I first noticed this place when there was a meal deal on UberEats in their $15 meal deal section. It looks like Lucky Mao markets itself as part of a virtual ghost kitchen through Orbital Kitchens. Overall, I have found the quality of food to be perhaps slightly lower than that of a storefront restaurant on average based on my personal experience with ghost kitchens. However, I do agree that the marketing is great with excellent packaging!
However, I would have to say that for now I would give this place 3 out of 5 stars- it's OK, but not memorable (at least based on what I ordered). I ordered the chicken and broccoli with rice, which is a pretty simple staple dish of American-Chinese take-out but the chicken was actually quite dry and I found the flavor of the sauce to be somewhat underwhelming and watery. I had to add more oyster sauce and seasoning at home to make it more flavorful. The dish was far less rich than I was expecting- if this was marketed as a "healthy-version", I would understand the decreased flavor profile.
If there are any more deals in the future for other dishes, I may be convinced to try another dish from this place and adjust my review. Otherwise, it would probably be more worth it to get your greasy Chinese bites from a mom-and-pop place. I will have to say that even though the dumplings seem like they came premade/frozen, they were actually very delicious. I am a huge fan of the vegetable dumplings! I will have to say for now that this place is quite mediocre- which is to say average. It's not bad but it's not great either.
