"For fans of authentic dim sum, Lucky Cat Dim Sum in the Mandarin neighborhood is a must-visit. As the sister establishment to Timwah Dim Sum, it specializes in handmade dumplings, steamed buns, and various hot plates. The menu offers a range of options, including traditional pork shu mai, spicy chili oil-topped pork wontons, and pork and chive dumplings. For those with a sweet tooth, the taro-filled lucky cat buns, shaped like adorable kittens, and the baked pineapple buns are delightful ways to conclude the meal." - Megan duBois

Google
Easily one of the best dim sum restaurants in Jacksonville FL 🥟 The food selection was very tasty and plenty of options to choose from. My ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ dishes: Fried Shrimp Ball, Classic Pork Shumai, Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Taro Lucky Cat Bun, Dark Chocolate Panda Bun, Shrimp dumpling hagao. We also ordered the Lychee black tea 🫖 (so good) Some items are only available on weekends! There is also indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking.

Owner is very accommodating and friendly that reflects on his staffs. Great food too freshly cooked and portions are just right. A little bit crowded but it’s alright. We can still talk and hear each other. Price is not bad. I recommend this place.

Google
We went to this restaurant for Father’s Day. None of my family members wanted to go because we’ve always been disappointed with Chinese restaurants in Jacksonville. But this place completely changed that! Everything was so delicious! The food was fresh, flavorful, and the staff was incredibly kind. Just look at the photo! The food was gone before I even remembered to take a picture! We’ll definitely be back!

Google
We ordered a lot of the menu to try. The fried garlic chicken bites were really tasty. The steamed rice with spam was okay. The cheese burger shumai tasted like cheese burger but was a bit dry and tough. I do recommend trying for a different flair of dim sum.

Google
I frequent this place as much as I frequent my own dinner table. I’ve taken family and friends here whenever we’re in the mood for delicious authentic dim sum. Service is attentive (even when busy), food is always hot and dumpling are always banging 🔥

Google
This is my go-to place for dimsums and ofcourse, my family decided to dine here on Mother’s Day. My daughter raves about this restaurant and says it’s her favorite. The cat and piggy buns are always a hit but they’re venturing out and trying shumai and other dimsums as well. The staff are very nice and the bathroom is always clean. 10/10 will recommend!

Google
Lucky Cat is a fantastic spot for dim sum lovers! The environment is warm and inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal with friends or family. The customer service is excellent—friendly and attentive staff who make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Now, let’s talk about the food—the dim sum is absolutely amazing! Every bite is packed with flavor, perfectly crafted, and served fresh. Whether you're a fan of dumplings, bao, or other dim sum classics, you won’t be disappointed. One thing you must try before leaving is their Tea Lemonade. It’s a refreshing, flavorful drink that perfectly complements the meal. Overall, Lucky Cat is a must-visit for anyone who loves dim sum and great service. Highly recommended!

Google
Really enjoyed this hole in the wall dim sum place. Let me start by saying this is NOT traditional dim sum. Definitely westernized and fusion, but it was still good! Quality was all fresh and tasted yummy!

Yelp
Went here on Saturday evening since I am craving for a good Dimsum. We got here aroung 6:30pm and there was a wait outside, I was a little nervous since I was hungry but we did not wait for a long time (less than 15 minutes). we got inside got seated at the very back and they did an amazing job on decorating the restaurant, i love the dim sum containers on the wall, it's so cute! when you order, you order on the piece of paper, and check all the boxes of the food that you want to order. we ordered the shrimp fried rice, pineapple bun, shrimp siomai, original siomai, iced coffee, shrimp and spinach dumplings and everything was good! Service was a little slower but I will not take away a star from that because there was only 2 servers working and they did a phenomenal job handling the crowd. I will definitely be back here to try different food!

Yelp
Loved the food and quick service. I also found my new favorite dish. The chili oil pork wotons were amazing and we ended up using the sauce on many of our other steamed dumplings. We also loved the cabbage and chicken pan fried dumplings- the flavor was perfection with notes of ginger and garlic. The fried shrimp balls were a tasty crispy treat. We also enjoyed the soup dumplings just wanted more broth but the flavor was great and very filling. And those pineapple buns were delicious with cream filling plus actual pineapple chunk which many other dim sum places don't offer. Excellent way to finish the meal.

