Minneapolis and St. Paul Restaurants That Have Closed Permanently in 2020 | Eater Twin Cities

"I’ve long appreciated Fuji Ya’s tried-and-true sushi and the remarkable story of its founder Reiko Weston — a woman who opened a Japanese restaurant in 1959 — and it’s heartbreaking that the Lake Street location, damaged during unrest, will not reopen after 61 years." - Eater Staff

Google
Lisa and Ming were both my servers their both amazing, very helpful and the food was fresh it's so much I could say about this place from the relaxing atmosphere to how clean it was definitely a bang for your buck (very reasonable price for a lot of food) I will definitely be coming back

Lisa M.

Google
The hibachi area is fun. The cook was entertaining. The server was wonderful. She made sure everyone was pleased. Great prices, especially on their drinks.

Google
I love Lucky Key. My boyfriend and I have been there at least five times and ordered them through Uber eats many more. The food is amazingly delicious. The size of the egg rolls are largest and meatiest I have ever had. Everything I have ever ordered from them is great. The service is amazing, especially the older gentleman who seated and served us every time. The atmosphere is calm and quiet as well.

Google
This review is for the LUCKY KEY SIDE of the restaurant. Service was friendly but a little disjointed. We were served egg role and our choice of soup before we ordered our entrees. I think out hot tea was forgotten, and when reminded, the server said it requires very hot water to be its best…. The tea came out a few minutes later and was not the usually hot temperature I’m familiar with. Our entrees, Hunan chicken and garlic shrimp, were good and plentiful, although nothing notable. The soups and egg roll were excellent. I look forward to trying the hibachi side of the restaurant.

Google
My oh my they give you soooooo much food and it's flavorful and delicious 😋!! I had to take multiple pics to capture everything 😁!! You will not be disappointed!

Google

I’ve been coming here since I was in high school and every single time the food is very flavorful and done right! I came to visit today and had some Chinese in the Lucky Key side of the building, they also serve Japanese on the other side of the restaurant. I strongly suggest coming here to do separate ether Chinese or Japanese food but they do let you order both no matter were you sit. I order some sushi today along with egg foo young and shrimp fried rice. My girl who I was with me ordered the triple combination (chicken, shrimp and beef in brown sauce) and i also add crab Rangoons for my appetizer. Our food came out fast and hot, the portions was very impressive considering the price! Can’t wait to come back for Hibachi Real soon, the yum yum sauce is the absolute best from my other experiences.

Google
Stopped in for lunch because I was craving fried rice. I came in shortly after they opened and was seated promptly. I sat alone at my own hibachi station and the chef was nice. The ginger salad was well dressed, I wish that it came with the hibachi meal. But I paid $3.95 or so, no big deal. The Scallops were not on the lunch menu but I was able to order. The rice was seasoned well and plentiful. They forgot to give me my soup but I enjoyed my meal overall.

Yelp
I read some good reviews on this restaurant from different sources, so I decided to give it a try. Let me first start by saying that the place is a little dated. The decor is very traditional, but welcoming. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Very very attentive. The food was basic. Nothing out of the ordinary, but exactly what you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. One thing I would note, is that this is a Chinese / Japanese restaurant.., so it has two sides. On this episode I was trying the Chinese side. We got a few things to try, the General Tao's chicken, Steak and Scallops, sweet and sour soup, and wonton soup. Like I mentioned, all of these dishes were basic. The fried rice didn't have any vegetables or anything... so it was mostly plain. The eggroll was good, but the wonton soup... was not. Just hot water with salt. The General Tao's chicken was good, just a bit sweet, and the steak and scallops was ok. I will say though, that they are very fast in getting you in and out. So if you're in a hurry, they can definitely accommodate.

Yelp
We had Hibachi. The fire show was good. The fried rice is good and tasty. Usually at Hibachi the fried rice always tasteless. Not this time. The service is okay and helpful. The ambience is family friendly. Good for group.

Jessica C.

Yelp
This is the best Chinese we have ever had!! Asian man was our waiter and he was SO kind and attentive. Decor was most authentic! I'm so happy I didn't pass this one up based on the ratings! Lucky Key is 10/10 and we will be back next time we're in Atlanta.

William W.

Yelp
This place has the worst Chinese food I've ever tasted in my life I promise you haven't ate it in years my friend suggested try again man I wouldn't even give this food to my dawg and I don't even got a dog. Chicken looks so weird and goowey DONT EAT HERE!!!!!!!!
google avatar

Lakeshea T.

