Food Gifts From NYC Restaurants, 2023 | Eater NY

"I follow Lucia Pizza as one of the city’s rising slice shops: the Sheepshead Bay spot from Salvatore Carlino (who grew up in his family’s Papa Leone restaurant) is opening a Manhattan location this week, and fans can buy merch ranging from t-shirts and sweatshirts to bucket hats." - Emma Orlow

Ordered baked ziti from here and it’s normally really good but this time it was disappointing. We got sent burned ziti and when calling back to let them know about the quality the cook was very defensive. They swore they didn’t send it out like that and as a long time customer from the flushing location I will not be ordering anymore from here.

Small food establishments but there are tables to sit i did a medium regular size pizza to go not bad for $15

Hands down one of the best pizzas in a 9 mile radius ( better then Louie’s, Champions, Roosevelt express pizza and papa John’s) . This is New York pizza. Not the abomination up the block called Champions. If you need an authentic New York slice, Lucia pizza has it.

Google
Amazing pizza for the price! A huge classic triangle shaped slice only $4 for a peperoni and he threw it fresh in the oven for us, came out all melted and fresh! You gotta add red pepper flakes and parmesean, it takes it to a whole nother level!! The parmesean is real tiny chunks! Not the fake stuff they got at the stores.

Walked in when it first opened and the variety at the display case was lacking. Walked in today and was happy to see a variety of slices on display. Got a grandma slice and asked for extra crispy. Sauce and cheese was good. Will come by again. Glad I walked in and gave it a second chance.

Google
Nice little pizza spot. Slice has a nice crisp to it, maybe just a little too much cheese, but it's good if you prefer your slices that way. Staff is very friendly.

Had pizza outside with Dave Chappelle. Amazing. Great pizza. Sausage and hot peppers amazing

Google
Solid neighborhood slice spot. (Walk a block to Lucia to avoid the new corporate predator pizza!) Support your local hard-working pizza guys, New Yorkers.

Yelp
My husband and I recently ordered delivery from Lucia's and were definitely not disappointed. We opted for the margherita pizza with pepperoni and a meatlover's pinwheel. Both were very tasty and well balanced. I liked that the sauce had some heft to it and was flavorful without being acidic. The pinwheel had a decent meat to crust ratio and came with marinara on the side for dipping. My only critique is that their UberEats page needs some help, because it's set up to only allow you to select one topping even though it states that you can select multiple (up to five, I believe). That being said, one topping was plenty, and it was all delicious. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

Yelp
The pizza is great. No complaints about the pizza quality and taste. Only complaint is the delivery. They need to keep the pizza more flat than slanted.

Yelp
Ate here today for a quick lunch while walking around my Jackson Heights neighborhood on a warm Sunday afternoon. I had only brought and ate a slice with a can of cold Sunkist soda that it had tasted really good and delicious. The service there was also attentive and super fast. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time.

Yelp
Best pizza east of Sunnyside. Crispy crust, nice sauce. Better than the Chinatown shop even.

Yelp
For years, I have been trekking (not really that much of a trek but ...) from Elmhurst to Main Street Flushing to eat a slice at Lucia. I have been equally vocal advocating and advertising about its depth of flavor as well. After moving to Central California I have continued to visit Lucia (in Flushing) each time I return to Queens. I was a little iffy about trying the sister location in Jackson Heights because well, like sequels, they may be similar to the original but may fall flat. I am happy to report that the essence of the original Lucia has stayed intact and those flavors have permeated into the sequel seamlessly. The ambiance is cute and cheerful, a little more spacious than the one in Flushing, with two tables, a place for two by the window and several stools facing the mirror. The young man behind the counter took our orders and served us our pizza slices very nicely. Everything was top-notch which only means one thing--BATTLE LINES HAVE BEEN DRAWN--who will reign supreme in Pizzaville Jackson Heights--Louie's on Baxter or Lucia on 82nd?

Yelp
The Flushing location gets lots of raves so we tried a whole pizza delivered the other week. It was OK but maybe not my preferred style. The crust was surprisingly thick, hard, and bland and not charred on the bottom. On top it was very oily. The sauce was pretty nice but the whole thing didn't add up to pure pizza pleasure.

Yelp
Woohoo! Lucia Pizza finally opened! I frequent the Flushing Main Street location often and was quite surprised to see them when their sign was revealed! Today, a friend and I dropped in to check them out. It looks like they are still doing their finishing touches to the store. I spy a brand new Italian ice fridge, which I cannot wait to get some when they're ready to serve them in the near future! The Regular slice was really good and I loved the crunch of the crust. I expect the pizza to be even better over time when their oven gets more seasoned. The Grandma slice was very flavorful and I loved the fresh mozzarella cheese on it. Overall, I am very happy with my pizza slices and I definitely will be returning for more!

