Lucky 99

This isn’t your typical Chinese takeout. They do not have whole chicken wings, spare ribs etc. They only give you one sauce packet. Even after requesting more sauce I received 1. For $42 for two shrimp fried rice with wings, they could’ve been a little more gracious. I will not be returning.

Lucky 99 has been around for a long time for good reason. You can get amazing food in large portions at a good price. I like the classic orange chicken, but for something different the Singapore noodles are excellent. I was surprised to see so many bad reviews as my family have had nothing but good experiences. They’re open on major holidays (yes even Christmas/New Years Day) and we order from them always around then. Support long standing small businesses.

Charges for condiments. Says don’t expect everything to be free here after all only asking for duck sauce!

Honestly was very surprised at how much I enjoyed what I got from here last night (Hunan with Veggies 🌶 🌽 ) as well as the spring rolls with an amazing sauce. We’ve seen this place a ton and never stopped in until now, I can definitely say that I’ll be back. My brother and wife also loved their meals as well (broccoli 🥦 beef 🥩). Thanks guys, see you soon!

Please don’t order from this place. I ordered a wonton soup and an egg roll and had diarrhea for two days plus when I was watching him make soup broth he put the ladle in to test the broth and taste it, and then he put the ladle back in the broth and Proceeded to pour the broth into a bigger pot. That is just disgusting to me. I should’ve knew better not to eat the food and walk out.

I have no idea what these bad complaints are talking about. This place has been open for years, and it is a favorite for locals. The food has always been consistent with flavor, temperature, consistency, and speed. Over the years I have tried almost every entree item and they are always heaping servings that could feed 2 people on their own for close to $10 total. They are extremely underrated. Customer service is very welcoming too, Sonia is like the asian auntie you never had.

Favorite Chinese food in frisco for take out! Always good! We have been ordering from them for years! Veggie soup is amazing! Steamed dumplings so good! My husband loves the orange chicken, says it reminds him from the Chinese places when he was a kid!! So good!

Food tasted good, price was reasonable, and speed was as expected. This is a "to go" place, not ideal for the family to sit down (no ambiance).

DO NOT order from here! I have ordered two times and two times my order was incorrect! I called and they are of absolutely no help. No apology, no empathy or regard for me spending over $50 for missing half my order. They need to be shut down for having such awful customer service. Never ever will they get my money to be treated badly.

Ordered delivery, chicken fried rice, large egg drop soup, 2 egg rolls and general tso chicken, extra spicy. There was zero spice and there were no soy sauce, duck sauce or fortune cookies. Uber had this rated as 4.8 and after I ordered I looked at yelp reviews. Mediocre at best.

If you want New York style Chinatown American Chinese food this is the go to place in North Dallas. It may not have the ambience of a fancy Chinese restaurants but the food is very tasty, reasonably priced and good size portions. We usually order the House Lo Mein, General Tso, chicken, Happy Family, Pepper Steak, and Singapore Noodles all with steamed rice. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food, this is not the place for you.

Ordered via Grubhub. They forgot one of the meals on the order. When I called, I was told that they ran out of the item. Never thought to call me or Grubhub so that maybe I could have picked another item. The guy who answered the phone could care less and downright rude. Awful customer service and the food was subpar. Plenty of other choice for subpar Chinese food in the Frisco area.

The young lady at the register lost her mind and started yelling at the workers 2 different times while we were waiting for our order. The restaurant has an open kitchen and we all got to hear her screaming at them and berating them. She is obviously either an owner or a member of the family that owned the place. She is not the right person to represent that business and the customers should not be exposed to her antics. She needs either medicine, anger management classes, or both. He name is Makita. The company by the same name make power tools. She tore through our nerves like an angle grinder. My wife asked for some sweet and sour sauce and Makita yelled that they are too busy to make it for her. I wanted to get loud with her, but I didn't want to stoop to her level. If you own the business, please move her to a different job. She has lost you a customer

Black pepper beef delicious served fast and hot. I loved the meal. If you miss the Covid 19, stop by for the worst appearance of chairs in rows with social distancing signs. Sent shivers up my spine. Couldn't wait to get out of there with my delicious meal.

It's take out only as they still have not opened their dining room. I order from there at least three times per month. The food is always hot and fresh. The lucky fried rice, the chicken broccoli and the Mongolian pork and chicken are my go to meals. I've eaten at all the Asian restaurants in a one mile area and this is the best.

I have tried a lot of different dishes at this place and everything is always good. It's takeout only but the food is fresh and delicious. The wonton soup is very tasty. I'm never disappointed when ordering from this place.

Horrible service. Missing main ingredients from dishes without making it right. Would never go back or recommend this place. There is another great place right nearby that is quick and delicious.

