"Lucky Buns, a D.C. destination for juicy double patties and fried chicken sandwiches since 2017, opens its largest location yet at The Wharf with a 200-seat edition. This new venue offers an expanded menu with fun drinking snacks, homemade horchata ice cream, citrusy crushes, and slushy cocktails. It stays open until 1 a.m. during the week and 2 a.m. on weekends. The open kitchen serves dishes like "go-go fries" with half-smoke chili, deep-fried confit wings with South African spices, and crab-rangoon dip. The space features retro artwork, woven lanterns, and tiki glassware to reflect its waterfront locale. Lucky Buns continues to use locally sourced ingredients, including bread from Pops Buns and crabs from J.M. Clayton Company." - Tierney Plumb

Google
The location is great right at the Wharf. The ambiance is good with a patio and view of the water. I have come here a couple of times. The fries are really good and crispy with a nice house sauce. I tried their chick bun and it was good and juicy and the bun was great. The second time, I tried their fish taco and wasn't impressed. It was cold and not flavorful. May come again.

My friend and I went on a Saturday night. They were busy but were able to seat us. After a few moments of sitting we were asked to change tables, which wasn’t a huge deal. The server was nice and efficient. The burger was yummy and I appreciated that you could do add one with a surcharge. The fries were some of the best I had! Next time I want to try them with cheese or gravy. The drinks were also yummy and served in fun glasses

Google
Lucky Buns is a go to restaurant when you want a chicken sandwich or burger. The chicken sandwiches are chicken thighs spiced with African or Indian marinades. The Chicky bun was delicious and had tandoori spiced chicken with sauces, fresh pickles and cheese. The OG bun was a big burger with 2 patties, cheese, onions and pickles. The burgers are well cooked and flavorful. The thick cut fries are not included with the burger, but are recommended. There is nothing extraordinary special about the fries, but they are a good compliment to the sandwich. The vibe at the restaurant is tropical and weird, but it works. There are a couple video games in the back by the bathrooms if you end up waiting a little bit. The place gets busy on the weekends and at night. There is another location in Adams Morgan which is the original spot. You can eat outside or inside. If you eat outside, you can watch the boats in a covered area. There is a lot of foot traffic in the area but the Wharf is a fun place to be. I’ve eaten at Lucky Buns half a dozen times and will be back again!

Google
Honestly one of the best burgers we have ever had! My mother in law was over the moon!! Hubby got the hot tiger chicken sandwich and didn't say a peep until it was done 😅😅 the burgers and sandwiches are messy but packed full of flavor. You have to order fries separately, but honestly you could do without. The burgers are two thick patties with oodles of toppings and so filling! Definitely a must go.

Google
Food was amazing and great views of the river. Biggest negative, is that a group check can only be split 4 ways and “Happy Hour” special only occurs if you sit at the bar. Would definitely go back, especially when craving a burger.

Google
Delicious burger 🍔 at The Wharf DC. Love the atmosphere and the service was excellent. I came in Friday afternoon, it was quiet at the time and food came out right away. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. :)

We had a great experience with Jeff as our bartender. He was one of the best servers we have ever had! We enjoyed some college football and the burgers were delicious. The beer was crisp and all of the workers we met were awesome. Definitely recommend!

Google
We had a great time at the bar! The bartender, Jerónimo, made us an amazing cocktail—a passion fruit mojito—that was just what we needed. 🔥 The burger was incredible, absolutely delicious! I’ll be back!

Yelp
When walking down Washington DC's warf district, you will see a lot of top end restaurants. We were just craving a burger and didn't want to spend too much. When we walked in this restaurant, it was a casual vibe. We sat on the patio area so we can see the water as well as people watch. The table was very light as well as wobbly. I loved the plants used as borders. Our server was very attentive. The server next to us helped us out as well. I love seeing this. I feel that they focus on us the customer The hamburgers are rated as top 10, according to a sign. I have to agree. The meat was fresh and seasoned well Overall, go to this place

Yelp
I had mixed experiences at Lucky Buns at The Wharf. The food is solid, but the consistency can vary depending on when you visit. I initially went for dinner and had the Hot Tiger Bun, which was very good, but when I returned for lunch at a later date and tried the same dish in a bowl/salad form, it didn't quite hit the same mark.. The place can get pretty packed, especially on weekends and during brunch hours, which can add to the vibe, but can also make it a bit harder to fully enjoy your meal. The service is generally good, and the ambiance is fine--though I personally prefer the vibe and food quality at their Adams Morgan location. Overall, Lucky Buns at the Wharf is a decent choice, but for a more consistent experience, I'd recommend trying the Adams Morgan spot instead.

