Perfect place to unwind with good food and great ambiance. They serve wonderful mocktails and cocktails, too! Loved the servers/waiters/waitresses as they were so very attentive and forthcoming. Wonderful recommendations by the staffs, too. Definitely no regrets coming here and will return again. This happens to be my 2nd time, with the first being more than a year ago, and the delectable cuisines remain. Ample parking spaces that you can navigate with Google Maps. Reservations recommended as the place can be pretty packed.

This is our 3rd visit. Finally we managed to snap some photos, but trust me when I say the photos do not do it justice. The food is absolutely amazing. I do not understand the 3.9 star ⭐️ that they get because from the food to the service, they are top notch. Lucky Hole will always be the place that we bring our friends to when they visit Penang.

Went on a Friday evening at 6:30, it starts to get crowded at 7 ish ++ Food was good, i think prices for that quality is quite reasonable also. Can’t be expecting to split those portions with 3 right? Came out to about 191myr for 2. We ordered 2 drinks, 1 side and 2 mains. I think 191myr is quite reasonable and average cafe pricing in Penang. Was shocked to see so many bad reviews about the place. The service was very good, would definitely come back if around the area. Is quite near to other restaurants and dessert shops. A good place to visit with mid range price if you can afford for it. Price also reflects on the quality which I can say is immaculate 👍👍👍👍 Drinks were also very rich in flavour, tasted like a more atas starbucks! The vibes were also there, would recommend to come at 6:30-6:40 ish to be able to choose seats

All the food stands out for its consistent quality and comforting flavors. The food delivers a satisfying balance of taste and value. Besides, the team is knowledgeable about the menu and happy to help and the environment are clean, well-maintained, and comfortable. Definitely worth a return visit

A Masterclass in Texture and Technique If you’re in Penang, stop what you’re doing and book a seat at Lucky Hole, and get the seat at the chef’s bar. Trust me—watching the magic happen inches away is half the fun. We spent the night chatting with the chef between courses, and his vision is nothing short of brilliant. The highlights? Two words: The Chicken. I’ve never seen poultry handled like this. It was as tender and delicate as steamed fish—a total "lightbulb moment" for my palate. Then came the M5 Rib Eye. You can see the marbling and smell the rich beef fat, but it eats remarkably clean. No grease, just pure, aromatic bliss. While every dish was technically flawless, these two mains are the undisputed stars of the show. An absolute must-visit.

I was thoroughly impressed by the innovation and scale behind the dishes we had. I've been pretty jaded by fine dining restaurants serving pretty similar food recently, and found their innovative approach to combining many different techniques with local ingredients to be the perfect antidote. Great craft behind the eggplant to infuse it with a peaty finish, and the perfectly balanced broth served with the pasta (not easy to get Marmite right!). PS ask for a counter seat for the best human experience!

Made an early dinner reservation for a solo seat at the kitchen counter in mid-September 2025. After good recommendations from the friendly service crew (several items from the menu were unavailable), ordered my selections and chilled with a refreshing Lie-Jizz (jasmine, lychee, strawberry). My favourite dish was the super-juicy and flavourful medium-rare Stanbroke Wagyu Ribeye MB5 with Beef Fat Chimichurri, alongside the Wild Caught Prawn with Cherry Tomato, Chorizo & Grilled Sourdough (half-portion as advised), and the decadent 70% Varlhona Dark Chocolate Terrine with Cream Fraiche & EVOO. One of the best restaurant in penang. Its Michelin. It’s Japanese western local fusion. Chef is amazing. Vibe is great. Highly recommended all the food I’ve tried eg unagi salmon tartare n mocktails. Recommend booking earlier cuz it’s easily full.