Yelp
Not great but ok. Food was not prepared correctly so I had to send back. When it came out the 2nd time it was great

Yelp
I absolutely love this hibachi restaurant. It is not overpriced and they are always available to see you when you arrive. The customer service is very well and they also have very good food and drinks. The parking is free and there is plenty of it. Of course it's like any other hibachi restaurant where you get there you order you wait around for other people to arrive to try and feel the hibachi booth, but if they don't come, then the people will eventually come out and cook for you and the people that are already there. The chef puts on a great performance. I like how the restaurant has the individual rooms to where you're not just in a big open space you're kind of more secluded and it just feels a little bit more comfortable. They have very good sushi and they always have one dollar sushi specials after 5 o'clock. Their signature sushi rolls are very amazing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for some good hibachi and sushi. Drinks too!
google avatar

Kristen S.

Yelp
I've been dining at Lucky Key since my teenager was a toddler and the food is consistently delicious, the restaurant has a cozy authentic vibe and it's nice. These later reviews seem to be mostly focused on "the rudeness" of the staff and I think that these reviews are from implants to the area who expect a different level of attention than locals would because they have never been "rude" just because they aren't "overly friendly". The focus is on food and ambiance not on the host or server becoming your new best friend!

George H.

Yelp
Definitely would not recommend this place! A complete rip off for take out hibachi..a waste of money $29 and food looked cooked already and not fresh. Dont go unless you want to pay outrageous prices for some rice and veggies!

Kerrie M.

Yelp
This place is kinda old school, which to me is totally fine. I'm a soup snob and their hot & sour and egg drop are spot on! Egg rolls are awesome. Hubby used to work nearby and this is how we discovered this place. I love their lo mein. They make noodles in house and the meat is always perfectly velveted. I have not had the hibachi yet, but only because I love the Chinese side and Mr. Ming is amazing.
google avatar

Nitza P.

Yelp
Love it here. I've never had a bad experience! Hospitable people! Attentive staff! Great food, and food portions! This place is one of my favs. The schezwan shrimp is elite! The Mongolian trio is elite. Love love this place!

Ian Y.

Yelp
The food is amazing and comes out very fast! Yhe decorations make you feel like your just at China! The customer service is also amazing!

Pager S.

Yelp
I have literally just walked out of this place my first time here. I'm attempting to make a significantly large order, and was asking a question, as a new customer. The lady who is at the checkout counter was extremely rude and insinuated that I couldn't read. The menu that they have is full of typos and misspelled words. No thank you I'll pass. My suggestion is if you like rude customer service. This is exactly the place for you to come to. Can't say much about the food because I didn't even get that far. I immediately walked out.
google avatar

WILLIAM B.

Yelp
Went there for lunch last week to the Hibachi Fuji Yo side and so much delicious food cooked in front of the two of us. I had the steak and shrimp which came with the miso soup and so much fried rice I had enough for dinner. Everyone was so friendly with excellent service. Definitely will be returning.
google avatar

Hidat G.

Yelp
Very disappointed today me abd my daughter went there to have good time .we seat there over 20 min no one offer drink or nothing we left so disappointed.
google avatar

Lamar P.

Yelp
Great steak and chicken fried rice I usually been coming there for occasion Since 08 two

Trevor L.

Yelp
The stench of burnt food as we entered, an employee sleeping in the seating area and snoring very loudly, food that tasted bitter, burnt, rubbery, gristly, and beefy (in the case of the vegetarian dish), a manager who was rude and actually tasted the food to conclude that there was nothing wrong with it---terrible experience. We had been here many times before. The waiting staff are excellent, but this last experience left a bad taste in our mouth.

CalRev M.

Yelp
In my opinion, this place has really declined in the past few years (decor & food quality). In addition to appearing rundown to me, the quality of the food I received was also very poor. I ordered a New Year's Eve takeout meal for the family - $90+. There was a staple in the rice and a piece of string on the California roll. There were also egg shells in the fried rice which one of my children nearly ate. I've received bad food & service from them in the past, and I have repeatedly given them chances to redeem themselves. Yet, they continue to fail us. I will NOT be returning. Going to Kobe instead.
google avatar

Alicia C.

