dining experience. Truly one of my favourite restaurants in London.

Yelp
The service was wonderful, and the food was great. Hamid was wonderful with my daughter and made her feel like a special guest. The maitre de was also wonderful with our daughter and asked if she wanted something to color with. I had noted we would have a child with us, so they placed us in the "quieter" room, which I think was a good call. We felt very welcome. All the food we ordered were delicious. I would definitely go back. While the food was great, it was the service that would make me want to go back.

Yelp
Having been a patron here for the last 10 years, always on our anniversary (except for Covid and renovation), we were excited about our reservation for last week. Upon arriving, we learned that we clicked the wrong box when making a reservation: We picked the Riviera Room; not main dining room. No description for either on booking site. The Riviera room was very loud (hip-hop music) and next to a crowded bar, artwork was very urban including a naked woman, a bit offensive for us. Management wouldn't accommodate our request to move. So much for our usual romantic dinner. At least we were looking forward to an outstanding meal. This wasn't the case either: my go to favorite dover sole was thin and over-cooked and still had bones. My wife's small serving of pasta with clams and shrimp was watery and lacking any real flavor. Our potatoes gratin and green beans sides though were as good as before. Service though was excellent except that the sommelier (not the waiter) had to be hunted down each time to fill our wine glasses. I'm guessing that management decided that the renovation and rebranding to LPM over the former La Petite Maison was to cater to a different crowd. We will miss the former warm, cozy, quiet, romantic French bistro of years past and will not be returning, especially at this price.

Yelp
Confusing yet educational. Our 13th-to-16th Aperol spritzes felt lighter than the previous ones. As we obviously asked for an Aperol top-up, we were disconcerted with the double charge we found on the final bill. Lesson learnt: the marginal utility of Aperol spritzes declines after the 12th. The place also also charges a 15% service charge. Inflation is not transitory, but if we had felt the need to pay this level of tips we would have taken a flight to NY. Food is ok, but for better bottle service would recommend Il Borro.

Yelp
Good food but super disappointing on service. Were rude and reminded us on at least 7 separate occasions that they needed the table back at a certain time. Even told us it was getting late and we need to order mains now, felt like I was being scolded not out to an upscale restaurant. Last straw was being told we may not be able to order dessert with 20 minutes to go before they needed our table back. Hugely different to the Dubai property. Will not be going back.

Yelp
Every dish from the bread, make your own salad, appetizer, plats to dessert, EXCELLENT! Attentive service and wonderful atmosphere. Lovely Sunday family brunch and very welcoming of children as well.

Yelp
Fantastic service and food all around. The fish game in particular was on point. Arriving at 6pm, the place really began picking up at about 6:30 and got packed from then on on a Friday night. We ordered a bit of everything and it came out when ready which is fine for tapas but at an upscale establishment with multiple diners it makes everything more awkward. This would be my only complaint. We began with the yellowtail carpaccio, squid carpaccio, burrata, calamari, and prawn. Burrata was very chewy and perfectly coupled with fresh tomatoes (of which there were two ripe ones on the table as well to cut and eat as you like). The yellowtail was exceptional sashimi and would rival top sushi joints. Calamari was cooked just right. It super fried but enough to soak in the line and jalapeños. For entrees we had the chicken, John Dory, sea bass, and full fish. The full fish was enough for two and honestly could have served three. It was shown and then deboned and served. Really nice cut and presentation and tasty on top. The chicken was a pass; very basic and just a well cooked rotisserie. The sea bass and John Dory were both thick and juicy and exceptional. Fish is the way to go at Petit. The shared dishes are nice, but experimenting with all the ocean varieties they offer would be recommended in my mind. Expensive at at least 35 pounds an entree but it will fill you up and leave you satisfied. We additionally shared the largest crime brûlée I've ever had. Tasted more of an ice cream than your typical base. Very good and great shareable ending. Wine list was large but a few options under 50 if you're looking to drink at a moderately reasonable price. Dinner was great. Food was on point and service was always as it was needed. Pricy to say the least, but given the quality and the location, a nice meal out was worth the Petit bill.

