Lucile's Creole Café - Review - Wash Park - Denver - The Infatuation

"Lucile’s makes us homesick for beignets and the bayou—even though we’re Colorado natives. The Creole brunch spot does so many things well, like ultra-fluffy biscuits, spicy andouille sausage omelets, and piping hot beignets, which is probably why even after 40 years and seven Front Range locations, they still attract major crowds, especially on the weekends. Eating on the Southern-style porches at the Boulder and Wash Park locations is an extra treat." - Allyson Reedy

The hostess greeted us and mentioned this is a scratch kitchen, everything is homemade from scratch. We were seated outside with a covered patio. The warm Beignets with homemade blueberry jam is amazing. My plate of biscuits and sausage gravy, red beans, cheesy grits and potatoes was fantastic. The staff is very friendly and and down to earth. I highly recommend!!!

Google
Biscuit and gravy a success. The gravy has so much flavor. The absolute best hollandaise sauce here, exactly how I'd make it fully acidic plenty of lemon. Just got a side to try and will have to come back for bennies next time in Denver. The Cuban OJ is one I've never seen before I don't think, fresh oj rum yum, was a good substitute for a mimosa

Google
One of a small chain of breakfast/lunch places that are meant to evoke New Orleans. The menu is the same as the Evans location, but is executed better at Evans. The bigness were crispy on the edges and a bit dense in the middle. They won't make you forget Cafe du Monde. The chicory coffee was fine. The cheese omelet was pretty basic. The eggs sardou are a much better choice. The potatoes were tasty. Service was fast and welcoming. The space is nicely decorated and comfortable. The outstanding feature is the outdoor seating when it's not to hot. They did not seem to have a Wi-Fi connection There is a small lot, but parking may be limited when the other businesses are open. It's adequate in the morning when they are not open.

Google
Food was phenomenal. They even provide a little bread treat as an appetizer covered in powdered sugar. Mimosas were served in an ice tray. I recommend any of their eggs Benedict. I found it a little loud inside so if you can get outside dining, do it. If you're not hard of hearing you should be fine inside.

Cute decor. Great customer service by front desk & Sophia. Yummy food! Beignets - good Chai tea - so good Cajun breakfast - daughter loved it French toast plate with sausage - son loved it Shrimp and grits - hubby loved it Fried trout plate - so good Shrimp po boy - my girl loved it Finally was able to make it on our way back home. Would definitely come back when in town. @travel_lifestyle_chow

Google
Service was a bit slow, I sat outside at my table waiting for someone to take my order for at least 15 min, I looked around and made it clear I was ready too. They had a few workers cycling the patio seating so maybe there was just confusion on who was taking me? I ordered the house hot chocolate, drink it fast cus once it is cold it is nasty and watery tasting, I will say there wasn’t anything special about it for the price but it wasn’t nasty either. I got the beignets and house potatoes. The beignets were very overcooked and hollow inside, not the golden and fluffy ones I have gotten around NOLA that’s for sure. I was actually quite disappointed by the outcome of them and wasn’t able to finish, I only ate 2/4, wish they had the fruit compote or something to dip them in if they are going to make them so dry and overcooked. The house potatoes were very good though, well seasoned and cooked. Best item I got out of my meal. I do think I would come back though, they have some amazing sounding and looking menu items I want to try. Maybe they can redeem themselves for me :)

Google
Great food and ambiance! A nice slice of back home, Southern cooking with a modern flare. Be prepared for money wait times when the weather is nice, v especially at brunch. On the upside, we had lovely mimosas waiting on a corner of the patio in the sun.

Google
Food was just OK. Beignets had a range of quality control. Some were fluffy, others were almost complete hollow. The biscuit looks 9/10, but tastes 4/10. Lumpy throughout, not crispy outside or soft inside - lacking flavor, not buttery tastiness. The eggs and omelets come with no pre-seasoning. All around bland food with a range quality control. Redeeming factor is the Atmosphere - which is fun and vibrant - really good vibes.

