8 Great Filipino Restaurants in and Around Daly City

"Lucky Chances is a cardroom in cemetery-filled Colma, but real ones come here for Cafe Colma, serving Filipino, Chinese, Italian, and American comfort foods. The Filipino food here, however, is the star, with silogs highlighting longanisa or tocino with eggs and garlic rice; pork sparerib sinigang; and hearty kare kare with oxtail. Best of all? The diner is open 24 hours a day to accommodate card players, yes, but also night owls and service industry folks who head here for a fix of food at all hours." - Elaine Wu, Dianne de Guzman

We went to Cafe Colma. Great food, good service. Fast and clean can go wrong here. Serving some really tasty Filipino food personally, I love the Kare Kare

Google
Like this place. Had fun playing baccarat, blackjack and three card poker. Dealers are fun and food is good. Please note that blackjack is machine dealt and is continuously shuffled. Lots of parking. Play responsibly.

We came here after after a concert for midnight snack, everything was good the service was really slow but lots of servers walking around. They also out of a few thing we were looking for. The next day my friend came back with her family and the same thing, they were out of a few things. Bummer!

Google
My go-to after clubbing eats nearly 20 years ago was Lucky Chances Casino! And 20 years later my porridge AKA arroz caldo still reigns supreme! And oh…half the menu was Chinese food and the other Filipino. It’s so worth the visit! 😊🎲😋

Google
Casino had stern staff, wasn’t the most friendly. Chips were nice but that’s about it. Awful game cali game rules, casino gave off very old vibes as if they were hardly renovated over the last 30 years. Appreciated that they used faded spades for poker.

Google
In the restaurant waiting for a poker table and they refuse to plug my phone in, although there was a plug right in front of me, behind the bar on the back wall where I couldn'treach.. Horrible customer service. The food was decent though. A charger port should be at every table, with as much money they make.

Melanie Consolacion

Google
We went there at midnight before driving home to Sacramento. Food was cool. Service was a little slow. There were a lot of workers but they were doing other things like chatting or maybe it was their lunch and they were eating.. all at the same time. We could have been in and out a little faster though. But it's okay, we were satisfied with the meal. We got a silog plate and waffles.

Margarette Cruz

Google
I'm Filipino, and we love our food!! LC is always the go-to for silogs at any hour!! Great and fast service and very friendly. Above average food and service. Thanks, Lucky Chances!!✨️🔥💯😋

Yelp

Yelp
A go-to late night after drinking food spot for me! I ALWAYS get their sinigang every time. It's my comfort food! Sometimes the service is bad, but meh. I don't expect too much. It's like a ritual to come here after drinks!
google avatar

Rene N.

Yelp
The Good - Food, price and stays open late. Our go to is the kare kare, egg with shrimp over rice and halo halo. The Bad - SERVICE! Don't expect your waitress/waiter to check in on you, ask you if you need take out boxes or get your check quickly. If you do, you'll be waiting a long time! Come here hungry or after a night in the City from a club, and the food's a perfect way to end the evening. Despite the less than stellar service, we'll come here again!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
Filipino food served inside a casino?? Sign me up!! They are open 24/7 so they are the perfect spot for late night cravings or munchies. The oxtail from the kare kare was so tender and juicy. I do wish the eggplant and green beans were mixed together. I really enjoyed the ginataang dish, it came out piping hot. A bit expensive for Filipino food but the big portions make up for it.
google avatar

Andrew M.

Yelp
The perfect spot for late night food imo. I know a lot of food places located inside casinos can be hit or miss but lucky chances is always a hit. From their American food to Chinese food to Filipino food you'll always find something that'll satisfy your craving. The only reason I'm knocking out a star is because certain times I've gone they've run out of the thing I wanted to order the most. Nevertheless there's a back up that's available and hits just the same. Depending on what events are happening around the bay this place can get packed. So just beware of large parties especially at night.
google avatar

Yelp
Open 24-7! And a staple of the Bay. Great for late night eats w groups of friends. They even have soups for hangovers! Lots of fun memories here.
google avatar

Wilson C.

