Michelin-recommended for 2 consecutive years. This raised our curiosity.
We chose Lucie to celebrate my birthday, hoping for a local gourmet experience that felt special and memorable to match the theme. The five-course tasting menu with wine pairing did not disappoint. The staff floated through the room with grace, warm smiles, and just the right amount of presence. Extra points for seating us beside the glass-walled kitchen, where we could watch every dish come together in real time.
That detail mattered even more because my partner is a professionally trained chef from Le Cordon Bleu. For him, the open kitchen added a front-row, observer’s layer to the evening, and for me, it added a little theatre.
Each course was thoughtfully presented, with flavours that felt refined, diverse, and beautifully in sync. The five-course Menu Émotion by Chef de Cuisine Arnaud Bloquel opened with an amuse-bouche “Du Jour,” followed by Le Bar, featuring Atlantic seabass with sugar cane, parsnip, and Bayuls vinegar. The parsnip, thinly shaved and shaped into a delicate flower, was a quiet showstopper.
Next came La Saint Jacques with scallop, green mango, shiso, aged rhum, and olive oil. The green mango sorbet was a surprise I did not see coming. Light, refreshing, and perfectly timed.
The main course, Le Pigeon, featured Richview Farm squab with fig, beetroot, and fig leaf reduction. Bold, balanced, and cooked to perfection. The fig sauce tied everything together without overpowering the dish.
Dessert arrived with La Griotte, a playful yet elegant combination of morello cherry, Valrhona Caraïbe 66 percent chocolate, vanilla, and cacao nibs. The final course, La Banane, closed the night with green banana, Valrhona chocolate, caviar, and gold flakes. A finish that felt celebratory and slightly indulgent, exactly as a birthday should.
The wine pairing elevated every course and felt intentional rather than repetitive. A personal favourite was the Clos de Kew Chardonnay from Niagara’s Kew Vineyard, a lovely local highlight.
Service throughout the evening was graceful, engaging, and knowledgeable, paced in a way that let the night unfold naturally, without ever feeling rushed. We were hoping to meet the chef but we saved it for next time.
Lucie is intimate, polished, and confident in its craft. Perfect for celebrations, milestones, or anyone craving a tasting menu that feels personal and worth talking about the next day. Easily one of the most memorable gastronomic experiences we’ve had in Toronto.