Yelp
We stopped in for lunch, and it was a nice stop. Definitely more of a summer place, but still had a nice view of the water. The service was good, very attentive. The menu was small, with probably 6 or 7 burgers to choose from, but that was enough. I got the Bogan burger and Cajun fries, both were really good and I would get again. The fries came with a vinegar sauce that I wasn't expecting, but was really good. Very chill and laid back. They also had Mexican coke which was a nice bonus. Definitely will come back when I'm in the area again!

Yelp
Quick stop for lunch at the wharf. Service was fast, waitress was friendly. Interior was cute for a sandwich place. The menu was very small, but had enough choices for lunch. We had The Cajun fries which were deliciously crispy and well seasoned although I wasn't a big fan of the sauce. Queso was creamy but bland. The burgers looked better than they taste. It was a little dry, lacked sauce and definitely more bun than patty.

Larissa J.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick, sanely priced meal after spending an evening walking around The Wharf. The interior of the restaurant is very cute! Service took quite a while, but everyone was friendly. I ordered the royale bun and fries, which were both delicious. Overall, a pleasant experience!

Yelp
Stumbled in here for a quick lunch before mini golf pop up. We sat at the bar. Inside was fun bright vibes with lots of greenery outside and on the outer walls. Nothing overly fancy, just simple. Their menu was small, but perfect for lunch. They had a number of burgers, chicken sandwiches, two salads and some sides. We ordered the following. Mumbo Nugs (7/10) - basically boneless wings, covered in Mumbo sauce topped with some herbs. If you like Mumbo sauce you will love them! I personally like bone in wings better than boneless, so that's why the deduction. Otherwise, very tasty! Green Goddess salad (6/10) - a basic salad with blackened chicken. This isn't a salad restaurant, so I understand why this wasn't a top tier salad but it flipped the bill. Not great, not bad. Bogan Burger (7/10) - fiancé said it was good, just very heavy. Flavors were good though! Cajun Fries (9/10) - loved the fries! Seasoned well and the side of malt vinegar mayo was an unexpected nice touch. Would come back for the fries alone.

Yelp
Excellent burgers and fries. Efficient friendly service. Nice decor and not too loud.

Yelp
Great food and beers on the wharf while in DC. The draft beers were out but the canned local options were great.

Yelp
What a great find We headed to the Wharf for our first visit with Lucky Buns in mind. It was a good thing we knew which end the restaurant was at because the Wharf is much larger than we expected. I encourage anyone to spend an evening at the Wharf, dining and walking along the water. As for our Lucky Buns visit, that went very well. A sign out front bragging about having one of best burgers in the area is well deserved. They offer variations, I went with their Bogan Bun. Stacked high, this is a messy eat. Messy and delicious. It had a little spiciness, I assume from the bacon XO jam, but it also came with a mysterious to me Lucky sauce. With 1/2 lb of meat, this was a filling sandwich. Service was fine, I don't recall anything out of the ordinary except that it took a little too long to get the check at the end of the meal.

Roxy H.

Yelp
Why don't fries come with these $18 burgers!? After one bite of my burger I knew why. The burger is freaking delicious and fresh that's why! Pricey but they get a pass. Came in for lunch on the Fourth of July. We ordered Cajun fries for the table. Super delicious. I had the Bogan Burger with that Bacon XO Jam which was so juicy, flavorful and huge! My daughter had the dirty bird and asked for the sauce on the side because it was spicy. The chicken sandwich itself also had a little heat to it so be careful. Overall we all liked our food and the adults enjoyed their cocktails. Good service. Expensive eats.