Yelp
Good enough but more about style over substance. This popular Mayfair eatery looks quaint and inviting from its little mews street. And first impressions inside are that of a small slice of Paris in London with zinc bar and glass curtains. I first came here a few years ago when it was 'the' place for all the pretty people to hang out. Saw Naomi Campbell there too. But I never went back because I thought then, in its hay day as I do now, that it is nice enough but not really all that. Yet I returned with a friend who loves the place and since it had been a while I went in with fresh eyes but unfortunately left with no better feelings for it. First of all the service could have been better. We asked for many things more than once. Food arrival was slow and we spent a lot of time waiting. While polite, there were still incidents such as when asking for a glass of wine suggestion to accompany the main course, the waiter just pointed to the wine menu. It just could have been better. And what is with giving you one slice of bread? Can't you leave a bread basket on the table? When we asked for more, it took ages and had to ask again. By the time it arrived the need of the bread to accompany my friend's dish was unnecessary. The menu I would describe as a glamorized and slightly English take on a classic French bistro menu. It has the usual favourites like a nice steak fritte but here it was a Rib Eye steak and the frittes were chips you ordered as a side, not included with the steak. Instead of a Bearnaise sauce there was horseradish. So not exactly the same old same old which might have been a good thing, except in all honesty I can't say I enjoyed it better than just hitting a standard brasserie. It was all good, but far from amazing. And at those prices it should be. I usually don't quibble about the cost of things, but here I have to say it was way over priced for what they were offering. I didn't even have a starter or a dessert which I usually do, but with 2 glasses of wine and the main it was still as much as going to a Michelin starred restaurant but without the innovative menu or wow factor. It is all a pleasant enough dinning experience, and if you are in the area, why not stop in. But I wouldn't go out of your way to go there as there are just much better places.

Yelp
where's the recession? the restaurant was totally packed on a tues night??? the atmosphere was rather noisy. not a good romantic date place. thanks to robin s. i pre-ordered the whole roast black leg chicken stuffed with foie gras when making reservations for dinner. service was good, fast friendly and efficient. we were kindly advised that the portion for the chicken was good for sharing. so we ordered 2 starters and a side of green beans. fresh lemon and vine ripened tomatoes sit on the table. you cut and eat what you want. a nice touch indeed. the first starter was warm buratta with tomatoes, olive oil and basil. the sweetness of the tomatoes together with the warm creamy buratta was delicious. the onion tart with anchovies was disappointing though. way too sweet with little or no anchovy taste. then came the star event which took more than an hour to cook. the whole chicken is good for sharing among 3 adults! it's that huge. clearly the legs of the chicken were black in colour. i found the chicken tough instead of tender. the foie gras added a richness that made the dish tastier but at the same time quickly filling. the two of us could not finish it. at 55 pounds, it might cause some financial crisis after consumption!:) the side of green beans were overcooked and rather heavily salted. dessert was lemon and vodka sorbet. good palate cleanser but not so strong in the vodka department. a 12.5% service charge is automatically added to the bill. judging by the turnout on a weekday evening, it must offer more than what i have experienced. for now it's only a-ok for me.

Yelp
I was told this is one of the harder restaurants to get into - its rather small but the real reason is the high-quality French cuisine (especially seafood!), extensive wine list, and service. Three of us came here for a late lunch, after checking into our hotel. I ordered the seabass fillet for lunch entrée and a green salad. One of my coworkers opted for the duck breast while another got the tiger prawns. The sommelier was able to help us pick out a nice red wine that balances both meat and seafood. Portion sizes I think were small, but that was expected. My seabass was cooked well for the most part, and the presentation was very elegant with colorful tomatoes and leeks. NOTE: one thing this restaurant is famous for is there seasonal Marimba tomatoes, which are imported from Sicily. They didn't have them during our visit and instead offered regular heirloom tomatoes on the dining table. All of my coworkers who have dined here have raved about the Marimba's - that alone could be a reason for them to choose this restaurant.

Yelp
This would rate at the top for favorite restaurant in London. If you want to dine here be sure to get reservations in advance. It's a small restaurant and seating limited. We started with the white truffle pasta 120 pounds. A special dish but I would say the macaroni was to heavy for the delicate shaved truffles. We tried to request linguine but you know how Chefs do not like you to modify their dishes. The duck and Dover Sole were amazing. Fancy restaurant but they put your bread on the table and leave out a tomato and lemon for you to cut and eat, was interesting. In the picture was a glass if amazing wine, steep in price but worth it!

Yelp
Easily one of the best meals I've had in London. Scallops carpaccio to start was amazing and sea bass baked in salt was so tender it melted in my mouth. Champagne by the glass - good selection and a Sauternes for dessert. Service was impeccable yet not pretentious. The bar staff appear to have a lot of fun while doing their job, which was contagious. I'll be back with friends next time.

