London’s Best Burgers 2022 | The Best Burgers in London Restaurants | Eater London

"It seems redundant saying it, for it is the express purpose of this map, but Lucky Chip (est. 2012) still serves some of London’s best burgers. The El Chappo — beef patty, bacon, jalapeños and blue cheese and aioli — has been a benchmark since it debuted out of a van in Netil Market all those years ago, and the Royale Wit Cheese is the perfect riff on the “burger with the lot”, spilling with fresh lettuce, tomato and onion to cut the oozing weight of dripping beef patty and melted cheese. Also at Netil Market in London Fields, Wednesday — Sunday." - James Hansen

Lucky Chip has been one of my very favourite burger offerings for years and would say it has been ahead of its time when looking at the burger scene now, thanks to awesome founder Ben Denner. The ‘El Chappo’ is certainly one of my favourite burgers of all time, with its aged beef patty, bacon, spicy jalapeño juiciness, aioli and blue cheese, that is just so simple and much loved by many burger maestros alike. Luckily by being with my partner, we got to also enjoy a double house burger whammy, sporting bacon, American cheese, pickles and a devilish portion of BBQ tater tots with chipotle mayo, cheddar and cream soda BBQ sauce on the side… or rather sandwiched between us both that we enjoyed like a box of popcorn at the cinema. If balls of potato bliss scare you, then the chips are ace as you’d expect with the name ‘Lucky Chip’. Whether it’s The Old Queens Head, Netil Market or Folkestone, I suggest you respect your elders/legends when it comes to the best of burgers out there and go have a Lucky Chip. Thanks as always Ben and team from a long time fan here!

The staff is so lovely and the atmosphere was different definitely, not an ordinary pub! The hamburger was a bit too fatty for my taste but I’d come again here for a drink

Burgers were great!! Tasty, juicy, tender, filling but you don't feel heavy after having one as it happens with some burger joints. They were also quite fast.

This was the last of Time Outs top 10 burger joints in London... Easily the best burger I've had out of them all! The tater tots were the big winner for me! Good quality, and lots of quantity

A splendidly burnt double cheeseburger the size of a small children's size burger! Ridiculously small portion for the price charged. I was given burnt food. And they never responded when I raised to concerns.

All I eat is burgers, I try them at every restaurant, look for good reviews. This though is in a world of its own. Yes it's quite basic but oh my good god. I was in shock how nice it was. Definitely going again! Best burger in London, maybe in the U.K.!

A good burger must have the juice. An excellent must contain delicious Juice. Now, lucky chip's El Chappo, has that, plus a perfectly grilled burger, a thick slice of bacon, covered in blue cheese and jalapenos that translates into a precious moment of sheer joy in my weekly routine as a Londoner. Whomever your are, you must try the Lucky Chip burgers.

Oh my gosh, not the lucky chip of old. The food was a disappointment and this was a place I absolutely loved in the past

Yelp
I went to have a burger on Saturday night which there was a cover charge to enter which was bizarre because I was only there to eat dinner. It was very crowded as this is also a night life spot. Down stairs you have tables to lounge chit chat and eat. You have to go to the bar area to order drinks and food. The menu is very minimal not many options think in n out outside Cali. I ordered a double cheeseburger without bacon grilled onions and chipotle mayo and truffle fries . The patties very large juicy and greasy as one could imagine. However, just good no over barring flavor definitely greasy. The fries were delightful just the right amount of parm and truffle. After eating I decided to make the most of my entry and go upstairs to dance. Please note the restroom area is very small I believe three stalls but enclosure is crampeD. Upstairs was vibey, Dj played a mixture of American tunes , 90s rap and UK beats. I would recommend this place for a burger and/or nightlife

Yelp
I do think this is one of the best burgers I've had in London. Lucky Chip burgers are served at the Old Queen's Head pub on Essex Road. The menu is fun, the burgers arrive quickly. Aged beef patty with pickle, ketchup and mustard. Had the cheeseburger with proper melty American cheese which really is the best for burgers. Good bun too that holds together. The burgers are cooked medium and I mean a proper pink medium, not just browned on the edges verging on raw in the middle which some other places are doing. The taste and overall experience is right up there and everything is just right, especially the beef patty itself which was perfection. Decent fries too. Coleslaw was good enough but not the highlight here. Been there twice. Consistently good each time and with reasonable prices and great service it adds up to a top rating from me.