Yelp
Came here for the gambling, stayed here for the cafe. The food is good and also fairly affordable. Great thing is that the cafe stays open late if you have any drunchies!

Yelp
My husband has been here a few times he said back in the days after clubbing in the city apparently. Lol. After cruising through Union Square, Pier 39, etc in this cold rainy night we decided to come here. He told me a fact on our way here that there are more dead people here than alive. I was like uhhh...didn't need to know that. The restaurant is very dated and there is nothing appealing in this casino or restaurant. I wish we kept driving somewhere else. We were seated at a table that had a bunch of dirty napkins under the table on the floor, a dirty fork, and some food. Wth. As soon as we sat, a minute later the rude Filipino sever asked what we wanted. Of course I wasn't ready since this was my first time here. She rudely huffed off and walked away. We hurriedly scanned through the menu ready to order the next time she checked on us. She was rude, short, and put out very bad vibes. Seriously, why work here if you're so miserable. Perhaps try to fake being a little nice. She nor any of the female workers tried. I wanted to get out of there so fast. The food was terrible. I could have opened some canned corned beef and heated it up myself. The meat was hard and overcooked. I don't even "cook" like this. It was terrible and pricey. Seriously one of the worse restaurant experiences ever and we eat out A LOT. My girls barely touched their noodles and soup and said it was tasteless and cold. We will stick to Toppings or I'd rather just go to my in laws since my FIL and MIL cook way better Filipino food.

Yelp
Lately, I've been letting my friends take the reign and choose our meal since I usually have a place ready to go 90% of the time. Our midnight adventure took us to Lucky Chances.. an outdated casino in NorCal that makes you feel like you've traveled to the late 80s or early 90s. Why did we come here?? For the novelty of eating tapsilog + garlic fried rice (type of Filipino breakfast) in a CASINO. The food was hearty and delicious BUT the service was dreadful. I don't blame the workers for being overworked and forgetful of their customers but management really needs to revamp their late night workflow. They also close at 4 AM!!
google avatar

Skipp E.

Yelp
Been eating here late nice since the early 90's. Last time I was here was in 2021 and it wasn't the same. The tocino seemed soggy, which was odd, because it's never come out like this for me in all these years of patronage. Today we went and it was good. Just like all my prior experiences. Can't go wrong with the tosilog (eggs over medium). We also had the beef kalderetta and it was tasty. Portions are big and the food comes out pretty fast. Definitely a go to spot for good Filipino food at all hours of the day/noight
google avatar

Andrew B.

Yelp
I dunno about the casino card gambling experience here but the Colma Restaurant is awesome! Good variety of food. Especially Filipino food! Check it out!!
google avatar

Vince N.

Yelp
The Cafe filipino food was great. Everything was hearty family style dishes, we got silogs, pancit and lechon, the food didn't disappoint. The drinks here felt either too strong or too lackluster, but you're not really here for that. Service was okay, it took several tries to get the attention of a waiter to either receive a refill on water, extra utensils and our check, but it'd been a busy night so I'm not holding that against them. You're not really here for ambiance as it's a diner style restaurant living inside of a casino.

Yelp
Best silogs in the area! Loved coming to the restaurant when I lived out in the area during college. It's open 24/7 and have breakfast available all day long. So many items to choose from and portion size is great.
google avatar

Alyssa S.

Yelp
Had a lunch with my daughter. Food is decent and a lot of choices. American, Filipino, burgers and pastas.

Yelp
Didn't order much this time, but of course we ordered our Crispy Pata! Came here to catch up with family and this place never fails me whenever we're here. The atmosphere here is still family orientated and they take to familiar faces. Hence my cousin comes here so much, that they call him nephew and ask him where he's been lately - LOL! Tried some the salt and pepper fish filet and its exactly as having the salt and pepper wings but with tarter sauce. We cleaned our plate super fast, like it was an appetizer. Crispy Pata is always a hit for us regardless what time of the day it is. Spaghetti is always spot on and they never mess it. I did try something NEW and that was the warm Bilo Bilo with mochi, taro, sweet potato and shredded mango. It was the most beautiful thing I've ever had with a sweet tooth. I luckily came in on the perfect day to order it, because I was told it's always sold out. So don't get greedy and eat it all. I don't know why I haven't had it ever and super disappointed in myself for not knowing. I will always make my rounds here, because I'm always super fulfilled when I leave from here.

