"Got a special occasion? Odds are, Lucila Cakes is probably making your cake. Its moist, dense, rum-filled cakes are legendary in South Florida. Recipes range from fruit and nuts all the way to chocolate and ginger, but two things remain the same: they’re all greased in a Bundt cake tin and they all contain a ton of rum." - Olee Fowler, Amber Love Bond

On 1/9 I place an order for a custom birthday cake for woman and 12 coconut cupcakes. I ordered the cakes in mable flavored with flowers design and the cupcakes to be decorated to match the cake. What I received was far from a custom cake and the flavor was NOT marble. The cake I was given is the generic cake they have for walking customers I as have walked in many times and pick up a cake from you last minute. I was charged $215 which is ridiculous for what I received. Attached you will find a picture of the cake I received. As you can see this is NOT a custom cake and not in the flavor that I ordered. I have contact the manager numerous times over the last few months and never have I received a callback. The worst customer service I have ever receive…. buyers beware stay away from this cake designer they are horrible! They are not in the business of creating beautiful cakes there in the business of ripping off customers!!!!!

I flew in from Maryland and was told how great their cakes are… well it’s true! Here’s a photo of my Godson’s cake! It was delicious! Their customer service was fantastic! It was last minute and they really were accommodating. So pleased that I’ve added this bakery to my address book for future visits to Miami. By the way, our family ENJOYED it. Rum Cake ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Purchased a birthday cake and the cake was dry, with no flavor at all, the design around the cake was cracked and to top it off they misspelled the name. The service is terrible, I received a few IG texts from someone that promised me that they were going to replace the cake or give me back my $200.00. Is been over a month waiting for someone to call me. Stay away from this place. Edda’s cake is way better

Love Lucila cakes. They have been a part of my family's tradition for years and we wouldn't have it any other way! Check out the most recent one we ordered below... total show stopper and SO GOOD! If you haven't tried them, Vanilla Rum is their signature so highly recommend that flavor. Their Instagram is @lucilacakesmiami

First of all let me start off by saying I been ordering cakes from this place for over 5 years. At the beginning they were very detailed and created amazing cakes. The last two cakes looks like they got a kindergarten class to make them. I decided to give them another opportunity because of how good our previous experience had been. This last cake was the nail in the coffin for me and I will never buy another cake from them. They didn’t even get the color right and the spelling looks like they just learned how to write cursive. Once we questioned them about the default of the cake the ladies excuse was she didn’t have the proper tools to make the cake. However they still charged the full amount. It seems like their prices have increased but aren’t paying their employees good money and are loosing good employees. And now loosing customers.

Had the best experience at Lucila Cakes. The staff was so welcoming and accommodating. They worked within my budget, answered all my questions and customized my cakes to my exact specifications. Ontop of that, the cake was delicious! We received raving reviews from all our guests. We ordered the traditional vanilla rum and the coconut with dulce de lychee (YUM). The designers they have here are true artists and this is a small business worth advocating for. A true Miami staple and a must try for everyone out there looking for a cake! Pictured here are the 2 cakes I ordered :) @lucilacakesmiami

I am so thankful to this Lucila shop on bird road. They did such an outstanding job on our wedding cake. It was an outdoor wedding (Vizcaya) so it was not an easy feat getting the cake there and having it hold up. They managed it all like the pros they are and needless to say it was SO DELICIOUS with their signature taste and style that is a Miami staple. It was so gorgeous, a million thank yous!!

20 years ago I had the most phenomenal wedding cake, vanilla rum. This is not the same cake. My understanding is the company was sold and is now run by a Venezuelan company that changed the recipe and reduced the rum. So disappointed. Next time Edda’s. I believe that is still one of the original partners from Lucila’s on coral way and 57th.
