Came to try this for the first time. Now Latin American food in Singapore has 2 tiers. 1 being your typical mass market non-authentic slap tacos on everything & suddenly it’s L-A cuisine. The other being a proper benchmark where you can see people from those cultures dining alongside you. Enter Lucha Loco. A top notch experience greeted us as we sat at the veranda (there was a buyout inside). The menu was small (always a good sign) & George our server took immaculate care of us. From the banter to the recommendations they were spot on. We tried every taco on the menu (sans the Lamb) as well as the online raved Crab Tostados. Everything hit the spot. Flavours were distinct, fresh & nothing was placed without purpose. The fried items did not taste of rancid or old oil nor were they excessively greasy. Condiments were not slapped together but placed with finesse & enhanced the main protein without detracting from it. George then brought us a mystery dessert which turned out to be the Blue Corn Cake with Lima Crema & Housemade Vanilla IC. Perfect ending with the combination of textures, temperatures & flavours. Overall I’d say a must visit & this hungry diner will be back with more friends to savour their delicacies

Had a great time here! The outdoor ambience was lovely, and I’d recommend making a reservation since dining time is limited. The food was tasty and unique – though I would have preferred the fish in the tacos to be a bit crispier. Service was warm and friendly, and George went above and beyond to make my birthday extra special. Overall, it’s a must-visit if you love Mexican cuisine, with fair prices and good portions.

A great place for chilling. Great service from service staff who care that I can’t eat extremely spicy food. They separated the dressing on the side on their own initiative after asking. Crab meat on tortilla shells and Mexican chilli gives the appetiser the oomph. Love the baked cauliflower as the accompanying dressing blended very well. The medium rare beef was well executed, charred on the outside while rare on the inside with tasty accompaniments, to set the dish apart other restaurant offerings. Perhaps the restaurant can think up more interesting dessert offerings as we were looking for less starchy or fried options. All in all, an excellent place and experience to dine out!

Food: Food is too salty. I ordered Churros but it seemed a little undercooked as the insides are still mushy. Drinks: Drinks are acceptable, would rate a 4. Service: Not fantastic but still acceptable. Not bad service but I think it'll be nice if staff can put on some smiles. Atmosphere: I was seated outdoor, too hot. Maybe it'll be better if more fans are available. Tables are too close to each other that I can hear the entire conversation of the tables on my left and right.

Ordered the baja and wagyu tacos. The barramundi was nicely fried, super crispy and moist. The wagyu brisket was really fragrant and nicely marinated, but it was slightly dry which the sauce helped. The salsa was alright but it was too wet and made my taco fall apart while eating. The mango bits in the spicy mango salsa was a nice touch and brightens the dish. Overall, an alright taco, service is slow despite the restaurant being half empty. 1$ per pax for still water (which im pretty sure is tap). The ambient is pretty nice for company. Pretty decor and aesthetics too.

[tldr - we felt like there was lack of communication in terms of pricing for specific items, but the overall service & food was good.] we went to the restaurant to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and we would like to commend the staff for ensuring that he had a good time by giving us complimentary churros and birthday card with our group photo. the food was excellent as well, and we highly recommend the Crab Tostada and the Achiote Chicken because the flavours were on point and perfectly spicy 😋 the frozen Margarita was great as well, with just the right hint of sour and balance of alcohol. overall we were very pleased with the dishes and service staff who helped us with the birthday cake surprise. however, we wanted to mention that we felt that there was a lack of price transparency communicated to us. (1) we were ordering the chips & guac, and the staff asked if we would like pineapple or tomato salsa to go with it but did not mention that we needed to pay for them separately (see receipt) - we were under the impression that they came with the dish. perhaps it was our fault for not checking, but when we asked the staff if we could have both, she agreed enthusiastically. (2) my friend wanted to get the Crab Tostada and mentioned off hand to us that we could share with him, to which the staff suggested that she could help us to “split” it into 6 portions so that each of us can try the Tostada. this led us to believe that she was going to split the 2 Tostadas into 6 and one of us even clarified with the waitress who didn’t correct us. Instead, we only found out at the end that she multiplied the portion by 3 so we paid $54 instead of $18 which we felt was not fairly communicated to us. Furthermore, when my friend was having the spicy chicken, the staff asked if she would like more guac to go with it; once again giving the impression that it was FOC until we asked and she mentioned its chargeable (3) trivially, we didn’t know the filtered water was chargeable at $1 per pax, it was not communicated to us by the staff as well but perhaps this is a restaurant culture we should have known as Singaporeans so this was not the most important point i will say that they did tell us the churros were complimentary, but we feel it cannot be the case where we’re only informed of complimentary items and are left to assume that the rest are all chargeable especially when its not stated as clearly in the menu or by the staff. wanted to leave this feedback for everyone to take note of the culture and ensure you ask about the pricing before ordering like us, and potentially for follow-up by the restaurant. that being said, we did still enjoy our time there but we felt price transparency was incredibly important and should be communicated. thanks!

Nestled at Duxton Hill in Singapore, Lucha Loco instantly transports diners to the colorful streets of coastal Mexico. The menu is a celebration of bold, authentic Mexican flavors with a contemporary twist, crafted to delight both meat lovers and vegetarians. Standout starters like the Crab Tostadas feature crisp corn bases topped with sweet blue swimmer crab, fiery jalapeño, fresh cilantro, mint, and tangy lime mayo—a light yet flavor-packed appetizer. The Prawn Taco combines marinated tiger prawns with an unexpected burst of strawberry, smoky bacon, jalapeño, and fennel sauce atop fresh lettuce, though the tortilla here could benefit from a crisper texture to avoid sogginess. The Hibiscus & Jackfruit Quesadilla is a revelation for vegetarians and curious palates alike, blending caramelized hibiscus and jackfruit with gooey mozzarella, complemented by a spicy tomato sauce and red onion pico that surprises with its depth and unique balance of sweet and heat. Complementing the dishes are expertly crafted cocktails, including a refreshingly icy Frozen Lime Mezzy Margarita and the smoky, complex Jalisco Sour made with mezcal, red wine merlot, citrus, and agave. Mezcal flights are also available for those wanting to explore deeper into Mexico’s agave spirits. Exceptional hospitality is a hallmark of Lucha Loco, with attentive and knowledgeable staff like Fatin who enhance the experience by offering thoughtful food and beverage recommendations, making diners feel welcomed and cared for throughout their visit. Whether seated indoors or in the inviting garden bar, Lucha Loco offers an authentic and joyful celebration of Mexican cuisine, culture, and conviviality in the heart of Singapore. It is a must-visit for anyone craving vibrant, flavorful Mexican fare in a unique and lively setting.

My husband and I walked in and the restaurant was only 1/4 full with many empty tables. We were seated fast and was told to call on any service crew member to place an order but what disappointed us was that, there were very few service crew around. We were ready to order and was looking for someone/ anyone for almost 10 minutes before a crew member came around. Food wise, the taco was soft and the sauces were just right, 8.5/10. Burrito was bland and the rice was quite dry tho, 4/10 The beef quesadillas were reallly good! Meat was juicy and the wrap was just perfectly crispy, 8.5/10. Lastly, we got churros for desserts and daaaaamnnn, it was so good! 10/10!!