Yelp
As a Jax native, I've had my fair share of visits to this strip mall throughout my childhood. It used to house one of the last Jax Blockbusters and the dying Food Lion grocery store. When I learned this restaurant was tucked away in the same strip, I felt a wave of nostalgia mixed with skepticism about its quality. My brother and I went anyway, and we were super surprised by how packed this tiny place was! Despite the crowd, we were immediately greeted by two young men who cleaned off a table as soon as one became available. The menu was a paper checklist, and we marked our choices with a pencil (like a sushi menu but for the whole of offerings). I tend to avoid sodas because I find soda guns unclean and fountain sodas prone to bacteria, but they offered canned soda, so I got a little treat and it was refreshing to have the option. The whole restaurant was being run by just the two young employees, who couldn't have been older than 18. There was a whole bunch of cooks in the back, barely covered by a curtain, but they never left the back. The two handled everything from serving to bussing and hosting, and they did a great job! Because of the heavy foot traffic and the small staff, there were moments when we felt a bit neglected, but we obviously were understanding. And, whenever they did attend to us, they were super polite and helpful! SO no complaints! The food is made fresh, so we waited about 30-45 minutes after placing our order, but it was well worth the wait. We had come specifically for the cute buns, and they were amaze-balls! They were much sweeter than other taro and red bean buns I've tried, but still soooo delicious. I'd recommend getting multiple savory items along with the buns, as the sweetness can be a bit overwhelming. My brother ordered a bowl of fried rice and pork dumplings (not pictured), which he said were to die for. All in all, our meal cost us about $20, which included 4 buns, 4 shrimp dumplings, 4 pork dumplings, and a HUGE bowl of fried rice! In today's economy? YES PLEASE! This small, clearly popular restaurant offers fresh food, great service, and a cozy setting that's sure to impress! 10/10 would recommend and so excited to go back!! :)

Yelp
What a cute little place in the heart of Mandarin! First impression, I loved the decor and ambiance of the restaurant. The staff were really welcoming and we were greeted promptly. I had never had dim sum before so we shared a few different dishes. The Lucky Cat taro bun was delicious! It was sweet and soft and super adorable! I did burn the roof of my mouth on it so be careful! We also shared pork shumai, steamed baby bok choy and shrimp fried noodles- all delicious! For dessert we had the sesame balls which were so good! I want to come back and try some more.

Sharon M.

Yelp
Lucky Cat fulfilled my dim sum cravings. Unlike a few other reviews, service was very quick during our visit! We also dined midweek so that may have been a factor. Favs: Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings (recommend!), Chicken & Cabbage Dumplings, BBQ Pork Buns, Chicken Shu Mai, Sesame Balls. I wanted to try the Kimchi Shrimp Dumplings but apparently I missed the note on the menu that those are only available Sat & Sunday. I'll be back on the appropriate day. :) Eggplant & Shrimp was ok. I agree with another review that it might have been missing salt but I dipped in the sweet soy sauce and all was good. Like most of my dimsum visits, my eyes are bigger than my stomach so we have some leftovers to polish off that I'm looking forward to: Mango Mochi, Taro Lucky Cat Buns, Egg Custard Tarts. However, my mini Yelper tried a bite of all of these & gave her thumbs up. She wasn't a big fan of dim sum prior to this visit but I think Lucku Cat may have changed her opinion! She really loved the Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings & even commented on the ambiance too. Simple but nice decor with plants sprinkled throughout. The menu was just missing one of my all time fav dim sum items: shrimp rice noodle rolls. Maybe we'll see that in the future? Everyone was very welcome, attentive & friendly checking on our table and refilling drinks. Will definitely be back to try more items on the menu.

Yelp
We ate dinner here Thursday night. Service was quick, we ordered way too much food. They have the steamed pork bun which is normally my favorite but they also had a fried pork bun, and it was a little sweet and savory, really liked it. Loved the spicy cucumbers! I dipped the shu Mai into the cucumber sauce. It was great for a date night.

Courtney K.

Yelp
We've been twice when craving Dim Sum -- not something that's easy to find here in JAX. Lucky Cat is a pretty solid choice, but I wish there was more dim sum to their menu (aside from limited choices, it is very shrimp heavy). The service has always been great, friendly and prompt. The place is clean and well decorated. Make sure you get the chili oil!

Tiffany L.

Yelp
Overall great service and good food. My favorite dish was the shrimp and chive dumplings, so I definitely recommend giving that a try if you come here!