Yelp
No shade, but this is the worst Asian cuisine I have ever had. No exaggeration. Both of the dishes that I selected are so sweet I can't even enjoy it. I was expecting a savory dish and I have had these dishes at other Asian restaurants. However, they were unnecessarily sweet. Not only that, the chicken was so dry that you could tell either it was freezer burnt or is way past its time. I ordered steamed rice, as I was at least looking forward to that, and even that wasn't as good. I can't explain it. But hey, great service! Just horrible food. No shade. I should've read the reviews before going but I was so hungry Let this be a lesson.

Yelp
Every visit has been a delight. The food is not just tasty but also generously portioned, ensuring satisfaction with every bite. Their quick delivery service adds to the convenience, making it a go-to choice for busy days.

Ted M.

Yelp
We had dinner with my 98 yr old mother-in-law and my son and grandkids. The experience was amazing. Besides making a fuss about my mother-in-law, our servers treated our grandkids like they were theirs. They were delighted with the " kids chopsticks". And the food. Bountiful and delicious! Thank you for the wonderful food and thoughtful attention. Can't wait to come back and dine with you again.

Skylin W.

Yelp
Spilled a drink on me. Kept doing pranks and not focusing on cooking the food. The food was not seasoned .the bathrooms were dirty. And they were making fun of me when I didn't take the vegetable and they were mean to me.

Yelp
What you need to know: Run. Just run. Your taste buds will thank you. This place is stuck in the 90s, but not in a good, nostalgic way. The food has somehow gotten so much worse over the years. The only real shining light here is the service is always attentive. Was close by and grew up coming to this place in the 90's as our hibachi experience, so decided to try it out again. Boy how the mighty have fallen. Whatever nostalgia I had of this place from my youth died today. Food: Got the beef hibachi dinner and gyoza. The gyoza were so doughy and thick that you could barely taste anything else. Over fried and just a complete mess. The beef hibachi? First the meat has absolutely no seasoning - not even a bit of salt. Just tasted like tough chewy low grade steak and vegetable oil. The veggies that came with it were basically onions with a broccoli or two thrown in for good measure. The salad was obviously old with its clear discoloration. The soup was your basic boring beef broth. But hey, at least they didn't mess up the rice - at least that's one thing they can still nail - good old steamed white rice. The sauces were abysmal. The ginger dressing for the salad was old and broken, and the yum yum sauce or whatever that came with the hibachi was basically just mayo and sugar with some food coloring. Price: Ended up paying almost $60 for two of these orders. Complete waste of money. Service: This was great. They were friendly enough, and had my order out super quick. Needless to say I won't be back.

Yelp
Changed over the last year, if not sooner in which I was here for my birthday in October. Would be a 4 star rating at-least however food is just not the same anymore. Quality has gone down drastically overall. Service felt rushed and mediocre environment now.
google avatar

Chris H.

Yelp
I came here for a friend's birthday dinner and thoroughly enjoyed the hibachi experience. The food and service was great. They get the 3 stars for that. I came again and tried some sushi, meh. Then I tried this establishment a 3rd time, this time placing a to-go order over the phone. I orederd the Japanese beef fried rice and when they handed me the bag I knew I was gonna be disappointed. The bag was so light (weight wise). I didn't open it till I got home and I ate the sorriest $14 fried rice ever. Hardly any beef, no flavor, just all around wack! I would patronize this place again for the hibachi, but I would suggest skipping everything else.

Steve D.

Yelp
We've been ordering out from Lucky Key/Fuji Ya for well over a decade. Probably at least once a month. We love their entire Chinese menu as well as the sushi. No meal is complete without pot stickers and hot&sour soup. Deliveries are fast and friendly! This is our go-to neighborhood Asian restaurant.

Lashelle D.

Yelp
My daughter and I arrived at 243pm for lunch. The hostess didn't speak when I said hello and said that I could not get the hibachi lunch because it was too close to lunch being over to be seated. Lunch is from 11am to 3pm. We were there before lunch was over. She said the chef was cooking the last of the lunch so we would have needed to be there earlier. So where is the disclaimer that says I need to be there before 3pm to be served. What time do I need to be there to be served for lunch when the sign clearly says lunch is from 11am to 3pm? They didnt want to cook anything past 3pm Maybe they need to change ot to 230pm. Both hostesses were rude. We left. We will never return again. What a disgrace!
google avatar

Jay D.

Yelp
If you go for dinner they serve generous portions for a decent price. They also have a lunch menu. The service is straight to the point, and the food comes out really fast. They've got a sushi bar & options for hibachi. I appreciate the variety.
google avatar

Grant P.

