Lu Lu Seafood & Dim Sum

From the time we walked in, the service was outstanding. Charlie our server was quite the character and helped explain some of the dishes. We started with an order of crab rangoon and they were savory and crisp. The cups of wonton and egg drop soups were served hot and a good portion size. The entrees we ordered were beef chow fun, sweet and sour chicken and sole filet with Szechuan sauce. The chow fun was packed with noodles and the beef was pretty tender. I wished there was more beef but it was very good. The chicken and fish were both tasty and cooked perfect. Portion sizes were very large. Next time we’ll order the fish with less oil. It Lastly we ordered Chinese broccoli with garlic. It was cooked perfect but wished it had a bit more flavor. We’ll definitely be back.

Great dim sum place in St Louis. The food was freshly made and the service was friendly and helpful. The carts had lots of varieties on them and the staff were tentative to our needs.

Perfect Chinese authentic restaurant #1 in the St. Louis area! The food is incredible! The price is not so high and the food is delicious! Highly recommended!

Customer service was okay, but the dim sum and food did not taste fresh. The textures were also unappealing.

My usual go-to at Lu Lu Seafood and Dim Sum is the Crispy Eggplant, but this weekend I took a detour into their Dim Sum menu. I had a variety of dishes including turnip cakes and spicy tofu, both delivering a delightful blend of flavors and textures. The sticky rice in lotus leaf was a standout, its earthy flavor complemented nicely by the savory garlic green beans. The meal ended on a high note with the egg custard tart, its creamy filling encased in a buttery pastry. All in all, the visit was a flavorful culinary adventure I'm eager to repeat.

Have not had dim sun I’m 40 years and it was so good. Enjoyed every dish. They had lots of serving carts. Staff was super nice

What happened to this place? I ordered General Tso's chicken tonight via Uber Eats and had to get a refund. The chicken was tough and tasted like someone had mixed it with their Hot Pepper Chicken, which I am not a fan of. I used to order from this place often, so it is sad to see the quality go. The last few times I ordered, nothing tasted the way it used to. Because of that, I hadn't bought food from Lulu’s since the summer. I assumed the quality had improved and ordered on a whim. That was a huge mistake. Please, make Lulu’s great again. Sincerely, A disappointed customer.

So visiting from out of town and want to try the local Chinese food here. Since St. Louis knocked down their chinatown for Busch stadium, the chinese have moved to university place on olive Street. Looking at prices online, some of these Chinese resturant prices were abnormally high. Most dishes should run around the 15 to 20 range but alot of resturant here running 30 to 40. Plus alot closed on Sunday oddly. This place was open Sunday, good pricing, and had dim sum. Plus it doesn't look like a take out only place. I was very very suprised by this place. All the dishes were quite good and flavored nicely. the flower tea, although 2.45, was definitely worth it. The shumai was quite big for the portion, as well as the dishes. My non Chinese friends were impressed. What also good was the service. Always prompt with water or explaining dishes. The decor is also very Chinese and authentic which I love. You can tell it's been here awhile. Pricingvwas very good as for 3 dishes and 1 dim sum and tea, the bill was $56. Parking is also plentiful and their store hours are quite good. I won't even bother with the other resturants and will go this weekend for the dim sum. Great place for simple Chinese. If you are expecting fancier, pay more or go somewhere else but this is how authentic Chinese food is. It's hit or miss depending on times.

Lulu's is one of my new favorites! I can't believe it took me to long to finally try it. The food is delicious. The service is fast. The prices are reasonable. We had the egg drop soup, lo mein, general tso's chicken, and a beef dish (I forgot the name).. but definitely get the Lo Mein! It was soooo good!

In all my 33 years of living in St. Louis, I have always driven past this place but had never stopped in until my friend took me there. It's located on Olive in University City. We were sat down immediately and I cannot even begin to tell you the last time I had a good sit down Chinese food. I started with egg rolls and ordered orange chicken for my entree. I am a sucker for those egg rolls! I also ordered some hot tea. I forgot what my friend ordered but it had black beans in it! My orange chicken was delicious. Our service was top notch and I will be back!