Yelp
Sooooo good! Being from the south I came ready to judge lol I was pleased with the dishes and the price. Our server had a section by herself and still managed to give us the best service! Food came out super fast as well. Everyone was so nice. I tried a few things and enjoyed them all. 1) pancake: was buttery and sweet. Their house syrup was the perfect pairing! 2) French toast: omg drool worthy. And the sausage was the best part. They said it was spicy but it was more so just seasoned to me. 3) beignets they were tasty and thick. Not as crispy on the edges as I'd like but they were good. 4) baileys Irish coffee. Straight liquor lol 5 shrimp po boy 6) buttermilk biscuit: had to be cooked in a cast iron with real butter because it's crispy at the top and so soft and fluffy at the middle and bottom. Add honey and it's amazing! The music was lively, they played New Orleans band music

Yelp
I called the location on Ogden, asked about reservations - the girl laughed and hung up. Ok b*tch, we'll go to a different location. Called Logan, at least she said it's first come but didn't offer to put us on any list which is mentioned on the website. Upon arrival we checked in with the hostess, she said 20 minutes. We headed to the bar and got a couple drinks. We stood outside the door enjoying our well made bloody Mary's and I see the people who came in after us get called for seating. We're both a party of 2. We check with the hostess and she sees that she crossed us off her hand written list. She says she doesn't know what happened but she can seat us right now. Glad I was paying attention... Our server was great (minus the forgotten items), the food was fantastic. Had the service matched the food I would've given 5 stars all around. To both of the hostesses who earned this place a 3 star rating: the service industry is NOT for you. The job is not a difficult one and neither of you did the bare minimum of the job you are paid for.

Yelp
Delicious authentic creole food! I've been to Louisiana so I can honestly say the beignets are legit!!! Everything about this restaurant makes me feel like I'm back in Louisiana!!!! Love the outside bar area as well. Dining area is super nice. Service was excellent. Definitely will be back!!!!

Yelp
Favorite brunch spot in Denver. We always make sure to come here whenever we are in the area

Yelp
It's Mardi Gras season so I've definitely been craving some Cajun food. The beignets always hit the spot and this time I got the creole omelette which was the first for me. It was so dang delicious. Our server was super friendly and we were able to talk about our connections in Alabama, which was fun. I went to the location on Logan and that was my first time at that location. I really liked the outside seating with the fire pit. Parking was tough, but it is Denver.

Yelp
Came here for brunch last Sunday and let me just say, it's been a min since I've found a stellar restaurant! Service top notch! I unfortunately didn't get my servers name but he took such good care of my table! Ambiance for a packed place it was so easy to get a table with indoor and outdoor seating, great for families. It was my first time trying creole food and it did not disappoint! I had the eggs jennifer and of corse the beignet. They tasted really good and the potatoes, they were out of this world! Everything is homemade, even the ketchup!
google avatar

Yelp
Have been here a handful of times and it's consistently good! Portions are really big, so I love sharing and trying a bit of everything. The biscuits and gravy are my favorite and they're so satisfying and crumbly! I typically get the eggs Benedict and it always hits. I've had the same waitress, michelle, every time I've eaten there and she's so knowledgeable and friendly!! Really cute place!

Yelp
I've heard amazing things about Lucile's. Being from Louisiana, I needed to stop in after being told so many times to go in. This review is only off of one experience and will be needing to go back to give another review for other items. I went in on Sunday during brunch peak hours alone. Thankfully I was able to sit at the bar top instead of waiting in the long queue. This place is BUSY, and I'm sure most items can back that up. Everyone was drinking the famous bloody Mary's and enjoying the beautiful weather outside. I haven't had a poboy in a while since I haven't been home for some time. I wanted the staple item that reminded me of home. Reading the menu, I was a little confused on the "toppings" for the poboy since they were not your typical items. I opted anyways because I trusted the chef's decision to add these toppings. I was somewhat letdown unfortunately just because to me it didn't taste like a true poboy. The French bread didn't have that crunch a poboy should have also. Like I said in the earlier part of the review, I can't dock the restaurant for one time I myself don't like too much. The gumbo was great and although the roux was a little thick it still was full of flavor. Can never go wrong with gumbo. Staff was great and killin' it for how busy they were. They didn't seem stressed or overwhelmed and held their composure well. The restaurant reminds me of home and spending days with my family. I will be back to try other items soon. Laissez le bon temps rouler

