The beer was tasty and refreshing, and the food didn’t disappoint either! I was especially impressed by the salad—it was fresh, generously portioned, and packed with a great variety of ingredients. The Latin soup was a standout: rich, flavorful, and comforting. The outdoor seating area really adds to the experience. It’s spacious, full of greenery and colorful flowers, creating a relaxed, welcoming vibe. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for spending an afternoon with a group of friends, enjoying good food, drinks, and conversation.

Google
I would rate the pizza 5 star. It was really good. Surprisingly good. Our group got a vegetarian pizza, and it was one of the best veggies I ever had. The meat pizza was even better IMHO. The ambiance of the place was really good with dog posters plastered all around. It had that old refurbished ex manufacturing facility Warehouse converted to a brewery type of feel. It is peak Portland but excellent. The staff was nice as well. I would come back again.

My nonprofit hosted a private event here last week, and the space was great. Libby was such a kind and incredible bartender and she made sure that our gluten free guests were able to swap out the pizza buffet for a gluten free sandwich which was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend working with Libby - she did a great job answering all my questions throughout the entire planning process.

This place is not really for vegans. Though, there are some vegan options that are on the menu. It's a great place to meet up with several folks, given the long sort of communal tables. The vegan pizza and salad served at the event I attended at Lucky Labrador Beer Hall was okay. The staff were super friendly, prompt and service and accommodating!

A place with good food, great environment, relaxed customers, and a general great vibe. The staff are amazing, and if you go, maybe get there early, cause it is easy for it to get packed.

Wife and I both had a cider, nice atmosphere, dartboards for some entertainment 🙂

Super fun place to have a beer on a warm summer day. Nice to have a place close by where the pooch is welcome. Great beer, nice vibe - will be back.

Google
This place has an extensive menu. Pizza, sandwiches, soups, sides and salads. Veggie and vegans welcomed with options for all food restrictions. Beer menu was great! Had an assortment of German styles, English styles and what you see at every brewery. Good variety for all walks of life! Service was great with recommended food options from the young gentle man at the counter with in my dietary restrictions. Loved all his recommendations. Cheers!

Yelp
Great spot! Short walk from our hotel and a nice walk too. No transient people walking around or lurking in the dark. Love that you can bring well behaved dogs! Big and open space so relax, dine and have a cold beer. OMG the portion sizes are HUGE! I could not finish the Rueben sandwich I ordered. It was delicious, I ate half and saved the other half. It came with a side salad which was full of leafy greens, cucumbers, tomatoes and croutons. Their ranch dressing was on point as well. We got 4 cans of beer to go. We will definitely be back and highly recommend you check out this place.

Yelp
I visited Lucky Labrador Beer Hall with a bunch of runners a few months ago. There was plenty of room for us in the second room of the restaurant. It was easy to place our orders at the bar in that room. The ambiance was interesting. There was tools as part of the decor. I got lemonade and a meatball sub with caesar salad. I liked my sub. There was plenty of cheese, the sauce was solid, and the meatballs were large. The bread was high quality as well. The Caesar salad seemed to be bag of salad but I still enjoyed it. I'll surely come back to this restaurant.

Yelp
Really neat spot for large meet ups with the large indoor space and private room for rent. Otherwise they have a large outdoor space for your pups. They also have a parking lot in the back which is great because it's off a main street and street parking is nonexistent. The staff here was friendly during our visit and was letting us know about delays with the large rush of people for a weekend as it seemed like there were multiple large meet ups happening the same day. They have a variety of meat, veggie, and gluten free pizza options. Pizza toppings here were solid but pizza was so so - not something I would come here just to get. As for drinks, I enjoyed the strawberry rhubarb ale and it's a nice option if you like sours. They don't serve cocktails here so you can get their house ales, guest drinks, or wine.

Yelp
The food was delicious and affordable, plenty of beer styles to choose from and the space has plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Even when it got busy there was plenty of space to move around.

Yelp
Such a great spot. FANTASTIC menu and beer selection, dog friendly...Love this place.