Came by for a dim sum brunch and had fun! There aren't too many dim sum places that still have the rolling carts with food that you can choose from, but Lu Lu still has them! This place has almost all the classics (was missing one of my favorites the day we went - taro puffs with pork inside): rice noodle rolls, egg tarts, bbq pork buns, pan fried lotus cakes, chicken feet, sticky rice wrapped with lotus leaves, fried pork with a mochi style exterior, and more. Today we also tried the pan fried pork dumplings and pan fried chive and shrimp dumplings which they cook fresh right next to your table after you order. Both had a great golden crust, but the chive dumplings didn't have much chives. The egg tart crust wasn't super flakey - I'd probably skip these and get them from a bakery instead. The taste of the food itself was good overall, especially for the area, but it's not the best I've ever had. I also like the chrysanthemum tea to go with the dim sum. It's best to order a variety of dishes off the carts and share them family style! Each of the larger tables has a spinning glass plate on it to make it easier to share the dishes. Service is straightforward and kind. The ambiance is casual, but you could dress up if you wanted. There's a parking lot on the side of the restaurant.

Lu Lu's is probably the best dim sum you can find in STL. I have been to this restaurant several times now, all on the weekends when they run their dim sum menu. The quality and quantity of food options heavilyyy depend on what time you go. It is highly recommended to go as early as possible during the day, as options become fairly limited once the lunch rush passes at noon. On my most recent trip there, we were able to get a seat right away when we went right after they opened at 10:30. The restaurant was completely full around the time we left at about 11:30. They had so many different options and I was even offered a bowl of congee, which is a staple in Chinese breakfasts. I would recommend that you do not jump the gun and grab everything you see right off the bat, because there are going to be some dishes that roll out that look later amazing, but you're already too full. This was true in my case as there were options of duck and other meats I would have grabbed in a heart beat if I wasn't already full. There's not really another restaurant like Lu Lu when it comes to sit down dim sum. The food arrives the minute you are sat, and you could be in and out easily under a hour. The service is always good as there are people constantly walking around making sure you have been able to try all the food options.

Another good serving of dim sum and I was stuffed after our meal. TBH it's difficult for me to stop ordering as the goods go by on carts. Was super busy on Sunday 2/2/25, longest wait I have ever had since coming hear in 2010. 35 min and worth the wait. Pics included

WOW. If you're looking for a space for a large party then this should be your go to! LuLu's is the epitome of tapas. Order whatever you want & they bring your food out in the middle of the table with a glass turner. The menu is large so it's a little over whelming but don't worry, you're sure to love whatever you pick! The food came out hot & quick which was one of my favorite party. The waitress & waiter were quick with keeping drinks full!! I definitely recommend.

Was seated right away on a Sunday at 11a, love the dimsum and everything we got. We ended up getting 8 dishes and was full. But everything we got was delicious. Will definitely come back and try more things!

Although this is a great location for dim sum, as a normal dinner venue for traditional Chinese food this place is less than even average. In a recent visit the egg rolls were hardly edible and my veggie with beef, the beef was gummy, like it had been in the hot table way too long. Service is good but the food is below par even for American-Chinese food.

Ordered the fish in spicy sauce, which came with a side of white rice..got two containers of fish/cabbage..spicy, good amount of fish...kind of a lot of cabbage, but still worth the price.

When it comes to dim sum, I am sad that there is not many places in St. Louis. I'd say Lulu is better than other places in town. However, food quality can be hit or miss. I noticed that if I came before noon on Sunday, the food tasted kinda old. Service has been great so far. I liked that they give customers a real dim sum cart experience. Some dim sum staples I always order are Siu Mai (pork and shrimp dumpling), Har Gow Crystal shrimp dumpling, Lo Bak Go ( Turnip cake), Har Chueng Fun ( steamed rice roll with shrimp), Bolo bao ( pineapple bun), Fung Chao ( chicken feet), Jiu Cai Jiao ( chives fried dumpling), crispy duck and salt and pepper shrimp.

Every visit to Lulu's has been a great experience for me. I've tried a variety of dishes, from tofu to chicken and beef, but I can never resist their hot and sour soup--it's a must-order every time. Lulu's menu offers so much to explore, with generous portions that ensure you leave satisfied. While some dishes fall into the category of traditional Americanized Chinese food, many others provide a more unique and adventurous experience, which I love. Be sure to start with an appetizer; there are plenty of great options to choose from. Lulu's absolutely deserves more recognition--I've consistently enjoyed my time and meals here.

