We just had an absolutely amazing breakfast at Lucky Hanks! Everything from the food to the cozy atmosphere made for a perfect morning. I ordered the Florentine Benedict, and it was spot-on poached eggs perfectly done, over fresh spinach, tomato, and creamy feta cheese, all topped with a luscious hollandaise. The side of home fries was a great mix of crispy and tender. My partner went with the Chilmark Omelette, which was packed with flavor and generously filled with fresh veggies. We also split the Blueberry Cheesecake French Toast, and WOW! that was the showstopper. Thick slices of French toast, beautifully browned, topped with vanilla mascarpone cream, fresh blueberries, and a light graham cracker crumble. It was rich, sweet, and just indulgent enough. Highly recommend Lucky Hanks if you’re looking for a hearty, delicious breakfast or brunch!

Google
This was such a great find! Not an overly complicated menu but very thoughtful options. Unfortunately we all ended up getting the classic breakfast but the service, presentation and quality of the food was top notch. Coffee was nutty and not acidic. Eggs were all cooked perfectly, multigrain toast seems homemade, bacon was meaty and smoky. The breakfast potatoes were diced small and had sweet potato added which was lovely. We plan on coming back to try lunch later in the week and even thinking of another breakfast!!

With brunch themed cocktails and Eggs Benedict on the menu, this was my kind of breakfast. With only two tables in front of the restaurant, I chose to sit on the porch in the rocking chair and wait into both parties were done dining. We had just missed the breakfast rush and arrived for 10:30 and it wasn’t busy. It was peaceful. The inside is decorated cute and has a small town restaurant feeling with trinkets and book shelves. The back of the restaurant has a larger seating area with a enclosed screen area for additional seating. I had the Hank’s White Sangria and Classic Eggs Benedict (Delicious). I was very pleased with the overall experience. Lamb our server was really sweet and everything came out quick. Took the MV Shuttle from Oak Bluffs and got off at the Stop & Shop stop and Lucky Hank’s was a quick walk across the street. Great place!!

Google
Great find. A wonderful diner with a fun and warm decor offers terrific home cooking. We went for breakfast. Enjoyed eggs, pancakes - excellent iced tea. Accommodates special requests.

Lucky Hank's is unassuming. Don't pass it by! The food was top notch and the atmosphere was lovely. I had the lobster salad...amazing! Even the table bread was delicious. Highly recommend.

Google
We went for breakfast on a rainy weekday morning. The food was delicious, and the menu had some enticing options! I opted for the French toast and was not disappointed! It was beautiful, and I ate every bite. It was a bit busy (we went around 9am), so not the quickest breakfast, but definitely worth it. Highy recommend!

Google
Nice sized restaurant. They didn’t have the cod cakes but substituted with salmon cakes. Tasty, but was looking forward to trying the cod. The mimosas have fresh squeezed oj. Host and waitress was nice and friendly. Service was quick as we went first thing in the morning when they opened.

Google
The cutest place I have ever seen. They have really nice outdoor and indoor screened porch seating (only issue - quite a lot of bees). Great food and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

Renee S.

Yelp
Came here for lunch. Sat at table in the screened porch. Had a very lovely time & great service. I had the Chicken BLT & loved it! I would recommend this place & would gladly come back..

Robert K.

Yelp
Food was OK. Definitely expensive for what we got. "Famous" French toast was pretty average. Service, on the other hand, was really lacking. Almost felt like they didn't want us there.