Yelp
Okay why good not great? I guess cuz the server took a while to warm up. Otherwise, great location (nice district), dog friendly to the max, which is a cool niche to have, humongous space with indoor and outdoor seating - yeah, okay, they could actually push the dog friendly stuff MORE here like if someone would have explained to us where to get the dog bowls with water? The pizza was fantastic and I can't believe anyone would have the nerve to complain about the size of the individual slices cuz a) who even offers slices that much anymore? and b) the slices are huge and c) also delicious. We got a pesto slice just try and then a veggie pizza. The crust is superb, and I don't know what they do with the artichokes but hands down the best artichokes on a pizza, or on anything, that I have ever had. Bet this is a super awesome weekend hangout.
google avatar

Steven B.

Yelp
It's a wide open area with ample space. The pizzas are decent, not spectacular but nice enough. I don't know if it's me and my perception but our individual slices appeared to me to be smaller than the slices cut in the whole pizzas ordered by others in our party. The salads were nice and fresh with not too much dressing. Our beet salad was a nice salad however it was hard to find any beets in it.

Yelp
We attended a wedding reception hosted here and I was very happy that the dog friendly outdoor patio was covered so that we could stay dry while the weather was dreary. There are plenty of tables, a self service bussing station to clear your dishes and glassware, as well as water bowls for your dog to have a drink too. There are only a few parking spots right next to the patio, so be prepared to look for street parking. If you arrived via bike there is designated parking inside the bar for you. The beer we ordered was tasty and well poured and the pizza had a pretty decent crust. I probably could have ordered something a little more interesting but I was thoroughly distracted outside by my dog and another visiting puppy in the best possible way. It was simple but it was pleasant. Since the patio was covered I imagine it's much better on a warmer day and the added shade is nice. It seemed like a really nice, cozy neighborhood stop for a few drinks and a quick meal with your dog.

Yelp
I did not expect this. I never imagined that I would eat the best pizza I have ever had in such a long time. The "hot diggity dog", with its peperoni, sausage, olives and mushrooms sitting on a crispy crust. The best. While attending the Barley wine festival,( and by the way, tops cellar week AND winter ale fest), I needed some food. Satisfying. Cool place. Has usual sandwiches and beer. I will travel the extra miles just to have the pizza. Seriously.

Yelp
Comfortable for groups or singles. Reliable pizza, sandwiches, salads and beer. The staff are lovely and quick, deliver food unobtrusively and are knowledgeable. Had a great time during an event there. Very impressed with the meeting space and the care the staff took to not interrupt.

Yelp
I am not a fan of bar food in general. But their veggie pizza is decent, they offer cider (yum!) the staff is nice, and social board games Sunday afternoons. All stuff I like :) But don't think for one moment their grilled cheese sandwich is grilled. It's just toasted. Their tuna sandwhich is pretty good as well as their Greek salad. Lastly, they offer outdoor seating and you may bring your friendly pooch. All. Good. Stuff.

Yelp
We found Lucky Labrador Beer Hall while walking on Distillery Row tasting spirits and it was a nice break to have a beer. As the name implies, Lucky Labrador is dog friendly and has a large outdoor patio to bring your dog. On the patio they have two sections, one for smoking, and one where it's prohibited which is nice if you and your family want to get away from the smoke. My husband and I shared a bowl of corn chowder and a turkey club sandwich. The bread the sandwich was on is locally made and delivered daily (absolutely delicious)! We tried the Octoberfest, and two different ciders. The ciders are not made in house, so stick with the beer if you want something made by Lucky Lab.