Jen C.

Yelp
Pretty good selection of dim sum. Came out relatively quickly and was tasty. The short ribs weren't that great (was kind of oily and fatty) but liked the others. The sweeter dim sum was on point! Especially the red bean bun and pineapple bun!

Tatty C.

Yelp
Not to busy during the weekday lunch time. Loved the staff. They were so friendly and helpful. So much food. I left stuffed.

Didi N.

Yelp
I love dim sum and when I heard Lucky Cat opened, I was so excited. It's a nice, cozy, and cute restaurant. We went before the lunch rush and I'm so glad we did because it got busy as soon as we left. The waitress was really sweet, attentive, friendly, and helpful. Our food came out fresh as it is fresh to order. Not the dim sum places where they push around the carts. I don't mind waiting on fresh food as I know sometimes, the items on those carts are sitting there for quite a bit of time. You are given a slip of dim sum items (meats, desserts, pastries, buns, seafood, kitchen items, veggies, etc.) to order from and once you are done, you give it to the waitress and wait on your food to come out. We got the following: Chicken Karaage - 9.5/10: holy cow was this delicious. The chicken was fried to perfection and I love the seasoning they used on it. It was salty, seasoned, and the right amount of crispiness. I loved the bits of fried garlic that was added to the dish and my husband and I finished the entire plate! It was $12 (kitchen order) but it was worth it! The portion size was a good, big size as well. The chicken was also so juicy and was not overcooked. Chive and shrimp dumplings - 8/10: this was delicious! It was pan fried and when I bit into it, I saw all the juices dripping. Which is a good sign. Tip: ask for chili oil and mix it with soy sauce to dip your dumplings in. It provides another depth of flavor with the dumplings or shumai. The dumplings were filled and plump and I loved the flavors. Chili garlic tripe: 5.5/10: this was okay but kind of bland. Tripe is very bland to begin with and I eat it for the texture, but you definitely need to season the heck out of it to make it enjoyable. All I could taste was oil and it became very oily and greasy after the 2nd bite. But I finished it because I don't like wasting food and my husband hates tripe haha. Eggplant stuffed with shrimp - 5/10: wasn't a fan of this as it was extremely oily to me and not much flavor. I couldn't taste the shrimp at all. Definitely lacking some salt. However, my husband gives it a 8/10 so it depends on the person. Soup dumplings: 8/10 - this was pretty good. Tip is to bite off the top of the dumpling skin to help it cool off and put it in the chili oil/soy sauce sauce for a few minutes for it to soak up all the goodness and then eat it all in one piece. The dumplings were filled with soup and popped when I took a bite, which was enjoyable to me. I would get this again. Pineapple buns: 7.5/10 - The buns were warm, filled with pineapple custard, and flaky on top. It wasn't sweet and it was so good that I had two of them haha. You get three in an order. Black pepper steamed short ribs: 8/10 - I enjoyed this every much. I usually get bbq short ribs or grilled short ribs so I wanted to try a steamed version of ribs and this did not disappoint. Very seasoned, steamed until it was tender, and it just fell off the bone when I picked it up with my chopsticks. Overall, a good place to try for dim sum. Is it the best? No but worth trying. I've been to other two dim sum places here in Jax and this one would probably be in the top two tier for me. All the food we ordered came out to like $49 dollars so it was a good amount of food for the price. `

Yelp
Stopped by here after church and place was semi-full at 1:30 pm. I think they were closing for lunch in an hour. While we were ordering the place was still getting customers and actually grew. We ordered plenty of different items - fried, steamed and sauted. All were very good, hot and fresh. We ordered an extra side of rice to complement all the entrees. Servers were attentive and gave us updates on our orders.

Alisa J.

