If I could leave negative stars I would....we ordered regular egg roll because my wife is DEATHLY allergic to shellfish. What did they send her...a shrimp egg roll. NEVER ORDER FROM THEM.

Google
Food looked horrible. I threw this ish in the trash so fast

Google
My chicken fried rice was not cooked properly. The chicken looked like it was boiled and the rice was almost white. I ordered two vegetable egg rolls and they sent me two vegetable spring rolls that were very oily. It’s been a lot of years since I’ve ordered from China kitchen but it’s not as good as I remember. Hopefully it was just a bad day.

I have ordered here many times. The last few time the food is terrible. Lacking in flavor, greasy eggrolls / overcooked filling with cabbage no shrimp or meat, dishes are loaded with mushrooms, lots of bok choy for filler, lacking in meat. Uncharged of $2-$3 for fried rice even with their combo dinners. The new owners have ruined a great place. Won't be back!

Google
Went here for takeout for the first time 2 days ago. When I got home the chicken in the dish looked slimy and undercooked. It didn't even resemble chicken. I threw it away. Needless to say that was my first and last time.

Google
If I could give 0 or negative stars I would. Since the previous owners sold/transferred it to the current people the quality of the food has gone from 10+ stars to the current 0 or - status, and that's a step above the service. They COMPLETELY MESSED UP our order (not the first time) and when we called back to get it corrected, she argued with us each time saying we ordered what we received, and having multiple witnesses in our household affirm our claim she continued to deny the fact that we ordered a totally different order and REFUSED to correct THEIR ERROR! Other times the food is what we ordered is just terrible quality for what you'd expect and should receive to the point we don't even want to eat it. And before you ask "well why do you keep going back there" to answer that, the ONLY time we order from there is the very rare occasion the place on the other side of Sony creek Bridge is closed, and like idiots we think "let's give them the benefit of the doubt" ALWAYS to end up being extremely disappointed yet again. I don't like to slam anyone but if the like once a year or every two year instance that an establishment is consistently that bad especially if it's not just customer service but also the quality then YES I will speak up and let others know what to expect and maybe prevent another family from wasting money on food that not only isn't what you asked for but is also to the point of being nonedible. All I can say is hopefully Lucky house on Fort Smallwood Rd changes hands again soon and returns to the level we had all come to expect from this restaurant.

Google
Love their food, I order General Tsos chicken ( not spicy) and I got spicy. They brought me a new order at no charge, and we're so nice about it. I've been ordering from them for years, and will continue to order from them. Great customer service and food to boot.😊

Google
I have to say this place is awesome! At least for me... Always fast with delivery, accommodates my "special requests" for no ONIONS. Drivers are so nice, just all around good food, good prices. With that said I only order appetizers and General Tso's, or Pork Egg Foo Young. And it's always good.

Yelp
My husband and I love this place! Don't get me wrong, this is not gourmet Chinese but if you're looking for a go to delivery/carry out I would give this place a try. We just moved to the area and the other Chinese restaurants in the immediate vicinity do not compare. The crab rangoons tasted homemade, the egg rolls were delicious and not greasy, and the fried rice is quality. They have definitely earned a loyal customer.
google avatar

Tona I.

Yelp
Crab Rangoon's & sauce perfect! Egg rolls with shrimp could have more in them rather than 3 mini shrimp. Pepper steak was delicious but more than have the dinner portion had the rice. A bit more beef in the mixture would improve the balance with the onions and green peppers. Friendly staff, just be very clear on your order. Egg drop soup was very good. They don't deliver however they use door dash and you choose the tip. I'm guessing that's there way to deliver the orders?

Yelp
First time try for lunch while at work & the food was amazing!! The prices are great as well! The service was awesome and friendly, and the ambiance was very pleasant. Will come back soon!

Yelp
Haven't found a great Chinese take-out joint since living in Philly but Lucky House is my new go to. Sometimes you just crave some greasy Chinese food and this place hit the spot. When thinking Chinese take-out, I want greasy, tasty, affordable food and no, this is not authentic as most Chinese takeouts are not. The customer service was great.

Yelp
The food was pretty average overall. We decided on Chinese delivery on a Friday night so I knew the wait would be close to an hour. We ordered the sesame chicken, shrimp lo mein and shrimp egg foo young. Nothing fancy about the food really but I will see that delivery is often times much faster than time quoted when placing your order.