Yelp
Back-to-back; yesterday had cornbeef-si-log, today chop-si-log. The portions were muy generoso. Great calls. My plate's empty both days. Service was great. Will be coming back.

Yelp
Came here for the late night munchies after a good night in the city with my bro-in-law. He told me about this place and we came around 10-11pm. I felt like I was in the P.I. surrounded amongst my people. It was a cool experience. This place was packed up with lots of people from the casino and a mix of young adults either going or coming back from the clubs. I've never seen or even heard of a 24-hr Filipino diner before so I knew this was going to be good. The cooks were even Filipino which was awesome! I ordered their corned beef silog which had 2 eggs over garlic fried rice. My bro ordered tocino with 2 eggs over the rice. I thought it the food was decent; something I can easily make at home of course and even better at that. Either way, it was good and definitely a must during the late night. It also comes with a small cup of vinegar which pairs great with silogs. The Filipino menu had lots to offer which is a plus. They also have classic American breakfast style food as well as Chinese food. It's a mix of dishes here but it provides options for people. The prices are pretty expensive here ranging from $15-$25. I highly recommend this place if you're in the city or South City side and want something to grub late night with a few friends. I'd come back for sure!

Yelp
Café Filipino food was amazing. I don't gamble, however, I went, just for lunch. My friend Joe and I ordered rice plates and shared crispy patas. Real Fil-Am comfort food!
google avatar

Yelp
Interesting place. It's a restaurant that serves Filipino food / American food and it's a casino.
google avatar

Patrick S.

Yelp
It has been many years since I have been to this place. It's a decent place for poker & the restaurant served mostly Asian food. Since then, I have moved to the East Bay & play Texas Hold'em at local sites.
google avatar

Emy B.

Yelp
I always crave Filipino food, it's what I grew up with, it's everything. Hubby doesn't crave it like I do. Where to go? Here! The menu touches upon all the mains of Filipino, Chinese, and American food and no one complains. We each get what we want. Love it that this place is open late night (only shuts down for 2 hours, open 22 hours!) and you can get whatever it is you're craving for pretty much...breakfast, sandwiches, steak, etc. It's no frills dining and plenty of people come here just to eat and never step foot in the casino gaming area.
google avatar

Blahzay C.

Yelp
Thumbs Up! Skew and Brew - Fried Whole Chicken - Steamed White Rice - Pork Skewer - Chicken Skewer - Peanuts - Bacon Cheeseburger - Prime Rib Thumbs down! American Style Chicken with Broccoli - Wings - Fried Rice
google avatar

Mona Lisa L.

Yelp
Customer service and the food! Idk maybe because the waiter thought I didn't know how the food is supposed to taste like, all the food came out cold I had to give it back 2x for them to heat up in the microwave. I looked behind me at a couple and they made me want to order the Kare Kare, so I did. That was the worst mistake because it didn't come out the way there's look like. Ours seems like it was the last of it and very clumpy cold. I was very disappointed!!! Everything about food was wrong and we ordered a lot of food. The Pancit didn't take like Pancit, and who puts soy sauce in Pancit? Licky chances do! Worst Filipino food ever!!! Even the sinigang was cold. When I say all our food was cold. I've eaten here many times but with my Filipino husband. This time I was just with mu sister and her husband and the service we got was the worst!!!!
google avatar

Miguel T.

Yelp
My cousin recommended this place since I've been vocal about craving Filipino food, so my friend and I decided to give it a try. Yes it's casino lol but it also houses a restaurant, which was our main target. Upon entering, we noticed the staff were busy, so we patiently waited until we were seated. Although the atmosphere gave a slightly dated vibe, the overall ambience was pleasant. The service was prompt, and our requests were fulfilled without any oversight. We ordered and ate Kare Kare, Lugaw, and two types of Tselogs, and each dish hit the mark. If you're in the mood for Filipino cuisine, this place is definitely worth checking out!
google avatar

Lita B.