Yelp
Wanted this place to be like the other LL on the east side in terms of my local beer spot to hangout, grab good eats/beers, and people/dog watch.. not so much unfortunately. When going in on a Sunday, the person behind the counter came over and didn't even acknowledge us there besides a look of "what do you want?" Instead of asking or saying anything.. not so terrible.. next part.. we paid and didn't put tip on the card as we like to leave cash tips both during the beer runs and as we leave. When noticing we didn't tip, she rolled her eyes and let out a sigh of annoyance in front of us. Kinda bad.. Next stop.. when the pizza arrived, we needed utensils and extra plate. When I went up to counter to grab some, I let them know there weren't any in the self serve station. She walked over to the area behind the counter where the utensils were at and pointed to them (2 feet from her) instead of handing them over and had me grab them behind the counter myself.. ouch. Last stop.. needed a box to take the leftover pizza home. Last request of the eve, but instead of coming over to see what I needed, she just looked at me and continued to do whatever else was in progress and ahead of a customer who was willing to buy more, but not here after this kind of service. Eventually, the guy scraping the ovens turned around and came over to help and was the friendliest part of the experience here. Not a picky person or patron.. but this was pretty bad. Sorry, LL. Check your team on Sunday's and see if they need something to help their customer facing skills.

Yelp
Overall nice place to hang out, chat with friends, play card games, get some grub/beer, and bring your dog. In other words, I dig this place. The last time I was there, I didn't have that friendly of service, but the few times before that, I sure did. I'll go with the majority of experience with the customer service and say: it's good. The food is pretty tasty - I like the salad and the chocolate chip cookie. :) The pizza has a crust that's a little too thick for me. But if that's your thing, then you're good to go. I did the 1/2 and 1/2 of their two ciders, and quite enjoy it. Parking in the area is pretty available, so that's nice. I was actually able to pull into their sparse lot and find a spot during my last visit - oh yeah.

Yelp
So here's the thing. I love Lucky Lab, I think the beer and food are both great. I like coming here and hanging out with my dogs since I live in the neighborhood. But you know what I don't like? Actually, you know what I really hate? Second hand smoke. And for those that say "oh just go inside." When the weather is nice I like to bring my dogs places when I can. Honestly, if I have to choose between subjecting myself and my dogs to second hand smoke and sitting inside I'm just going to go elsewhere. Now is that a smart business decision for LL? I don't think so. They allow smoking at virtually all of their outside tables and people are happy to light up and chain smoke with no regard to those around them. I am fairly certain that this is against the law because this is a public accommodation, and a restaurant space. I know no other places nearby that allow this and I really don't understand. I am a former smoker myself and even when I did smoke I made a point to separate myself from people that were eating and tried to respect that not everyone wants to smell my cigarettes. Lucky Lab needs to get with the times and ban smoking on their patio like every other brewery in town.

Yelp
I love this place if nothing else for the Fantastic atmosphere. Even though it's big and open it is not loud. It's really relaxing. I haven't had pizza because I had pizza last night! My husband had it and said he would order it again. I ordered a small green salad for $4. I had my own salad dressing with me so that made it perfect

Yelp
Came in with a large group of coworkers this week and I have to give this place an extra star. The pizza we had ("The Mutt") was absurdly delicious! We stayed for quite a while over beers (they only have beer and wine) and it was a good time. I'm not a beer drinker, it was nearly 100ºF outside and I asked the bartender if they had anything that would be sort of lightish and comparable to a Corona. I did admit I'm a terrible Portlander before I asked this, and he let me try a sample of the "Goalden" which was good enough for me to nurse two pints over the evening. I also noticed that they're pretty quick with service, even when large crowds show up, and they have indoor bike parking.

Yelp
A solid hangout spot with plenty of seating (even on a busy night). They have their own brews and it has a beer hall vibe. I went on a barley wine festival night and tried 4 diffenet options (including a few from Lucky Lab!). Nothing out of the ordinary and an overall great spot to grab some brews and basic snacks with friends.

