Lucky Bar & Gin School - Flavor your own Gin

A bar/distillery tasting room. Fits in well with the Bishop Arts neighborhood. We came on a Sunday, soon after opening, so we were the only ones there at first. However, it started to fill up after a bit of time. The bartender was very friendly and happy to answer questions. He also let me try the gin, neat. It was very approachable and good for people who don't like juniper-forward gin. However, if you're more of a gin purist, this may not be your kind of gin. Regardless, it's always nice to try new spirits. We just ordered a couple of drinks. We didn't do the class. But I can see the appeal of the class. The Sunday Happy Hour (HH) was nice, too. My friends partook in the HH, and I tried a drink not on HH, but sounded more interesting to me: 007. We even chatted with some other people at the bar, so it definitely gave off friendly bar vibes. If you are a person who likes trying new spirits and like friendly, social bars, you should check this place out.

We had a fantastic time this weekend at the gin class. Madison (the owner) was great and really walked us through things. The bartender (didn't get his name) was very friendly & personable. Great environment & great drinks, real fun place to have an amazing afternoon / evening.

Love how dog-friendly it is (they often host adoption events, too!), the different G&T options, and the great happy hour deals! The friendly, welcoming bartenders and the relaxed, but swanky atmosphere can't be beat. You can even make your own batch of gin 🤯

We came here to celebrate our friend’s birthday and Michael was not only inviting but went above and beyond. Friendly and knowledgeable and great service. He even played our favorite playlist for the ultimate vibes. Great drinks!

Hands down the most unique and exciting experience in the area! So funny bc I don’t even really care for Gin but Madison and her staff made it SO FUN to create these cocktails!! It is literally like nothing else! The ambiance, location, staff, vibes everything was on par! I felt like I was on vacation! I’m NEVER one to go out of my way to write a review either but this was SO warranted.

Michael is officially our favorite bartender! He took such good care of us and made sure our friend had a good birthday! He even played Rebelde for us! 🥲😂 10/10 recommend!

I had a disappointing experience with their "Gin school". The Groupon I purchased explicitly promised two complimentary gin & tonics, but the woman teaching the class claimed that it was incorrect and we would have to pay for all drinks. She said she would contact Groupon to remove that part, but a respectable business would honor what they had advertised. Even the class itself was lackluster and I barely learned anything about gin. After a short introduction to the available ingredients, we all gathered what we wanted in our custom blends, and then we just sat around being bored as we waited for our gins to distill. I was really excited about this class and expected it to be much more educational. As for the bar itself, the male barkeeper was very nice but the drinks were overpriced and they didn't even know that a Hugo has mint. Our gins turned out decent, hence the two stars, but other than that I don't recommend this class or this bar.

Solid situation! Out on a Sunday stroll looking to kill time as out of town guests waited to check into hotel. Came across this fire 🔥 establishment. Set up like a a lounge and beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations it is definitely a perfect place for chilling with friends, dates, or to pregame. The velvet plush loveseats facing the street which provide a great view for people watching pulled us in but the EXCELLENT service from Manny and the great tasting handcrafted, made in house Gin, drinks made us stay. I feel like we ordered everything on the menu and it was great -from the lavendar bee's knees, dirty martinis, to the coffee margarita! It really felt like it was an exclusive Gin tasting because it was not crowded and Manny was knowledgeable in his craft explaining all the drink ingredients. We only left because they ran out of gin. However the manager came in to make more. As a nontraditional gin drinker this place will convert you. The atmosphere is definitely a refreshing surprise for the Bishop Arts area. Laid back, enjoyable, and solid drinks. Bonus : Happy hour on Sunday! and darts available to play. Bathrooms clean and besutifully decorated. FYI there is not food but Manny recommended the taco truck across the street which was decent tasting. I definitely recommend and will return to Lucky's Bar!
