His Michelin-starred carbonara gets top billing, but perusing Luciano’s menu, you'll find a celebration of Roman cuisine. I’m not sure why LUCIANO Cucina Italiana has such a low Google rating, because for us, it was one of the best meals of our entire trip in Italy. If we had skipped this place, it would’ve been a real regret. We ordered their signature Carbonara and the Pasta of the Day, and both dishes were outstanding. The Carbonara was unlike any version I’ve had before — at first, the flavor felt mild and subtle, but once combined with the guanciale, it transformed into something deeply rich and memorable. The texture of the pasta was perfect, and the balance of the sauce was exceptional. It’s easily one of the few dishes from this trip that I genuinely want to have again. The staff initially seemed a bit distant, but once I mentioned that I came after seeing a Korean YouTuber’s video about the restaurant, they became very warm and cheerful, sharing a few laughs with us. Overall, LUCIANO Cucina Italiana offered an impressive mix of refined flavors, genuine Roman character, and friendly service. It’s a restaurant I would definitely return to on my next visit to Rome.

This was a fantastic place to have dinner. The atmosphere was calm and a nice break away from the hustle from the city. The food was incredible and the staff were amazing. They gave dish recommendations, wine pairings and were so helpful when it came to helping us get transport home. I can’t recommend this place enough

Nice place for some good pasta. My wife had heard that their carbonara is among the best in Rome, so we decided to give it a try. We were seated quickly, but unfortunately waited about 20–30 minutes before anyone came to take our order. When the waiter finally arrived and asked, “Are you ready?”, I couldn’t help but laugh — we’d been ready for quite a while! 😅 That little hiccup aside, the staff were friendly and the service improved afterwards. The food was good — tasty and well presented, but not particularly exceptional. Would I come back? Not sure. It’s a nice spot overall, but there are so many great options in Rome that I’d probably try somewhere new next time.

The best meal I had in Rome! Honestly, this is the level of food and flavor I expect from this fantastic city. We ordered the beef tartare with truffle, which was excellent, and two pastas: Rigatoni Cacio e Pepe and Mezze Maniche all’Amatriciana. Both were dreamy! I highly recommend this place. Dismiss the low ratings, they’re misleading.

We managed to get a table as a walk in, however it is probably better to reserve as it’s a very popular spot! We were seated at the pass so we had a great view of the chefs at work. The carbonara was delicious, the best pasta of our trip! We also had tiramisu that was great and a clever chocolate disc in the middle. This was a lovely stop in a hectic day in Rome!

Had a great experience here. Food was delicious (they are known for carbonara but please try the cacio e pepe too!) and service was very kind. We were also lucky to try their seasonal panettone - portion size was generous and it tasted good.

You want the best Carbonara in Rome ? Then you have to visit here.... simple. Great and friendly service and advisable to book ahead if possible. The Carbonara is world famous so it's a must if you visit here.

Incredible experience. Best Carbonara in Rome. Absolutely delicious, you must come here if you visit Rome and you like eating great food. Desserts were delicious (especially the tiramisu). Service and attention from the people working there was awesome!