Yelp
Went here last night for a meetup group and we were besieged by a dozen small children under 10 yrs, running around treating this place like their personal playground. They were literally screaming, shouting, touching people, trying to climb onto the counter, bumping into people, shrieking at the tops of their lungs in that horrid high pitched wail you'd think would have cracked a window. And what did the staff do about this miserable dining/drinking experience?? N O T H I N G. After an ear piercing screech that made the entire table jump and caused my friend to sit with her ears covered, I turned to those children and told them they were being too loud and bothering everyone here and they need to be more quiet. Of course their parents had an issue with that because if they don't know how to parent their own children they're obviously going to be offended by a total stranger doing a better job of it in less than an hour than what they couldn't manage in 5 years. Thankfully after being called out, the kids stopped being so horrendously unruly and quieted down quite a bit. But that's not something I EVER should have had to do. An employee should have asked those people to control their offspring long before one of their customers was forced to do it. I've worked in bars before and we never would have tolerated that behaviour. Just last week I was in a shop on Hawthorne and some kids were screaming and shouting and an employee immediately came over to them and asked them to be quiet. If this kind of behaviour is acceptable here then I'd much rather go somewhere else. And if you have a small child, please don't take them to a bar if they don't know how to sit down and be quiet. Chuck E Cheese has pizza and beer too and your kids can scream their fucking heads off if they want to. But don't subject the rest of the world to that horror when we just want a quiet night out with some other adults, food and drinks... The pizza here is subpar and their beer and cider selection was pretty limited. I'll give them 1 star because their blue cheese dressing was good, but their side salad itself was pretty boring. With how many bars and pubs there are in Portland I'll just let the Xennial baby factories and their crotch fruit have this one. If you come here on a Saturday night just don't be surprised if small children run around screaming, pull your hair and crawl under your table, because apparently that's acceptable behaviour at this location.

Yelp
Man this place serves the coldest beer of any bar I have ever been to. After a very stressful flight with my anxious dog that viciously chewed her way out of her pet carrier bag, even while fully drugged on her vet-prescribed Trazodone, this place was our first stop after picking up the rental car before heading to the hotel. If only there was a dog-friendly beer to chill her out too. The pizza was great too; crunchy, hot, cheesy; kudos especially to whoever hand-placed each pepperoni piece ever so carefully as to cover as much of the pizza surface area as possible.

Yelp
this was one of our stops on the Brewcycle. It was our favorite of the three. They have a nice variety of beers on tap, the barn feel was fun, they have lots of outdoor seating, the pizza is decent, and they are dog friendly. I don't think I would go out of my way to come back, but it was interesting to go to once.

Yelp
Walked pretty far to come here and thankfully I was pretty thirsty by then, otherwise I'm not sure what I would have thought of the beer. The building is situated on a dark street, I almost walked past it. The beer hall vibe seemed like it would have been cool if the place was busy, but it was a Thursday night and there was a small group of about 4 people and then my group of 2...felt awkward in such a large space. There were dartboards which was a cool bonus. On to the beer....for that I'd give 2 stars. It quenched my thirst and that's about it. I had a pilsner and the amber, neither of which had any flavor. My boyfriend had the IPA which was also very blah. The hallway to the bathroom had some cool hoppy wall art that only made me sad I didn't taste any in the beer I drank there. Overall mediocre experience and I probably won't go back.
google avatar

Kyra N.

Yelp
My husband and I have been coming here for years. We used to live in the neighborhood but moved. Because of there kid friendly environment and employees we still drive over to this place. The Hawthorne location is closer to us but this place has made us loyal customers. Tips: 1) If you see BrewCycle pulling in... better go and get your next drink before they come in the door. Are you will be waiting in line for awhile... 2) There are house darts at the bar. You just need to ask for them. Don't go grabbing others people darts. Yes, people actually have their own darts. To the girl who video my husband and put it on Snapchat supposedly saying he was serious about dart. Please feel free to video people with their own bowling ball, pool stick, etc... 3) YES! Kids are allowed here. So don't go complaining to the people you are with or make comments about kids being here. Next time, go to a place that kids aren't allowed. Problem solved.

Denice R.