Be careful ordering to go from this restaurant. The white guy working the front desk only gave me one copy of my receipt, and proceeded write in his own tip without my knowledge on the other copy. I now unfortunately will have to follow up with law enforcement to report & resolve this issue. Never order to go from here unless you're cool with them stealing tips off your credit card!!

This place has no customer service. If your food comes out wrong it's your fault. They don't appreciate customers at all. I will never eat here again.

Food was delicious and hot. My first time coming here I don't regret it. Good amount of food for the price as well. Great customer service front lady was phenomenal. Will be returning for sure !

I working doing the Uber Eats and decided to finally try this place since this location has consistent orders. I want pleasantly surprised, I ordered the Pork Fried rice and it was delicious, bravo finallyfounda place with decent fried rice...definitely will come back to try other dishes.

My most recent experience last week with Lucky 99 was great. The ability to order online and customize precisely is appreciated. Their online ordering process allows you to be very specific about how you would like your meal prepared. For example, I chose to have less broccoli and more mushrooms in my orange chicken, as well as having it less spicy, and it was prepared wonderfully - exactly as I had requested. The size of the meals is huge, allowing me to actually split mine in half for a second meal later. They have a great "family special" which comes with two free cookies, two egg rolls, two meals, your choice of rice (extra charge for brown rice) and two soups which is a really good value. The egg drop soup did turn very gelatinous as I reheated it later; this was disappointing, but the wonton soup was delicious. My meal arrived steaming hot to my door within 20 minutes of my online order; Luck 99 is almost always very fast in their delivery service. I had asked them for contactless delivery and to ring my doorbell at drop-off, which they did.

They do not have dine in seating/service so I pickup and take home. Even though they seem to have very limited staff, the food is tasty, fresh and hot every time I've ordered.

I have been here 3-4 times. Maynn the smell outside draws you in it's so amazing. However, the food is underwhelming. Each time I've visited there's been something wrong with the order.shrimp fried rice overcooked devoid of flavor. Chicken over cooked..... noodles blah and the egg drop soup was an oil spill disaster. I'm not sure if people believe that just because they open in Frisco that they can be substandard in terms of their food and we will still come back. I tried my hardest to like this place since it's close but unfortunately it's been a waste each and every time. If you don't want to give your best effort with every plate then just don't be a business. Save the bad food for people who don't have a choice.

This is the chicken teriyaki. Not edible. Maybe 3 pieces of Broccoli. Really expected more!

If I could give Lucky 99 zero stars, I would. We are FREQUENT customers, and usually the food is exceptional. Unfortunately, the last two times we have ordered the curry, it has been unpalatable due to a spice level that is so intense you can smell it and it burns the nose. We brought this to their attention the first time, they assured us that it is supposed to be "creamy and mild" per the menu. We trusted our favorite Chinese restaurant that this was simply a mistake. Tonight, it was HORRIBLE...AGAIN. After calling and receiving the WORST customer service, they expected us to drive (in a storm) back to the restaurant to remake it. LOL This will be our last visit to Lucky 99. Too bad they have lost our business considering we order often enough that they know us by name. Find another place to eat, there are plenty of places in town that would love your business and this isn't one of them.

Best Rangoons in the area. Also. The shrimp lomein is a must here. Super friendly staff and a great option for a quick bite to eat

Very mediocre Americanized Chinese food. Both the service and taste of the food was unremarkable. Even though I ordered an egg roll, I found out that I had to pay extra for a small portion cup of sweet and sour sauce. The restaurant itself is in need of a good deep cleaning. Their dining room chairs are very old, dirty, and worn. I had to swap out my chair several times as the ones I sat in sunk and were very uncomfortable. It was very cold and windy outside today (low 30's). The interior of the restaurant was not much warmer than the outside. No heating at all. Everyone I saw had to wear their jackets while eating.

I am not much of a Yelper, however, because I had such a long day worked really hard and looked forward to treating my family and kids to an authentic meal, only to find out we were not welcome based on their lack of valuing how to treat their customer, it was very crucial to make them aware of their unacceptable customer service to the public. I would have rated this restaurant a 3 and up Unfortunately because we experience such horrible customer service we will never return here again. We made a simple request and when they came back with the order it was completely all wrong. We proceeded to communicate the order was not what we wanted and the lady at the front who was taking the order began to get combative and started to yell at the top of her lungs. For a second we thought something was wrong with the way we spoke and to her and wondered what we had said to make her go off so belligerently just from a simple statement " we did not want" what she gave us. Her tone went from a 1 to a 10 on the anger spectrum. This place needs to provide their employees training on customer service 101 , anger management, and how to effectively communicate when things may take a turn with your customer. 1 How do feel its ok rep yell at your customer for getting the customer's order wrong??? 2, How do you respond with we pay money as well!?? The point is not about the order being wrong it was the principle in how she carelessly handled a simple customer service miss communication. We had been ok with the order being wrong just by a simple fix, "oh my apology we can fix that, or make an adjustment here or ther" but noooo just skip all of those fundamental principles of customer service and scream at the customer!! Never heard or seen such behavior! This place clearly has zero concept about how to treat their customers, there are plenty of other places that can use our patronizing and our hard-earned money, even if it only cost 1$ we will never step foot into this place ever again!

