"For over 30 years, this tiny gem has been famous in the neighbourhood for its authentic Central Javanese cooking. The room feels cosy and youthful after a facelift and the food is as tasty as always. For chargrilled satay exuding an addictive smoky aroma, choose from lamb, pork and chicken varieties. Lontong capgome is sticky rice balls with several side dishes such as beef rendang, opor ayam and pindang egg. Pair with an iced longan drink." - Michelin Inspector
A cozy little neighborhood gem that’s been earning Michelin recommendations for over a decade. We dropped by on a weekday night, just before closing, and the kind lady owner still welcomed us in.
The food? Amazing. The pork and chicken satay were grilled to perfection—perfect char, loads of satay sauce, and absolutely delicious. Sadly, the lamb satay was sold out. The spicy Pepes Ikan packed a flavorful punch, and the gado-gado was solid. The ayam goreng wasn’t quite what we expected (more grilled chicken with satay sauce than fried), but still tasty. Both the nasi goreng and mee goreng hit the spot, though the rendang was just okay.
The place is small but charming, with a welcoming vibe.

It’s a good restaurant to come for Indonesian food. If you’re after such a specific cuisine then it’s good, but that’s only because it’s the top of the field with very few other good Indonesian restaurants. I assume that’s why it got the Michelin award but lost it in 2023. The price is really reasonable, I was very impressed.
The crispy chicken was a bit dry, lacked flavour and it was over crisped. The skewers were okay but the meat was small, stringy and the sauce needed a stronger satay. The fried rice was probably the best dish of the day. The bread was basically shop bought and oven warmed. The vegetables were really good, nice and fresh with subtle yet appropriate garnishes. Overall, I was happy with the meal but I wouldn’t rush back.

An excellent dining experience-authentic Indonesian flavors, good service, in a clean, cosy renovated space. Highly recommend Lontong Capgome-a meal in one of chicken, beef, cabbage, eggplant, vegetables with lontong(pressed rice), in a delicious gravy. Sate, beef rendang, mee goreng 👍👍

I have had a great lunch and what I like to believe authentic good quality Indonesian food > beef rendang. Mind you I almost forgot to make a picture, hence the image shows the dish after two bites :). Will definitely come back here. Friendly experienced staff. I appreciate Indonesian speaking but also good to communicate in English and Cantonese.

Great authentic Indonesian food at a decent price. If the staff warns you it's spicy, trust me it's definitely going to be spicy! Heed their warning unless you're used to spicy food. Also they don't seem to take bank card, have to pay by Octopus or cash.

My last meal in Hong Kong, and it was blessed. I love Indonesians for real. Satay more like sa-bae

🧐 It’s official. Michelin is clueless, when it comes to Indonesian 🇮🇩 food - which logically also explains why there hasn’t been a single restaurant in Indonesia that’s received any 🌟!
“Lucky Indonesia” in Kwun Tong, is a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant - and the Nasi Campur was decent, but feels toned down and localised for 🇭🇰 (and Michelin?) tastebuds as compared to say “Warung Malang” in Causeway Bay.. no fault of them in doing that though, they need to survive as a business by catering to the mass audience, just ain’t my cup of tea.

Visited from twenty years ago, and visited again after 6 years. Food is very good and tasty. Satay is one of the best.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place but I thought that the food was ok. The price is fairly reasonable but I wouldn't call it cheap given the location and cha can ting like environment. I probably won't be back since it's so far out of the way from anywhere I would normally go.
Food: 3.25 stars
Service/environment: 3 stars
Value: 3.75 stars
Recommendations: Indonesian fried rice
We ordered the oxtail soup, Indonesian fried rice, fried chicken rice and beef sate.
1) Oxtail soup - This is a tomato based soup and the oxtail had a real gamey taste to it. Didn't really like it too much
2) beef sate- the flavor is good but the cooking of the meat is not. If you don't mind we'll done beef than you may like this. I found the beef too tough.
3) fried chicken - taste of the chicken was good but the chicken was really quite dry. A lot of white rice and not a lot of chicken. I wouldn't order this again.
4) Indonesian fried rice - This was built far the best dish we had. This is definitely recommended.