Yelp
I came here for an event so my review is more about the place in general than a specific place to have a beer or bite. They have a good-size separate room that can accommodate gatherings, and the walls must be pretty sturdy because I didn't notice any noise coming through from the pub side. I imagine the open concept warehouse configuration could get very noisy when they're really busy. There are many tables and I couldn't even guess what the capacity is, but it's a lot for a brew pub. They have a selection of beers but since I prefer really smooth non-hoppy beers my choices were limited. I thought it was really cool that they have an indoor bicycle rack. I liked the location and appreciated the easy parking.
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
If you are with a large group and have low expectations, want surly service, and luke warm pizza this is the place for you. The beer isn't half bad but it can't compensate for the constant screw ups from their kitchen. I have been there a number of times and they screwed up the orders at least half the times. When I went to the counter and told them they said " yeah, well what do you expect me to do about it?" Um, how about re-do the order and make the items we actually ordered, or offer a refund, or apologize, or pretend you care even a little. I only regret I pre tipped them a decent amount. They didnt deserve it!
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
Had some super, super light beers, ciders, and some more normal beer choices. Can't say i was super excited about any of them, but then we only had limited time to sample the menu-- a more full stop might lead to a better experience? Pizza was pretty meh, but we were hungry, and in the middle of the day they had ample seating. What seals the 3 star rating was the attitude of some of the servers... I don't necessarily expect service with a smile, but it was a very non-Portland vibe from some. (the cashiers, OTOH, were all excellent.)
google avatar

Lauren P.

Yelp
So many breweries to pick from when in Portland but glad we picked this one out. There is a ton of seating at long tables (great for a large group or party). We ordered our beer at the counter after sampling a few. I tried 2 different ciders and went with a semi sweet apple cider. My friend choose a stout. They had a nice menu option with many pizza and salads to choose from. They had a great pizza salad combo and for I think around $7.99 you got a slice of any pizza and 1/2 of a salad. I went with the pepperoni pizza and a cesar salad. The salad was a huge portion and very fresh lettuce and a tasty dressing. The pizza was really good and would love to go back and order a whole pie (also recommend the veggie pizza). Cool place that I highly recommend checking out.

Yelp
4 for the beer. 5 for the atmosphere. 3 for the food. Love the dog-friendly patio. Water dishes available. I'm a tuna melt connoisseur and this one leaves something to be desired. I prefer grilled bread and this one is toasted. The tuna is also bland.
google avatar

JOE M.

Yelp
Awesome dog friendly environment. Rustic for sure but reliable and predictable. Good cold beer and pizza. The Green and White was very tasty!
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
I went there as my dog was not allowed at the brewfest. The good: they allow dogs on the patio. And the good ends there. The patio is non descript and not all that attractive. The indoor area is roomy but kind of hot and stuffy. The bartender unenthusiastic and minimalistic. Food menu was uninspiring. Beer was somewhat generic and forgettable although I had a flight of six. I really like brewpubs in general, but this one didn't click for me.
google avatar

Zeb L.

Yelp
Lucky Lab is a competent brewery and pizza place. Why only competent? Their beers fall into this easy NW pattern of a few IPAs that are good but are relatively indistinguishable from one another, and a lot of other beers that are kind of "meh." My Scottish Ale really just tasted like a darkish stout, and the ciders are solidly in the neutral range. The most interesting looking things on the tap list were the wheat beers, including a wheat stout, so if/when I go back that's what I'll be trying. Overall, I kinda feel that they need to push in that direction and break out of the Oregon paradigm. The pizzas are better in that there's a solid divide between meat and vegetarian options, so there's lots to pick from. But even then, something about the flavor wasn't quite on. We went with the Northwest last night: basil pesto, blue cheese, walnuts, apple, and spinach. Sounds amazing, right? And it was good, but I'll be damned if I could taste blue cheese anywhere in the pizza. It's not exactly a flavor that camouflages itself, so where did it go? So, a useful venue (especially for the dog-owning population), but in and of itself, not a standout experience.

Yelp
I enjoyed my visit to the Lucky Labrador and fortunately arrived with a hunger. The menu is broader than I've found in most bars or taverns, but the sandwiches, pizzas, salads, cheeses and nibbles were appealing to a great many preferences. The spectrum of brews was impressive as well, but I was driving so I can only pass on the satisfaction of those in my group. I was comfortable inside and ambient noise levels made conversation easy. That may have been a matter of good timing. There is a separate area for special events or meetings. I did not encounter the poor service or rudeness that other reviewers have mentioned. My tuna sandwich and shared pizza were tasty and satisfied my hunger. I look forward to returning to the Lucky Labrador.