Yelp
The quality of the food here is truly incredible. From the burrata to the gnocchi pasta, it was great. The staff was pretty nice as well. My only complaint is that we had an 8:15 PM reservation and got sat almost 30 minutes later. There are also no seats at the bar so you just have to stand near the bar and other tables while staff tries to walk around and it's a little uncomfortable. But the food was really spectacular and something i will always remember.

Yelp
Just a perfect place for summer lunch. Bright room. Delightful, light cuisine. Good complimentary wine list. Nice positive energy. Nothing wrong for a summer lunch.

Yelp
I was there on October 6th for dinner. It is difficult to get a reservation in this lovely expensive French restaurant where all the beautiful people are. We ordered the whole Bronzinni for 2 people for 70 pounds (that's $100 even with the strong dollar). Very well prepared and perfectly cooked. It is a lot of fish so I would recommend a 3rd person to help eat the fish. There were fresh tomatoes-on-stems at the table that the waiter encouraged us to consume. So we did - cut it up and poured olive oil on it. The salad was delicious with a light delicate dressing. I was really full (as I also had to eat the crusty French bread) but we had to try the signature Crème Brulee. I am not a crème brulee fan but it was one of the creamiest and tastiest one I have had. The dinner must have been $400 pounds with wine. If you have money to burn, I recommend this place. Otherwise one can get same experience for a lot less money.

Yelp
The food at La Petite Maison is truly wonderful. If there are two or more of you, it is a good idea to share a few starters, in particular: green bean and foie gras salad, the lentils, langoustine with FRESH mayonnaise and burrata & cherry tomatoes. Every main is exceptional with their ribeye and French fries especially good..

Yelp
We were in London for a week and my favorite meal of the trip was here. The atmosphere is very nice. It's elegant yet lively and not stuffy. We enjoyed fish, chicken, potatoes gratin and green beans with a fine Bordeaux. For dessert we had a pistachio cake that was very yummy.

Yelp
First thought - the rustic, vine tomatoes and lemons as a table centre piece could have worked if the table didn't have a white table cloth .. and if we were in a grotto or village pub -- that was odd. Second thought - a £60 chicken leg!? For some reason the menu doesn't specify that the Blackened Chicken Leg with Fois Gras was for 3 people (hells no I'm not paying £60 for chicken!!), but other than that all was grand, including the £100 per person bill. This place is truly a mix between French and Italian, and the food was somewhat experimental, but with many options that could appeal to most tastes. It was hard to choose. We had: French Beans with Foie Gras - excellent, simple, elegant and something new. Looks more like a side order than an starter though Sardines with Grapes, Tomatoes and Capers - excellent! Nopt typiucally a huge fan of sardines, but the grapes really cut the salty flavour with much appreciated fresh sweetness Carpaccio of Scallops - thought they were joking when the plate looked, like just a plate. The scallops were very thinly cut, and there wasn't a lot to go around, but the texture and the oil/nut/seeds on top made it yummy. This could have been bigger/more impressive. Grilled Ribeye Steak - I don't eat red meat but apparently is was delish! Sea Bream with lemon and herbs - okay, not the best. would be better in a true Italian restaurant. Gratin potato(side) - more please! soooo good and dangerous for the waste line and worth it. All in all I loved the experience. I would definitely go back, and there are only a few French restaurants that I could say that about. The scene was buzzy and attractive, and completely full, so be sure to make a reservation. All tables are good. The wines are great too.

Yelp
La Petite Maison means 'The Little House' in French for those of you that didn't have government mandated french as part of your elementary school curriculum. So, it's easy to understand why you might think you're going to go into this quaint little restaurant and be served by a french grandmother. Not so dear reader, but don't fret, it's not a bad thing at all. Now, full disclosure - I was here with my friend, who is married to one of the chefs. This was her first time eating here as he had just started there 2 weeks earlier. He didn't mention to the kitchen that we were coming in, but they saw us wave at him and the jig was up. There were 5 of us and we made the decision to share everything (yes, it's the concept of the restaurant, but some other reviewers have thought it's weird that dishes come out at different times, just go with it people). This made for a meal that was beyond fantastic as we truly got to experience a lot more of the menu. We each had a starter and a main and shared 2 desserts (our buddy in the back was also kind enough to send out a few additional items from his station). This allowed us to taste approximately 14 different dishes + 3 desserts. We also shared 2 bottles of the house red as well (unlike some of the other diners, we're not made of money and the house red was fine). Highlights for me were: Starters: Carpaccio of tuna, ratatouille, sea bream carpaccio, calamari Mains: Sea bass, sea bream, lamb Sides: Gratinated potatoes (I have to mention them because they were just SO good) Desserts: Pain perdu (french toast with a spice ice cream) The meal was so amazing that we didn't notice our celebrity friend (Michael Caine) sitting next to us until our chef popped out from the back and pointed him out! Service here is a well oiled machine. Yes, it's busy inside LPM, but these guys know what you want before you do and are attentive without being obtrusive. Service matters and these guys get it. Bottom line - this was a FANTASTIC meal and if the cost of dining here didn't require me to fly from Canada to do so, I would happily become a regular.