Yelp
Nice place on the wharf. In the perfect weather, I recommend sitting outside for the views but the do have a closed in porch. They are known for their beefy burgers but the toppings are the real winners. Service was fast and our waiter checked on us a lot even with a semi packed crowd. The bourbon peach was not my fave. Tasted like tea with splendid sugar. Not a lot of flavor. I think adding some pineapple to the drink would make it so much better. The burgers were juicy and made to liking. And those fries...woo thick cut..just how I like it . The Cajun option was great dipped in queso.

Patrick P.

Yelp
Met up with a friend for some lunch on a Saturday, appreciated the covered patio area so we could be outside but have some cover from the windy conditions. I got the Royale Bun because I am a fan of the film Pulp Fiction. The burger was delicious! The double smashed patties really hit the spot and wasn't too large to handle. I was originally a bit skeptical about a malt vinegar mayo that accompanied my fries but it ended giving a nice tang as a dipping sauce. The service was lighting fast and very attentive. Lucky buns will quickly become one of my main go-tos in the fast growing Wharf district.

Nadia M.

Yelp
I had a HORRIBLE experience here . The customer service was horrible. The food was served under room service temperature,no napkins after requested multiple times, food instructions were not followed and clear, food was mixed up. The server did not help .Food was burnt

Rob B.

Yelp
A nice choice at the Warf and a decent bar if you like to have a bar meal. The salad was beautiful but not the freshest and while wet didn't seemed dressed. The fries were great and too the wings. Burgers look the best.

Rachel B.

Yelp
We really enjoyed Lucky Buns! We were able to get in without a reservation for the patio seating. I enjoyed a grapefruit crush cocktail. We ordered the guacamole and the cheesy fries to split. We thought the apps were very tasty. We liked the guac more than the fries. I had a chicky bun, which was an awesome blend of tandoori flavor on a burger bun! Cool concept. I really like the aesthetic of this restaurant. The colorful lights and closed in patio are really nice!

Brent C.

Yelp
They deliver a perfectly elevated burger . The bun is fresh and delicious on its own. They cook the patties to perfection. The seasoning and flavors are wonderful. We'll worth the money and not being served with fries.

Amanda K.

Yelp
Came to Washington for my bday weekend and we had a late night the night before so when we woke up we decided to go down the wharf to find food. Found this place and they did not disappoint . We ate outdoors and it was the perfect temp. The wings and guacamole for sure were so delicious! I felt like they only had one server in the beginning which was when we got there and he had the iPad to take everyone's order so we didn't get refills as quick for drink but it's okay I'm sure it was an off day. The food made up for it.

Latesha J.

Yelp
I stopped by Lucky Buns by chance with a few friends one night after a conference at The Anthem. They were one of the only places open and even though they were close to closing, the customer service was phenomenal. The waiter was patient with our pretty large party and made great suggestions. The vibe in the restaurant made it feel like summertime. The decor was fun. I had the spicy mumbo wings and chips with guacamole to share with a few people as an appetizer. The wings were fried well and the guacamole had the perfect balance of spice and lime. I ordered the Tiger Bun which had a spicy sauce on it. In my opinion, it wasn't spicy but I eat spicy food regularly. Overall it was a great experience with great food and I would stop by again if in the area.

Linnea E.

Yelp
Super cool spot serving huge flavorful burgers at a pretty good price especially compared to some of the other menus we looked at in the area. I loved the decor, the service was impeccable, and all of it could have been awful and I wouldn't have cared because it was a damn good burger!

Maria B.

Yelp
Party of 3. When we arrived the restaurant was packed but we were welcomed and told there was a 15 minutes waiting time for food orders while we wait for a table, sat at the bar and ordered cocktails. The cocktails menu had an original selection of drinks, I ordered the hucaran, a very refreshing tequila drink pour over guava juice garnished with orange and fresh mint. For food I ordered the fried chicken burger aka DIRTY BIRD BUN and a side of thick French fries. Every bite was PHENOMENAL and savory, the siracha sauce had a quick of spice that complemented the shrettuce, white onion and pickles and as for the fries they were extraordinary and delicious. Everything about this restaurant experience was epic, the venue has a beach vibe decor, very comfortable sitting area for big groups and great food choices. The staff was great, the young lady who took care of us, was wonderful as well, and the host was very welcoming and hospitable too. This is a restaurant you want to revisit when you are at the Wharf!!! Ps. You can get your sandwich served with bread or salad. My bestie got the salad and I got the bun. Ps. Dessert menu available, delicious ice cream