Excellent value for money . Good food and ambience . We ate to our hearts content for less than $20 per head and it was a great afternoon . Lots of parking around the building . Service is frequent and friendly during peak hours . Some language barrier but that's expected in a authentic restaurant experience . All in all it was a great meal!

Make sure to go hungry! We went for lunch a few weeks ago and the food was great! With HUGE portions. There were 10 of us, yet we probably had enough food for 20! With that being said, it's a great place for large groups. They had a big table with a lazy Susan like-thing in the middle so we could all easily share our food. From what I can tell, they have a lot of traditional Chinese dishes. Along with traditional Chinese decor! Be sure to check them out!

It's my birthday so I tried LuLu for the first time. The shrimp's texture was odd and the baby corn smelled and tasted spoil. Overall not a good experience. I will never go back.

I am very disappointed in these negative reviews. Our food was exceptional, fresh and our waitress was on top of the entire game! We had all of this food: 1. Shrimp and Chive Steamed Dumplings 2. Hot & Sour Soup 3. Hot Pepper Sole Fish Filet 4. Shrimp Fried Rice 5. Kuang Pau Chicken My favorite was the hot pepper sole fish filet. It was perfectly spiced and freshly fried! Our experience was excellent and we will return! I encourage those of you who posted negative reviews to give this gem another go.

Soooo, I think this may have been one of those places where I waited too long, and heard way too much hype, and it didn't quite measure up. I know we weren't there on a day when the dim sum is brought around on the trolley, but I found the selection of dim sum offered to be pretty limited. The way everything was put on the huge lazy Susan without any mention of what the item was led to people mistakenly taking other people's items. When trying to ask the waitress questions about the menu items, it was pretty hard to be sure that she was understanding our questions. And so we were unsure of the answers we were getting. The food was good, but the overall experience wasn't that great. Bummed.

I give 4 stars! My husband and I are in the town to visit family and attend a wedding. Rain night , we stopped in this place because wasn't full like other places. Well, many take out. The restaurant is really traditional style, the service bistro friendly and fast, and the food was different in my opinion. The flavors were tasty. We think is a Taiwan style food. Our fish was delicious! The ambiance is nice, you can talk comfortable.

Not sure what happened, but the pork and shrimp shumai dim sum has changed. There's a burned flavor to it, and just overall changed from what we used to get. Really too bad.

Large dining area with no mistake about being in a Chinese restaurant per decor. Service is prompt but may become a bit difficult due to language barriers. We were a large group all ordering individually. When the orders came out, they were placed on the lazy Susan and it was largely left for us to decide who ordered what, creating confusion and some not getting their order. Food is very good with some pictures of choices looking better than tasting. All in all, a fine dining experience.

I have visited Lu Lu's twice before. Both times it was for the cart Dim Sum they have on the weekends. This is definitely an experience to have. You are able to see the foods on the cart before purchasing and the idea is to share with the table. This past visit was on a Monday night. We chose this location for our monthly book club gathering. They were able to sit a party of 15 at one big round table with a huge lazy Susan in the middle. This visit I ordered the Shrimp and Chives Dim Sum to share and the Black Mushrooms and Bok Choy entree. The food was delicious. I was also able to sample the buns with the sesame seeds and bean purée in the middle, the cucumber dim sum and the turnip cakes. White Rice was on the table for everyone. My only negative is that the menu only has pictures. There are no descriptions and our waitress had a hard time answering questions because of our language barrier. I am pescatarian and wanted to make sure what I was getting did not have meat or meat broth. If they could even mark items vegan and vegetarian that would be helpful. Also, the food was placed on the lazy Susan when it came out and we had to figure out who ordered what which was quite confusing. I will visit again and again as this restaurant is very unique in its menu items and I always get wonderful food

big pregnant roach crawled right up to our table. we were the only customers in the restaurant. the staff and owner did not seem surprised at all by the roach incident.