Yelp
Stopped in to Lucile's yesterday for lunch with some of my favorite coworkers. It was my first time and it was great. The restaurant was pretty full so that was a good sign! And it was very warm and welcoming. The staff here were all friendly and quick to assist you. We all ordered some caffeine to get us started (I myself got a latte which ended up not being my favorite it had not much flavor). We each ordered the French toast which came with sausage, egg and fruit. It was all so so good..The syrup for it was super yummy. Loved that everything there including the condiments, were homemade! I'll definitely recommend this little gem to people who want a good brunch!

Yelp
Best Breakfast Experience The French Toast is exceptional, and I particularly enjoy the trout with grits--it's a delightful combination. Additionally, their Bloody Marys are among the best I've ever had.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday morning, and as expected, it was busy. Here's a tip: if you're in a small group and don't mind sitting at the bar, ask to sit at the bar. We had no wait time doing that, and it would've been a 20-30 minute wait otherwise. Our waitress was quick and friendly. We got our drinks out to us fairly quickly. I got their famous Bloody Mary, and as a Bloody Mary lover I was not disappointed. They have one of the most unique garnishes I have ever seen! We also started with some beignets, and I gotta say I think they're better than the ones from Cafe du Monde in New Orleans (I know, I know, I'm just telling it as it is). We also had buttermilk biscuits as a side, and wow those things are huge and amazing. I could only eat a couple bites before I had to stop to save room for the main dish. I got the Eggs Sardou, which overall were pretty good. The potatoes and creamed spinach were not my favorite, but it otherwise was tasty overall. We were so happy with our food here. The portions were so big that we basically had a whole other meal each to take home. Glad we got to try this place out!

Yelp
Sorry but coming from the south and having been to New Orleans the food here is good but not the best I have I had. I am picky about the soul food I grew up with. I got the cajun salmon breakfast with grits and potatoes. Overall, pretty good but not the best southern food I have had but I am picky. A cute place to visit and the service was very friendly. I will say that the biscuits and homemade jams were amazing. Even though I am probably saying more negative, overall the food was good and it is a place I would come back to.

Yelp
The food was incredible. I recommend The Beignets. Really authentic and delicious. Service was top notch. Can't wait to comeback.

Yelp
Omg, what a yummy place. Come and get a taste of New Orleans! I really liked the shrimp and grits, they were delicious. My wife loved her pesto Gouda Benedict; it's a special limited time entree & I tried/ loved it also. Everyone else with really liked their entrees, the beignets were also very good. They have a blueberry purée on the tabletop that goes well with them. The place itself is nice, has a New Orleans vibe- imagine that. The service was great our server took good care of us. Ultimately, I plan on coming back the place was fantastic. Recommended and happy eating!

Yelp
I came in for brunch with my sisters. Everything was a delight especially the beignets!

Yelp
Wow. I went to this place 20 years ago before today, and kind of am mad at myself for not returning before today. A couple extra miles shouldn't keep me from this place. Won't again. Wife and I had a GREAT experience. First, as always, is service. Isabella gave us spotless service. She provided the perfect balance of being there when we needed something, but leaving us alone to eat and talk. Mind reader. Anyway, wife got the Eggs Pontchartrain. I had a bite. Delicious. I had the creole omelet, and wasn't shy at loading it up with the creole seasoning on the table nor the hot sauce, also already on the table. I was questioned about putting cheese on everything, I said yes, I suggest you do the same, and go with the jalapeno. Their iced tea was too sweet for me, but you...do you. I just caved and got an IPA, and wife got the prosecco, which came in a classy bottle and classy glass. Isabella was nice enough not to charge me for my two sips of the sweet iced tea. I admittedly am not a biscuit person. But, if I could imagine what a great biscuit tasted like, it would be this one. Some kind of jam and butter already on the table. I found it odd that they weren't jamming out New Orleans music, but maybe they just realize that their food is so good that they don't need it. I definitely recommend, and see you there (and won't wait 20 years this time).