Yelp
Super solid dim sum and great service. Pros - the char siu in the bao was excellent quality, the turnip cakes were really good, the crème brûlée tarts were delish, fragrant jasmine tea Cons (and these are minor - we really enjoyed our meal) - I missed my favorite stuffed taro, a couple of things were a touch greasier than I'm used to, I'd love to see some gai lan on menu instead of or in addition to bok Choi. Surprise- actual pineapple in the pineapple buns, the fried pork dumplings almost tasted like funnel cake on the outside. Food came quickly, all servers were helpful, and perfect chili oil to complement all the goodies. We will be back! All

Yelp
I absolutely loved my 1st but definitely not my last experience at Lucky Cat. We arrive late during the midweek and were seated right away by a friendly young man. This isn't a big place so I imagine on the weekends there might be a long wait. He gave us a menu and a checklist. I wish he would've explained the system but once we figured it out we were all good. Lucky cat provides you with pictures and a description on one menu and then an order checklist list. If you need a pen, they provide them on the table. We didn't realize that until we were looking all over for a pen so take note. OK so now we figured it all out. A friend and I chose mostly chicken and a shrimp item because we do not eat pork or red meat. However they do have plenty of pork and red meat options. Every single thing we ordered was new to us ( except the chicken fried rice) and we loved it! The taro Lucky cat buns were stuffed with a lightly sweet type potato. The chicken soup dumpling were really good as was the shrimp dumplings. It's good to go there as a twosome because you can share as most orders are 4 dumplings ( except the soup). The fried chicken & cabbage dumplings were also excellent. We used the soy sauce and the Tabasco sriracha sauce on them. The most interesting was the mango mochi it was served room temperature and was stuffed with sweet mango & covered with coconut. A must if you're a mango lover. I highly recommend Lucky Cat whether you're new to the dumpling world or it's your go to. I'd give this place 10 stars if I could.

Yelp
Had the time to check out this place on Sunday morning 04/14. Got there just after they open to beat the lunch rush. Was greeted and grab a table and handed a picture menu with what they had. Filled out the order form and waited for my food. staff were very attentive and provide condiments and followed up to make sure everything was good. spicy cucumber salad - crispy and refreshing pork and chive dumplings and pork shumai - juicy and stuffed full with meat shrimp haogao - steamed perfectly and shrimp was tasty steam pork buns - pork filling was balanced sweet/savory cheeseburger shumai - it tasted like a cheeseburger and was very rich. use the cucumber salad to cut the fattiness if I lived on that side of town this would be my go to spot so if your in the area you should check it out thatackwarddudereviewingfood

Yelp
We went on a Friday around 6. Service was good. Steamed bok choy. Wow! The shrimp dumplings were wonderful also. Unfortunately they were out of the Everything bun with cream cheese. We had the BBQ pork bun - was good, but nothing special. For dessert we had the mango mochi. It was very interesting - it was also good, but somehow I expected more of a mango taste. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
First time trying last night. We drove all the way from northside, to mandarin just for this exact spot. Couldn't wait to eat here for dinner! What really sparked the interest to come was seeing their delicious chicken posts on instagram from their social media pages. Lucky cat informed us that the "chicken 88" was not available in drumstick/wing form, but that they could make it for us nugget style. We were so pleased they could accommodate for the main item we drove out to try - the chicken 88. That made our night! We got pork fried rice and noodles with pork as a side to go with our chicken, very delicious as well! We tried a couple dim sum items seen here in the photos. I'm amazed at the "dessert ish" dim sum items! They were incredibly fresh, light, not super sugary at all - just how we like it! Don't sleep on the dim sum items that read kindive like it could be an appetizer or a dessert. These are so underrated but please try if you are interested. I'm excited to try more of these on the next visit. The only dim sum item we weren't a fan of were the cute piggies. Still very cute, but not our favorite. We aren't normally the type to say anything or complain, so we ate them and just kept going with the flow. Everything else was delicious so we didn't feel the need to say anything about the one small item we ate but did not love. We will happily be back to try more. Will drive 30 mins Just for for the chicken here alone. The other items were a bonus. Cute, quaint place with good price points for all items. Happy to see this place thrive on a Saturday night when we visited.

Yelp
Checking out was a bit slow but the food was very good . Service was good as well. Casual ambiance inside .

Katherine C.

Yelp
*Soft Opening Today at the Lucky Cat* They just opened so be patient with the awesome staff working on getting the orders, as service is a bit slow and there was a bit of a wait. The ambiance is good as people are looking forward trying their meals. The AC is definitely breathing hard as it so hot outside. Ordered 2 Shrimp Dumpling, 3 Shumai Dumplings, Fried Rice with Seafood. It was alright. Also got the Red Bean Mochi and something really new- the Guava and Cheese French Toast, it was really delicious and even took it to go. It was a good experience overall oh and it was International Cat Day by the way so we kind of felt lucky trying the place for their 1st Day.

Annie R.