Yelp
We popped in here after seeing an outdoor sign that claimed Lucky Buns had some of the best burgers in DC. It did not disappoint! That claim seems really well-founded. Just be advised that the burgers are VERY tall (thick double patties!), so you may need to request a single pattie or get really good and squishing your burger if you're not someone who likes them that huge. PROS: -Absolutely absolutely delicious hamburgers. Someone at our table doesn't eat beef, and they were just as impressed with their chicken burger too. We all agreed these are some of the best burgers we've had in a long, long time - and by far the best we've had in our limited experience of restaurants at DC. -Surprisingly not all that expensive either. I was expecting to pay a whole lot more in DC, but this was just slightly more expensive than a fast food burger joint - only way, way tastier. -Multiple types of fries. Love regular fries? They got 'em. Want cajun fries? Yep, that too. Fries covered in cheese? Yep. You pay for your fries separately, but the fries portion was good, and the fries themselves were tasty. If you and your tablemates want to be satiated without being super full, I'd say splitting an order of fries between two people is pretty satisfying with the large size of the burgers. -Food came out deliciously hot. We had to wait for all of it to cool - which is never a bad thing in the world of food service! -The decor in here is adorable too. The natural light makes it look so pretty partnered with the seafood-esque decorations. Bathrooms were clean. -Wide walkways and a variety (but limited number of) seating. There's bar seats, high top seats, and some booths+armless chairs. -Music was playing but not too loud. It was easy to have a conversation but we weren't easily overhearing other conversations in the establishment. CONS: -It may have been because it was a calm Monday afternoon, but we had multiple people waiting our table. Absolutely no problem in theory, but occasionally, server 1 would undo server 2's work. Like when we asked for a water carafe to be left at the table since we were going through so quickly, the next server would remove the carafe.

Jacqueline V.

Yelp
Great neighborhood music venue for a Thursday night, service at the bar was a bit slow, and why speed up when you have great music? too much for two people. Light cream sauce, Indian spiced chicken, not too soggy or salty. Flavorful. Music is loud, Management was very accommodating should things not go well. Great neighborhood place for Wednesday night music.

Taj M.

Yelp
Went there to take my veteran buddy out for lunch. It was our first time there we were all big fan of burgers in general. Overall the Food was good/average. The price point is decent however, you get a burger but no fries or drink. My wife is vegetarian would have charged four dollars for substituting an impossible burger. She ended up ordering the guacamole which is slightly cheaper than the over priced meat substitution. For $16. The Guacamole was not very good. My friend and I ended up getting two chicken burgers which we liked. The ingredients appeared to be high-quality. The burger buns were probably the best part the chicken was cooked flawlessly. However, my burger lacked a lot of flavor. The best part of the meal were the spicy fries one portion is more than enough for three people to share. Service was poor. we ended up having to grab a pitcher and refill our own waters Because our server rarely checked up on us. They have happy hour specials during the weekdays. but nothing super spectacular where you go out of your way to go there. But a lot of places at the wharf do not have happy hour at all so this place would be good to go. We were able to walk in and get a seat. No reservations needed. Both indoor and outdoor dining were available.

Nichole C.

Yelp
This place was, just WOW! First time at the Wharf so i thought I wanted seafood, then decided to change it up to here instead, *snap, snap* YES. The drinks were on point, I had the margarita with spicy salt and the burgers *chefs kiss* (OG Bun pictured). The fries are delicious, hearty and perfectly cooked. Def recommend the Cajun fries!! What I loved most though was the teamwork style service. The whole team was running, filling water, delivering food, checking in, and playing hostess to seat others; the place ran SMOOTH! Oh and my 4-year old smashed his cheeseburger and "fluffy" bun.

Kent D.

Yelp
Lucky Buns is perfectly located in the recently developed Wharf area. I was hesitant to visit because the food menu was pretty basic to me. However, I visited and I was pleasantly surprised. The burger and the chicken sandwich were pretty good and not expensive at all. One of the better burgers that I had in the area since I arrived. The service was a bit shaky, but okay, and the decor was a bit blah. But, beyond that, it was a cool spot. I'll be back when I'm looking for a good burger for fair price.