Yelp
We decided to have halo halo here after our Dim Sum lunch earlier. Thinking Goldilocks prices are too high, this place is just as high but they do give you a huge bowl. There's ube everywhere. So far, the best halo halo is somewhere in DC but I'll mention the name when I check in there. Their informal dining is open 24 hours a day (excellent) and plenty of Filipino dishes available. We all decided to come back and try their dishes. Indoor parking is a hit or miss. A lot of gamblers here.
google avatar

Cielita C.

Yelp
This place is everyone's go-to late night place to grab food. They have a variety of different cuisines. They mostly have filipino, chinese, and american food. They have really big servings and they're usually very busy on weekend nights especially when there's big concerts since everyone comes here after since this is the "spot" for real food around 1-2am. My go-to foods here are the silogs, the goto (served extra hot), and the Kare-Kare.
google avatar

Grace S.

Yelp
I came here a couple weeks ago at night and there were nine of us. We waited what, almost two hours? The host didn't even check on us or ask if we were willing to split our group into different tables so we could be served already. I just remember being so hungry and watching parties that arrived after us get seated first. The service was ok, they could be friendlier. And for waiting for almost two hours the tocilog seemed okay...I think if I was craving this again, it'd be better to go someplace else. I witnessed at least two parties waiting to be seated leave. I just wish they could be more communicative, accommodating and on top of checking in with the parties and letting them know how much longer to wait.

Frank T.

Yelp
No benefit this casino, I been loosing so much money at this casino cannot get any benefit from them. Now I found out the corporation is belong to owner casino family member. They play Pilipino cast spell style most people come play they all loose. Recommended better stay away from here if you don't want to be bankruptcy.
google avatar

Sharrie N.

Yelp
It's crazy to come to the casino for food.. but that's exactly what we did at 10pm at night. It was a great decision. They serve Filipino- American fare. From the silogs to pancakes, you have a pretty good selection to pick from. My sister got arrozcaldo- I got their lechon.. it was 10pm at night, no pics! Lol but it was good!!
google avatar

Kiana S.

Yelp
I came here after a late night of drinking because it's one of the few places open at that time. The other times I've gone during the day the foods usually pretty good. But this time I went they were out of a lot of their menu items. They weren't serving any sandwiches and they didn't have tocino which was a bummer. I ended up getting the corn beef tselog and the brand they used seemed cheap and dry. It took a long time for our waitress to take our order. The place usually smells like cigarettes because there's a casino right outside of the restaurant.

Ajay R.

Yelp
24-hour Filipino food consistently delicious no matter what time - always tastes like mom's cooking. Lumpia Shanghai, Nilagang Baka, Lechon Kawali, chicken adobo and halo-halo - all in one seating and we ate it all!!! Service could be better - often have to fight to get attention just yo place an order.
google avatar

Carla R.

Yelp
it's was a nice experience- felt like everyone knows everyone, smiling & greeting in their native language. Food portions are actually shareable, all of us got full left home with left overs.
google avatar

Jacqueline L.

Yelp
A staple back in the high school days :) their restaurant inside really does have the best late night drunchies meal. Their menu has a wide variety of Filipino and Chinese dishes! The best part is, whatever you order, you can't go wrong! Everything is delicious! The waitresses are really nice, attentive, and the food comes out pretty quick!
google avatar

Kim F.

Yelp
Comfort food across all cuisines, and great pricing. Have never been disappointed with any of the many food items we have eaten here over the years. Come and eat!
google avatar

Tiffany Q.

Yelp
lucky chances could be a hit or miss but 85% IT NEVER MISSES !!! you can never go wrong with with any of the silogs or the kare-kare (if it's available) ~ better to go a little earlier in the day when everything is usually available.
google avatar

Merilou B.

Yelp
A childhood comfort restaurant! Known to be the go-to spot when you're craving filipino food at 2AM. No matter the time, there's always a decent amount of people eating and the portions they give are worth the price. It has been more than 2 years since I've eaten here and the food still fulfills my cravings. This was my first time ordering the chicken adobo and it was probably my favorite meal of the night! Service is pretty fast with getting seated and receiving the food. Our total came out to about $50 for everything we ordered shared between 2 people. We got pretty full and still had to take some food to-go!
google avatar

Maria Elena L.

