16 Breezy California-Style Restaurants in NYC - Eater NY
"Head to this low-key San Diego-style Mexican place for the underrated regional burrito style. Check out the California Burrito, which is stuffed with freshly grilled carne asada, fries in lieu of rice, guac, cheese, sour cream, and salsa. Another Southern California innovation, carne asada fries, are also on the menu. There’s a second Brooklyn outpost in Bed-Stuy; the cash-only menu is the same at both locations." - Alexandra Ilyashov
Had the California with carne and chorizo. A great burrito in the area and a laid back vibe with friendly staff. Don't try to compare it to anything in the past or from somewhere else, just enjoy it. The meat was seasoned well and the salsas were on point!

Tasty burritos, which nicely default to vegetarian. They're a bit on the small side though.

Will give 4 or 5 stars when they start making the take-out/delivery burritos the same size as the dine-in burritos. I’ve been keeping track for a while now and they definitely make them smaller when it’s take out/delivery. Delicious burrito though, worth the money when they aren’t small. :)

Delicious burritos and nachos. Best I've had in the neighborhood for quick easy Mexican. The meat is noticeably better quality and well-seasoned. Good $4 draft beer 4-7 weekday happy hour as well.

The California burrito and nachos are great, but everything else is ok. Definitely much better authentic and less expensive options in the area, particularly for tacos. They’re back patio is also a great place to hang.

I know you are sad. It’s been a long time since you had a decent dip of guac, let alone a burrito or a fish taco. Come here and eat your pain away. The real thing finally made it to New York

I got the California Burrito and it was AWESOME. Who knew fries inside of a burrito could taste so good?