Yelp
Wonderful service, beautiful restaurant... I went here on a business lunch and was recommended by a colleague to just order starters and share. As well as being able to taste more on the menu this also meant it was more social and we could discuss the food we were sharing. So... we tried the onion tart.... to die for, think thin pastry bottom with an onion puree on top, topped with two tiny slices of anchovy and an olive. Salty, sweet... yum. Then came the tuna carpaccio. Fresh, beautiful fish- faultless. Artichoke salad came thinly sliced and accompanied the other starters beautifully. Minced veal stuffed in mini vine roasted tomatoes and courgettes. Mmmmm.... courgette flowers deep fried and stuffed with anchovy- !!!! Finally king prawns done in olive oil. Simple, the unfussy cooking allowed the prawn to speak for itself! I would definately recommend this place but it is pricey. Go for a special occasion or book your table to coincide with pay day!

Yelp
For so much hype, and having spent time in France, I found it rather unremarkable. Bland service, though my dinner companion and I came without reservations, and the staff were kind enough to squeeze us in. Otherwise we went long periods of waiting: Waiting for waiters, waiting for menus, waiting for an extra napkin, waiting for someone to take our order, waiting for someone to offer more bread. The food was just alright. I had a roast chicken and lemon dish, while my friend had a huge steak. The latter was the highlight of the meal. It was perfection: well-seasoned and tender. My friend was left a bit disappointed as he preferred his steak medium-rare, but it was just under. The tender stem broccoli was good, as were the chips, though nothing out-of-this-world. We passed on dessert, as nothing stood out and we had a show to catch. Again, the service left something to be desired. Our waiter was brusque, and even commented that we would have gotten the full experience had we ordered starters and dessert and coffee, instead of mains and wine only. Since this was not dinner on the cheap and I found the statement rather curious, but perhaps something was lost in translation.

Yelp
The meal I had at La Petite Maison was one of the best EVER. I highly recommend it if you're not on a tight budget. We ordered (* items are recommended): French Beans with Foie Gras - served cold, slightly disappointing *Ratatouille - delicious perfectly cooked and light *Stuffed Mediterranean Vegetables - so tasty very balanced flavor *Lamb Cutlets - very very good Mixed Leaf Salad - good, nothing special *Rib Eye Steak - perfection *Baked Gratinated Potatoes - creamy yummy yum The service was very good: attentive without hovering and they seemed to be very proud of the food. The place was half-empty when we dined (we got in right when they opened at 7) so it wasn't noisy.

Yelp
I've had a few friends mention this as their favorite restaurant in London, so when one of them was in town, we decided to go on a Thursday evening. The restaurant recommends that you order starters and mains to share, and they guided to 5-6 starters and 3-4 mains for a group of 4 people. Since we were a group of 4 girls, we settled on less and got 4 starters and 3 mains and 1 side dish, which I thought was more than enough. For starters, we got the French beans with foie gras, the ratatouille, burrata and tomatoes, and the escargots. I thought the French beans were disappointing, having read about them on a few reviews. I didn't really taste the foie gras, as they were served as cubes tossed with the beans, and you didn't get the same enjoyment as you would have if they had just served a block of foie gras to accompany some bread. I also didn't like that the dish was served cold. The ratatouille was also rather lackluster, as it was just some stewed soft vegetables on a plate but with no particular outstanding flavor. I really enjoyed the burrata and the escargots, especially the sauce that came with the escargots which I can't put my finger on but is more than the typical butter sauce... a type of pesto, perhaps. For our mains, we ordered the grilled sea bream, grilled lamb cutlets, and the roast baby chicken. We also got a side of the potato gratin, which was simply amazing. The roast baby chicken was a flattened piece of chicken, not very large, and easy to cut into 4 pieces that were about a few bites each. It was very moist and well seasoned. I liked the herbs that came with the sea bream, but other than that it was a fairly average fish dish. And the grilled lamb cutlets were good, but not particularly noteworthy. For dessert, we decided on the creme brulee, which is a very large portion and enough to share for up to 6 people. We were very impressed to see a layer of fresh vanilla on the bottom of the dish, and the custard portion was absolutely delicious. All in all, the bill came to 50 pounds a person, including a bottle of red wine to share, which whilst not cheap, was better than I had expected. I thought the food was good but I wouldn't say that this is at the top of my personal list of favorite restaurants.