The service was excellent, but the food was pretty average. We tried a few soups, General Tso's Chicken, Har Gow, Siu Mai, and vegetable eggrolls. It was all okay - certainly edible - but nothing special. However, I appreciated that we could order dim sum off the menu in the evening.

LU LU RUINED MY CHRISTMAS DINNER!! One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in U City closed earlier this year, so we had to find a new regular alternative. After research Christmas Eve, we selected Lu Lu. There even was a special BOGO on Uber Eats so we thought we would give it a try. The problems began on Christmas Day. First, the BOGO was suddenly gone. Thought that was weird, but figured because Christmas was busy, maybe they couldn't handle that level of business. I now think it was just pure greed. We placed an order for a few entrees and apps for pickup on Christmas Day through Uber Eats. We did so because we thought this would be better than delivery on a busy Christmas Day. To make sure there was plenty of advance notice, the order was placed hours in advance with a scheduled 4:00 pickup at the restaurant. Lu Lu accepted and confirmed the order through Uber Eats at 1:00 PM for 4:00 PM pickup. Ten minutes before scheduled pickup, I get a notification that my order was cancelled. No explanation whatsoever. I called the restaurant and asked what was going on. Nobody was able to help or provide reason, but the restaurant still had guests. To do that to someone on Christmas is unacceptable. If they had just not accepted the order initially or let me know an hour or so in advance, that would have been a let down, but we could have managed. To wait until just before making the customer scramble for an alternative at the last minute is foul. Guess I have to cross this off the list. Will try have to try another Chinese restaurants in this stretch of Olive, as there sure are plenty others to pick from. Too bad some of the good ones had to close in the past few years. Maybe this one is next on the chopping block.

Was in town for a quick visit and wanted to try the local dim sum. Walking into the restaurant saw the awards they have gotten over the years and it did not disappoint. Was quickly seated upon entering and the service was prompt. Went on a Sunday and they were offering cart service. Enjoyed everything brought to the table except the bbq pork was cold would have preferred it warm. Would recommend for anyone that enjoys a large variety!

DO NOT COME HERE. If I could leave negative stars, I would. I came here for lunch and while the food smelled good, and the potstickers were excellent, it was, truly, downhill from there. Our order: Potstickers Bbq Pork Buns Crab Rangoon Combination Fried Rice Combination Lo Mein Hot Braised Chicken As you can see, we ordered a LOT of food because we love Chinese food. Like I said earlier, the potstickers were top notch. The crab Rangoon - had an almost sour flavor, which was an immediate turn off. Tried biting into the pork buns (one of my favorite dim sum) only to find that below the pillow soft bun was COLD bbq pork filling. When I told them that it was cold, the waitress took it back to the kitchen and brought the same buns back, including the one that I bit and spat out, only this time it was steaming. I was shocked that they brought the same ones right back, but just decided to overlook it and try another one... hot bun, but this time it was almost gummy (microwaved), cold filling AGAIN. We tried asking to remove the crab Rangoon and the buns, and were told that "you ordered it, you pay". Tried explaining that the buns were cold again and the Rangoon tasted a bit off and the waitress said "I don't know" and walked off. Now, we both are sitting here with completely lost appetites, and we're more than willing to pay for what we, actually, ate. But to be told that because it was ordered it must be paid for, although the Rangoon are sour and the buns are cold, and the sheer disrespect and walking off while trying to get an understanding... enough for me to say... DO NOT COME HERE. You'll thank me later.

I had not been here for quite some time, today I was hungry for Dim Sum and decided to come here rather than my usual Dim Sun restaurant . I was pleasantly surprised with both the food and service. All of the people attending the carts were very friendly and helpful with a smile. I will certainly be back soon

Nothing like dim sum at LuLu! It's a go to for weekends with the carts providing options across the spectrum! Seafood, meat, vegetables, noodles, rice, all the things! I noticed other reviews that seem to suggest LuLu isn't top notch. Not sure what scale people are thinking. It's not a heavily Americanized version of Chinese so maybe that leads some people to not like it as much as I do but having lived in a range of places, the authenticity here is fantastic and I find the service is generally on point. Love the family style tables with the lazy Susan center to make sharing with a crowd of friends. It's a family owned and operated business, and many of the servers speak both English & Chinese, Chinese menus are available for guests too. The bar is pretty great for cocktails and all too!