Yelp
This was my favorite meal on my June 2023 trip to Edgartown. There were only two other parties that Tuesday night so it was very quiet. It's a farm-to-table restaurant, and we could see the micro greens growing on the counter when we entered. I'm gluten free and the whole menu is labeled, with most dishes GF by default. Everyone at my table got the tomato soup("Today's Delicious Soup") and no one could stop bringing up how good it was, even into the next day. Two of us got House Salads which the server said were personal size, but they came out huge so we shared them family style. Those were good but in a standard way. My mother said the Salmon Cakes (nightly special) were also good, and my boyfriend who is a big meatloaf guy said theirs was excellent! A friend who is very knowledgeable about produce and maintains a strict diet ordered the Farm Share, reporting that the veggie cakes were the BEST HE'S EVER HAD. I tasted some and have to agree. The texture reminded me of a sweet sesame ball and I freaking love those. Even my boyfriend who is anti-vegetables liked them (they came with his meatloaf). I got the Pan Seared Scallops and they were delicious. It was a generous portion sitting on a bed of risotto with lobster chunks that absolutely stuffed me, though the risotto could've been creamier ;) We were all so full that dessert was out of the question, but I did order a chamomile tea to-go. The brand was Stash Tea and I was expecting something organic, but that's OK. I will 100% be back to Hank's the next time I'm anywhere on this island.

Yelp
Best lobster roll - served warm. Smaller than others but better lobster pieces and delicious sauce on a great bread. Charming experience. Great service.

JoAnna S.

Yelp
The menu options were a little strange. I do like that they offered breakfast all day, which was good. I ended up having eggs, bacon, home fries and toast. I didn't get a drink and it ended up being over $20. Just too pricey and the food wasn't that great. The home fries were bland. Waitress was nice and attentive with the water. Overall the vibe was cute, kind of like old bookstore feel.

Marcie G.

Yelp
Terrible, terrible service. Our wait staff was not friendly at all. We waited awhile for her to take our order. My friend was done with his order and she took his plates. I was working on my sausage egg sandwich eating each item separately. Later, I was talking to my friend and she came up to the table grabbed my utensils and then asked are you done as she grabbed my plate. 1/2 of my food was still on the dish. Then she looked at me you're done right. I was upset that she put her hands on my utensils so I let her take it away. The place was cute too bad for the terrible service.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
A great spot for dinner with a parking lot which is rare for Edgartown. The service was very attentive and friendly. My meal of cod was fresh and delicious however the side that it was served over was a bit over the top with multiple flavors and vegetables. I think the chef was trying too hard to be creative. It probably was just me as I tend to enjoy different tastes and creative meals. I definitely recommend.

Eugene P.

Yelp
We visited Hanks last evening for the first time this year. We are residents of MV and attempt to support the local dining options throughout the year. The food, was extremely disappointing. It was tired, uninspired, poorly prepared, and it felt as though we were served leftovers from previous nights. We had the COD, and my wife had the steak. Since it was a Friday night in July, and not even half full should have been our first clue. Apparently Hank is not interested in working but instead pre-prepares the food. Cod was baked as promised but definitely not to order. Dry, and ruined by panko crumbs. We shall not return. My suggestion to Hank would be to serve his cooked to order breakfast all day.

Yelp
I have been coming to Marthas Vineyard since I was born 32 years ago, but I just started going to Lucky Hanks over the course of the last 2.5 years. I have only had their breakfast so I cant comment on their lunch or dinner, but I am a Food Blogger that is located in South Florida and I must say this is my GO TO breakfast spot when I come on the island every summer. This was my moms first time at Lucky Hanks as she hasn't been to the Vineyard for almost a decade now so I knew I had to bring her to try out this fabulous spot. I had the Buttermilk Blueberry Pancakes with a side of fresh fruit to share, My mom had the Veggie Omelette with home fries! She absolutely loved it just as much as I do! Its a quaint little breakfast spot that is very family friendly and they aim to please. Highly recommend this delightful area!

Morgan K.

Yelp
Get the Benedicts. They are so good, especially the lobster was incredibly fresh and tasty. I also liked that the home fries are made of potato and sweet potato. The servers were friendly and the ambiance of the restaurant is very quaint and charming.

Lori S.

Yelp
first time in Martha's Vineyard, and I've tried every restaurant I see reviewed. there are lots of places I thought were good, So far this is my favorite breakfast place. The breakfast sandwich with their homemade sausage is very good! Cod cakes were great! If you get banana, strawberry, or Blueberry pancakes the pancakes are full of the fruit which I loved.