Yelp
What an amazing meal we had at Lucky Cat Dim Sum! Not only was the food delicious, but the staff and beautiful decor were fantastic! We plan to be Regulars there! The Chefs take pride in their menu items, and it shows! Highly recommend you give it a try!!

Tee N.

Yelp
Chanel and Louis Vuitton better watch out, I have a new obsession, and this cool cat name is Lucky Cat! I may have gone a little overboard and ordered pretty much everything on the menu to the dismay of my family. The fried shrimp balls, dumplings and buns are SO JUICY and flavorful. The rice! Get the rice and the noodles. Omggg im drooling on my phone. Fan did not skimp on the meats. It was an explosion of sweet, savory and salty goodness. I swear my '24 hot girl summer plan is now a hot girl suffering plan because I'll be spending all my money at Lucky Cat. Service was great! Food was quick, water and tea was never half empty and finished plates quickly cleaned. Decor was calm and family-esque. Like... everyone was eating like they're a whole big family.

Ty C.

Yelp
Great dim-sun place here! I just came back from convoy San Diego and I have to tell you the dim sum here is stellar! We were impressed quality ingredients , hot and steamy, great staff , great dim sum , what more can you ask for ! What a jewel for the neighborhood , hands down best dim sum in the greater Jacksonville area , even better than our big dim sum places in Arizona and San Diego , of course they don't have the selection of the large dim sum houses but I'll take quality of selection and day ! A+++++++++++

Christian K.

Yelp
My experience at Lucky Cat Dim Sum was highlighted by the delicious freshly made dim sum, especially the shrimp shumai and chive and shrimp dumplings. The quiet ambiance and enjoyable hot tea added to the serene atmosphere, fitting for the type of restaurant it is. The food came in a decent amount of time, I would say the service was great. I found the traditional dim sum dishes satisfying, though some, like the Cheeseburger Shumai and Guava and Cheese French Toast Dumpling, seemed too unconventional. There was a small issue with a flag or curtain blocking the kitchen, suggesting room for improvement in the kitchen's entrance. It was a positive experience with standout dishes and a peaceful setting.

Amy H.

Yelp
Really enjoyed Lucky Cat Dim Sum! Service was really good and the food was so fresh & delicious! Will definitely come back to try more things next time I'm in town.

Gloria T.

Yelp
This is our first time trying this place. It's so adorable in here, service is great and food is so so good! So glad we found this place! We will be coming back a lot.

Raynelle S.

Yelp
Went here for Sunday lunch and truly enjoyed it! We had pork shumai, shrimp shumai, chili wontons, salt and pepper chicken wings, taro steamed buns, custard egg tarts, eggplant shrimp dumplings, and deep fried pork dumplings. Everything was delicious! They had so many choices so will definitely come back to try their other items. The place was nicely decorated and the staff was friendly .

Amanda R.

Yelp
I love this place, the food is always really good. We've gone multiple times and depending on the busyness, the service can be slow. The food is always consistent and very yummy. I highly recommend the cheeseburger shumai, the everything bun and the chili oil wontons. My only thing keeping me from giving five stars was the service from the waiters. The girl and then the guy with curly hair are very nice, attentive and try their best to check in with you despite running around trying to get everything done. We ordered panda chocolate buns to go, we waited thirty minutes for this. Not because of the kitchen but because The other one guy waiter with black hair refused to check in with the kitchen about them despite the girl waiter and us asking him multiple times about them. He kept forgetting about them and then kept asking us if we were okay and trying to push us out the door to empty the table despite us still waiting for this last item that we had ordered and paid for already. We knew this wait was due to him and not anyone else because once we asked the curly haired guy about it, he went and got them immediately. Very very frustrating. The food is always so good and we love to support local places like this so we still plan to come back and not let that ruin it.

Dave G.

Yelp
We highly recommend lucky cat if you enjoy dim sum Every time we've been here, the quality of food is outstanding service can't be beat. We would highly recommend lucky cat dim sum

Helaine R.

Yelp
Our first time trying Lucky Cat and we loved it. We were seated promptly and wrote our order on the paper. Once the order is placed, things come out when they are ready. It is much better than receiving everything at once. I am originally from DC metro area and am used to some outstanding dimsum. Some standouts today were the pork and chive dumplings, the shrimp dumplings and the pineapple buns. I will be dreaming about them before my next visit. The Lucky Cat and Piggie buns were so cute and very tasty. The turnip cakes were good. I prefer them crispier but that is a personal preference. The steamed pork buns were okay but I would probably order more dumplings next time. Restaurant is cozy and on the small side. Staff was friendly and helpful, everything you would want them to be. I would love to see some roast pork buns added to the menu and some hoisin sauce. I highly recommend!!!