Kris H.

Yelp
The food was great! If you go 100% order the beignets. We ended up ordering a second order of them.
google avatar

Allen C.

Yelp
If you're in the mood for a heavier breakfast, this is a good place to come by. Servers were flexible w/ our large group and were able to put a few large tables together. Food is solid/tasty, but definitely on the heavier side. If you're into bloody marys, our group said they were tasty and hit the spot. Food selection is southern/Creole/cajun style as the name implies. House potatoes are good and seemed to be better than the cheesy grits. Po boy sandwiches were tasty. Located in a small neighborhood so city/street parking only.

Justin B.

Yelp
the beignets were decent but the cajun style poached eggs with potatoes were really bad. I couldn't even eat it. I was disappointed because the place had good reviews but it really was very bad
google avatar

Deborah M.

Yelp
The kiddo was starving and had never been here so I tempted with a description of the biscuits! He was excited to try and just one filled him up! We also split the shrimp po boy and I had to have some collards. It was all delicious and satisfying!
google avatar

Rich R.

Yelp
It's that time of year & Lucile's has Crawfish Etoufee back on the menu - at least as a Friday Special until the season is in full swing! I may be crazy - but I drove 310 miles round trip just to have it for lunch last Friday!! The atmosphere here and the incredibly friendly and efficient people makes this place better than every place I tried on a disappointing trip to New Orleans!! I'll be making this trip again later in the season when the Crawfish are bigger & more plentiful!! It's very much worth the drive!!
google avatar

Arsenio H.

Yelp
First off beignets were outstanding. 4.9 Got the Eisenhower and French toast. Run of the mill breakfast. 2.5 Cuban OJ was a solid brunch drink 3.5 Service: 2.0 Overall, 2.5. I feel like I can see what kind of atmosphere they are aiming for but they missed the mark. Service was sub-par, I've had better at Chick-fil-A. The food was mediocre at best but at a premium price point. If I need a beignet fix I could possibly return for those.

Yelp
I passed this place several times and always wanted to try. Finally came on a weekday morning with friends for brunch. Overall happy with the decision especially given that there are not that many good Cajun cafés around in Denver. Parking: there's no parking lot, so be ready to do the street parking around the neighborhood Wait: we waited for about half an hour during peak weekend brunch hours. We put our names down and went to the coffee bar within the restaurant to get some bloody Mary's and cajun orange juice with rum My favorite part about this place is definitely the food. I loved all the jams to pair with the biscuit. For my main entrée, I got a blackened salmon. This game was extremely flavorful, and the inside was tender. The fish was fresh, and there was no fishy smell or taste at all. I had plain gravy on the side which I also enjoyed a lot. Also want to call out that displays have has a big menu Cons: service was friendly, but a little slow. In addition, the building itself was old, which certainly brings a charm but there is a strong smell in the carpet - maybe also because I went there on a rainy day.
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
I'm shocked to see the 4 star average for this place. Came across it when I was visiting Denver, and we ended up going back again we enjoyed it so much. Won't get into everything, but some highlights include the beignets (just like nola), the Bloody Mary, shrimp and grits, and the grits on their own as well. The juices are fresh squeezed, eggs cooked as requested, all around delicious. Brad was our waiter the first visit, super friendly, had a great chat with him. My only regret is not buying a t-shirt.

Bridget L.