Marie P.

Yelp
Service was fair to good. Food was just barely ok. We ordered the grilled cheese with tomato soup and the smashed burger and one diet coke. The grilled cheese was very good, but the soup was awful. The burger lacked any seasoning, and the lettuce & tomato was comprised of cherry tomatoes & chopped arugula served on the side ... how do you put cherry tomatoes & chopped arugula into a burger and have it stay there When we got the check, the price was over $50. I admit we didn't look carefully at the prices in advance, but I must say the food was definitely not worth that price.

Karyn P.

Yelp
We had breakfast here. Our server was polite and efficient. The eggs Benedict was so good. The English muffin was grilled, nice touch. The home fries were really unique and so good. There were different varieties of potatoes which we enjoyed. The screen porch is nice to sit because you feel like you are outside but the bugs can't bother you. I would come back here for certain!

Alana P.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our breakfast at Lucky Hank's. I had the eggs Benedict and my spouse had the classic breakfast platter / both were excellent and my husband says it was the best breakfast platter he's ever had. The quality of the food was excellent and worth it. Server was very kind and attentive and we loved how quaint and cozy the restaurant was!

Yelp
*DO NOT EAT HERE DURING A PANDEMIC* Imagine my surprise when my husband and I needed a lunch place before our flight off the vineyard and Lucky Hank's manager ended up yelling at me. Our friends had called Lucky Hank's to make sure they were open and we arrived to an empty parking lot. Thinking it was closed, I ran (because we were short on time) into the quiet restaurant with no customers and a waitress sweeping and a hostess standing near the kitchen. Since I am immunocompromised I asked the waitress if she would wear a mask while serving us (all four in our party had masks on). She said that they didn't have any masks and I said that I had some in my car and would she wear one if I got it. She nodded. I ran out to my car and rifled through my luggage to find a new, unused mask. I brought in the KN95 mask and put it on the counter where food is given out to waitstaff when the manager behind the counter, who I hadn't even seen before, yelled at me and said, "I'm not going to tell my staff to mask! We don't have to do that here! You can't tell my staff what to do!" I was shocked. I actually thought he was going to apologize for not having masks on hand. He was quite belligerent, yelling at me. I explained that the waitress said that she would mask and that was the reason I spent time in my luggage getting a fresh mask for her. Had she simply said, "No, I don't feel comfortable wearing a mask." Or just plain, "I don't want to wear a mask." I would not even have gone out to my car to look. The manager went on and on about how there's no policy that makes him ask his staff to put on a mask and they have a right not to wear a mask. I was shocked how rudely I was treated. I didn't "make" her wear a mask (obviously). My friends were so apologetic about suggesting this restaurant. They did mention they saw the same waitress sneeze and wipe her nose with her hand, without stopping to wash her hands. During a time of rapidly rising numbers of Covid infections on the vineyard--a time for those who perform public facing work to be more, not less, vigilant of personal hygiene and to act responsibly to protect of the most vulnerable among us. A simple request to ask a sneezing waitress to mask during a pandemic doesn't seem like too much to ask. I wonder how they handle substitutions. Thank God we left... Good luck to those who eat there...

Yelp
Lovely local breakfast, lunch and dinner spot with a charming screened in porch. Food speaks of the heart and the service is with a smile. Pro tip. Wash down your breakfast of local eggs with fresh orange juice. Try the housemade sausage. Cheery and fun.

Paul R.

Yelp
Our favorite breakfast place on MV. I had the plate with cod cakes- really good!!! My wife enjoyed her omelette and the coffee was great .... perfect setting for nice meal

Papier T.

Yelp
Food and as delicious! I had coos coos, goat cheese and vegetables. Couldn't finish it all. My friends had wagyu steak and loved. Good place for kids; they prepared their food first. Very good service!

Neil C.

Yelp
Service was excellent and food was just as good. MV is expensive but if you receive quality it's worth the cost.