Yelp
The nice lady who answers the phone never has a problem adding fried egg, peas, and carrots to my fried rice. I think that is awesome. They have a real soy base fried rice it just needs those extra veggies to be old school. At some point, they changed their dumplings to a more gyoza style, so I didn't order for awhile. But tonight I had a taste for chinese. I ordered white meat orange chicken sub for lomein. I thought it was very good. Chicken was crispy, fresh, and the orange sauce was just right. The lomein although plain (no veggies) was very flavorful. The egg roll was tasty and not too greasy. The only suggestion I really have is too add some veggies besides onion to the rice, and don't be scared to make it spicy when someone asks for "extra." Other than that, I definitely recommend. It is overall better than any other delivery chinese I've had around here and I've had them all.

Yelp
Lucky house was our first stop on the quest to find THE Chinese place in Pasadena--I was sadly disappointed. The egg foo young was mediocre, and the fried rice lacked egg...how do you NOT have egg in fried rice?!?! I will say the egg roll was delicious, but I can't only eat egg rolls :(
google avatar

Yelp
I'm sorry Lucky House but you have seriously gotta start some quality control. I ordered Mongolian Beef, a chef special. Apparently your chef must not think it's that special, because the beef came with that typical 'Bad Chinese food slime' texture to it. This same texture is the reason I abandoned eating from most Chinese restaurants, as eventually what starts out good usually gets very, very bad. It's shameful paying 9 dollars to be fed something that tastes like your chef is maybe suffering from severe depression. If not, then you make very depressing food and that in itself is just sad. I used to love ordering from you guys but it seems like the Chinese food places around Pasadena start out great and very slowly turn into the Mongolian Beef I purchased. Extraordinarily disappointing.

Yelp
Passing by this restaurant on the way to my trip. I,the Chinese want to eat Chinese food. Ordered spring roll it was delicious! and hot and spicy beef, one of my favorite. I got my food in 7mins. They were all good as expected. Price is good, reasonable. People are nice too. Should give it a try.

Andrea R.

Yelp
Paid $9 for a small shrimp fried rice through grubhub and the whole container had 5 small shrimp and no veggies just half cooked pieces of onion. I am EXTREMELY disappointed to say the least.
google avatar

Stephanie D.

Yelp
One our favorite places to get Chinese food from. Egg rolls are always delicious! We usually get General Tsos, always good!! Rice is good too!
google avatar

Ally L.

Yelp
It's ok, nothing to really rave about. The crab rangoons weren't as crispy as other places (didn't have that nice golden coloring) but weren't too bad. I asked for extra sauce and they didn't skimp on it whatsoever! The beef with mushrooms was pretty good and I'd order it again. The lobster fried rice is just rice, onions and "lobster" (I'm pretty sure it's shrimp) and there's no other veggies or fried egg in it, see photo. It tastes pretty good but not what I was expecting at all. I see other people have posted about their sushi... is this a special menu you have to ask for bc they don't have sushi listed on their website. You can order online which is fantastic and delivery was fairly quick for a rainy Saturday evening. I'll order from here again but I wish they'd amp up the fried rice.
google avatar

Rebekah M.

Yelp
Good service, easy to order and fairly quick delivery and pickup times. The portion size is large, and the prices are spot on.

Yelp
We have been ordering from Lucky House as our go to for a couple of years now. I am not sure what is going on, but today I ordered sweet and sour pork - received breaded pork fat??? I am not quite sure, but all the pieces were soft, did not seem to be pork at all. I have never been so disgusted by a meal in my life. I will not be ordering from here again. This is the reason I mostly avoid chinese restaurants, they seem to go downhill and start replacing food with mystery substances and subpar ingredients. Disgusting!
google avatar

Joshua L.

Yelp
My wife and I have recently moved to the Pasadena area and have been in a desperate such for a good Chinese restaurant. She has a hometown favorite back in Indiana, and, even after traveling around the country, has not found one that has even come close to her hometown favorite...until now. We ordered online for pickup. The employees were friendly and helpful. We order the moo goo tai pan and beef chow fun. The vegetables were delicious and crispy. Both chicken and beef were flavorful. It feels good to finally have a good Chinese restaurant again. We will definitely be going back there.

Yelp
Lucky House is amazing! My mother loves their Spring Rolls! Me personally I love their General Tso it's amazing (side note: I order mine with white meat only). I've been meaning to yelp about how great they were but never had the time but now that I do I want to talk about how nice they are and they make you feel like you have to comeback because their customer service is amazing! Back to the food! The Pineapple Chicken is sooooooo delicious, it was something I randomly ordered one night because I just had General Tso the day before and it was fantastic! Lastly, I had the Honey Crisp Chicken and I wasn't too sure of what to expect... let's just say it's one of my favorite meals to order now!

Nate G.

Yelp
Please! For the love of god! Is there a quality Chinese restaurant in Pasadena. If this is the best we have, then god help us all!