It is a shame that the most authentic Chinese restaurant in Saint Louis should decide to cut back on their dim sum quality and selection. Why carry on the pretense of cart service when the food is tepid not hot and the fry cart is gone?

Went on Xmas day for a friend's birthday celebration. Food was delicious and the Peking duck was WORTH THE WAIT! Servers were doing the best that they could, however some could have used a bit more patience when trying to communicate items to order. The noise level was quite high because of the business, but overall still a fantastic experience for dim sum

Stopped in on Christmas day to have dinner. Was seated fairly quickly and they immediately came around to take a drink orders from a card that was coming around the restaurant and we picked up a few appetizers the same way. They came over to order our entrée. It was about two hours before the entrées came. Granted they were very very busy and when we got the food it was fantastic. Regardless we never got any updates or refills during this two hour wait. However as far as the food goes it was absolutely delicious. I would put their General's chicken up against anyone's. Have they just taken a little bit of time to refill drinks and updated us on the order I could've easily given a five star.

I love coming here! The experience alone is unique and usually somewhere I always take my guests. The staff are prompt and friendly as they come around with the various dishes. I personally love the items that are on the hot griddle- a yummy taro or turnip cake and something with shrimp - so crispy and tasty! Everything is around $4-8 per plate. When I go I tend to get more than I can eat there because I enjoy the leftovers so much!

I did the Sunday dim sum and I was very satisfied! Service was great. It was a packed restaurant and I was sat quickly and served immediately. I love the cart they bring around and you randomly pick food. I haven't seen a local place do this since Las Vegas!However, I had no clue what anything cost. They just said price varies on size. I had grabbed five items from the cart and my total was $32. I was very full and satisfied though so I couldn't complain and I will be back! I had the cucumbers, Singapore noodles, shrimp balls, mushroom dumpling (I think that's the name), vegetable egg roll.

I grew up eating dim sum in Chinatown NYC so I've eaten my share of dim sum. This is authentic and very yummy. It's way more pricey than NYC and NJ. While we've never spent $50-60 on dim sum for 2. But still, we will be back.

Efficient, friendly, and the Dim Sum carts kept bringing delicious and authentic dishes. The variety was intriguing, I think everyone at our table had at least one thing they never had before. My brother who was visiting from New York City, said Lu Lu is as good as any he has ever been to. Very good value, and they took my reservation for 8 people on a Sunday at noon. I can recommend Lu Lu enthusiastically.

First, the bad, the dish ordered/expected Chow Fun Shrimp was not fun! It was supposed to have nice green veggies but the dish we were delivered consisted of alot of very chewy thick noodles with 4 shrimp!! Ha-Ha!! Also a few bean sprouts and a grn onion here and there. All in a brn sauce that had mediocre flavor. No LuLu ....Don't recommend!! The good however, their portions are reasonable sizes, big enough for 2 adults.

Good grief. It's like we're doing the lady in the front a disservice by dining here. Came at opening time at 11am and we had 10 people. The restaurant was empty. The lady refused to give away any of the large tables (maybe one or two tables were reserved), but we literally had to beg for a larger table in an empty restaurant. The one that she said was reserved was all of a sudden available. Then, somebody in my party asked for a small dish to put sauces. She literally scoffed at him and never gave him a small dish/bowl. We ordered congee, and needed small bowls so individuals can scoop their own portions. Never got small bowls. We ending up pouring congee in our empty tea cups. Fckin ridiculous lol. We ordered 3 Pepsis - we eventually received 3 cans, and then that lady showed up way later with 3 additional glasses of poured soda, looked at us, and scoffed at us for having already been given 3 sodas by somebody else. It's not even like we ordered sodas twice. I wish I had spoken Chinese from the getgo and that I had sat at the outside area of the table so as to quell some of the absolute trash service by her to my English-speaking friends at my table. If I were with less chill friends or god forbid family, I would've given her a mouthful. She really shouldn't be working in this industry. It was just her, every other staff member was polite and efficient. Now, I can take a little abuse if the food is spectacular. In fact, sometimes it's a rite of passage at some Asian restaurants. But the dim sum here is not even close to being even "good". It's just average for even St. Louis (which is at best very mediocre) and it certainly wasn't cheap - $30 per person. At least it was a fun gathering for our group while we constantly made jokes about the terrible lady.