Yelp
We usually make the mistake of giving in to the offer of having the delicious beignets with coffee, before our amazing meals and are inevitably stuffed for the day! The service is attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. We love the cozy atmosphere and it feels welcoming, no matter how busy it can get. The servings are plentiful. I always get the blackened salmon, but whatever I see others with my party order, it looks equally as delicious. This is such a great place to go, especially if you are in the Denver University area. It gets busy, so try to arrive early!
google avatar

Kate G.

Yelp
We were able to walk in and get seated right away on the patio for a late breakfast on a Friday morning. The fresh squeezed orange juice was fantastic. The biscuits and assortment of jams were delicious, too. I ordered the creole omelet with jalapeño grits and both were delicious but upon seeing the potatoes my friends ordered I was a little envious of them. We had high hopes for the beignets but they were definitely thicker and denser than what I would have expected. Overall a really nice meal.

Jessi B.

Yelp
I want to start this by saying I'm from New Orleans. The food at Lucile's was not bad but not authentic. The concept was there but the food was very bland. The service also wasn't the best. I had to walk inside after waiting for ten minutes to get a server to greet us. This place wasn't the best but also wasn't the worst. Think it would have got a 4 star if the service was a little better. They also only split checks 2 ways so if you have a big party beware of that.
google avatar

Ivy G.

Yelp
Y'all... this place has a line every Saturday and Sunday for brunch but let me tell you a little secret: it's not that good! The food is sometimes just a little too rich. Like tasty on your first bite and then you start to feel a bit icky. But I love their firepit.

Kelly D.

Yelp
Our server, Marco, was great. Six in our party all had great things to say about their food. The Tuesday Special - Spicy BLT was delicious! The French Toast looked great. I'm not partial to Grits, but the Shrimp and Grits were rated very good!
google avatar

Lisa A.

Yelp
This location is far and above the others i have visited. Prior to our visit i had sworn off of Lucilles! Danielle shattered my world and Marcos made this the best experience ever! The food, service, the vibe! The other patrons! ***Lucilles @ Logan *** wonderful!
google avatar

Susan K.

Yelp
A creole twist with a Colorado reference, I enjoyed the eggs Pontchartrain -- crisp fried mountain trout, perfectly poached eggs topped with tarragon -flecked béarnaise sauce, and half serving each of well-seasoned potatoes and cheesy grits. Everything was flavorful and attractive, with vibrant colors and contrasting textures. A large biscuit comes as a side, with fruit jam -- so leave some "room" or be prepared to take home! Able to dine under the shade of a patio, or inside, at this location (one of several in the state). Service was swift. Open all days until 2 PM.
google avatar

Kevin M.

Yelp
Everything about this place was spot on, portions were very good size. I did not leave hungry!!
google avatar

Yelp
Great food large portions great service! Fire pit outside, ambiance is cute! New Orleans aesthetic, our server Brad was great :)
google avatar

Madison B.

Yelp
Food is always great, people are always friendly, gluten free and dairy free options!

Izzy H.

Yelp
I've never liked grits, but holy cow, the jalapeño cheese grits here blew my mind!! This place has such great food -- I love the beignets and the servers here are so nice! It's also just a cute and homey spot in general -- during the spring and summer, you can sit out on the patio and enjoy the sunshine!
google avatar

Yelp
Had a lovely brunch at the picnic tables out front. It was a pretty busy Sunday morning so service was a little spotty but we ended up with everything we needed. I enjoyed my fresh-squeezed mimosa but folks weren't impressed with the bloody marys that were claimed to be "famous." Just kind of bland. The biscuits were super fluffy. Personally I prefer them a bit more dense and crisp. The potatoes were bomb, so don't sleep on those. The grits were nothing special. I did enjoy my Eggs New Orleans but there wasn't much eggplant? I guess I was expecting a larger, crispier portion. Would definitely return if I were in the mood for Cajun cooking specifically but maybe not my immediate go-to.

Osvaldo V.

Yelp
I got food poisoning from this place it was bad, was throwing up for about 2 hours, overall places is fantastic but the food was just not it
google avatar

TJ M.