Yelp
Tonite I was taken advantage of more blatantly by a waiter in a restaurant than ever before in my entire life. My husband and I went for a special dinner with my son and his wife. We had two glasses of wine and two drinks. My husband ordered a glass of rosé for me for 17 pounds. We then went on to have an enjoyable meal. When the check came the rosé was billed at 67 pounds. We suggested to the waiter that we had been mistakenly charged for a bottle instead of a glass. The waiter told my husband that he had shown my husband the 67 pound price when he ordered the wine, however that couldn't be further from the truth. Does Petite Maison need to screw over nice patrons like that? We will never return to any of their restaurants again and we intend to tell everyone we possibly can tell about our experience. 67 POUNDS FOR ONE GLASS OF ROSÈ PLUS TAX AND TIP!!! What kind of idiocy is that???

Qype User (greedy…)

Yelp
For photos see the Greedy Diva @ http://greedydiva.blogspot.com/2010/02/la-petite-maison-nicoise-cuisine-in.html The Peanut Gallery and I spent last weekend eating and guffawing our way around Paris, in our own special tres chic style. TPG even grew a fine, curly 'tache for the occasion. Special Greedy Diva highlights are coming soon. However, suffice to say, many gallons of butter, animal fat and lashings of cream later, I'm not sure my body can cope with more French fare. I can still feel the eclairs au chocolat pulsing through my veins. Fortunately, the menu at La Petite Maison holds promise of fresh, Nicoise cuisine - a bounty of seafood and grilled meats, vegetables, salads and Ligurian oils. A taste of the Mediterranean diet should be just what the doctor ordered. Set on Brooks Mews in a quiet Mayfair cul-de-sac, La Petite Maison is a bright, buzzy, quintessential French brasserie based on a restaurant of the same name (and holding high regard) in Nice. Classic and classy, it's easy to see how it won Tatler's Best Room Award in 2008. It was brought to London by one of the owners of Roka and Zuma, but despite its position in the heart of the well heeled and sometimes stuffy streets of Mayfair, it's surprisingly relaxed and fun. Plates are meant to be shared (although you can just as easily stick to your own if you're not a sharer - perfectly understandable) which enhances the informality, despite the elegance of the food. For me, it's love at first sight. The infatuation only increases as the food arrives. Friends Kerry, Ben, Sarah and Tim join The Peanut Gallery and I as we devour plate after plate of truly delightful fare. As we fawn over the menu, thick slices of crusty bread are continually replenished on the table before us. A large bowl of grassy, green hued Ligurian olive oil takes centre stage on the table along with lemons and tomatoes to be sliced and rubbed into the bread in rustic tradition. We share delicate starters of carpaccio of scallop and a superb dish of thinly sliced octopus in lemon oil which was truly a taste sensation. We're already working ourselves up into quite a flutter. We pair up these lighter choices with some deep fried courgette flowers, with sage, anchovy and onions, and pots of deep fried baby squid which were both perfectly adequate, although proferring slightly less to get het up about. We also decide to share our mains - essentially, of course, out of a spirit of curiousity, gluttony and hedging our bets than any mightier principle of generosity. I choose the turbot with artichokes, chorizo, white wine and olive oil. It's delectable. It's been cooked in stock with vegetables, and is meaty, succulent and satisfying. Tim and TPG each choose the grilled rib eye steak which turns out to be a fantastic piece of Scottish beef, grilled perfectly medium rare and cut into thick, mouthwatering strips to share. The grilled veal chop is gorgeously creamy, while the grilled lamb chops with smoked aubergine are tender and pink. With all this, we share sides of green beans and crisp fries. Usually, there's at least one dud in a field of so many. But it was impossible to pick a winner. There's a clear leader on the dessert front as far as I'm concerned - and thankfully, it's mine. The warm chocolate mousse with malt ice-cream is so good I want to clear the room, find the vessel its stored in, and take a head first dive. Even TPG who has an annoyingly inexplicable aversion to chocolate mousse agrees it rocks. His thin apple tart with vanilla ice cream looks a little on the light side, although he wolfed it down before I had the chance to try. The pear clafoutis was eggy and scrumptious (according to the eggy dessert lovers among us - such things are not my first choice, but it was lovely even to me). I'm mentally preparing for a revisit already, even if only to try what must surely be a heavenly black leg whole chicken with foie gras (the aforesaid chook has been much hyped by reviewers in the past, which may or may not be a good sign). La Petite Maison is not cheap - expect Mayfair prices (at around £60 per head for us plus drinks). But every dish was fantastic, as was our wine from the largely French wine list. This is high class, rustic, wholesome fare - set in a chic, flirtateously French ambience. Somewhere for a romantic tete a tete, or a wine guzzling extravaganza with like minded friends, it's got it all. (Except the Nice foreshore.)