Yelp
Dark, dingy, heavily chlorinated drinking water. C-minus Kung Pao chicken. Way over-priced for what it is. Needs a complete remodel. Like stepping into a bad 1960s hole in the wall. Hot and sour soup was decent.
google avatar

Elijah G.

Yelp
They are cutting back on the food portions but are charging more money I'm tired of the racket I spend 20 bucks and was still hungry. I got a 9.95 spider roll and only got 5 pieces come on it used to be 8. Money grab and the quality is just ok..

Lucius B.

Yelp
Awesome sushi and attentive staff. Sushi Chef Johnny is excellent! Also try the Tempura Scallops !!!

Yelp
You can find Lucky Key at 4135 Lavista Rd, Tucker, GA 30084 in the first shopping center as you exit west from I285 into Lavista Rd - this center is anchored by Best Buy and a relatively new Aldi store - there's also a decent Mellow Mushroom one one end (the end with the tower). Parking is out front and there's typically plenty. Lucky Key is owned by the same people who have Fuji Ya Japanese Steakhouse - the two restaurants are internally open to one another through a breach in the adjoining wall and I believe you can order from either menu from each side. On this evening we tried the Chinese side (I've eaten at both restaurants in the past but it's been quite a long time, I'm thinking more than 10 years). They typically have very inexpensive specials - $5.95 lunch and $11.95 dinner (but it varies a little) - I know people that work in the area to take advantage of the super cheap lunch. As Chinese restaurants go, this would fall into what I call swag-Chinese - your basic Chinese-influenced food designed with western ingredients and your typical American in mind. You'll find all the classics here - actually there's so much better Chinese food on Buford Highway that we usually don't venture to Lavista unless we're eating pizza (Mellow Mushroom) but for some reason we were nearby, it was late and we were hungry having missing the typical dinner hours, so here we are. The interior is relatively clean with cloth tablecloths covered in hard plastic for easy cleaning. There are your typical Chinese iconography on the walls and an attempt at elegance via ceiling fixture. Not bad if a bit dated but there's a lot of comfort to be found in places that retain this look. For dinner we did the Hot and Sour soup (included) - this was dark and peppery with dropped-egg, perhaps not as sour as I typically like but it's a good way to start the meal. I've had better but I've also had much worse. We also had chicken with Chinese vegetables (it rang up as "Fragrang Chicken" - not sure if that's at item or what - I asked for it extra spicy) and a Chicken Lo Mein (also supposed to be spicy) - as usual they really weren't spicy - seems most of these places just throw in some dried whole red-chiles when I'm really looking for blazing hot. At least they're consistent, right? Overall the food was neither good nor bad - sort of right in the middle but nothing spectacular. I can see why some of my local friends like the place - it's cheap, filling and very predictable, good but not great. Service was good considering we arrived late and we could tell they wanted to close (we were the only table seated). We hurried through the meal - I think we left shortly after 9:00 PM. Total spent was around $20 with tax, $24 with tip. (also posted to my food blog)

Yelp
Saw a yelp review a few months ago and tagged to try. Adjacent attached chinese and Japanese/hibachi caught my attention. Wife and son had chinese. I had Japanese . But we sat on the Chinese side I had the 8sushi and 7sashimi special for 18.95. (Three sizes available) Had with very good miso soup. Most of the sushi/sashimi was very good (salmon, tuna, yellowtail), few were mediocre. (Mackerel, roe). Sizzling rice soup with chicken was excellent The sweet and sour chicken "express box" was excellent and a real bargain at only 10.95. (Only 895 at lunch) Not your typical combo. Included half California roll, egg roll , chicken wing, soup and fried rice, and chinese bread. Some communication issues especially on the Japanese food. Will come back to try the hibachi (chicken is only 15.95dinner, 9.95 at lunch) Plenty of parking as in best buy shopping center on lavista at i285
google avatar

Cassandra M.

Yelp
Probably the most disappointing take out order ever. I ordered sweet and sour chicken. They drenched it in sauce before it left the store. I have never had that happen. So I got a bunch of soggy chicken nuggets. That sizzling rice soup was inedible. Gross is the only word I can muster. Maybe Nasty but they are sort of synonymous. In this age of take out for businesses to be delivering bad food is just odd. Don't you need business? You'll get no more of mine.

Natalie r.