We were looking for a nice substitute for some Chinese food as our regular place is closed right now. We were recommended to try Lucky 99. We called our order in and the process was easy and all our questions were answered to our satisfaction. I ordered honey chicken with broccoli and the sauce on the side. He ordered two orders of the chicken fried rice. The honey chicken was a little overcooked, but the sauce was pretty tasty and they put the steamed broccoli in a little container on the side. Overall it satisfied my craving. The chicken fried was up to his standard for a good fried rice. We are hoping our regular Chinese restaurant opens soon.

We ordered from Uber Eats on Valentine's Day not knowing anything about this restaurant but in the mood for Chinese food. Uber took quite some time to deliver our dinner, however it was still hot. I liked the ability to choose some options and gave instructions on how spicy or not I wanted. The dinner was very tasty. I do not know what condition the inside of the restaurant is in but after reading some of the other reviews they need to update the restaurant and order new tables and chairs. I'm glad I read these after I ordered and enjoyed my dinner. I will order again for a carryout. Not sure if I would use Uber again due to the additional fees they add on.

Love this place! I'm so glad they went through the remodeling and combining the two restaurants a while ago, cause I'd written them off for having gross Shrimp fried rice (which is how i judge chinese places im not familiar with). So Im mad one day I couldn't find good Chinese in the area, as a was venting to a friend a year or so later, I was convinced to go back and wow! The lo mein, shrimp fried rice, all white meat chicken, sweet and sour chicken, Etc is so good. I'm actually waiting on my delivery now! There's one lady that works the cashier and putting together orders, that is so funny. I can't describe her personality, but she is so down to earth and hilarious, I just love her. I can hear her now, 'girl, just order this, this time cause you got this last time!' Lol. I'm definitely a repeat customer!

We were pleasantly surprised at how good it was- not sure what the reviewers were expecting.We had garlic pork and green curry beef that was really tasty. We also had some great pork steamed dumplings with a wonderful flavor. I love it and will definitely will be back. I especially appreciate well cooked veggies-tender crisp just right

Just picked up my order and kitchen lady told me that sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard cost money even if I ordered crab ragoon... WTF!! She was very clear that she is going to give it to me FREE this time because I don't have any cash on me. How is it sweet and sour sauce cost extra money when I order crab ragoon appetizer? Guess what, I will not order from you again so you can keep your sweet and sour sauce.

The food was fresh and tasted amazing, this place actually cooks the broccoli! I loved every thing I ordered the chicken was crispy and battered just right, the fried rice was fresh and tasted amazing it had just amount of saltiness from soy sauce and mixed with egg and vegetables. The egg drop soup was wonderful it was hot and they didn't make it too thick like some other places do. No dine in due to Covid

Ordered from here 4-5 times before deciding to write a review. This is the quintessential American Chinese take-out, it isn't great, you'll feel like a brick and potentially regret it afterwards but is an indulgence from time to time. I've had the general Tso (by far from being the best, lacking flavor in the sauce and way too much breading), fried rice (oily and no flavor...), Kung pao (very watery and flavorless vegetables), lo mein (like their fried rice) among other things. Wouldn't order from here unless I was desperate, hungry or both.

Came here for dinner. I had the steamed pork dumplings, house eggs rolls and my husband had Jalapeño Chicken. All was delicious, we will be back! Everything tasted fresh and the dumplings were so delicate and fantastic. Only issue was sticky tables. Thanks for the good food and friendly service.

A treasure in a strip mall. No frills but Simply Outstanding. Just right salt, not too oily. Fresh ingredients. The lo mein and hot & sour soup are my simple favorites. Meat quality is good as well. The service is very home-style. Small, self serve facility. This is our second fav to Philly's Han Dynasty. And at a fraction of the price! A fabulous find!

This place was the only place open on Christmas. They were extremely busy but the food was amazing. Haven't had this great of Chinese anywhere in Plano/frisco.

We order the Chicken Fried Rice and my daughter found a metal filing in the rice. Luckily she found it because she ate the rice

This restaurant has been around for a long time in Frisco and we have been going there consistently for take out for the past 4-5 yrs. However it's always the same crappy customer service and what's the most annoying is that they are cheap when you ask for any hotsauce or chilli sauce. Other restaurants gladly give you as much as you want upon request, but this place only gives you one little half-filled sauce cup and give you dirty looks if you dare ask for more. One little hotsauce for a FAMILY MEAL??? I keep going there because my wife likes the food but if I could help it I wouldn't!!!