Andrew P.

Yelp
It was not quite peak time, so there were plenty of tables to choose from when my friend and I showed up. We decided on outdoors since it felt like a close-to-summer day. Sitting outside never fails to elevate an experience for me, especially when there's lovely water to view! As my friend and I were chatting and catching up, I realized no one had been by in like 5 minutes. But by the time we realized this, the gentleman who seated us came, and apologized for the delay -- something was going on inside. From this moment on, he checked on us quite regularly, so all good!! I had been to the Lucky Buns in Adams Morgan once, so this was my first time at this location. I recalled having the Hot Tiger bun, so I wanted to make sure to try something new. I went with the Chicky bun. Aside from being extra chewy on a few bites, I thought it was wonderful! And you know what went really well with it? The curry gravy fries. Those things... whew!!! Forget chili fries, that's my new favorite smothered fry option!! They were sooo delicious! Food aside, I ran to the bathroom once... and was delighted to see a few arcade machines inside. It wasn't super spacious where they were, but there was some cool decor going too! The place is definitely a vibe and I'd return!

Cassandra S.

Yelp
I can't believe it took me so long to try this place! Came on a Friday night around 8:30 and was able to get seated immediately. I got the OG Bun with bacon jam and it was delicious, but super messy--had to fork and knife it after a few attempts. Well worth it though! I can't wait to come back.

Carlos M.

Yelp
I was starving after my flight and knew I wanted to kick off my vacation with something good. I was close by, opened yelp, saw this spot and the pictures of their fried chicken sandwiches caught my attention. I chose to give them a shot despite their 3.5 rating and I'm glad I did. The restaurant is very nice, indoor and outdoor seating are available. Service was awesome. Our waitress was so friendly, knowledgeable and made some great recommendations. The food was solid. I tried - Dirty bird - Fried chicken, shark sriracha hot sauce, shredded lettuce, white onion and pickles and I added gouda. This was very good and tasty. I didn't think it was very spicy. I love that the chicken was halal. 4.5/5 ($14 for sandwich and a $2 up-charge for the cheese) Braai spiced fries - Packed with spices and flavor. These were great but I feel they should have came with the meal. 4/5 ($9) I also tried a bite out of my aunts hot tiger bun sandwich which was very good but a bit spicy for me personally. She loved hers. I really enjoyed myself here. I'm deducting a point because I feel the sandwiches should come with a side included for the hefty price tag. Either way, I would definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

Deborah W.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for a late lunch around 3:00 PM. There was a bit of a wait so they added us to a wait list. We ended up waiting around 20 minutes which was shorter than their estimated 30 minute time. We were taken to an outside table as we had previously requested and given menus. As the previous reviews have discussed, waiting for service took a very long time. We were sitting around and didn't end up getting any water or anyone to come over until a lady sitting to a table next to us flagged down a server for a water and we ended up asking her for help as well. That server ended up taking care of us for the rest of the meal. For food we decided to split an order of fries and an El Jefe Bun. The food also took a bit of time to get out to us. The fries were steak cut and just out of the fryer when we got it. They were really yummy and also came with a side of ranch which was great as well. The El Jefe Bun though was a bit disappointing. The burger itself was cooked well and juicy. However, even though there seemed to be lots of additional components, all I ended up tasting was an overwhelming amount of what tasted like mustard with some melted cheese in between. All in all, a nice restaurant with potential but with some kinks that need to be worked out.

Lupe M.

Yelp
Wasn't planning on stopping by here but after seeing the long line, I had to give it a try. Even with the long line I was seated quickly. I sat at the bar and was handed a menu. Few minutes later the bartender which comes by and says "so what do you want" and this was not in a friendly way. She gave the impression she didn't want to be there. I understand people have bad days. I kept my order simple original burger and original fries. The food came out pretty quick. From the bar area you can see into the kitchen. The line cooks were nonstop hustling. The burger was way bigger than I was expecting. That first bite was challenging. The meat could have used more seasoning. The pickles were fresh and had a nice crunch to them. Overall it was decent. The fries were served fresh and hot. I prefer my fries to be cooked more on the crunching side, these had a softer texture to them. Also they came with a side of mayo! First time I've seen that, must be a east coast thing.