Samantha B.

Yelp
Overall great place for breakfast, great space. I had the crunchy French toast which was excellent. The only reason I can't give 5 stars is one hostess/server we interacted with. When ordering our 2 coffees (one black/one decaf) she practically rolled her eyes into the back of her head and as someone who has worked in CS her attitude was honestly disgusting. The server that took care of us the rest of meal was wonderful. That one interaction put us off for the whole meal...

Chris G.

Yelp
Small restaurant with great food and service. Very inventive menu. Will definitely go back.

Leigh D.

Yelp
We had great service and great food! Hidden gem. We had the scallops as an appetizer special for the night and the cod for our meal and it was incredible.

Grace K.

Yelp
I loved sitting in the back screened in porch! My Florentine Benedict was delicioussss!! My Bloody Mary wasn't amazing, but after that and the Bellini I definitely walked out of brunch a biiiit tipsy! The staff was veryyy attentive (take that as you will). There was definitely a nice homey vibe to the place and I ate every bit of my brunch!

John T.

Yelp
I've been here before for breakfast but decided to try for dinner. What a fantastic idea that turned out to be. I got the steak with asparagus and mashed potatoes. It was cooked perfectly and tasted divine, the best I have had in awhile. Dessert was amazing as well, you can tell the quality. Will definitely be coming back!

Jim H.

Yelp
The lobster roll should be instead called a pickle roll as you cannot taste the lobster and only taste the pickle relish. Why put pickle relish in lobster salad unless they are extending the shelf life of the lobster salad.

Christy N.

Yelp
Breakfast there was not great. The cod cakes were kind of bready. The sausage was so awful I took one bite and sent it back and asked for bacon instead. The bacon never came. The milk was lukewarm. Just nothing was terrific, including the slow service. I don't why it's called Lucky Hank's but it seems lucky they are still in business?

Luz G.

Yelp
This place is super cute. The presentation of the food is not the most beautiful but don't let that fool you, it's very tasty. They have outdoor (think garden house not al fresco) seating and indoor. They don't have specialty Coffey but the house coffee is good.

NapaHome T.

Yelp
Amazing food and great ambiance. We sat outside on the front porch area surrounded by beautiful flowers. The lobster Benedict's was delicious and so was the omelet and French toast.

Seon L.

Yelp
We enjoyed all the food we ordered! We had cod, shrimp scampi, house salad, and brownies. The food was so fresh and coffee also tasted so good. One of our favorite restaurants!

Renee M.

Yelp
A hidden gem. This farm to table restaurant is wonderful! The wait staff was very pleasant and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious!

Gale G.

Yelp
My husband and I decided to try Lucky Hank's for breakfast on 5/13/2023. From the outside; it was unimpressive! The hostess sat us at a table in a screened in room at the back of the restaurant. My husband ordered the Oak Bluffs omelette. It has bacon, tomatoes, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and home fries on the side. He ordered the bacon crispy, but it wasn't and he was disappointed that the omelette was lacking in overall flavor! I ordered the buttermilk pancakes w/strawberries and chocolate chips. Although, the pancakes were a generous size; I thought that they were kind of stingy with the strawberries and chocolate chips. Instead of getting slices of strawberries, it was probably just one diced strawberry and the chocolate chips were a small melted mound in the center of the pancakes. Oh and if you want real maple syrup it is an additional charge which I did and the waitress didn't give me enough maple syrup for the size of the buttermilk pancakes and when I tried the pancakes plain; they didn't taste good!

Elsie P.

Yelp
So yum :) such a good price too compared to the rest of Edgartown! I would definitely recommend this place. Super yummy!

Jackee H.

Yelp
Lovely environment and great playlist which was not overpower. The lobster slider and tomato bisque with grilled cheese was ordered. The bisque was lacking a flavor depth but the grilled cheese was good. The field salad was fresh and the lobster rolls were great. I would suggest them without hesitation. The French toast (brunch menu) ordered by the gentleman next to us looked amazing!!!

