I'm wondering why this store does not have more customers. Phá lấu is so good with their tamarind sauce, bột chiên is crispy, papaya salad is tasty. I hope the sauce is more flavorful so I can enjoy salad and bột chiên better. Customer service is as great as their hot jasmine tea pot. Will come back when I visit Philly again ❤

The foods are amazing, their menu has a few items I couldn’t find anywhere else. Phá lấu and bột chiên taste just as good as in VietNam. Very friendly staffs, the only negative thing is hard to find a parking. Overall really good experience. Highly recommended.

When in Philly, get bánh mì! One of the things I miss about living here is amazing Vietnamese food, and Lúa did not disappoint. Everything was fresh, super flavorful, and delicious. Highly recommend the classic pork bánh mì. Five stars, no notes. We’ll be back.

Ive had Lua for dine in and take out and both experiences were great! The Pho Special is my favorite dish, but there summer rolls are phenomenal too. Will definitely come back to try their bahn mi!

The food, the people—everything was perfect. It was truly amazing. My wife and I ate enough for five people because it was that good. We didn’t leave a single bite.

We wanted to try the mẹt gà, but they ran out. The phở đặc biệt was good, though it’s traditionally a beef soup and the broth here was chicken-based. The bún đậu mắm tôm was okay; the shrimp paste was a bit too sweet for my taste. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The price is reasonable.

My second time coming here in a row when I found out about it thanks to my friend’s recommendation. I highly recommend their pha lau, bun dau mam tom, goi cuon and ga chien nuoc mam. You really can’t go wrong with anything from here. Prices are great for the quality of foods. Highly recommend!

This place has such amazing food and very friendly quick service. We have eaten there and also ordered take out. Both were great. The pho is solid, but their other dishes are really special and so flavorful! Also, their Vietnamese coffee is excellent- but a bit unusual- but very worth it. ✨

Yelp
Saw their Grand Opening sign and was craving some Vietnamese food. This is across the street from the Kensington Pho Ga Thanh Thanh. Food: I ordered the egg rolls (cha gio) and pork chop with broken rice plate. You get the option for cold/hot tea or water when they seat you. The egg rolls were well wrapped, fried extremely crispy without any burnt taste, and their fish sauce was as good as any place around. The pork chop was flavorful, juicy, and tender enough to tear apart without a knife. If you go to Vietnamese restaurants you know that places make their pork chop differently. This place's pork chops have a more natural soy marinated dark brown color, which is my preference, versus the more light brown/orange kind other places have. Service: This place seems to be new and family owned, so the servers at least on this Sunday were younger and less experienced, but polite and were clearly trying their best to accommodate me. Definitely not an issue overall and I expect this to improve over time. It was just kind of weird when they dropped the check and stood there waiting for tip and signature. Usually servers leave the checkbook on the table so you don't feel rushed out the door. Look: Very clean inside and you can tell they want to have a more elevated experience than your typical pho spot - the logo and menus are well designed on good material and each table has elegant seat covers and utensil boxes. Location: This place is under the bridge on Kensington so expect the usual street parking and random hood stuff going on outside, but mind your business and you should be fine. I will say they are doing themselves a disservice by only naming it "Lua" on Yelp. Might be hard to find. On Google it shows up as "Lua Vietnamese". This is the closest Vietnamese spot near me so I'll probably come back and try the actual pho when it's not so hot out. Not enough negatives to take away a star, so I'll give it 5 stars for a good-to-decent local pho spot that's worth coming back to. I'd like to see them succeed and stay a while. Congrats on the grand opening.

Yelp
Food. 5stars Service a little slow Ambiance: I always liked the Thang Long decoration because it was hokey Viet and am not sure how different it is but the staff are awesome

Yelp
So happy to have found a place that not only serves phá lấu but it tastes good! But other than that, everything else is normal. Bánh tráng trộn tastes fine but it lacks toppings. Bún chả is standard. Bánh mì chảo suppose to be hot but this is like room temp so it just makes everything in that dish not good, kinda disappointed. Friendly staff. I dont know why they close quite early, so it's just hard to come here to grab food

Yelp
Ordered the pho special and bulgogi sandwich. Pho was pretty good, meat a bit tough but broth was tasty - not the best ever but satisfying. The bulgogi sandwich though, delicious and would order again. Friendly staff. Interior remains unchanged from previous spot. Would dine in but they close too early, 6pm, probably due to the area.. give them a try!