Yelp
The Filipino food here is great especially the Kare Kare but they charge you gratuity if there's 5 people or more. I understand people need their tips but my only thing is they sometimes get too busy and don't return your change, saying it was only $3 but yall got your tip off top already & why tell me a paying customer it's only $3!?! Then talk crap in Tagalog! I am half Filipino and may not speak the language but surely can understand it!

gary b.

Yelp
The food is low quality, the casino takes a large rake. The players are rough lots of arguing goes on. I really do not feel comfortable playing there. Much better casinos to play at.
google avatar

D C.

Yelp
Go somewhere else if you can. The ambience was a bit lower than I expected. Seems a bit shady for some reason. Bunch of locals playing here. Did not try the food. Action was good, but I doubt I'll be back.

Ria Grace A.

Yelp
Good halo halo and Bug servings too. Nice workers and very polite. Also friendly and good vibes
google avatar

rose s.

Yelp
Very good Filipino dishes. Ordered the kalderta, torta talong, Daing na bangus & crispy pata. They also have all kinds of different silogs.
google avatar

Mr G.

Yelp
I have only come here for the food since I am not a gambler. First, parking is limited....the bowling pin collection is random, but at least contributes to the originality. The food here is pretty good from Filipino food to Chinese to the American breakfasts. They are often however out of some menu items. There is not another place that offers these three cuisines (none that I am aware of anyhow) and the quality and fast service provided on all prior stops here. If you are near for whatever reason-my first time was the late night hungers-give it a shot!
google avatar

Geminyna J.

Yelp
Hate the wait. Love the food. There's no better place to sop up the late night alcohol than Colma Cafe at LC. But don't get it twisted, equally delicious stone cold sober when you need a fix of comfort food. The usual suspects: * Calamari * Kare Kare * CombSilog (Combo Silog) - tapa and tocino with garlic rice and poach eggs is how I get down * Lechon Kawali / Crispy Pata - so bad. Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good.
google avatar

Diann U.

Yelp
We only go here for the late night dinner / snack here lol whenever in the area. Breakfast plates here are delicious. Be ready because there could be a wait during the weekends late at night.
google avatar

Fe Y.

Yelp
The crispy pata to-go was a cheat. After we got back home, we inspected the pata and was surprised that its just a big bone and just few meats on it to add that the supposed crispy skin is missing . I was very upset. How could they do that? Calling the attention of the chef or the manager to look into this. If i can just go back there and smack this pata to their faces or who ever is responsible. I don't mind paying $20 for the pata. My point is they should be responsible of their job. I don't know if this happens often. I assume this is intentional. This is cheating and lying. To other customers,,pls be aware if your order to-go. You don't know what is inside the bag. ***** this ******** employees of Lucky chances.
google avatar

Sara R.

Yelp
Great place for late night Filipino food. The food was delicious it was my first time trying Filipino food. They have a lot of comfort foods and even serve breakf. The service was slow but would come back again for the food!
google avatar

Josh V.

Yelp
It is literally by chance that I get to do a review on this place! Every year when I visit my relatives in Daly City, Lucky Chances restaurant is a must to get the Filipino food. Mind you, we came here for lunch after having a big brunch in SF in Russian hill. Also the Zach Tabudlo concert was last night so I thought, what would be the chances of meeting him here?! They were low. I guess I'll just meet Joy Koy for now haha. I will say though, the aunties doing the order will mix up the orders of your topsilog or Bangus sinigang to go so brush up on your Tagalog so that they can correct your order. I recommend any Filipino to go to this place if you got the munchies or want a decent to go so you don't starve in your hotel.
google avatar

Charen N.

Yelp
This place has lots of great and delicious food. I don't know about the Casino. I just come and order food from here and they're the best.

Rea R.

Yelp
Order the minced beef it was more like cubed beef with frozen vegetables, the lumpia was for sure frozen store bought from seafood city. Horrible service.