Jadaa P.

Yelp
The service was great. Chicken was delicious! Oh, and the vibes were immaculate. Great music choice :)

Nicole L.

Yelp
Food: (Bogan Burger) Great taste, Not that hot! Burger was juicyyy! Fries: Ugh Fat five guys fries! Not a Fan At least serve them hot! Oh, not to mention I ordered a side of curry gravy for fries, Let's just say generic gravy with some curry seasoning, left a lot to be desired!! Drinks: Frozen Punch ....Just okay nothing to write home about Not horrible but my expectations were high! Definitely not what I expected! Sorry not sorry! Five guys is more affordable and worthwhile!! Service: Mikalah was very pleasant and knowledgeable! She was great and attentive! Service was great! Food was mediocre

Alexandra H.

Yelp
Very solid burger. Great place to come and enjoy a classic burger and fries. Both burgers were cooked perfectly and pair perfectly with the light sesame bun. Also they get bonus points for including pickles. And any place that has thick cut fries gets an extra star in my book! The rose was a little sweet but still light enough to enjoy. The cocktails look very tasty although we didn't get any, this time! We definitely made note for our next visit.

Samuel D.

Yelp
Lucky Buns is a place I'll have to return to and keep trying, to get a full experience of their menu! I tried the Dirty Bird burgers and the fries, they where packed with flavor and has me excited to go back and try their spicy items! Despite how busy the place was the service was amazing, and the waiters/waitresses got to me at a great timely fashion. For also being packed and music playing you could hear yourself talk and have conversations without feeling like you're shouting and screaming to be heard! If you're by the wharf and need a great place to try some Thai fusion food this would be the spot

Kay L.

Yelp
We came here for a nightcap after having dinner at another restaurant close by. I ordered a cocktail, and my husband ordered a beer. The bartenders were attentive and fast. The bar is very fun and relaxed. Overall, a great place to come to grab a drink if you're at the Wharf. We didn't eat here, but the burgers and fries looked deliciously decadent as well.

Chris C.

Yelp
Have been wanting to try Lucky Buns for a while now - we have one sort of in our neighborhood which we have passed by occasionally but today happened to end up on the Wharf and to our delight discovered there is one there too. Like many newer Wharf restaurants it's got a good size airy space with indoor and outdoor seating - indoor has a long bar facing the front which has glass partitions that can slide fully open, and outdoor an attractive covered patio so even when it's sunny the light and heat is diffused by the semi clear roof cover (the restaurant and wharf is west facing). On a Sunday afternoon around 3 we were lucky to get the last table on the patio. Menu is pretty simple, you pretty much will need to like burgers (or chicken) to eat here. Tried the burger, breakfast burrito and a half order of fat Cajun fries. Everything was delicious especially the sauces that came with the burrito and the half order of fries enough for two to share. Service was good. Check came in the form of a summary on a credit card machine. Nice place with a delightful environment and it's one of the less pricy places on the Wharf.

Thao L.

Yelp
One of the best burger places I've been to since moving to Maryland. The customer service was fast and welcoming. Our waiter was extremely accommodating and helpful since they ran out of an ingredient for the drink I wanted. The burgers were delicious and the portion was bigger than what I had expected. Both of our burger felt like it was more or less a pound to a pound and a half. The booths were comfortable and the restaurant was clean. Would highly recommend if you come to The Wharf.

Steph W.

Yelp
Visiting from Boston, what a neat place. I wish I had taken photos of the inside. I love their appreciation for plants down here. The host was friendly and accommodating and the waitress was very personable and helpful. She gave us great tourist recommendations. The food didn't miss neither. The Mumbo Bun chicken sandwich was phenomenal. The chicken is perfectly seasoned and crispy. All of the flavors work and has a decent kick to it. Pro tip: it's served as two fried chicken thigh pieces which makes it very tall. I removed the chicken, cut the bun and contents next, then put one piece on each half. The burger was great too, the bacon jam was a great addition. The toppings all work. The braai spiced fries were flavored nicely. Definitely thick cut, I only wished they were cooked a little crisper. If I lived down here I would come back to this place frequently!

Michelle B.