My family and I just had dinner here tonight. We were sick over Xmas so this was our makeup dinner. We love Peking duck so this place has it and boy was it good! The skin was perfectly crispy and the meat was tender and we loved having it with the steamed buns they served it with. We had the beef and eggplant, lo mein noodles, combo fried rice and hot and sour soup. Everything was spectacular! I just have two observations to share. One, the food came out all at the same time. It would have been nice to have the soup and the duck first then the rest. Speaking of the soup, that's my second, it was lukewarm at best so that was a bit disappointing. We ended up taking it home. We will have it for lunch. The service was welcoming and efficient. I loved the tables and chairs. I'm happy to have found a place with great Peking duck. We will be back. Lots of other dishes I want to try as well.

Review update: I picked up Thai style shrimp curry, red bean paste sesame buns, wontons in chili oil, and Shanghai soup dumplings and everything was hot and fresh and super delicious. Ordering was easy and service was friendly and fast. The dining room is still closed and they offer socially distanced carry out. I order from here at least twice a month and love supporting this small family business even though it's a bit of a drive from St. Peters. We especially crave these four menu items and they're always on our list. The Chinese cucumber appetizer is fantastic & fresh as well.

I've only eaten here for dim sum on the weekends, and I highly recommend it. It can get crowded, but we've always been seated promptly. Everything we've tried is authentic and delicious. The shumai and shrimp dumplings are particularly good. The only real downside is the cashier. She is extremely unpleasant and always acts like you're troubling her. She usually seats us, too, and she's very unwelcoming. If it wasn't for her, I'd give this restaurant a five-star rating.

I was very disappointed with our experience with Dim Sum brunch. Many of the servers pushing carts did not even bother to stop by our table. Also, some of the Dim Sum items that a lot of restaurants normally offer was not available at Lu Lu. Shanghai dumplings, also known as Xiao Long Bao was not on any of the carts and we had to order it separately. There was no Soybean milk or the Chinese doughnuts available. As an Asian, and someone that enjoys Dim Sum, this experience was very lacking. It's too bad Mandarin House closed, their Dim Sum brunch was much better.

The food is good, but they have too much fat in the duck skin. The ambience is good and the I like the stew beef. The beef is very soft and it was a good taste.

If you notice any of the negative reviews, they all order the most basic American-Chinese foods. If you want those, get it from somewhere else. You'll have better luck ordering more authentic dishes here.

We enjoyed a huge amount of food, all freshly cooked and each person shared their dish with the group. I ordered a hot plate with shrimp and veggies and scallops. It was very good but I could not stop eating their fried fish plate. I am 60 yrs old and this is THE BEST FRIED FISH I've had EVER! Not a trace of grease. Just a beautiful white coating seasoned to perfection. The downsides of the restaurant are not dealbreakers but need some work...they brought out two large bowls of soup with dumplings which no one remembers ordering so we assumed it was complimentary. It wasn't. Delicious but they charged us $23 for it. Be sure to ask if they bring it out. They also told us they only had eight menus for the WHOLE restaurant so our table of 7 had to share 3. Not sure if he was pulling our leg but I can't imagine how you would handle the dinner rush with only 8 menus. Maybe they just didn't want to wash them off? Either way, very unprofessional. Also we were one of only 3-4 tables with people in the whole place but only got an occasional refill on water and some glasses got ice and some did not. They have a huge selection of food and some decent dishes and some fantastic dishes. If it were me, I'd cut out some of the options and focus more on just the top dishes so hopefully they could make enough profit to invest in a few more menus or at least put up a specials board on the wall. Overall enjoyable but could be so much better with just a little effort. Worth a stop.

