Lucha Loco - Mexican Cocina Y Mezcaleria

Visited this place for a weekend lunch and managed to get in before the crowd arrived. The waiter said it was a full house booking. The Blue Swimmer Crab Tostada was fantastic – a definite highlight of the meal. I also tried the Chorizo and Beef Taco, which was flavorful but quite dense. A bit more acidity would have helped cut through the richness. The Churros were decent, rounding off the meal nicely. Price was steep, but overall, it was a good experience.

The food is good and spicy enough. The Margaritas are excellent. The red wine is way too cold and could be better quality. The service needs to improve as the servants don‘t know where the drinks need to go to. Our drinks ended up at another table and we get the drinks from a neighbouring table. It can be noisy as well.

This is probably the fanciest mexican restaurant I’ve tried. Everything was spicy to me so maybe I’m not the best judge of this. But I liked the tostadas with their crispy tortillas. I preferred the wagyu beef tostada ($15 before gst), which was the least spicy out of the three savoury dishes we got. I don’t know what the long crispy things were - shallots? But i really liked them and the chewy wagyu beef cubes. The pumpkin & habanero tostada ($14) was ok, but like the baja fish taco ($12) the spiciness was overpowering for me. I wanted to like the blue corn cake ($12) more - the cake was moist and the ice cream had a really good vanillary taste, but the raspberry cream, that dollop of sour(?) cream and strawberries combined made it overall too tart for me. Staff were nice but very busy on a friday night so we had to leave our table to call for them.

We celebrated our Christmas lunch at Lucha Loco and tried almost everything on the menu! The standout dishes were the crab taco, lamb taco, beef taco, and cauliflower salad. Sadly, we didn’t get photos of everything, but every bite was amazing. The lamb taco is an absolute must-try—so juicy and flavorful! 100/100! A huge thanks to Nick for arranging our booking and to Sasha for taking such great care of us throughout the meal. Amazing people, incredible food, and an unforgettable experience!

Great food, great vibes and great service - what more can you ask for! Shoutout to George for being so attentive! Appreciate that he stopped us from over ordering (but the food was too good we ended up ordering more anyway🫣). Definitely coming back to try more dishes!

Visited during Friday dinner. A very hearty meal in general, with relax music and overall environment. The fish taco is good and the taste is rich, The cauliflower is an amazing dish too. My favourite is the Hibiscus and Jackfruit Quesadillas, which have 4 pieces and rich taste. For desert, we had a blue corn cake (no photo sorry). The waiter was passionate to share their story about how the blue corn cake was made. Very interesting indeed. There are plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options for those who have dietary restrictions. Strongly recommended.

Food was good! Will recommend the Quesadillas. And lovely atmosphere for big groups. Recommend to make reservations even on a weekday. Prices are expected given the location but a bit shocked by how the taco is a small one piece serving given the price $11++, also nachos are a bit lacking. The service is relatively fast and accommodating however do note it can be quite hot outside at the terrace seating, you may want to opt for inside seats instead.

Amazing food and drinks, with great vegan options (jackfruit hibiscus quesedilla was absolutely bomb, and I'm not even vegan) too. Really enjoyed the seasonal drink- mulled wine margarita too - it totally hit the spot with the perfect balance between the smokiness of mezcal and the warming spices. Loved the ambience and overall vibe as well. Service could have been more proactive as I had to ask 3x to follow up on my order which was taking much longer.