Yelp
The Lucia Pizza in Flushing is one of my favorite pizzerias in NYC. I was excited when I heard this Lucia II opened in Jackson Heights a month ago. I was in the neighborhood during lunch and had their two cheese slice and soda special for $6, a great deal. Their cheese slice is thin, gooey and saucy. Overall Flushing Lucia is still tops, but this one is very good. Friendly, efficient service and reasonable prices too. I'll be back for more.

Yelp
New pizza addition to the neighborhood has the locals up and arms. Up as in out of their seats and onto the limited stools or window seating at Lucia pizza. Arms as in carrying at least one plain slice in their hand, folded (we're not animals here). They make a solid slice, I am excited to try the whole pizza experience as well as the other extensive menu items. I do wish there was less oregano thrown on the slices pre-serving service.

Yelp
Heard great things about Lucia but wasn't blown away by my still cold grandma slice and just OK pepperoni slice. I still think the best grandma pizza is at Louie's.

Yelp
Quite possibly best pizza I had in nyc, slightly edging the apostrophe place. White was my fav, but everything was great

Yelp
Delicious authentic New York pizza. Fast delivery, good salad. Now I need extra characters to get to 85 so Yelp will post it.

Yelp
Solid 4, the Flushing location has the best crust by far and base. Had to try this location as I have been waiting for a good pizzeria in the area. Finally Lucia has made its way to Jackson Heights were local competition is always welcomed. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken Pie, came right on time 30 min, nice and hot. Ordered a large thinking it would be enough for 2 but it was by far big for two people. You Def get your moneys worth, I'll take a medium next time. The box said 18" and it sure felt big. The cheese was tasty, the sauce was nice and spicy, chicken was ok, and the crust was what brought this 1 star lower for me. The crust felt a bit on the chewy side, complete contrast to the one in flushing. It was not bad but for Someone who eats the crust all the time I had a hard time getting into the crispyness of it. Not sure if there was a brush of oil on the pie or if it simply was folded on the edges but it felt school like. The flavors where there, the size and time efficiency, I also enjoyed they didn't burn the crust from the bottom, but in this case it would've helped create a char. Overall, I highly recommend and will definitely try their plain slice to compare to the Flushing location. I hope one of the pizza chefs comes over to inspect similar quality as that would elevate this grand opening to a higher level. Delivery guy was very friendly and they also accept credit card payment. I've tried pizza from almost all the pizza joints here in JH and none really deliver a solid NY slice (except the flushing Lucia).

Yelp
This place opened about a year ago. It's an excellent addition to the neighborhood. Ingredients are fresh and a variety of dishes are made with care. Staff is very friendly, too. If I didn't care about my weight, I'd be there on a daily basis. Is it the best place in the world...? No. But is it a solid pizzeria where you're going to get what you expected from and more? Absolutely. Give them a try. They'll likely exceed your expectations.

Yelp
Terrific thin crust pizza. One block from the seven line. Gelato for dessert. Great guys making the pies.

Peter G.

Yelp
Awesome pizza. This is my kind of pizzeria. They have a few different types of pies nicely displayed, you select one or two, look at the drink options and sit at a small counter, or a table, or if you are lucky in the window to watch the street activity. I have tried three different types of slices and each one was right on point. I am so happy to have this option right in my neighborhood, with pizza so much better than any chain can make!

Paula G.

Yelp
Finally a good pizzeria in the area! I tried it today and was pleased - tasty sauce, good cheese and nice crust. The place was clean, bright and plenty of seating.

Michael ..

Yelp
Great staff fast and friendly, their pizza is delicious, a nice thin crust plenty of cheese complemented with an amazing tomato sauce that isn't overpower with salt. Enjoyed their eggplant parmesan hero a few times, it's a great value. There a half a dozen pizza places in the hood, this is by far the best and I will be a loyal customer..... please join me and support our new pizzeria.

Yelp
Absolutely ecstatic that Lucia Pizza opened up a location in Jackson Heights! It's a quaint store that serves up the absolute best pizza. I got a regular slice, grandma slice, and some garlic knots that were made to absolute perfection and the service was incredible. Seriously, the sauce should be jarred up. As authentic as it gets. 10/10 recommend!