Yelp
Sun August 4 Rebecca was our server she was so nice and courteous I wanted to send a special shout out to her. Now the Food my son said the chicken and waffles was the best he's had, whenever he sees it on the menu he orders it. I really enjoyed the fries with the Mayo vinegar sauce. The burger was delicious overall it was a nice experience I'm glad we came I was in the mood for a burger and it was very satisfying.

Yelp
Saturday Play Date at the Wharf?... Lucky Buns is just the spot. Here's the deal Lucky Buns keeps the menu simple handmade burgers, chicken sandwiches including some with DC inspired names and thick-cut fries. The separate beverage menu features both handcrafted and pre-made cocktails. All the burgers can be modified to accommodate a vegan/vegetarian diet with Impossible Burger. At the Wharf, parking can be a nightmare. Consider starting your "play date" at the Tidal Basin. Parking is much cheaper and you can visit the Jefferson Memorial before walking to the Wharf to grab a bite to eat.

Yelp
Service: If the service were on the menu it would be called the No Bueno Bun. I went during a slow time on a Sunday evening; there were about ten people behind the counter shooting the breeze. Took ten minutes for me to get someone's attention so I could place my order. Food: The Curry Gravy Fries are exceptionally delicious-the gravy is bursting with flavor and the fries are great on their own. The El Jefe Bun was also nut bueno. No complaints about the food; it was ten times better than the service. The black woman bartender was the only one customer-service oriented employee behind the counter. Also, cross check the menu and the bill. Not a big deal but the Roselle Juice is $6 on the menu but $8 on the ticket. Ambience: Fun, casual bar environment.

Yelp
Second time here, the food is always really good, cooked well. Best quac in the city in my opinion. Our waiter Mac was a delight. Will be coming back often!

Yelp
UPDATE. Apparently the gesture of voiding the charges for drinks and food i did not actually consume was just that - a gesture. My card was charged the full amount.

Yelp
El jefe burger was tasty, tho not as tasty as what i remember of the Union Market location.. the toppings didnt stand out as much and no cotija cheese. Had a painkiller while i waited that was good. Pretty empty during my visit but staff were friendly, courteous and accommodating.

Yelp
Lucky buns was a fun experience. Unique but comforting classic menu. I wanted to try everything but I went with the dirty bird with the sauces on the side so I could experience the true flavors. The lucky sauce was amazing, I tried the curry gravy with the fries but only get it if you actually like curry...it tastes like it sounds. Cocktail options and drinks weren't my favorite, but I'm a little less adventurous there I suppose. My server was nice but poor thing she was seating people, bartending, serving and cleaning. Would love to try again. Very cute decor/interior, a vibe.

Yelp
We went here to have a quick dinner tonight. We walked in asking specifically about an allergy that one person in our group (10) had. the hostess assured us that they would be able to accommodate. we sat down our waitress had to take our order three times for drinks, then proceeded to laugh at the person our group for her allergy. It was the most disrespectful thing I have seen from a server. on top of that I talk to you so-called owner, at which point all he did was say it was out of character for the waitress and did not try to make us feel better in any way shape form. I would 0% recommend this restaurant for anybody going to the wharf.

Yelp
Excellent burger. I had Bogan bun added fried jalapeño. The fries and sauce are tasty. And the Warf are is great for all ages, except the smell Of pot. So skunky snd gross. It's so bad, and rude.

Yelp
The burger restaurant ran out of beef. Our server forgot our drinks. They did comp our drinks at least. Our waiter took forever to bring our check. The food was fine but it did not make up for the rest of the issues.

Yelp
Walked into this restaurant because we saw the reviews and pictures. Everything looked good online, but I guess you can't always judge a book by its cover. We went in for lunch today (~1pm), restaurant was empty. The service sucked. Took us about 30 mins before the server came to take our order. Currently waiting another 30 minutes for our check to pay. We got the OG Bun and that was good. The Dirty Bird was such a disappointment. There was the least amount of sauce, it was dry. I had to drench the whole sandwich in ketchup in order to get flavor, since it was flavorless. The chicken should not be that dry especially because they used chicken thighs instead of chicken breasts. The fries and mayo/vinegar malt was good. Probably the only good thing about this place was the fries. Will not be returning and do not recommend unless you want the fries and sauce. I do have to say, the ambience was nice.