Yelp
What's better than Superdog? Superdog aged in gin barrels. Nothing like a hit of juniper mid afternoon! Get it while you can or before I go back and drink it all. Seriously though, this beer brought me back to the old days when it was all about gin soaked barbeques on a friend's porch, and then roaring back to the present where my biggest craving is for super hoppy IPA's. Best of both worlds. One star for this beer and one star for all the classics on tap. Third star for bottling Superdog. Now I can take one of my favorite beers home in an adult size bottle instead of a disaster in making sized Growler. Fourth Star for the bike rack inside. I like to leave my bike where I can keep an eye on it. This makes it a lock that I will stop here whenever I'm nearby on my bike. One star off for the food. But I don't come here for the food and neither should you since you are in NW. I come here to relax with friends and enjoy my Superdog (or Gin Superdog in the case of this visit). One star back for the enormous outdoor porch where I met a very adorable bulldog puppy. There's always dogs here. Love it here.

Yelp
Fantastic lunch spot. Beer is delicious and food is above average and well priced. The ambiance is what does it for me; no pretension and no frills. It's a beer hall and they make great beer. Service is great, staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you're looking for trendiness and want to overpay for everything, go to almost anywhere else in Portland, If you want lunch and a pint in a great location, come here.

Yelp
Pretty cool spot off the beaten path of NW portland. Nice outdoor patio too. I had the ruebin sandwich, not to bad, a little skimpy on the meat. Who am i kidding i went for the BEER! The 20th anniversary IPA was tasty. Cheers!

Yelp
Cute space with dog art and good beer but the bartender was unfriendly and unhelpful. The bartender's ability to recommend and describe beers is always important for a beer hall or brewery experience so we were disappointed.

Steven M.

Yelp
Service - Incredibly bad, shockingly rude. There are so many options for Pizza in NW Portland, it's laughable to think they can treat their customers with such disrespect. Pizza - Hot, good portions of toppings, but sauce and crust were pretty unremarkable. At $25.95, I expect a damn good pizza, but was left disappointed. If I wanted mediocre pizza, I would have ordered from a pizza chain and paid less. Do yourself a favor and consider one of the other many options nearby.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute outdoor seating and indoor seating. Pet friendly. Beer selection was good. I tried the guava passion fruit. It is a sour beer but nonetheless I did enjoy it. Food is not that great. I got the pull pork sandwich and it was so dry my jaw hurts from chewing. Maybe I'll try their pizzas the next time. In terms of service, the staff are all really friendly!

Yelp
Beetles walk into a flow of pine pitch and get stuck. More pitch flows, encapsulating the beetle carcass. Time passes. The pine pitch hardens. The beetle is trapped for eternity in a vault of amber, preserved in the very state in which it initially became stuck. Craft breweries are often just like this, and the Lucky Lab is no exception. They start making beer, and it's exceptionally good. It's the best you can get...at that point in time. And the recipe ossifies and get's stuck in time. And time passes. And beer recipes get better. New hop strains are developed. New techniques are employed. But that earlier craft brewery? It still makes beer the way it did back in the day. But now that's less impressive. The beer can't hold a candle to what the new kid on the block is brewing. But for some reason the old craft brewer refuses to update his recipies. Lucky Lab beer is like that. Super Dog IPA. Yeah. It's okay I guess. This lucky lab has much the same feel as the original on Hawthorne. It's a big warehouse of a space, with long tables set up in a communal Bavarian beer hall fashion. They serve pizza here, which isn't anything fancy but is decent. The draw in my view is the nice outdoor seating, some of it covered from the rain. They even have hops growing up the walls. Hey. Nice touch hippie.