Jen O.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast on Mother's Day and enjoyed the lobster eggs benedict and breakfast sandwich. The fresh sausage on the breakfast sandwich was very tasty. There was a lot of lobster on the eggs benedict, worth the $21. Service was on the slow side, but not terrible, with only one waitress working the whole restaurant. Whatever playlist was playing was awesome. Would recommend!

Benjamin E.

Yelp
Dear Martha's Vineyard Yelpers: Perhaps you only eat at McDonald's and Chili's is your idea of splurging on a nice dinner. Or perhaps you are all senior citizens with diminished taste buds. Either way this place is not worthy of a 4 star rating. The place stinks. The pillows on the banquettes are musty. The food is mediocre, old, and unimaginative. The lobster deviled eggs are filled with egg salad and dried crusty bits of lobster. The pork chop is dry. The roasted cod is unflavorful. The crab cakes are actually decent. This old house should be condemned until a new menu is created. If you're looking for a place to take your grandmother to eat and McDonald's and Chili are closed, come here. Enjoy.

Becky M.

Yelp
Beautifully decorated restaurant. Food was hot, fresh and delicious. I had the pancakes, with eggs, and sausage. I'm from Louisiana the sausage wasn't flavorful enough for me. Friendly staff

samantha h.

Yelp
Awesome food and atmosphere! They did a great job making jt COVID friendly with outdoor picnic tables spread far apart as well as a screened in porch (almost like sitting outside). We had cod cake breakfast, omelette and pancakes, all of which were delicious. Food was prepared very fast. Friendly staff. A great place to stop for a safe and delicious dining experience.

Adele D.

Yelp
Lucky Hank's is our go-to place! Friendly staff, owner-Chef (Doug), wonderful fresh seasonal vegetables, best Eggs Benedict on the island! Quiet! Delicious mediterranean platter. Everything delicious!

Gabriela L.

Yelp
Hungover after my best friends wedding. Ferry was leaving in an hour. Needed a substantial brunch and coffee stat. I quickly opened yelp while waiting at a stop sign and this place was 1/2 a block away so we pulled in. We had thought about take-out since we were crunched for time but since it looked rather slow I asked the guy at the front counter if he thought we could sit down and eat in half-hour and he said sure we can make it work. And they absolutely did. The menu is simple with classic brunch options and that fresh island twist everyone is looking for. Once we ordered, coffee was instantly and the waiter even brought the check while we waited for our food so we could pay ahead of time. The food came out in no time, which left us plenty of time to actually enjoy it. I ordered the Vineyard Benedict, which has lobster on what seemed like homemade muffins. So great! The side of home fries were also a surprise because it had a mix of white and sweet potatoes. Don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu here. Obviously the star was the service here - we were in and out in exactly 30 minutes! With very satisfied tummies at that.

JP H.

Yelp
Enjoyed a second visit here yesterday while also recalling an initial holiday meal visit a couple of years ago. Ambience was as welcoming as I remembered, although the air conditioning level was too high and made our corner table seem overly chilled. Thankfully the waitress alerted the staff when I mentioned it, and the volume was lowered. My entree (scallops with risotto and some greens) offered excellent taste. A special appetizer of crab cakes had a bit too much sauce, although the cakes themselves were of good quality. The menu throughout its offerings is carefully cultivated and worth returning for another selection!

Camille C.

Yelp
My favorite breakfast place on the island! Everything I've had here has been excellent. Any eggs Benedict dish (particularly the lobster one) is a great choice. The French toast is also awesome if you're looking for something sweet. Their raspberry mint lemonade cocktail (which I had without alcohol) is close to perfect. I'm very picky when it comes to lemonade, and this is JUST the right level of sweet. Another part of the menu I like is that you can opt for local fresh eggs for $1 extra. NOTE: they do not take breakfast reservations and the wait on weekends can get long.

Hilary H.