Yelp
Had several dinners there since the opening and finally got to write a note on LPM. In my opinion, one of the top french restaurants in London. The only "problem" with the restaurant is the abundance of equally excellent choices on the menu. My favorites are: - Pissaladière - Haricots Verts with Foie Gras - Salad of young artichokes (in season) - Tapenade - Cod Provencale - Lechato lamb, - and of course duck a l'orange For desserts, Pan Perdu and marinated prunes are very well worth the calories. Reservations are required, the restaurant is very busy.

Yelp
Really rate this place as it simply delivers great tasting food in an enjoyable atmosphere. They bring food whenever it is ready which is a random but actually adds something to your meal. I wish the Dover sole wasn't so good which allow me to order something else! The creme brûlée is big

Yelp
If giving this place ZERO stars was possible, I would. Had the worst experience here. Our waitress had extreme attitude. Unfriendly and uninterested. The place was out of a few things from the menu which kind of sucked considering the only reason we went was because my wife had heard great reviews from friends that have dined at the one in Dubai, and those things were not available the night we were there (in London). Ordered the gnocchi, carpaccio of yellow tail, tiger prawns and steak. The tiger prawns were good, but as a main course, 2 prawns sliced in halves (so technically you have 4 pieces) is not enough. Even if you order a starter. Way overpriced for what it was. The waitress was so hostile that we didnt even bother looking at the dessert menu and decided to leave. When we got back to our hotel, my wife noticed she had a voice mail from the restaurant a few hours before our reservation. The lady in the message had said that she had to cancel our reservation because there was a fire in the kitchen and the restaurant was closed for the evening. Obviously we didn't hear the message in time, and still went to the restaurant. That might explain why they didn't have certain items available from the menu, but why did she lie about the restaurant being closed and that she had to cancel our reservations??? The restaurant was packed when we got there, and packed when we left. So clearly they weren't closed. Don't worry la petite maison, you didn't want us to come, we will not be going back.

Yelp
I have always loved going to eat there but after my last experience not again. I went with my mother for lunch and it was just the worst service and the food was average. I think they thought we had come separately because there was no other explanation for why my starter came first after I finished they brought my mothers after she finished they brought my main course!!?! After such ridiculous service the £180 bill really wasn't worth it. They were always an over priced restaurant but the food. Can't say that anymore.

Yelp
Fabulous French bistro in the heart of Marylebone. One of my favorite spots in London...I try to eat here every time I get to the city--the haricots verts are *to die for.* Service is great, atmosphere is even better. I've been early in the evening (with my older mum) and later in the evenings (with friends) and it's always stellar. Recommended.

Yelp
What an absolutely charming, or should I say charmant, restaurant. Understated elegance is the theme of the decor, very country french shabby chic, which lends well to romantic date nights and celebratory dinners with the family and expense account business dinners. The food is, without exception, spectacular. The food is very french in ithe use of fancy ingredients, but a bit more Italian in the simplicity of presenation. Every single dish embodies haute cuisine, while extolling the virtues of simplicity and just enjoying delicious, fresh ingredients.

Yelp
With a Nicoise-centric menu, La Petite Maison is modeled after its famous sister of the same name in Nice. It was an extremely hyped-up opening, so I went eagerly but expected to be disappointed, as I invariably am with anything that gets too much buzz. Also, it's located in the ambiguous heart of Mayfair, so it was sure to break the bank. I was wrong. I was the opposite of disappointed - and have been the opposite of disappointed each time I've been back. Cheap? No. But go with friends and share the dishes (as you're meant to), and you'll be pleasantly surprised at how far your money can go here as compared with other London restaurants. The food is fantastic - personal favourites include the french beans with foie gras, burrata with tomato relish, the truffle macaroni, the monkfish and the grilled veal. The menu has stayed consistent, but I've yet to try their "star" dish: a whole black-leg chicken stuffed with foie gras (you have to order it in advance).