Food is good when you can actually get an order placed. The site says they're open on Tuesdays but online ordering was offline. So I've been trying to call both their listed phone numbers for the past 10 minutes. Rings forever then goes to a voicemail. Not sure what's going on. This has happened a few times. When the online ordering works I don't have an issue.

Great local Frisco takeout. Been getting delivery from here since they've opened. They merged with Lotus who was located down Preston. They used to have one of my favorite fried rice but since the merge, no longer offered Bbq pork with their fried rice which is why one star removed. Otherwise, great service and delicious food.

Food was nasty along with the service! All of our dishes was drenched in soy sauce...so gross. Will not be coming back.

My wife and I come here every week. It's our favorite "usual" place to go to and dine in. The Sweet and Sour Chicken is good. Always very hot when they bring it out. I like the breading on the chicken. There's actually quite a bit of breading but you still have a generous sized chunk of white chicken meat that it's wrapped around. The portion of chicken is easily big enough for two people to split. Sauce is good, no complaints whatsoever. My wife enjoys her white rice while I enjoy my fried rice. The one thing I love about this place is their fried rice. They don't add peas, carrots and everything else that everyone else adds. Just egg in the fried rice and that's the way I like it. Egg roll that comes with the meal is small but tasty and I typically don't like egg rolls. Water is very clean tasting here, always refill my water to go. The service in here is great. The people are always friendly! In fact the cashier even remembers us and our order every week! think she remembered us by our third visit here. The order style is like many other restaurants in the area. You come in, order at the register, and they bring your order out to you. Full menu is at the front at the register. They're also really fast. No matter what time of evening my wife and I come in I think our meal is usually ready in about 10 minutes or less. As far as price goes this place is very reasonable! I think my wife and I pay somewhere around $10.50 (give or take) before tip for a dinner order of Sweet and Sour Chicken with White Rice and an extra side of Fried Rice and an egg roll. For anyone who has had problems in the past with this place I'd easily understand the frustration but ask that you give this place time and another chance. They're still a fairly new place. They're still probably trying to figure things out (i.e. online orders). I don't pin these people for incompetent or dishonest. Just probably trying to learn something new and got something wrong for someone. We're human. It sucks. But we learn. Love this place. My wife and I will continue to return time after time!

My order arrived cold and I was told I would have a credit on file, however, when I called they told me they could not find it! THE STAFF IS RUDE! Order somewhere else! They clearly do not care about their customers!

Very awful customer service. I ordered for delivery over the phone and they typed my card number in incorrectly, which caused the card to decline. The lady on the phone then laughed to her employees saying "haha her card declined!" When I asked her to double check the number she said "just because it declined doesn't mean I typed it in wrong". I had her retype it correctly this time and of course it worked. I've never experienced anyone so rude and unprofessional, and we'll never order from them again.

This is probably my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Frisco-Plano area. Their food is very good & very cheap too. The portions are huge and it is located very close to my home. I have visited them 4 times in the last month and I will love to visit them again. It is becoming my regular bet every time I don't have anything to eat at at home as they prepare excellent food every time I order from them.

I have been waiting for this place to open for a long time. The place is clean, and it should as it is a new establishment. The decor is nice. The people are nice, but the food is just blah, there was nothing I hated and nothing I liked. It was just like the 2 star rating says, Meh.

So this might be kind of confusing... Lotus on Preston is now merging with Lucky 99 and it looks like they're keeping both names? I'll be happy to call it whatever they want as long as they keep serving the same consistency of good food! Recommended: Orange Chicken, Mongolian Beef, Hot & Sour Soup, and Eggrolls Not Recommended: Wonton Soup They have a family deal for $18.99 where you get two entrees, two soups, and two eggrolls (oh and they also threw in some complimentary almond cookies too). For a weekday night delivery, the lady on the phone estimated 45 minutes but I swear it was here within 25 minutes - score!

Our new favorite Chinese spot. It's literally been amazing. Highly recommend trying if you want Chinese. We get general tso, sesame chicken and crab wontons. Veggies are actually good too!

This is our local place. The restaurant is dirty and the tables are sticky so I would not eat at the restaurant. However the food is tasty and inexpensive. We like to order the Lunch Special or if on the weekends/after 4 PM, we order the Family Special. The Kung Pao chicken and Seseme Chicken is good. Egg Drop Soup and Hot and Sour Soup is good. Noodle dishes are a bit soggy so don't order the Lo Mein. When we want to eat American Chinese Food on short notice, this is a good place to eat.

There food was disgusting they would no give me a refund at all they rice was burnt they chicken was not fully good I will not be returning to this restaurant in there were hair in my egg drop soup