LoriLynn R.

Yelp
Very pricey, but great food. If it's your first time doing DimSum start small and ask a lot of questions. They have a check box menu where you can check the boxes of everything you want, I guess this definitely cuts down on the confusion of the waitress actually writing it down. Our waitress was ok, none really smiled or made us feel welcome but in all it was decent. We may come back sometime.

Viktoriia T.

Yelp
Restaurant not really big, but it is a good place to eat. Service was fast and food was good. Next time we want to try cheeseburger shumai and few different things on baked menu.

Hannah K.

Yelp
Dim sum was so good! Fried rice is not in this photo but HIGHLY recommend it. It's the best fried rice I've ever had. The siomai was fresh and tasty. One thing I'd add would be I wish the soup dumplings had soup in it. They were just meat filled. Overall great tasting and would come back for sure! The old man in the front was very sweet and helped us out. It's such a cute place to dine in for lunch and easy to find parking. We were traveling from SC and this was our last trip for the road and was definitely worth it before we headed out!

Audrey A.

Yelp
Yummy yummy in my tummy. Jacksonville has another dim sum spot and it's delicious! You can taste the freshness and quality of the dimsum. There's no cart service and everything is made to order, so be prepared to wait for dishes. The menu has a good variety, but was missing some of our normal faves like cheung fun/ rice noodle rolls and chicken feet. But we really enjoyed the flavor of everything we had. I'm a fan of mochi desserts, too. Will definitely come back.

Erick O.

Yelp
Came to welcome a new addition to the mandarin area. Lucky Cat Dim Sum gave me a feeling like I was at one of the local spots in Asia. The decor is simple and warm feeling with a lot of wood pieces. Everything we ordered was delicious and flavorful. OC Pork Wonton Soup Steam BBQ Pork Bun Steam Spare Ribs Pork and Chive Dumpling Pork Soup Dumplings Crème Brûlée Tart This isn't the typical dim sum with carts. You order by checking off what you want from a menu. The staff is wonderful and friendly. This is a welcome addition to Jacksonville and I hope you'll get to try it soon!

Kathlyn Joy J.

Yelp
Went during Sunday brunch and got seated right away. Food is so so. Got the usual dimsum food like siumai, shrimp ball, fried rice, soup dumpling, and eggplant with shrimp. Rice could use a little more salt. Wish they give the sauces to the dimsum. We got the spam banana leaf rice wrap. It got some flavor from the banana leave for sure. The guava and cheese French toast is very greasy. As soon as you bite into it, you feel the oil in your mouth and your fingers.

Eric B.

Yelp
Don't know why people gave a 1 star in the past. I eaten in many dim sum restaurants in the past in china towns from LA-NYC and this one definitely makes it mark in Jacksonville Florida. The place was busy and the food took a while but came out fresh and hot just the way it should be. I will definitely make the trip back up there from st Augustine It's worth the drive .

Ari S.

Yelp
For a soft opening, this place is very very busy! The seating are is a little small and was pretty packed shortly after opening, which was very exciting and surprising, big congratulations! The food was really good, my partner and I did all dim sum. We had gotten the taro lucky cat bun, pork shumai, egg custard, soup dumplings, fried tofu with shrimp, steamed spare ribs, and spam banana leaf rice wrap! My favorite was the taro lucky cat buns and the spam banana leaf rice wrap. The taro inside the bun was soft and had a subtle sweetness too or, but also very savory. I really enjoyed the rice wrap as well because it was very similar to fried rice to me, it wasn't as sticky as other rice wraps I've had which I like since the rice typically will stick to the banana leaf. Very excited for the grand opening to see any menu changes!

Jenn S.

Yelp
Our new favorite spot in Mandarin. Super chill and approachable for someone who isn't all that familiar with dim sum. To be honest, I've never been a huge fan of traditional dim sum -- but Lucky Cat's take on dim sum has changed my mind. Love the OG chili oil pork wontons, shrimp and chive dumplings, chicken soup dumplings, taro buns, to name a few. We've already been back and can't wait to try some of the weekend specials.