Angelo P.

Yelp
Very easy to talk to. Had a some chAnges that needed to be done to an order and were very helpful . Food was good chic and mix veg !

Michelle L.

Yelp
Ordered Saturday evening, took an hour and half for delivery. got the food luke warm at best. immediately stomach gurgling and pain, tried some of the shrimp fried rice yesterday, which was very bland, again stomach pains. won't be going back. And this is my first ever yelp review Shelly Pasadena

Ding N.

Yelp
Got the classic Generals and Pork Fried Rice, was freakin immaculate. Loved the food and the people who run it and deliver are great. Will definitely continue to use them as long as I'm in the area.
google avatar

Karen Z.

Yelp
Really had no idea what to expect but I'll put it this way if I can give this place a million stars I would! This place is outstanding me and my frds were speechless by the taste and the fast delivery!!! Thumps up!
google avatar

Chris P.

Yelp
Great friendly staff. Fast orders and good portions. Prices are also decent. Dumplings are good but not awesome and CA roll is brought in. So hence the 4 stars but fried rice with chicken is awesome! They continue to improve and are far better than the place up the street. I am a fan!

Nikki G.

Yelp
It was our first time trying LH and we loved it. We ordered combo egg foo young, wings and chicken lo mein. Everything was tasty, it wasn't greasy, delivery was fast and, ordering was a breeze.

Allie K.

Yelp
First time at Luckys, ive heard good things about them but i was a little disappointed. I placed an order online and got 2 general tsos all day special which included the chicken, rice and an egg roll for 7.95 I also ordered some crab ragoons. My food was ready when i arrived 20 minutes later which was good. The chicken was good quality chicken but the sauce was pretty bland in taste. The rice was well cooked though. As well as the egg rolls they were really good and not greasy at all. But me and my brother did not like the crab ragoons at all. They were on the underdone side. When ive ordered them other places the filling was sweet and creamy but the filling at lucky house was very bland and had a weird texture. I would not recommend them but maybe i just got a bad batch.

Giant Of L.

Yelp
Etymology. The words chow mein means 'stir-fried noodles', chow meaning 'stir-fried' (or "sautéed") and mein meaning 'noodles'.... If you order chow mein at this restaurant, you will not get noodles. Just veggies and whatever protein you ordered. I tried to explain this to them and they tried to tell me that what I REALLY wanted was Lo Mein..."Mein" being the chinese word for noodles. Otherwise, the food is standard as far as chinese restaurants go.

Toni S.

Yelp
Ordered food today didn't get everything we ordered. My husband called there and the employee at lucky house argued with my husband. Food is gross will NEVER order there again!!!

Sarah T.

Yelp
Lucky House delivery was fast and courteous. Perfect Americanized fast Chinese food. Portions were generous and prices were low. The egg rolls were done just right, and the rice was neither soggy nor dried out. The delivery man was ultra polite and arrived in less than an hour after the online order was placed on their website. Awesome!
google avatar

Wise W.

Yelp
The house fried rice is pretty good most of the time, occasionally it starts to taste a little fishy. The egg drop soup is ok, and it too sometimes taste a little fishy. Overall, still the best place I have found in the "Dena".
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
This place has the best Chinese food in the Dena. My wife is usually very picky when it comes to shrimp fried rice but loves this place. My son tears up the beef and broccoli. The service is fast and friendly.
google avatar

Jess L.

Yelp
Two stars because Lucky House has an online ordering system which is far more convenient than having to call-in. However, on Saturday we ordered delivery and were disappointed to find the rice containers only 3/4 full, the Mongolian Beef to only have 6-7 pieces of meat and be primarily onions, and the Dragon and Phoenix (General Tso's chicken and shrimp) to also be mostly onions and veggie fillers, and also that it was more of an orange sauce than general tso's.
google avatar

Taylor B.

Yelp
Their food is inconsistent. When it's good it's really good but sometimes it's just eh and you never really know what kind of day it'll be.
google avatar

Kennie M.

Yelp
My husband and I just ordered delivery earlier today. He ordered Shrimp Egg Foo Young and I ordered Rainbow Roll sushi. We also ordered Miso Soup and Shrimp Egg roll. My husband was very pleased with the Egg Foo Young and I thought the Rainbow Roll sushi was one of the better one's I've had. I will be ordering from here again - and they deliver in my area!!
google avatar

Margie D.

Yelp
Service was good. Messed up my boyfriends food, but we all make mistakes. They are usually good. At least they tried

Hilary H.

Yelp
I have been going here for over 10 years and they always have great food! Always fast delivery with great customer service!