6-10-2019 5:00PM Dinner for 2 Quality of food has slipped a lot in 4 years & 6 months. I use to rate them 4 stars....now it's 2. It must be new chefs. Black mushrooms & BokChoy. Normally black mushrooms have a full flavored taste but these were almost tasteless.....BokChoy was good but oily. Mongolian Beef with scallions normally is excellent. But not today. Tastes like straight hoisen sauce. This restaurant in the past was ALWAYS first choice.....doubt if I return. Service was very good and ver 8-13-2020 5:00PM Takeout for 1 Crab Rangoon - This is absolutely SUPERIOR. Deep fried just right....not over fried. Crab filling absolutely perfect PLUS gourmet delicious. Seafood Hotpot - Abundantly filled with assorted seafood in a delicious white sauce....served with white rice. Absolutely the finest I have ever eaten. Highly recommended these two superior dishes.

Their Beijing/Peking Duck is excellent. I regularly order this for takeout service and will continue to do so. Service has always been excellent.

Barely mediocre dim sum, but peking duck tasted fine. Not authentic or well-made, but I guess it is still a place to get your Chinese food fix in St Louis. Pork siu mai - mushy, slimy, lukewarm. a bit big. not a crisp bite or taste. Chicken feet - sweet, especially cold, gooey. i'm used to it being more savory and less artificially colored. Black bean spare rib - mushy, bland. for a dish seasoned with black bean, there's oddly no black bean flavor imparted. skimpy. Peking duck - really fluffy buns and adequate duck (crisp and meaty!) to fill them. the best dish i got! I don't recommend the dim sum. It also comes warm or cold, and I know that dim sum doesn't cool down that quickly on my speedy trip home. The peking duck was worth it though. Just keep your bar low because you're in Missouri.

Absolutely delicious! Took 2 different friends over there and it was fun and great experience. Not a fan of their duck but other dim sum items are authentic and I felt as if I was in China!

Since there is really no Chinese food in West County other than very dumbed down and gringoized food, we tend to go to Lu Lu Seafood most often. The menu is daunting but you should be able to find the things you want. If you are a Sweet and Sour Pork person you can go about anywhere. Our most recent visit was the result of a Groupon. I was glad Ms T bought it because I had been wanting to go back. We had Salt & Pepper Calamari, Wontons in Chili Sauce and Beef with Chinese Broccoli. All were enjoyable although we remembered the Salt & Pepper Calamari as being better than they were this time. They were not fried quite enough, were under-seasoned and were missing the green chile that we remembered. I still like the Wontons in chili sauce and half of the large serving came home with me. I enjoyed one on the side of my next four dinners. I used to order dumplings this way but somehow could not see them on the vast menu. I need to ask for them next time. We ordered the Beef and Chinese Broccoli at Ms T's request, because we only needed one entre and that means no spicy heat. I thought it was fine, although I added sauce from the Wontons to spice it up. She felt it was "snotty" in the way it was thickened. Live by the corn starch, die by the cornstarch, I say. I still like Lu Lu and am sure we will continue to return. I just have to order the spicy dishes for me. Still a solid three stars.

I love Dim Sum and I always enjoy coming to this restaurant on a Sunday for Brunch. Lulu's used to be the place for Dim Sum but lately the quality of the food has been going down a bit. Last Sunday I decided to take my wife there for Dim Sum/Chinese Style Brunch. As always the Restaurant was packed but since we got there early enough, we were seated quickly. My wife and I ordered Bok Choy, sticky rice, Calamari, Green Beans, Crispy Shrimp Rolls, Fried Dumplings, Beef Short Ribs. Overall the food was not as expected. The Bok Choy did not taste fresh. The Sticky Rice was just Mehhh The Calamari was a bit gooey very lightly fried. My favorite thing was the Green Beans, it was very well done, garlic infused and it tasted really good. The crispy shrimp rolls were also really good. The atmosphere was awesome, families sitting together enjoy a good moment all around my wife and I. The restaurant gets a 3.5 for cleanliness, I feel there are too much stuff around the cashier section area. Too much Clutter. I also did not check the bathroom so I cannot comment on that. On of my biggest issue with the restaurant is the fact that you have no idea what you are paying for as everything is written in Chinese/Mandarin on your bill. You are totally at the mercy of what they tell you your cost is. In the spirit of respect for other cultures, I accept it but for someone like me who is used to a level of transparency when at a Restaurant I am a bit uneasy with it, that's just me though. Price is a bit on the expensive side, it's over priced in my opinion. In conclusion, the restaurant has a good reputation for its food though in reality the quality of what gave it its fame has now sadly been lacking.