Yelp
La Petite Maison was high on my list (yes I made a list) of restaurants to try during my visit to London. After briefly getting a little lost on the way we arrived. The white tables were starting to fill up and it seemed that quite a few groups were out on business dinners. We ordered Coquilles St. Jacques as an appetizer. Perhaps my Father's version is different, but I was not expecting this dish to come out the way that it did, which was a sort of congealed flattened thing. None the less it was still tasty, but certainly not what I was expecting. For our main courses: I ordered the Salt Baked Sea Bass, my boyfriend ordered a steak, and we split a bottle of wine that I can not remember the name of. The food was delicious! My overall experience of La Petite Maison was very pleasant. The food was expensive but worth it and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. I'm happy that we were able to try it!

Yelp
I wanted to hate it but it's just toooo good. It's a bit snooty when you first approach but we had excellent service and even better food. Great wine recommendations as well. The only draw back is the very expensive bill. Great for a special night out!

Yelp
I've been here three or four times now (over the past year). Service has always been fantastic. Food is on the pricier end, but every dish has always been worth the money. Very simply done food that doesn't try to hard to be edgy or modern. Just a few simple ingredients that are cooked perfectly. Would recommend the lentils and gnocchi, but honestly everything there is delicious.

Yelp
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch this afternoon on the patio at La Petite Maison. We had the Mediterranean Vegetables in olive oil with feta and the rib eye steak, both were fantastic. I also must mention the outstanding service we received, far superior than many restaurants here in London. It was not inexpensive but it would be a great choice for a nice meal.

Yelp
I was told about this place when I was at a private cooking course, and one of the more fun people I was cooking with mentioned this one one of her favorite places to eat in London. I put it on the list. Then a few weeks later, my parents were in town, and we happened to see it, so decided to check out the menu. Unfortunately, my dad zeroed in on the £60 stuffed chicken and quickly vetoed the idea. (We had been at some fairly expensive places during the week.) We tried to explain it was a WHOLE chicken and served more than one, but he was going to have none of that! Fast forward to almost a year later. I had to get some nice shoes, so on Good Friday we headed into central London. Since we live in the suburbs, we often don't get the chance to dine in London, and we took the opportunity to go out for a nice meal. We managed to get last minute reservations at 6:30 for two people (of which they would need the table again at 8:30). It was surprisingly empty when we arrived, considering they claimed the 6:30 booking was the last available time. To be fair, it was fully seated by the time we left. We looked over the menu and the wine. I ordered the beignets (not like Louisiana style, but really fried squash blossoms) and the other half ordered the scallop carpaccio. They told us there was a strict "everything comes out when its ready" policy. That sounded fine. The beignets arrived. We both tried it, and I slowly worked my way through, feeling incredibly guilt that I was the only one eating and also not wanting my deliciously warm, crunchy, fried squash to get cold and disgusting. I finished. No carpaccio. It finally came out a bit later, and it looked amazing. (It was amazing). The mains were rib eye steak (for me which I tried to order rare, but the waitress recommended that it might better medium rare) and orange duck (for him). The beef was actually quite rare, so perhaps ordering rare would have been a bit too much. Needless to say the meal was quite tasty. The desserts really shined! I ordered a banana sticky toffee with peanut foam (and boy, was it peanuty, and delicious). He ordered warm chocolate mousse (which sounded strange, but was really just like a giant, runny, delicious souffle). Pair that up with some Maury, and it was a great time to be had. There was a nice rustic and laid back feel. Even though it says dressy above, most people were dressed casually. There were some amazing looking heirloom tomatoes on the table which I cut into as part of the starter. The bread was also quite tasty, delivered sliced and warm to the table. All in all, it was a great time. The only letdown was the lack of timing in the kitchen. I know they say things come when they're ready, but you'd think that (like most kitchens), there should be some way of timing things a bit better. To fix that next time, we'll probably just order starters to share, then it doesn't matter which come out first (which, to be honest, is probably the intention of the restaurant). Everyone was completely friendly, even when I asked them about the Eisch wine glasses. I was curious if they were the ones that were supposed to have breathable glass (which apparently now may be a false claim). No one knew what I was talking about. It was also quite fun bantering with the hostess about her stealing my new shoes. I'm definitely going back again.