Yelp
Depends on what you are looking for: Beer = 1 star, their beer is terrible, not flavorful and almost watered down tasting. Considering Portland is now known for breweries...Do Not waist your time here!!!!! Food = 3 stars. I had already eaten before we got their so I just got a ceasar which was actually quite good! Everyone else got food and gave their meals an "It's okay" review Event Space = 4 star, This is based off the fact that there were multiple holiday parties going on there. I did not personally attend one or try to plan one here so 4 stars may be too generous Service=3 star, Not an overly positive staff. You order up at the counter and are given a number. Don't be in a hurry here...

Yelp
I was planning a multi-school (Portland) reunion from the East Coast and Lucky Lab was suggested as the perfect spot where we didn't have to commit to a catering menu and financial obligations as other event locations required. We couldn't have been happier with the arrangements and Libby was wonderful to work with. I was able to pre-order some appetizers but otherwise people could order food and beverages if they wanted to and we were able to carve out some covered outdoor space for the group. If the weather had been challenging we could have been inside just as easily so it was great to have options the day of. The trick was planning a noon event and getting there early to claim some tables ahead of our guests arriving. Other customers were at tables nearby but it didn't cause any issues at all.

Yelp
Great spot to hangout and have a beer. Lots of seating. Love the darts and corn hole.

Yelp
We used to LOVE the Lucky Lab: good beer, friendly staff and a real Portland feel: unpretentious, earth-friendly, mellow and cool. Like many brew pubs in PDX (Bridgeport et al), the Lucky Lab has become too cool to care about it's customers - and more. Last night was beautiful, dry and warm (77') in PDX - the weather where all good Portlanders open up and enjoy! At the Lucky Lab they were closed up tight with the AC (air conditioning) blowing full blast. The Quimby location has wonderful "garage" doors they can open, but despite asking, the staff declined (they were too hot and wanted the AC to run instead). So we suffered with freezing air blowing on us for one beer and left. We had planned to stay for dinner and a few hand of cards, but it was too cold thanks to the AC. They had outdoor tables: ALL FULL, while hundreds of inside chairs were empty because they wouldn't open the doors and and windows, letting in the beautiful Portland air. After 12 years at the Lucky Lab we are now looking for a new Portland 'beer home' - one that would rather "be Portland" than run the AC and drive away customers. BTW: sandwiches are good, beer is average for PDX, pizza is too thick, current staff sucks.

Yelp
Just crap food at this place. Pathetic salad in terms of quality of the vegetables and my wife's pesto sandwich was mediocre at best. The ingredients used in everything are mediocre. I get pulled into going to work parties here because it's easy for us to find seating for so many people - GUESS WHY?!?! Nobody comes to this place and I honestly am always amazed they r still in business each time I go back. Hopefully never again for us!

Yelp
This place is really cute. It's set up like a German beer hall with the long tables on the inside. It could be really fun with a really large group of people. Got more beer here - we asked about some of the beers on the chalkboard menu and asked for recommendations. The guy working behind the counter was really cool and gave us samples of some of the beers. I settled on the crystal hef, since I like wheat beers. It was late afternoon and the weather was perfect, so we took our beers to the outside seating area which had loads of picnic tables. And there were hops growing on the sides of some of the walls which was really cool. Didn't try the food but this would be a fun place to come back to just to hang out and play board games. The logo with the black puppy is super cute too.

Yelp
I don't know why this place doesn't hang out higher on the mental list of places to grab an impromptu beer. It's so convenient, reliable, and has a good selection on tap. Maybe it's because the place is tucked away from all of the main thoroughfares? But really that's a benefit. I've never had trouble finding a spot to sit when coming here. The outdoor patio is extensive, with both covered and uncovered portions. No patio heating, though, so bring a jacket if you're sitting outside between October and May. Lots of dogs! Indoors, seating as far as the eye can see, if you're half blind like me. Large group? No problem. Lots of kids having study groups or playing nerdy board games. Perfecto. The staff are always nice, too. As far as the beers: a good selection of lighter and darker, hoppy and not, and at least a couple of ciders thrown in at any given time. Not where I go for something super exciting, just a solid spot. And decent pizza doesn't hurt either. Prices are reasonable.

Yelp
Home of the best: BLT, Housemade Rootbeer, and, surprisingly the largest table numbers.
