I tried this restaurant for the first time several years ago but don't fully recall what the experience was like. All I can remember was that the food was ok and it wasn't the best BBQ I've had, but I was willing to return for another visit to see if my opinion had changed. That time had arrived and my family and I ate here for dinner on 26 May 2025. We stopped in what appeared to be non-peak hours since the restaurant didn't seem busy at all. In fact, when we walked in, there was only one couple that were ahead of us in line. We got checked in and were informed it would be about a 10-minute wait which I was surprised that neither of us (the couple in front and us) were getting seated right away. But hey, they had Tootsie Roll Pops at the front so I was happy.
When we finally got to our seat, the service from that point on was remarkable, mainly due to our server, Tyler. He was very attentive, extremely friendly, and moved very fast - all qualities of a server I enjoy especially when I'm starving. In fact, I commend the entire restaurant staff that evening because the food was arriving at a rapid pace. The only minor thing about the service timing was that our drinks came out a little slower than desired...especially considering that we only ordered beer. Oh well, I'm not an alcoholic so I don't "need" my drink right away especially when I had high quality H2O sitting right there.
We ordered the BBQ Rib Tip and Southern Fried Dill Pickles for our appetizers; "Pick 2" Combo Meals consisting of Texas-Style Beef Brisket, St. Louis Ribs, Baby Back Ribs, Jalapeno Cheddar Sausage, Smoked Half BBQ Chicken, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, Macaroni & Cheese, Southern Braised Greens, BBQ Beans, Southern Fried Okra for our main entrées and sides, respectively; and Buttermilk Double Chocolate Cake for our dessert. The highlights were definitely the Dill Pickles, Half BBQ Chicken, Braised Greens, and the Fried Okra. The BBQ Rib Tip, St. Louis Ribs, Sausage, Mac & Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, Beans, and Chocolate Cake were good (not the best, but still good). Unfortunately, the Brisket and Baby Back Ribs were on the drier side and didn't hit the mark. In fact, while I was sitting there, I remember that the ribs were the reason why I thought this restaurant was just ok from my initial visit. Let's just say, this second visit wasn't any better with respect to the ribs. The brisket was interesting because my brisket was somewhat ok; however, the brisket on my daughter's plate was not the same (it's like she got the leftover scraps - see attached photos for comparison).
Overall, the price-to-quantity/quality ratio was adequate - you won't leave hungry from the amount they serve. The service was good, yet the initial wait time was unnecessary, in my opinion. I realized during the dining experience that I forgot there were two entrances to this restaurant, which could be the reason for the 10-minute wait time for a not-so-busy restaurant. Regardless, I still liked my experience here as depicted in my 4-star rating, which was better than my initial visit several years ago. This restaurant is not the best BBQ business in Las Vegas and the surrounding areas, but still a good option for Summerlin especially if you're staying at Red Rock Resort and Spa. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.