Yelp
As far as brunch options on the Vineyard go, Lucky Hank's is clearly where it's at. Perfectly-poached eggs with local cod cakes? Or atop Benedict? Or with just about anything else on the menu? Go for it. I happened to go for the macadamia-encrusted French toast with fresh raspberries, but I could have added the ova if I wanted. Instead, I just stole some of my brother's. The interior of Lucky Hank's feels like someone's home - warm, exposed wood throughout and an airy, open feeling from the large windows that allow for plenty of natural light. The service is great, too - and adorable. The servers all wear pj pants to serve you brunch, so you really do feel like you're in someones house. Love it. While my French toast was delicious, it was slightly under-cooked and eggy in the center, and the 'real' maple syrup I paid extra for wasn't real. However, the cod cakes, those poached eggs and the friendly service more than made up for it, and then next time I'm in town I can't wait to come back and check out their raved-about dinners.

Kim B.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! We've been fans since they opened, but even during COVID, their food rocks! We had the vegetarian plate, the scallops and burger... all fantastic! They have patio seating (where we sat), outdoor picnic tables even a table out front. The staff was wonderful, but everyone needs to be patient and TIP WELL! Remember that restaurants are way under their regular capacity, so if you're able (and you probably are if you're on vacation on Martha's Vineyard) consider tipping over 20%. Enjoy this restaurant multiple times during your stay!

Ellen S.

Yelp
Lucky Hank's is the best. Great food, great service and great vibe! All the food is fresh, and plenty of it. If you go to Lucky Hank's, you will be the lucky one!

Catherine A.

Yelp
FYI - the map marker on this is off, and it is about 1.1 miles from HVH. WORTH THE TREK. You'll find it sitting amongst small little shops on Main Street and this cute little house brings warm feelings to your chest from the moment you see it. I was intrigued to walk here after a night of binge drinking based on their Yelp review, but one particular one caught my attention: a 1-star review from some entitled New Yorker who tried to bring 14 people unannounced into a 20 person MAX establishment. How dare you, sir. I, too, am from New York and understand that service will never seem as fast as it does in the city, but dude, you're on an island and tried to bring 14 people into a restaurant with THREE employees. ... I digress. Anyway, so my husband and I trekked here one morning and were quickly greeted and seated with our drink orders taken (OJ, delicious; coffee, strong). I ordered the Oak Bluff Omelet and my husband ordered the Lobster Benedict. Both were AMAZING. The flavors in my omelet complimented each other so well (they even serve local eggs) and, I am the first to say I do not like home fries, but these were SO GOOD. My husband is crazy about hot sauce and when he asked for some, he was quickly brought homemade green sauce that was delicious. We struggled to eat it all as our heads were pounding from the night before, but we wish we had one more day to come back and try it again. I also ordered the short stack and they were cooked perfectly, were light and fluffy, served with an appropriate amount of powdered sugar and pared well with our more savory dishes. If you're on the island, make a point to stop in at Lucky Hank's. You'll love its quaint charm, its simplistic décor and patio seating and feel right at home! The pricing is average compared to the rest of the island.

Mel B.

Yelp
Tasty food, fresh and great selections for brunch. Excellent service, would definitely recommend.

Kelly O.

Yelp
We had an amazing meal at Lucky Hank's! Everything from the cocktails to the entrees to the dessert was fantastic and fresh. Tables were spread apart so that it felt safe, and the service was excellent! Highly recommend!!

Bert W.

Yelp
Had salad, Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Cod for early dinner. Very accommodating and polite staff. Salad was good, Chicken was good and Cod was OK - but I'm a bit of a food critic. Price was $90 with a tip.

Peggy J.

Yelp
We had a great casual lunch here. The food was very fresh and delicious, I loved the cod cakes esp on top of a salad. Their drinks were super interesting and delicious. The menu was great with a lot of options like side of fresh fruits which we enjoyed. Only complaint was in the screened off area of the porch there were a lot of flies but whatever that happens...