Yelp
Literally fantastic Chinese and Japanese food I literally could not choose a nicer staff and food place. I would literally die for the servers. Definitely feels like it has history and the ambiance is so comfy.
google avatar

Darren H.

Yelp
This is one of those old school places that you'd find in New York. You know the ones where the interiors were pretty old and worn but the food is worth it. I didn't stay and eat my food but got it too go. Had to go inside to pick it up and got a feeling for the waitstaff and the interior. Got the Sweet and Sour Pork with the fried rice and the pot stickers. The sweet and sour was really good. The pot stickers weren't the best but they will do, be mindful that the parking in this strip call isn't the best so if you have a car that you are trying to avoid the door dings watch where you park. If you have a wait there's always a best buy in the same complex that you can kill some time at. If you ask I'd say give them a try.
google avatar

Pitchaya W.

Yelp
We saw the restaurant was just a few mins from where we are and curious to try. The server who doesnt speak much of English took us in for Hibachi. We ordered a sashimi app and giant shrimp roll plus hibashi. After a long wait we're ready to walk out without our food. Server kept us waiting doesnt matter what we need. After that long wait all Hibahi was cooked and served the server forgot to order us the sushi roll without asking if we still want it or not she just go and ordered it. The sushi doesnt even taste right :(. The Hibashi chef is nice and cook fast. Hibashi Food taste ok. But overall not impress. On top of that they will charge you 18% auto-grat. Not going back sorry for the chef to be in such place. With the service I rather be somewhere else.

Yelp
This is one Atlanta's Top Chinese restaurant and hibachi. The food is very authentic and huge portions that you can share. Causes the food options are great my favorites are the duck entrées the crispy duck specifically the Mongolian beef and the egg foo Young

Janazia H.

Yelp
Food was horrible. I should've listened to my gut before going after reading bad reviews !!! A complete waste of $70 !! I ordered a meal and they don't tell you that it already comes with regular fried rice and it can't be substituted so they add a big ass plate of whatever rice you order and charge you for it !! Their customer service is horrible. The chicken was old as hell and disgusting !! The rice was even disgusting , I don't see how this place is still standing ! The only thing that was decent was their spring rolls !

Mycah S.

Yelp
I neverrrrr leave reviews but WTF! I tried them on my lunch break and almost threw up...disgusting. Texture is horrible, food looks scary to eat. Place smelled weird upon arrival and didn't even notice the reviews said they had roaches!!! Will never come back again
google avatar

Ngelah A.

Yelp
We sat down. The roaches sat down next to us two minutes later. Enough said. Nothing else matters. Please call the health inspectors. When I told them about it on my immediate exit they were like 'Oh we just lost a customer' like that's normal! Yuck
google avatar

Maggie B.

Yelp
I've had a few good experiences from here, but the bait and switch game of listing menu items for online orders and then claiming the meal either doesn't include listed items or claiming the prices are incorrect is still happening. Tonight they called me after placing an order and told me that the prices I'd already paid for over half the order ended at 5:59 and my order didn't come through until 6:02. Really guys??? If they hadn't already confirmed the order and charged me for it I might be understanding (probably still miffed at your stingy asses because there wasn't a time listed on said menu, and it's still popping up here at 8pm) , but I think after you confirm the order you should adhere to whatever it is. I cancelled the whole thing. I'm not wasting my time with this place anymore. An easy to go meal when you don't want the hassle of cooking shouldn't be a further hassle. BYE FELICIA!

Yelp
Egg rolls to die for .... The sushi I bought i couldn't eat it presentation was lacking .... I just thought they were so much better before I don't know what happened

Yelp
We come here for the dollar sushi night (Thursdays). Fujiya is a charming neighborhood restaurant. Family friendly. Dollar sushi night is a great way to get a decent sampling of different things. Sure, the portion sizes are going to be small, but everything is clean, and there's enough stuff on the dollar menu to make any purist happy. Fujiya is the Japanese side. Lucky Key handles the Chinese food. Both menus are good. The food is tasty. Service is always fast. And if you go there for sushi, and one person in your party still wants Chinese, they will handily accommodate her wishes. Staff here is super friendly. It didn't take long to be on a first-name basis with some of the servers. If you go, tell them I sent you. Holler if you want some company.
google avatar

Richard S.

Yelp
Was the worst Chinese food I've ever had couldn't even eat it. Was trying to give it a second chance I wish I could give it no stars.
google avatar

Shani S.

Yelp
I really love this place for sushi & hibachi. The food is always delicious and when I lived in the area I would always order to go service. It was speedy!