Yelp
Went there for lunch ordered Shrimp fried rice and Shrimp dumpling hagao. Service was fine food arrived in a timely fashion. Rice was good with a sesame oil flavor. Hagao was good but slightly bland needed to use soy sauce to bring out a little more flavor. Restaurant was full. Would try it if you have not menu is limited on offering's for any type of available.

Yelp
Food is alway great. I come mainly during the day and pick up orders at night. I live around the corner. But I noticed something yesterday busy or not my card is placed on the counter. Yesterday they were quite busy but 3 guys of a different race were handed their cards. I'm not sure what's wrong with my card but it's giving my money is not welcome. Also, asked for sauce in my to go order, sauce is placed on counter and not in bag, no eye contact, leaks on the way out. Let me know if I misunderstood but I'll be eating at home with this type of service.

Yelp
I can only give three stars today but I would give three and a half if possible and the main reason was for service issues. We were seated right away but it took a while to have our order taken and it took even longer for any food to come. Also, we ordered bok choy and it took our server 10 minutes to come out and tell us that they were out of it!? In addition the server seemed a bit preoccupied with other tables and did not bring us everything we asked for... the food itself was quite good and I would go back for that reason...we ordered the fried pork dumpling, shrimp hargow, barbecue steamed pork bun, and pork shumai. I hope things improve because I love dim sum and this location is very convenient.

Yelp
Lunch on a Friday and we're lucky enough to beat the lunch crowd. Service was great. Food is fresh and if you can't tell that? Then you are unfamiliar with Dim Sum. You can see by the inconsistencies in the fillings and by the cut of the vegetables in the Fried Rice. Wonton Soup and all the dumplings were the star. A couple of hits, suggest you get something bigger to put the Chili Crisp oil in. The small to go containers make you look cheap and are hard to dip your dumplings in. I know you are still working the bugs out. Just a suggestion. Plus, when we ordered a large amount of dumplings , they get cold fast on plates. I would hope you could at least get back to the bamboo steamer. I know nobody pushes carts around anymore (that I have seen). At least the dumplings stay warm that way. Keep your menu up to date, and try not to run out of items. Place appeared clean and price points were reasonable. I will be back

Yelp
Food is bland, the service is good, but the atmosphere wasn't. Nobody wants to come to eat and expect to relax when you see the waitress running around trying to do her job and the job of a hostess at the same time! That poor girl is being over worked and underpaid and it's not right. This restaurant needs a hostess! Or start paying the waitress extra! It's not right! Having someone do two jobs and only paying them for one is wrong. I don't support these type of shady establishments

Yelp
Stopped by for Sunday brunch and ate til I couldn't eat no more! Located in Mandarin neighborhood of Jacksonville, we walked into the cozy restaurant and were seated immediately! We ordered a pot of jasmine tea and began ordering pretty much the entire menu! Loved the salt and pepper shrimp, soup dumplings, shrimp hago!

Yelp
This is the best dim sum restaurant and possibly the best Asian restaurant in general in town. My girlfriend and I moved back to Jacksonville recently after living Austin for 7 years where we had access to fantastic dim sum options. Lucky Cat beats out all the ones we've tried and quickly became our favorite restaurant in town. Fan spends so much time perfecting his dim sum game and every dish comes out fantastic. It's incredible seeing such quality food in the area. Service is friendly and quick, no complaints. We'll continue to support and tell everyone about how great this restaurant is!

Yelp
This place was an amazing experience! Must tries are the steamed span fried rice in banana leaves, chicken shumai, pork bao buns....the list goes on. We are trying to work through the entire menu!

Yelp
The atmosphere was wonderful and the staff were so friendly! There were so many options for food that me and my friend got fooled after 5 different dishes. We can't wait to come back to try other items!

Yelp
Spectacular, flavorful, mouth-watering dim sum. I've eaten at a lot of dim sum shops in Florida and New York. Lucky Cat easily and effortlessly stands out from the rest. It's evident that the owner and kitchen staff spent a lot of time crafting their dishes. Some familiar dim sum favorites, as well as some modern dishes, like the Cheeseburger Shumai. The ambience is chill. I like the interior design and wood quite a bit. It has a tea house kind of vibe. They're closed for dinner for a couple more weeks but at night it's low lit with lamps and goes from a tea house ambience to a speakeasy type of feel. Great place to come with friends, family, or a date. Overall, you wont be disappointed.
