I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had at Lucky Hank’s in Edgartown. From the very beginning, it was a disaster. When we arrived, we were told the wait would only be about 15 minutes. Instead, we ended up waiting well over an hour before even being seated. What made it even more frustrating was that several tables sat empty, clearly set up and ready for customers, yet the staff still refused to seat us. We weren’t the only ones—other parties were also left waiting far beyond what they had been told.
Once we were finally seated, things did not improve. It took over an hour just to get our meals, and when we did order, the waitress actually laughed at us while we placed our order—completely unprofessional and extremely rude. Waiting an hour and a half for food would have been bad enough, but when the food finally came, it was cold, tasteless, and just plain horrible. For the price point and reputation of this place, the quality was shocking.
To make matters worse, the restaurant itself was filthy. The tables and floors looked like they hadn’t been properly cleaned, the silverware we were given was smudged and dirty, and the final straw for me was when I found what looked like dirt or some kind of drain residue at the bottom of my coffee. Absolutely unacceptable.
Throughout the whole experience, the staff was unfriendly, dismissive, and seemed more interested in brushing off customer concerns than actually fixing anything. The manager showed no leadership or effort to make things right.
This was not just a bad meal—it was an overall miserable experience that ruined part of our day on Martha’s Vineyard. Between the outrageous wait times, rude service, dirty conditions, and disgusting food, I would never recommend Lucky Hank’s to anyone. There are far better places to eat on the island where you’ll be treated with respect and actually enjoy your meal.