Yelp
When I first moved here in the 80s, this was a great place. As years went on, I found it to be my favourite, and has been until this year...but there had been many changes that occurred that built into it. What once was fresh and soft steamed rice has become old and luke warm and hard. The fried rice used to have a moderate amount of egg in it; it's just speckles of dried egg matter. What was once extremely savoury and just sweet enough has taken the taste of regular USAmericanised food. The gentleman that took my orders all the time who was considerate and punctual hasn't been there for my last few visits. The price has gone up in the last few years, but to tell you the truth, for a long time, they didn't move much, but that only shows a hike in price even more. And speaking of price, they don't make sense. The menu doesn't make much sense. Take a look at the menu. They have two groups of lunch specials with different prices, and limited description. Good luck asking the staff the difference so that you can figure out if it's worth it...Oh, and that doesn't even mention their daily lunch special, so it's possible that the thing you want has three different lunch specials...'Good luck, again. It's sad when a place like this is beaten by a place down the street next to a Food Depot that has been consistently just as good at 4 Stars when your favourite drops from a 5.

Yelp
This is my usual and favorite quick lunch spot. A Colorful hybrid restaurant with separate sections dedicated to traditional Chinese and Japanese fare. Two different cuisines in one place that is Lucky Key Chinese and Fuji Ya Japanese. They serve a varieties of traditional Chinese and Japanese food. The service is amazing and I love the food. The location and the background music is cool. They have a good portion of the meal for a reasonable price. They do have ample free parking in front of the restaurant. Fuji Ya Japanese restaurant provides fresh traditional Japanese sushi and sashimi. In their hibachi rooms, they bring you the great food and the fun around. Their hibachi Houses cook in front at the hibachi tables with entertaining style. They have 4 Hibachi rooms. Two of them are large for 40+ people. The other two can have 15+ people. Contact them if you need to reserve a room for group party. They are located at North lake Square 4135 Lavista Road, Tucker, GA 30084 right off the I 285 exit 37. They have a new promotion now Hibachi Special for $9.95 Monday to Friday 5:00 - 6:00 pm and Happy Hours (5:00 pm - 6:00 pm). I have ordered the House Chicken for lunch which is Sesame Chicken which included a Hot & Sour Soup, Egg Roll and Fried Rice. Everything tasted yummy and fresh. The service is quick and fast. I will be back again to try some more different options from their menu.

Yelp
I've been coming here for yeeeeeaaaaars!!! It's not THE BEST food ever but I always get the same thing. Fuji Yah Roll is my favorite roll! Anyways, came here yesterday with my girl Naly.. Just had lunch to catch up on life. I tried to keep it healthy but she ended up ordering Shrimp Tempura and ofcourse my favorite Fuji Yah roll. FML! Anyways, the salads and greens were fresh. I ordered the grilled mussels and I think they forgot to put all the mussels back in there cuz it was skimpy but the taste was good and a bit spicy. We had hot tea and dust from the ac above us fell into Naly's tea ':/ But food was good, service good, everybody cool, we'll still forever be coming here as long as they're open since we pretty much grew up coming here and Naly worked next door too.

There are not a lot of sit-in Chinese restaurants left with full service, decor, and the whole works. So I do appreciate Lucky Key for that. However, the interior of Lucky Key is very off putting. The booths are bright pink, and some of them broken. The carpet seems very dirty, and most of the ceiling has very dark spots. Decoration is old and eclectic. Their health score today was 84, but when I came here a few years ago, a roach literally crawled onto our table. Luckily, I did not see any today and thought to give them another chance. My son and I tried the Snow White Chicken lunch special that came with plain fried rice, soup, and spring roll. It was $6.95 for Wednesday's special, but otherwise other lunch specials are $7.95. A bit pricey for Chinese food. The egg drop soup was good, as well as the spring roll. My meal was a bit on the salty side, but no real complaints. I also tried the Sizzling Rice Soup for 2. Traditionally, the hard rice is served at the table and thrown into the soup so that it "sizzles." But the rice was already in there, and I did not care for the flavor, which heavily tasted of ginger. Service was okay. She spoke in such a low tone, I could barely hear her. I thought it was a language barrier, so I asked if she spoke Mandarin Chinese, and she did. It was still difficult to understand her in Mandarin because she spoke so softly. I gave this place two tries, and I don't think I'll be back. Good luck, Lucky Key.
