"Luciano Cucina is a next-gen trattoria that's colorful, stylish, and open. Chef Luciano Monosilio elevated carbonara from its humble origins into an art form, and the quintessentially Roman dish takes the limelight here. But the rest of the pastas, which range from classic to contemporary, are just as wonderful. To drink, there's wine on tap, craft beer, and designer water. The staff is a well-organized crew that can anticipate your every move and make spot-on suggestions." - Maresa Manara

"It is widely accepted that the best carbonara in Rome is served in this restaurant. We have to agree – and this is no mean feat, given that this is one of the capital’s iconic dishes. However, Luciano Monosilio’s culinary experience also extends to other equally delicious dishes, some inspired by the traditions of Lazio, others more creative in style, but all full of intense flavours." - Michelin Inspector

"Rome’s reigning king of carbonara Luciano Monosilio has revamped the Roman trattoria into a mod dining room, with an open pasta lab and kitchen. His Michelin-starred carbonara gets top billing, but perusing Luciano’s menu, you'll find a celebration of Roman cuisine. First plates are antipasti which feature fritti , like suppli (quite possibly the best rice balls in Rome), while his dish line up is divided into traditional Roman favorites, contemporary dishes, and Ripiene, or filled pastas, so you’ll be able to test out Monosilio’s creative turns like Fettuccella ajo ojo e bottarga di muggine , pasta topped with garlic, pepper, and olive paste and cured fish roe. But, obviously, don't miss the amazing carbonara."

The carbonara was not from this world! Creamy perfection at its best! We haven't had reservations, but the nice gentleman found us a table. The only downside was the waiter, who was definitely not on the level this kind of restaurant deserves. Reading other comments, the pattern is clear, amazing food, but service is lacking every now and then. Despite that, you should definitely try signature carbonara.

We’ve had our best pasta in Rome at Luciano! Everything was perfect. People were so kind and helpful. It is suggested to have a reservation in order not to wait. However, we were there early and found a table without any problem. There is an open kitchen on the back where you can see the food getting prepared. Pasta was awesome, prices a bit high but always according to food quality. We also had a few wonderful glasses of wine. I should definitely visit Luciano next time I’ll come to Rome!

Best pasta we had on our trip! We had the cacio Pepe and carbonara. Both were so rich with flavors and so tasty! We were talking about the pork in the carbonara for the entire 14 day trip! The prices for food and wine were super reasonable and the service was really good! Definitely check this place out! Not super touristy, and Michelin mentioned!

The best pasta I had in Rome. Their cacio e pepe was my favourite (perfectly creamy and peppery) but the carbonara was also divine. We asked to get each pasta split on two plates so we could easily try 2-3 dishes. (Hence the small portion in the photo). Charming outdoor seating and nice staff. We came back again on the same trip because it was sooo good. When in Rome!

I had the fantastic experience of dinning here last Wednesday While visiting Rome. After walking 25000 steps we finally sat down to enjoy the Amatriciana. It really was the most fantastic dish I’ve ever had the privilege to eat. The staff were all fantastic very polite & welcoming. If in Rome you have to try this dish. Next time I visit I’ll be ordering the Carbonara as a starter and the Amatriciana for the main course as I wouldn’t be able to leave without having it again.

Really don’t get what’s up with some of the negative reviews. We had a wonderful time here. The service was fantastic and personable, the food was excellent including the carbonara and the beef tartare. The server also recommended excellent wine. All in all, an excellent experience, and I had high expectations. Definitely worth a visit.

Better to reserve because they can reject your entry even though there are many seat available if you don’t have reservations. Order 2 carbonara only and it costs us 50 euro, certainly a little expensive. The taste was too bland for me unfortunately.

Amazing. I have had Carbonara many times in Italy. I really think this one stands out. We had a table right next to the kitchen & watched chef make the food while having a bottle of wine. Would definitely go again.