Yelp
Wow, what a gem! Food is fantastic! Make sure you go hungry because you will fill up on these comfort foods. Make sure you order the beignets too! I will be back! The French Toast is the best I've ever had.

Shawna J.

Yelp
AMAZING. Good food in Denver is hard to come by most of the time, but I have never been disappointed in any meal I've gotten from here. The hosts and servers are all kind and enthusiastic to tell you what they offer. I go here for brunch usually.. their orange juice really is THAT good.. I was shocked/it almost made me not want to mix my champagne into my mimosa because of it. The blackened salmon dish is incredible. Have gotten it many times and again it hits every time. So much flavor in everything they have. Just go. Go here if you want something that tastes like a home cooked meal by someone who loves you.. but like 10x better than that.

Eilen S.

Yelp
We came here for brunch on a Sunday at like 12:30pm. We had to wait for about 20 minutes for a table but the wait wasn't too bad. Many waiting were getting drinks at the bar and standing outside drinking it which I'm sure made the wait better. Very LGBTQ+ welcoming which I loved. Many beautiful smiling faces living their truth. The vibes where totally right. This would certainly be an excellent place for a birthday brunch! The food was absolutely delicious. We initially didn't plan on the beignets because it was just two of us but it was absolutely the most delicious thing we ate (warm, sugary, buttery!). Biscuit was fresh and delicious. The french toast was my second favorite thing I ate. Absolute perfection and came with like a caramel dip/ syrup thing. We also had their caffe au lait which was delicious. My only complaint would be the prices definitely add up so we had a pricey breakfast. However, we ate like kings and had a great time. Will add this spot to our rotation of breakfast spots.

Yelp
I was excited to try this place out but boy was I disappointed. The service was amazing as soon as I walked in I was greeted and sat immediately. The place was lively with families, friends, and jazz music. My server, Carly, was super kind and awesome! I ordered the beignets and shrimp and grits but got the grits jalapeño and cheese. My food came out in a decent amount of time. I was surprised my shrimp and grits came with a biscuit. It was quite large, buttery, and hot. I could tell it was made fresh. The beignets were dense and although warm, not hot. I've had them in New Orleans and I couldn't possibly expect them to live up to the infamous Cafe Du Monde but I certainly did expect better. The shrimp and grits, while flavorful, just really missed the mark for me. I've had this dish once again in New Orleans and many other soul food and brunch places in other states and it just didn't awaken my sense and call me back for bite after bite. The grits also didn't give me the kick or cheesiness I was seeking. I expressed to the staff that I wasn't the happiest with the flavor of the food and they did take care of me which I really appreciated. The service is really great, and I hope that maybe I just ordered the wrong things on the menu.

Yelp
Visited Lucile's with my family on a rainy day for brunch and it was delicious! The interior of the restaurant is super cozy and has a great homey vibe. I absolutely loved that all of our meals came with a biscuit. I can't stress this enough: this was the best biscuit I've ever had! It's been a week and I'm still thinking about it. It was giant, freshly baked, buttery, and delicious. We started off with an order of beignets as well, which is a must. They're cooked to order, fluffy, and coated in powdered sugar. For an entree, I was already full from eating my entire biscuit, but I had the gumbo and enjoyed it. Plus, portions are super large so I brought it home for leftovers. I also had the grapefruit juice and it was super fresh! I would definitely come back here next time I'm in the area!