Yelp
One of the best meals I've had in London. You need to try the truffle burrata and the french toast desert

Yelp
Well La Petite maison did not disappoint, a really good news for Mediterranean food lovers in London. First when it launched I was skeptical and did not run to try it in spite of the PR buzz. On the contrary, I hate this kind of so obvious PR-led editorial enthusiasm that announces the launch of the new restaurants in London from those who can afford big PR budgets. But with a good friend in town we decided to give it a go and frankly we had a great time. The vast choice of mainly typically Mediterranean and nicois starters and main courses can be shared between guests (you can safely order 2 or 3 of them for 4 people), all were really tasty and well prepared. I have to confess that I am biased as I am from Nice and for me this is one of the best cuisine in the world, but the London version delivers excellent food and just misses a bit of the excentric authenticity of the original version (those who know the owner in Nice will know what I mean). Upmarket clientele, not cheap but quality food in a nice surrounding, so try it and tell me what you think about the nicoise cuisine! Update: Just tried it again yesterday evening outside on their terrasse. This is great as you dont need to book. Perfect service and food. I upgraded to 5 stars and one of my top places in London. Update 2: Back again and still Numero Uno - Best restaurant in London, better than the original version in Nice, only negative that I had to order in English while I can order in French in most places in London these days, come on just stick to local nicois and nicoises for the service and I give you 6 stars on Qype!

Yelp
We came here at the suggestion of Gwenyth Paltrow. Okay, Gwenyth's blog. Either way, she did us right. The service was excellent, the food was spectacular.

Yelp
Excellent lunch with paired wines. Our table shared plates of roasted chicken, ribeye steak, green beans and scalloped potatoes. Starters featured a variety of small dishes from burrata to beets and a pasta course in the middle. All wonderfully flavored and well prepared. We hope to return on our next trip.

Yelp
Always on my list when ever I am in London - u can order the baby lamb in advance .. Or simply go for the burrata cheese - marinated beets - lentil salad - baby chicken - Dover sole with mustard - lamb chops- fries and the potato gratin - last but not least pain perdu and creme brûlée

Yelp
Had a late lunch in this packed restaurant (make a reservation). The couple sitting next to us recommended to share platters and the baby lemon chicken-we thank them. Started with a wonderful Niçoise salad and proceeded to the chicken finishing with the profiteroles. Truly excellent meal. A bit pricey, but the plates are large enough to share.

Yelp
I absolutely agree with those who call this place a delight - it's very apt. The atmosphere, the light decor and the food are all lovely and soul-enhancing especially on a hot day or when the sun's shining. I would say that one problem lies in the fact that if it's greay and dark or especially cold the vibe of this place isnt quite so appealling. The problem stems from the fact that it has sucha narrow Nicoise focus that the menu is geared towards a Med climate - and I dont know if they've noticed but we dont get much of that here. The food is still good though and I'd suggest that they cook fish here better than perhaps any other restaurant in this part of town. I love the way they encourage you to share everything too.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious, fresh, innvative food! Ambiance and location are both great, usually the hype does not live up but I have to admit after much reluctance I tried it and I have been won over!

Yelp
Elegant. Cozy. Starched white tablecloth. French service at its best. Wonderful and surprising new tastes that get your attention: how do they do that (i am an amateur chef)? Ask Christina how (she trains the staff in food offerings). We will be back.

Yelp
Eagerly anticipated my first visit to La Petite Maison, being a fan of its parent in Nice (and the scary patronne, Nicole) and went for an early lunch - which was just as well, as the place had been booked up for later sittings several days before. The signature dish - poulet aux fois gras - is a large black-leg chicken stuffed with fois gras for two and must be ordered in advance, which I duly did - and then fielded no less than four calls on my mobile before I reached the restaurant, to determine if I was still coming (I was - and on time) and then the exact time that it should be served. Very correct - but a touch uber-enthusiastic nevertheless. We started with the famous salade d'artichauts - roughly chopped artichoke with parmesan - perhaps a little too much parmesan this time - washed down with a first-rate Sancerre Prestige. When the poulet came it was superb - and impressively substantial (see photo). I remember little of the rest of the meal as my companion is invariably entertaining but I noted that the menu was a replica of the Nice carte and had on it such dishes as loup de mer en croute de sel for which one formerly had to invest in ticket on the Blue Train to consume. The service was accomplished if not as memorable as in Nice, and the large bright room bore a contented lunchtime buzz and the smell of success.