Yelp
Wow. Okay I get it. I get the hype. I've been living in Denver for 3 years and never really felt the need to try Lucille's and now I'm kicking myself wondering why I didn't try it soon. I live nearby the one on Logan St and always see a line at this place so today I told my husband, you know what? let's just see what the hype is about. and boy we weren't ready. First of all there were 10 couples waiting when we got there so we figured an hour wait at least, but we got in in like 10 minutes?! They have a bar outside this location so we ordered some cocktails and they really hit the spot. I had the mimosa with cranberry juice and my husband got the cuban OJ. Once seated we were immediately greeted by our wonderful server, Corey, who grabbed us watered and asked if we had been in before... "nope, our first time!" and he welcomed us and we ordered. We got the beignets, biscuits and grits, cajun potatoes and the cajun breakfast. The beignets came out first and they were piping hot and covered with fluffy powdered sugar and practically melted in your mouth. Then came the buttermilk biscuits.. if you're from the South like me these aren't your typical buttermilk biscuits as they were a little more crumbly in texture but the flavor was all there. 10/10! All of their jams and hot sauce and ketchup are homemade as well. Love! Then we got our food and holy f*^~k!! The cheesy jalaapeno grits were out of this world and hubby got the cajun breakfast and it was redbeans with meat and poached eggs with hollandaise on top and let me just say as a certified picky eater-- this was UNREAL. It should be studied. 100000/10. Lastly, I'll end on the potatoes. We've all been to a breakfast joint with bland ass potatoes that they just throw in a skillet with a little oil and salt and call it a day. But these... these were perfectly seasoned with cajun spices and charred to perfection. Do yourself a favor and come to Lucille's, you'll be glad you did.

Yelp
Came for a Galentines Day bridal party brunch and had great food and good service! We had a medium to large party with 6 people. when it came to pay we were notified that they can't split a bill for a table that large so we paid in full. The manager Daniella had an awful way of speaking to people and completely belittled me and our entire group for simply asking why you can't split a bill up. She let us that the system they use is from the year 2000.... it's 2025 ? Maybe update your system or possibly consider answering questions like a human being and not an angry tyrant who's above all. Completely ruined the experience for a new paying customer :( Definitely wouldn't recommend big parties unless your prepared to all pay together

Yelp
Yet another Yelp find. When I'm hungry I like to check out different place to eat. I search Yelp and I have found some fantastic places. This most definitely is one of them.we arrived just before 10am on a Saturday and we're seated in about 5 minutes. By the time we left, they had quite a line. So I would suggest, the earlier the better. My friend had the Eggs Pontchartrain, he was really impressed, and I had the Carlin County, the gravy on top of the biscuit has a little bit of a kick, which I for one enjoy. I would suggest tasting it first before adding hot sauce and or sal & pepper. The food was prompt and the staff friendly.

Yelp
Ordered the beignets, cafe au lait, and gumbo. Beignets were so fluffy and crispy and delicious, cafe au lait was amazing, and gumbo was perfectly spicy with a great texture. Service was spectacular and the vibes were awesome. Would highly recommend!

Yelp
After walking past Lucile's for months I finally set a date to go with a girlfriend, and I'm so glad we did! On a Saturday around 1PM we were seated after about 20 minutes, which was enough time to grab a bloody mary (made with pickle vodka! tart and refreshing!) and an iced chai (cold, sweet, a little spice, and refreshing!) We immediately ordered the beignets to share - an order comes with 4 so we each went home with one for later. They were much bigger than I expected, and they came out hot and crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and covered in powdered sugar.. need I saw more? For mains we had the Eggs Sardou and Eggs New Orleans and shared bites of each. The Sardou came with creamed spinach that reminded me of growing up in the south, and the New Orleans had a nice kick to the sauce that kept the tomatoeyness from being overpowering. And THE BISCUIT! Oh my goodness. Huge. Light. Fluffy. All my biscuit dreams come true. And there are so many choices! Get your poached egg runny and ask for half grits and half potatoes. For my grits I went with cheesy jalapeno, and then no cheese on the potatoes (but my friend opted in for cheese on both and loved it!) I also loved that the potatoes weren't the usual small, dried out cubes that so many places serve. These were thickly sliced and cooked in a delicious sauce, so they were nice and tender but still held their shape! Huge portions, delicious food, and friendly service. I'll be back!

Yelp
Always delicious! We love brunch at Lucile's and can't begin to name a favorite as everything is delicious! Great staff and service. We love outside seating when it's warm enough but the inside is lovely year round!
